JG score of 5/10 (+2 for food, +1 for atmosphere, 0 for price, +1 for Diet Dr Pepper, 0 for service and +1 for we would return) The food is good here for a franchise but none stands out as much as some mom and pop places......but good nonetheless. We chose the Old Timer breakfast today with the eggs and hash browns, biscuits and gravy, grits, and sausage and bacon. All of it was very good but none of it knocked out socks off....especially the biscuits and gravy= could be much better. We finished it off with Coke cake. This was good. We did not taste any Coke taste to it which is why we thought it was called that and our waitress did not know either. We were also not interested enough to look it up either. All the food today was good but not standout. The atmosphere is typical Cracker Barrel. The store out front is always a plus with all the old candy and such. Everything hanging inside is neat to look at and also the fireplace and those peg games. The only negative is that it can be too loud and crowded and noisy sometimes to appreciate. The price for each of us with a breakfast and tea and cake was $18 and this without a tip yet. They do have Diet Dr Pepper. The service was okay. They seem to have too much to do. WORST CB we've ever been to!!! Two 20-somethings running (ruining) the restaurant, kept telling us we were "next," for an HOUR, while we waited with three tired, hungry toddlers. We saw other groups coming and leaving after having eaten, while we waited to be called. We were patient and polite until the last 10 minutes, and I got fed up and unloaded on them. Response was "I'm sorry, m'am," eyeroll. We left to go get a really good fresh lunch at the nearby Dairy Queen where that manager made sure we were well served and happy. I think it was a bad night. Couldn't get corn bread or biscuits, I had to ask 3 times. They were out of baked chicken, out of cabbage. So I ordered a did debt chicken and after 30 min the waitress came back to the table and said it was going to take another 10-30 min and did I want to order something else. It took an hour to get our meal. Finally the biscuits came without butter or honey. Once we got the biscuits and corn bread they were yummy:) Service was really lacking. I love Cracker Barrel, and have visited many across country this place does NOT seat people six feet apart. Our waitress was wearing her mask below her nose as she took our order. While waiting for the order I left my husband at the table to go explore that shop, when I came back they had sat people at a table less the 4 Feet from us. When I said something to the waitress she immediately got her manager. That lead me to believe that had had this complaint in the past. They manager came out to tell me that the health department had approved their restaurant to serve food? What? Who ask that, I didn't. I ask him if he realized that our tables weren't 6 feet apart he repeated his scripted speech about the health department. He did offer to move us but the restaurant was completely full. This is the reason we can't get ri of COVID no one is following what ask of us! Ok the food wasn't that great either. The biscuits were not what they normally are, they were flat. It seems like every time I have eaten here the food keeps on getting worse & worse. Everything was very bland and had no taste whatsoever. I ordered French toast & it was very 'heavy' and plain. The grits had no taste & very watery. I also ordered scrambled eggs and they came out looking like a omelet(not scrambled at all) On a good note; out waitress was very nice and accommodating. Love the quaintness of Cracker Barrel. The breakfasts are big enough to take home half for the next day. Their meatloaf is excellent and you never know what you will find in their shops. It is hard to walk out empty handed. read more

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store (Longview, TX) has lost the down home style. The waiters now have iPads to take your order. They never even look at you now. And it takes away from being COUNTRY/ HOME feel. Disappointing!!! But the food is still great, but have gotten a little pricey. read more

We love the atmosphere of Cracker Barrel! That country, home-cooked meal kind of feeling! My girls love to look in the gift shop area!! I ordered the salmon patties, green beans and hash brown casserole and my girls got fried chicken and green beans. Everything tasted good except for the casserole. Had Sunday morning breakfast and it was great! I had the southwest scramble with hash brown casserole (probably one of my favorite dishes) and my husband had one of the pancake breakfasts with eggs, sausage and grits. Everything was so good. Staff is very friendly and efficient! I also noticed everyone (managers included) helping out to bus tables, refill coffees, etc. Good teamwork going on in this location! I've been to a few cracker barrel's lately while traveling and had to prep myself for a really buttery and heavy meal. I was pleasantly surprised that the food here was excellent! Eggs came out cooked exactly as ordered, pancakes were not overly greasy / buttery, my husband's food was perfect and the kids enjoyed theirs as well. The place was packed, but we only had to wait 5 minutes, it was organized well. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Definitely recommend if you're in the area. read more

The food here is off the chain.my only problem with this joint is the service(or lack there of!)I ordered dinner for my wife and child and myself,only brought half of it out had to remind the waiter we didnt get our sides.asked for biscuits to be brought to the table (all the CB I have ate at always bring the biscuits ,we had to ask.and they brought four(4)cornbread muffins with two(2)biscuits and no butter or jelly..)the waiter argued with me that they never just brought biscuits and you have to ask..anyway I would be telling a lie if I said I would not come back but it won't be very soon.I can handle s**tty service if the food is good .BTW I tried the grits....was very surprised.good job in the kitchen,needs improvement in the wait staff. read more

First off I don't get a chance to eat at Cracker Barrel very often and always look forward to the breakfast. This was by far my worst visit to any of their locations. My only complaint is the food was served cold. French toast was cold with 2 scoops of butter that wouldn't even think about melting. The eggs and sausage was only slightly warmer. Took a few bites and couldn't go any farther on a breakfast I was paying for. Asked for my ticket and left. Now at Denny's and I typically avoid the place like the plague. grrrrrr....... read more

typical cracker barrel. southern style country cookin' . most items have lots of carbs, fat, sugar and salt; making them quite tasty, but they have a big menu with a number of more healthy alternatives. the staff at this location are very friendly. if you are at the holiday inn expess nextdoor this is basically the only dining option not requiring driving, i ate here a few times while in town for work for that reason. the scheme of having the huge gift shop out front full of random cutesy country style knick-knacks which one must walk through to enter the restaurant is brilliant. read more
