Our waitress was good! Jasmine was working the room! The food was ok. I had the turkey, dressing and sweet potato casserole dinner with one side dish. I picked mashed potatoes with gravy. The mashed potatoes were served with beef gravy while the turkey and dressing were covered in a poultry gravy. Hmmmm. This was odd. I also was not served the cranberry relish. The sweet potato casserole was sickening sweet. I could not eat it. The floor needed swept. Don't slip on the bacon! The bathroom needed a thorough floor scrubbing. Oh, well. The turkey was tasty. My husband ordered breakfast and he ate it all. I like Cracker Barrel and I will continue to frequent the chain but this location needs attention. read more

That doesn't look like a service dog and even if it is, I don't want to dine with it. Separately the food review is as follows. I ordered the Country Boy Breakfast. The steak tips were a little pinker than I desire for medium well but they were pretty good. Consistency of the grits were spot on. The biscuit was good also. The sweet tea was phenomenal. Sissy Pooh ordered the Grandma's Breakfast as usual. She said everything was good. She took the pancakes home. Now both of us agreed the temperature of the food was warm and not hot. Our family stopped here for lunch while driving to Helen from Jacksonville. We arrived at 10:50 had a 20min wait to be sat for a fam of 7-10. The food, despite being ordered, didn't come out until 30 minutes later. It wasn't that busy. The waitress was ok. The food was ok. I ordered fried shrimp, very overcooked. My husband ordered the fried chicken, he said it was juicy and delicious but kind of small in size. He also said the breading/batter had an old oil taste to it, and it was too crunchy, like the oil was much too hot when it was fried. I feel the same about the shrimp. The Mac n cheese was creamy and noodles cooked past time but the kids didn't mind. The fried apples were delicious and the kids hardly touched the pancakes. Maybe they weren't hungry or maybe they didn't taste great, I can't tell you. The French fries were also delicious. Overall our experience was just ok. read more

Cracker Barrel Old Country Store (5000 Eisenhower Pkwy., Macon, GA) It was the worst service I have ever seen and I have worked in the service industry for over 30 years. First the hostess took my order wrong because she was preoccupied talking to the other hostess while I was trying to order. Then it took 0ver 20 minutes for my order to be ready. I was told by the hostess that the cooks have to serve the inside first before cooking to-go orders. When it finally came out I took it home only to realize that my order was wrong. I went back to get what I had ordered. The managers looked at my ticket then looked at the food and after they decided that it was my food and I didn't go home and cook up some food to be returned. They went into the back only to return with some old chicken that was two different colors. Obviously cooked at two different times. I insisted that they make me a fresh batch of chicken. They told me it would be 15 to 25 minutes. So I waited. In the meantime nothing of a form of compensation was offered. I sat there for 35 minutes. When I got home they had still messed up my order by giving me 2 biscuits instead of the combo of breads I asked for. I will never be going back again, at least not to this one. read more

The biscuits were moist and delicious I'm giving three stars because the service was slow. This is not the fault of the friendly and helpful staff! I assume it's because the kitchen is short staffed (looking at you, management). I had the Smoky Southern Grilled Chicken with hash-brown casserole and pinto beans. The hash-browns had huge chunks of onions and wasn't holding together and was approaching soupy-ness and probably the worst version of this favorite side dish I've ever experienced. Very slow service on a Monday night restaurant not full need new staff never coming again

I visit many CB restaurants and always enjoy the food. Besides breakfast, my go to is the maple bacon cheese baked chicken breasts. The sweet maple mixed with bacon and melted cheese is delicious with the chicken. I have to sadly say it was terrible at this location. The chicken breasts were flat and a bit overcooked. There was no maple flavor at all. The dish did not measure up to other CBs where I order this. My husband's chicken and dumplings were like huge dry dough balls with little chicken. Very disappointing. I gave it two stars for service. The staff were so friendly and should be commended on their service. read more

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a Cracker Barrel. The manager, Jay Williams, refused to serve us because our service dog was not wearing a vest -- even though this is NOT a legal requirement in the state of Georgia. His actions violated ADA protections, and we plan to pursue legal action regarding this incident. Shockingly, instead of resolving the situation professionally, Mr. Williams went so far as to call the police on us, even though we had done nothing wrong. The entire scene was humiliating and completely unnecessary. To make matters worse, several employees were sitting at the front of the restaurant eating and drinking, including Jay himself, which made the environment loud and disorderly. We left feeling disrespected, embarrassed, and deeply disappointed. Cracker Barrel's corporate office needs to retrain this management team immediately and ensure all employees are educated about customer service and ADA law. read more

Every Cracker Barrel is the same...which means they are truly consistent if you are looking for a certain kind of meal while traveling. There are usually two people working really really hard, and everyone else is just standing around doing nothing. They're always mostly clean, but not totally clean. And the food is good, if you stick to the basics, and also if you never order the green beans. Luckily our server was one of the few "workers" actually working and she was very efficient. I ordered the fried shrimp with mac & cheese, fries and green beans (a mistake, I know, but I was hopeful). The portion was huge and mostly good. The mac & cheese was actually really delicious and the fried shrimp was a little overcooked but not bad. As I walked out of the restaurant, I couldn't help but get sucked into buying some things from the store up front. They just have such fun random things, like earrings and a skull sweater that just had to go home with me. read more

We stopped in on a road trip- busy sunday and still decided to wait and enjoy the meal. We ordered as soon as the waitress came & waited an hour for our food. We watched the restaurant mostly clear out, and still had horrible service. She forgot two sides of one of our entrees and when she did bring them out, one was wrong. for another meal, i had a side of biscuits and gravy she never brought out. i told her it was okay but i didn't receive it. she said "i brought the biscuits out earlier with the cornbread, i just forgot the gravy" which seemed off. I really love Cracker Barrel, it is a safe haven whenever I travel. It may not give you the memorable ambiance and local flavor, but the surroundings the menu, the consistency means you always know what you are getting. Until that proves not to be true. I ordered the daily special, with apples, hash brown casserole and biscuits. Oh yeah, and some tea. The tea came, it was delicious and refreshing after a long work day. I made my first request asked for honey with my biscuits. My food came, I took a picture and made my second request for biscuits, which were supposed to come with the meal. The daily special was fine, the apples were AMAZING (okay, I like apples) but the potatoes were cold and my tea glass was empty. After searching for my server for the rest of the night, I finally was able to flag him down and make a final request for biscuits, this time "to go". I then went to check out and I got the standard, "were you pleased with the service" to which i said "no", and the host never responded. Then I made a mistake AND FORGOT to write down the tip (since I was obsessing over my biscuits) so I asked the hostess to add 20%, but instead she added 40% and looked flabbergasted when i said it was incorrect. Okay, I get it, I should have done my own math, that is on me. But I patiently waited for 5 or 6 minutes to get a manager to resolve it. Plenty of time for my server to recognize his error, but alas, it was not to be. I don't like leaving negative reviews and I rarely do, but the food and service at this location were less than what I think Cracker Barrel would want. What a shame. I wish I had better things to say about this Cracker Barrel. We went for a family brunch because we were visiting from out of town. It was a large party. It was about 12 of us. We got sat rather quickly. But the wait time for our food was over 30 minutes. Our waitress was kind to us, but they didn't make up for the piece of hard plastic that was in my cousins grits. After that everything was just off. No one wanted to eat their food. The manager did comp her meal and gave her a card for a free dessert on her next visit, but they still left us dissatisfied. We were in the area for an impromptu visit to the Middle Georgia State University campus (botanical gardens) and this place happened to be a short distance away on the opposite side of I-475. There was a short wait but that was (at least partially) due to their socially-distancing the tables due to COVID. We got seated within ~ 15 minutes of checking in. Our server was fairly efficient and checked back on us often. We got the bread / coffee first followed by our main lunch entrees. I'm giving this place the 5-score maximum mainly because there was really nothing to complain about. The food was delivered in a timely way and was better than average for a Cracker Barrel. As soon as we sat down they wanted to take our order before we even opened the menus. Our mistake as we waited about 45 minutes to get our breakfast which might as well been brunch at this point a table behind us was quite boisterous and apparently required 5 different servers and the manager to attend to as we quietly waited for our food. When we did inquire about 30 mins in they said our ticket was being worked on. Why not 30 mins ago? When the food did arrive some was undercooked and actually cold. We have eaten at cracker barrel several times and have never been as disappointed as we were with the food and service here. Went into Cracker Barrel on Eisenhower Parkway on Saturday in Macon, Ga. Store not busy and many empty tables. Put name in for a party of 6 with the most rude hostess in the world. She was very inpolite to anyone who came up and I let her know it. We waited at least 25 minutes for a table and the hostess walked away from hostess stand and the waiting line to put their names in or be seated was 12 people long. Finally, I ask her how much longer for ours, she turned around walked away, put chairs on two tables together thre the menus down and left. I said is this our table and she nodded. The person behind me waiting to give her name ask her if hostess was here to seat them or take their names and her reply to this older polite customer was I am right here. Fire her ass. Her attitude sucked. If this is the best you can do in hostesses, you are hurting. Will not be back at this location. Who doesn't love pancakes for dinner?! I know I do and is the only reason I went to cracker barrel as their pancakes are the bomb!! The restaurant wasn't crowded at all but it took forever to get our food. However that's come to be expected for this location. The food was good as expected. Our waitress and the store employees were all great. I tried to make it back out without buying something and that was a FAIL. (AGAIN felt pushy) and she asked if it looked good, and i mentioned my broc & ched casserole was missing and she says out loud "oh that's right" comes back about 2 minutes later to inform me they're out, which was a let down but whatever, time goes by, she has yet to check on us, grab us refills, and a point i did not even see her for awhile, she was hiding in the back doing whatever. made me upset, my side of fried apples were not good and room temperature/cold, i wanted to trade it out for a regular hash brown casserole as my side, i had to get up and find the manager, her name was carolyn, she explains out loud "hmm that's weird i didn't know we were out of anything" THAT was a big red flag for me, so either the manager is lying or our server was. either way there was bad communication overall, i was not impressed, food way okay, nothing was really hot but just a little over room temperature/ just warm, i've been to cracker barrel quite a lot growing up, it was always a staple for me and my family growing up. we love it here. this location in particular just isn't good, needs to clean up better, improve staff for sure! we would've been better off with a different server as well. read more

We were in from 9 am to 10:20 am on 12/27. While I approached the hostess with a warm upbeat smile, she did not return the welcome. This was the same with all the staff we encountered with exception to our server, Ace. She was clearly running hard in a pretty empty restaurant, but it was clear they were incredibly short staffed. She did great considering, but we'd never go back. This location is pretty disgusting, which could be from the lack of staff and general attention to the location. The women's bathroom has a dehumidifier in it, but it clearly has t been managed or cleaned in a long time and it's located directly under the paper towels so water falls in it when you get the towels to dry your hands. The electrical cord is also laying on the floor, which creates a fire hazard. The dust and mold accumulation is concerning, and makes you wonder what is lurking in the kitchen. read more

This is a nice Cracker Barrel just off 475 or i-75, if you go a few miles. I've eaten here 3 times and never had a bad meal. I normally choose the 2 filet trout diner with choice of 3 sides. I chose all green sides with green beans, turnip greens and cabbage. This entire meal is less than 800 calories and near fat free. I get the roll and corn bread, but seldom eat them, just because of my diet. But yes it's good. The service was exceptional and I didn't have to wait for a table. It was October 17, 2019 and the fire place was roaring. Christmas decor was throughout the store. I love walking around the store and just looking at all the items. Of particular interest are the candies of yesterday that can't be bought in a convenience store. read more
