    Fried shrimp
    Holly M.

Our family stopped here for lunch while driving to Helen from Jacksonville. We arrived at 10:50 had a 20min wait to be sat for a fam of 7-10. The food, despite being ordered, didn't come out until 30 minutes later. It wasn't that busy. The waitress was ok. The food was ok. I ordered fried shrimp, very overcooked. My husband ordered the fried chicken, he said it was juicy and delicious but kind of small in size. He also said the breading/batter had an old oil taste to it, and it was too crunchy, like the oil was much too hot when it was fried. I feel the same about the shrimp. The Mac n cheese was creamy and noodles cooked past time but the kids didn't mind. The fried apples were delicious and the kids hardly touched the pancakes. Maybe they weren't hungry or maybe they didn't taste great, I can't tell you. The French fries were also delicious. Overall our experience was just ok.

    The maple bacon grilled chicken.

Got the maple bacon grilled chicken with a side of corn and a side of green beans. The food was delicious, although the chicken was a little tough. The biscuits were moist and delicious I'm giving three stars because the service was slow. This is not the fault of the friendly and helpful staff! I assume it's because the kitchen is short staffed (looking at you, management). So great food, great service, but a Cracker Barrel meal shouldn't take nearly an hour from entry to check out.

Police called because of my service dog

This was one of the worst experiences I've ever had at a Cracker Barrel. The manager, Jay Williams, refused to serve us because our service dog was not wearing a vest -- even though this is NOT a legal requirement in the state of Georgia. His actions violated ADA protections, and we plan to pursue legal action regarding this incident. Shockingly, instead of resolving the situation professionally, Mr. Williams went so far as to call the police on us, even though we had done nothing wrong. The entire scene was humiliating and completely unnecessary. To make matters worse, several employees were sitting at the front of the restaurant eating and drinking, including Jay himself, which made the environment loud and disorderly. We left feeling disrespected, embarrassed, and deeply disappointed. Cracker Barrel's corporate office needs to retrain this management team immediately and ensure all employees are educated about customer service and ADA law.

Wednesday Night Special - Broccoli Chicken

I really love Cracker Barrel, it is a safe haven whenever I travel. It may not give you the memorable ambiance and local flavor, but the surroundings the menu, the consistency means you always know what you are getting. Until that proves not to be true. I ordered the daily special, with apples, hash brown casserole and biscuits. Oh yeah, and some tea. The tea came, it was delicious and refreshing after a long work day. I made my first request asked for honey with my biscuits. My food came, I took a picture and made my second request for biscuits, which were supposed to come with the meal. The daily special was fine, the apples were AMAZING (okay, I like apples) but the potatoes were cold and my tea glass was empty. After searching for my server for the rest of the night, I finally was able to flag him down and make a final request for biscuits, this time "to go". I then went to check out and I got the standard, "were you pleased with the service" to which i said "no", and the host never responded. Then I made a mistake AND FORGOT to write down the tip (since I was obsessing over my biscuits) so I asked the hostess to add 20%, but instead she added 40% and looked flabbergasted when i said it was incorrect. Okay, I get it, I should have done my own math, that is on me. But I patiently waited for 5 or 6 minutes to get a manager to resolve it. Plenty of time for my server to recognize his error, but alas, it was not to be. I don't like leaving negative reviews and I rarely do, but the food and service at this location were less than what I think Cracker Barrel would want. What a shame. On the good side, parking was plentiful and everyone was courteous.

Service and food was very poor. We waited a long time to even get sat down and refills and extra condiments took forever.

My friend and I both placed an order for two styles of boneless wings of the same style. We did order different dipping sauces. We also ordered a appetizer of onion rings. About 10 minutes later the waitress brought my order, but not my friends. My order came out correct except the Buffalo wings. It was the mild sauce and not the extra spicy. It took another 5 minutes for my friends order to come out. One of his boneless wings they mixed up the sauce for what style of wings he wanted. We decided not to bother with mentioning anything because we had to get going. The waitress was extremely nice. She brought us drink refill without asking. The wings were perfectly cooked. While the type of wings ordered were incorrect, we still both enjoyed the flavor we hadn't tried. Sadly this type of mix up seems to happen more often thwn not when I visit Applebee's. But once inside you figure out quickly it is truly a hidden gem. The spinach dip was so good, the waitress was so accommodating and nice and appeared to give honest feedback when asked about her dish preferences. By far the star of the show was the red snapper. I was scared it would be dry but boy was I wrong!!! It was seasoned to perfection and so hot and delicious...can't believe I almost passed on it. Located in Downtown Macon, parking is available via street parking. Finding a close spot on the weekend is like winning the Mega Million, possible, but don't count on it. We lucked up on this night and found a spot directly across from the restaurant. As we made our way to the entrance, we were unexpectedly greeted by a woman passionately yelling obscenities at us. Nothing like a little downtown ambiance to set the mood. Thankfully, the heavy police presence on every corner made me feel safe enough to proceed to the restaurant. Once inside, the chaos faded instantly. We were welcomed by a gregarious and friendly staff, informed them of our reservation, and were seated immediately. On this particular Saturday, they weren't overly busy, so we even had the luxury of choosing which booth best suited our comfort level. The atmosphere is intimate and upscale without being stuffy. Think dim lighting, elegant music, exposed ceilings, and décor that says "rustic charm" but also "yes, this entrée will cost more than $30." Our waiter was professional, attentive, and genuinely pleasant, the kind of service that makes you relax and stop checking the time. We started with cocktails: I ordered the strawberry lemon drop martini, and my husband opted for an old fashioned. Both were well-crafted, smooth, and strong enough to make us forget about the crazy lady outside. For appetizers, we each ordered the crab cake. You get one small crab cake, but it was tasty and respectable by Middle Georgia standards. Entrées are à la carte, so order accordingly. I ordered the Chilean sea bass with Brussels sprouts and spinach, while my husband chose the salmon with mashed potatoes and Brussels sprouts. Both fish dishes were cooked perfectly and tasted fresh, with sauces that paired beautifully. The Brussels sprouts were crispy, flavorful, and addictive. My husband said his mashed potatoes were possibly the creamiest he's ever had. All of the food was outstanding. Dessert options include their 3rd & Cherry cobbler, cheesecake, and crème brûlée. Heads up: desserts are made to order and take about 20 minutes. Translation, order dessert early unless you're prepared to sit there long enough to contemplate life choices. The restaurant and restrooms were clean, which always earns bonus points. Overall, we had a lovely experience at 3rd & Cherry. It's an excellent choice for a special occasion, date night, or anytime you want to feel a little fancy without leaving Middle Georgia. We'll definitely be back.
