Don't waste your time here at the Mayfield location! I've tried and tried to go here and love it like i used to but today will be the last time. As i write this i have been sitting here for 55 minutes and still have no food. I have a party of 3 we all got simple platters and i have watched groups of 2/3 get all their food when they have only been here 10/15 minutes. Server we have ain't paying attention and I've sat for 10 minutes with NO coffee. I can understand them being understaffed or super busy but there just not and this kind of service has happened more than once. Great experience! Our waiter Aiden was attentive but not too much. Hubby had the signature fried chicken with loaded baked potato & green beans - all good. I had chicken tenders with mashed potatoes, green beans & okra. The chicken might have been sitting under the warmer a little long, but they were still good. The Carolina BBQ sauce was my favorite; ranch was fine; comeback sauce I do not recommend. Biscuits were great, as usual. The manager also came by to check on us. Wait was longer than what we normally experience at Cracker Barrel. I ordered the Maple Chicken with one side, Bacon Mac n Cheese. The Maple Chicken was hot and fresh. The Mac n Cheese had no bacon and was lukewarm , the plate was hotter. My husband ordered the Friday night special Cod dinner. 2 of the pieces were Cod and were good. The other 2 pieces were catfish which he doesn't like. The manager was walking by and I stopped her and let her know. She immediately went to the kitchen to get 2 more pieces of Cod. Of course we were already done with our meal by the time it came. Unfortunately, it was not fully cooked. We had already gotten to go boxes so we just added it to them. Okay, let me give this location a real and updated review. I will admit when this location first opened there were a few shaky visits. But having worked in the restaurant business (a Cracker Barrel to be exact), I understand that when a new location opens there are MANY kinks to iron out. There was a HUGE serving turnover. Cracker Barrel is no piece of cake serving job. With that being said, most of the "bad" reviews are from then, when they first opened. Since then, I've been to this location several times and have never had a bad experience. The service is quick and attentive. I order the same breakfast every time and they are very consistent. My bacon is always truly crispy like I request. The biscuits are fresh and no, I don't mind waiting for a fresh batch to come out because those are the best. I've also ordered take out several times and am very specific on what I want, I've never had anything missing or wrong. I think other than good service and consistent food, the thing that stood out to me is how clean this location always is. The floor is clean, the tables are bussed and set up correctly, the bathrooms are spotless. This is rare at any restaurant and is a huge plus in my eyes. If you're local or just passing through on the interstate, the Mayfield Cracker Barrel will not disappoint, and if for some reason they do, the management is top notch and will take care of you! read more

Tonight we ordered curbside to go because it was late and we were in a hurry to get home. Once we got home, we were extremely disappointed in our meals from Cracker Barrel In Mayfield, KY. I have provided a picture of one of the pancakes, but we ordered two pancake meals with three pancakes each and they were all like the picture. The other two meals has chicken and sides. The chicken was okay, but the hash brown casserole was dried out and the squash casserole tasted terrible. I wouldn't recommend this location. read more

Very disappointed biscuits where hard and small the portion of the gravy was not even enough to cover biscuits,eggs looked like they had been heated up several times. Cracker Barrel are a good place to eat the mayfield location is not a typical Cracker Barrel. Long Horn, and Wilma's are the best all around. read more

If it was possible to give a 0 star review I would. Now, before you think I am a Karen, I normally don't do stuff like this. I try to give those in the service industry the benefit of the doubt, but this was just upsetting. When we initially made it to the restaurant, there was a long wait. The wait however wasn't awful- it's understandable and it gives the chance to look around the store. When our name was called, my family was able to sit down and we had our drink orders taken. After looking at our menus, our waitress - Nicole - took our order which consisted of the chicken dumplings, the grandma sampler, biscuit beignets, and I ordered the old timer special without any meat, and with a side of toast. As we awaited our food, which shouldn't have taken very long as it was scrambled eggs and chicken dumplings(which was on the board labeled under what to order if you want something quick) another table that ordered after us got their food first. Our waitress then came up to us and said that the reason it was taking so long was because they got roast and apparently roast didn't take long to cook. When our food finally arrived, I was given eggs and bacon, and my sister was given gravy and grits. We then stated how I didn't order the bacon, and how my sister ordered the grandma sampler. Nicole then came out with the rest of our food, giving my sister the sunrise sampler (or something like that) with a plate of pancakes, and my moms chicken dumplings. She then came back out with toast, and when we said that my sister got the grandma sampler and not the sunrise thing, she said "no that's what I have written down" then left. When we begun to eat, the chicken dumplings were poorly done. The pancakes were ok, but the other meat my sister was given was old. We also had to flag down another waiter, as ours would not return and we had not received syrup or jelly. As we ate, my sister heard her say "oh sorry your food was taking so long we actually had to cook it" to another customer, and "I don't do much around here, it's a waiting game." Hearing that after our bad food and never receiving biscuits and hash browns that came with the meal was upsetting. And finally, the biscuit beignets were raw! When we received our check, we saw that our waitress did have the grandma sampler written, but why would she try to say that we ordered something else when we clearly didn't? Consistently horrible service since it's opening; a short visit for breakfast shouldn't take over an hour and fifteen minutes; nor should it take 15 minutes to even see your waitress, then another 15 to get your drinks, then have every request such as butter, refills, and other amenities simply blown off. Not only the worst Cracker Barrel I've been too, but the worst dining experience I've ever had to suffer through (keep in mind I've been to most between West Ky and Orlando , and West Ky and Iowa as well). This location needs to desperately shut down to retrain staff and reopen with staff and management that knows how to serve the public read more
