I guess now I can say I've been to Cook Out. We stopped by for a late lunch while visiting Murray for a college track meet. I'm guessing the young man at the counter was new and had difficulty putting our order in the their POS system. Another employee came over and helped him out. Amazingly cheap, yet good quality "diner" food. It's a perfect restaurant for a college town like Murray. On my visit I got a double cheeseburger, cheese curds, chicken quesadilla, and a blueberry shake; all for about $5. What?!? The burger was better than most fast food burgers. The curds were good with a nice fried breading on the outside, and ooey gooey cheese on the inside. The quesadilla was decent. The blueberry shake was top notch. Very rich and creamy ice cream with good texture along with my favorite fruit added. They have so many flavors of shakes too. Sadly, there are no Cook Out restaurants where I live in Missouri. We had the Cheddar burger. It was good. The sautéed onions kind of took over the burger flavor. The fries were the perfect crisp..we had both the original and the Cajun fries. The milkshakes were delicious just very thick couldn't drink them with a straw, had to use a spoon. I had the peanut butter which was delicious my husband had the chocolate malt and my daughter chocolate. We will occasionally return to try a different burger. read more

Recently moved from the West and had never been to a Cook Out before. Seems like a great place for a college town like Murray. Good food for cheap. Cheeseburger was good, smash burger style and I would compare it to a steak and shake basic burger. Cajun fry's we're crispy, and very good. Quesadilla is an excellent choice if you're on the road or eating on the go. Nice compact packaging and easy to eat with one hand. All in all, great experience and recommended. read more

Okay, now I understand this place. Good food, lots of choices, AND CHEAP! Why wasn't this here 20 yeas ago when I was in college? I stopped through at 9:30, so there wasn't a crowd at all. I had the double cheeseburger, which was good. When I ordered, though, dude asked what my two sides would be. 2 sides on a combo that was only $4.99 to start! I had a bacon/ranch wrap and onion rings. That and a drink was just $5! Two people could have eaten and been fine! Crazy amount of food for the price! The building is new, so the place looks modern and fresh inside. The service was extra polite and very fast. I didn't try the milkshakes, but I will next time! I am never going back to this restaurant. The food is so so, the service is bad, and the look of the restaurant is dirty.

It is very affordable and my husband absolutely loves the food. Plus, they have hushpuppies and at a great price to boot. The prices are great but I, personally, don't eat meat. I go there for my husband's food and for the milkshakes. They can make you any milkshake your mind can dream up. read more

I came here visiting my sister at Murray and we stopped here. The burger was as expected. Really good but basic. I also ordered onion rings and they were absolutely delicious! I stopped going here back in 2014, the place each time I went inside it got nastier upon each visit. All I ever seen where kids running the place, I never seen an adult employee. Things where not wiped down, trash over flowing from the trash cans, and what done it for me was the men's room urinal. The bathroom looked like it hadn't been cleaned since they built the place one to two years before, the urinal had built up on top of it a yellowish film, that I swear, no kidding, you could have taken a paint scrapper and scraped off of it, it was disgusting, after seeing that, I didn't even order, I walked out and left and have never been back. Loved their shakes though but other places have ice cream. 0 stars if I could rate it that way. read more
