    Steak tips for build-own-breakfast
    kristin c.

Went for a breakfast and a dinner during our long drive. We liked the convenience since near the NJ Turnpike, good quick meals at good prices. I added steak tips to a dinner meal for about $6. Excellent service at this location. From the merchandise store employees to the waitstaff who were very attentive and pleasant. I had an issue with my order and it was replaced right away and comped too. I have their app and was able to use "pegs" for complimentary drinks, and used an email offer for % off. Yes to discounts of course!

Nashville Hot Chicken (surprise not a sandwhich)

Food was not the best to say the least I got the Nashville hot chicken and the chicken was super oily and fatty and the sides (fries and Mac&Cheese) were small portions and tasted terribly so. Not all negatives the ambiance is great giving a cozy feel and our server Patrick was a rock star unfortunately the food fell flat and ended up just leaving after a bite or two. Stick with the breakfast items if you come here and it'll be awhile till I provide my commerce here again.

Not gonna lie with all 29 years of my life and the many times I've been to Cracker Barrel. This was the best experience I've ever had with our server named SCOTTY! I would give him 5 stars myself. Cheerful and checked on us. I really appreciate the service along with the fresh and fast food. Not a single problem! Thank you so much Scotty. I hope to get you every time

I came to Cracker Barrel with my mother and her friend and my girlfriend for lunch. Lunch is a special time I get to spend with my mother. Let's talk about the food first off let me start with the silverware. My mother's silverware was filthy and our waitress was nowhere to be found luckily Daniel took care of it, he was the real rockstar of the day. Our wait time for simple pancakes was 45 mins... Let's get back to the food. My mother ordered pecan pancakes which came super burnt and she never got her pecan syrup and she is allergic to eggs which there was a piece of egg on her plate with her bacon. My mom ate the pancakes but couldn't finish them and she threw up in the bathroom after eating. It wasn't just her because I ate my pancakes as well and felt nauseous afterwords but mine weren't as badly burnt as hers. My scrambled eggs were drippy and runny which made me not want them at all. My sausage looked uncooked, it looked like it was still alive and tasted nasty, I didn't eat it. My girlfriend's meal had the same problems and my mom's friend never got his toast as well. Everything was a mess and the waitress was nowhere to be found like she was avoiding us, my mom had to call over Daniel and he was a total rockstar trying his best to make it a great experience. He should get a raise because he tried his best to make our experience better. We called over the manager Lee who was friendly and was shocked at hearing about our experience. He is aware of the issues and is going to make sure it doesn't happen again. He comped our meal and made it right and asked us to come back again next time. I will come back in the future thanks to the manager and the rockstar server Daniel who tried to make things better. I hope next time will be a better experience as I love Cracker Barrel and me and my family enjoy coming here. When I come back in the future I'll review it again and hopefully it will be a much better experience.

Now I get it! I never understood the hype about Cracker Barrel because I hadn't experienced it. Now that I have.... Ohhhhh I see and understand the hype. The food was good, portions were generous, service was good and the cost was beyond reasonable. I went with the steak, eggs whites and hash browns. It was sooooo good. I didn't need to add or take away anything! Our table was nice and cozy. Off to the side but still in the thick of the action. I'll definitely add Cracker Barrel to all of my roadtrip itineraries.

I've been here a while ago. Thought this would be a good choice to take mom on a Sat afternoon. The ambiance is always a southern restaurant kinda place to me. Wooden furniture throughout. Spacious seating between customers. I didn't feel like i was seating up on anyone. Mom had the Apple French toast. It looked good on the menu photo. It was not as good looking on the plate. She took a couple of bites and told it taste like it was burnt. When I turned it over, it was. The manager was kind enough to remove it from the check and allowed mom to get 5 wings and mash potatoes to go. I had the chicken pot pie. And that, I can say, was really good. It's really, really good. Flaky thin crust on top of chunks of chicken and veggies and tasty gravy. I almost ordered a second one to go. It was that good. A side of fried sweet apples had the southern flavor. The sweet tea was not so sweet. But overall, it was not too bad an experience. Would try this place again.

Staff was friendly and on point from beginning to end. They do take the dress code seriously, I saw people get turned away for athletic wear. It's clear on their website and not asking too much for an upscale night out. Prices weren't ridiculous, especially since portions were plentiful. A lot of people were leaving with leftovers. The specialty drinks are a bit pricey tho. The cornbread and Mac n cheese are a must order the moment you sit down to start things off. Both served in a small skillet, perfect to share. The cornbread bread was flavorful and the butter that comes on top you def want to let that melt right in! The Mac n cheese noodles were a little softer than I would of preferred but the blend of cheeses and the crisp crust on top made me not worry about the doneness of the noodles, it was top notch! We went classic with the entrees - catfish with gulf shrimp. The catfish was cooked perfect super tender and flaky. I wasn't thrilled with the shrimp, for "gulf shrimp" as they listed in the menu they were a lot Smaller than I expected and a little tough. The sauce they came in was nice. I would have liked some kind of sauce on the side for the catfish. The collard green rice was delicious and the broccoli that came with it was prob the most delicious broccoli I've ever had, just cooked well in lots of butter! The other entree we got was the fried chicken. Really delicious and tender. It came with a sweet potato side that was yummy and a classic collard greens Even tho we were stuffed we had to try the bread pudding, it was served with a Side of delicious ice cream. The bread pudding was perfect! I would definitely return even just to eat and try more menu items but the jazz club is a must do! Beautifully decorated and classy establishment all around

People love this place ... I say that because we were there late afternoon during the week and it was busy ... and it kept getting busier. I do understand why folks love it tho, because there's no other real seafood "shack" in the area specifically where folks can get their blue claw crabs. It truly does look and feel like a seafood shack because the wooden walls, brown paper on the table, paper towels on the table and overall decor scream "We are at the beach in a small southern town in the middle of nowhere where" lol Our server was great! She was very attentive and made recommendations... she was also very patient with us given that this was our first time here and we're a bit undecided on what we wanted to order. Now on to the food - this is honestly where I was underwhelmed. The broiled seafood had a whisper of flavor, the crab cake left a lot to be desired and the garlic buffalo shrimp were overwhelmingly buffalo sauce on top of fried shrimp. Now the clam chowder I had was amazing and I even ordered some to go. My friend enjoyed her crab legs meal overall and perhaps if we visit again that's the route I'll go. Oh and it's also a BYOB , so, be sure to grab your favorite bottle and bring it on in.

Groovy Southern food meets refined semi-upscale downtown. What do we get?…read moreBreaded okra. Kiss my grits, but we aren't always talking BBQ when we're in the South. I've had me some soul food in Mississippi and 'Bama, though at a fraction of the price you get up North. Look, it's a Montclair thing. Pluses: Black owned restaurant serving cultural staples, plus foods for people who don't want Southern. Ambiance featured soul music, and at one point was playing Shaft! I can dig it. You're not left wanting for food quantity or quality. Plenty of shrimp in the grits, for example. Server was very pleasant to talk to with a little Southern twang to her voice. Why not five stars: Flavor needs deepening. For example, in the South I'm used to seeing okra chopped and breaded before being fried. Maybe more oily that way, more carbs... but more flavor as a result. I had the pulled chicken mac, which was a bit smaller of a dish overall (a bit intentional on my part) - and while the cheese flavors run deep, the meat did not. Shrimp and grits, I took a quick sample of my friend's grits and... I bet you can guess my finding there. Still, a very nice change from the usual Northern selection of foods. I would not hesitate to say Sweet T's is authentic and a nice visit if you're in town. You'll be paying a pretty penny wherever you eat, so you can tag this one on your list.

The place is really well put together and is a very handsome bar it's mostly very wooden and heavy duty. The ambience is something for everyone on the TV or you can just chitchat. They even have this little side room that is nice but beware and bring a coat or a sweater cause it does get chilly in there. They're always seems like a really great group of people there and our favorite waitress is KB/Kristen. She is truly amazing and very attentive, but not annoying. We love their chicken fajitas and steak fajitas, the Cheesesteaks are delish! But My Newest Favorite for the Moment..... is the "We Jammin Burger". It has bacon onion Jam on it and it is amazing! I didn't think that I would like it as Much as I do! But I Realllllllly Do! I'm not really a burger fan... like my husband Is, But THIS BURGER..... has been a Game changer for Me. Warning: Make room in your fridge... because You will definitely bring leftovers home. This meal can feed a family of 4 Easily!! Their Cajun quesadilla is delicious and it does have a nice little zing. Their traditional wings are amazing and their beef stew is delicious and very hearty. We have tried many of their specialties. The Hail Mary is a delicious Caesar salad on top of chicken cutlets and their Broccoli Chicken Cheesesteak is amazing. I recommend you get it pressed on the grill and that way it won't fall out as you bite each delicious bite. I would say 80 to 90% of the visits that we have had at this amazing establishment. We always bring home leftovers. So be aware that you were going to have lunch for tomorrow. You will get to the point where you will just think of something to eat that they have on their menu and your mouth will just start to drool. We definitely recommend going. I'm not a huge drinker so I really can't say much as for their drinks but everyone there seems very happy and the portions are huge. The portion sizes were generous; both my burger and the Cheesesteak Deluxe were large enough that we brought leftovers home from both entrées. Cons: Unfortunately, the drinks were not good. I ordered a Downeast Cider on tap and it tasted like the line may not have been cleaned recently. My companion ordered a cosmopolitan that was essentially undrinkable--extremely strong and not well balanced. We later learned the bartender is new, so hopefully that improves with experience. The wings were also served cold, and the Jammin' burger came out without the bacon jam that's supposed to be a key part of the dish. The restaurant itself is also very tight quarters. If you prefer more personal space or feel more comfortable in places where it's easy to move around or exit quickly, this may not be the best spot for you. Overall: The staff was very attentive and clearly tried to make things right after several mistakes occurred. They comped our soda, appetizer, and dessert, which we appreciated. However, given the number of issues during one visit, I'm not sure we'd return.
