First time my husband and I were at Bloom and I promise we will be back. Having been to New Orleans more than once, we were curious as to how the food would compare. We were delighted to find that Bloom is incredibly delicious! The BBQ shrimp, mushroom soup, and mac & cheese were all done to perfection. The buttermilk biscuits with locally sourced strawberry jam were reason enough to give Bloom five stars! Service was great. Attentive and informative. We stopped at Blooms for happy hour on 2 consecutive Fridays. McKenzie was our bartender/server the first Friday and boy was she crazy busy! She made delicious cocktails. Even though she was so busy she never showed it to her customers. The following Friday I believe our bartender/server was Dee ( I think), she also was on point and busy. There were 2 managers on, John and Kevin, they made themselves available and I watched John jump in to help behind the bar. They talked to their patrons and made you feel welcome. Food was delicious, served hot and in a timely fashion We like the bar area, very nicely decorated and I like that there are outlets available at your barstool to charge your cell and a place to hang your purse. What a lovely restaurant, and beautiful atmosphere. The service is very friendly and the food menu has a variety of choices. However, it's only one page and they do have specials for the day. The drink menu is available as well. The food is so delish, being a southerner, I wasn't sure what to expect. I was not disappointed. They put their own flare to the traditional southern cuisine and it was delish. I can't wait to go back and try the other dishes as well. We spent about an hour and a half here with a normal wait when it wasn't too busy, though our table was a bit close to the door. The cheese board stood out as one of the top three I've ever had. From the homemade crackers to the candied nuts, every element tasted thoughtfully prepared and house-made. The couch-style seating made it feel less like dining out and more like a cozy family dinner at home. Edit (a few days later): 90% sure I got food poisoning from here. Have been meaning to try Bloom for years and am so glad I finally did! We had a delicious dinner here, the highlights being the brussel sprouts and the burger. I've had my fair share of brussel sprouts but these are some of the best I've had! And the burger was absolutely divine. It's huge so I was only able to finish half, but I reheated the other half the next day and it was just as good. The ambiance is great inside, the decor is so cute and very southern farm house. Been to Bloom in the past and was great in prior years. Went yesterday had the Chicken and Waffles. The waffles were dry; the chicken was burnt. Then got the Beignets for dessert and they were hard. Had to cut through them with a knife. Not sure what's going on but didn't meet the expectations that I had come to expect from the restaurant from past visits. Stopped here for a date night. Service was a bit slow, but the food made up for it. They were all very kind and loved conversation with us. They had an extensive alcohol menu and we loved their cocktails! Jolly good is what I would recommend. The rosemary made it. I missed attaching a photo, but the potato salad was amazing! Another great experience at Bloom!! I went for lunch here last week and had a great experience. The mimosas hit the spot as always! We tried the jalapeno corn hush puppies to start and they were awesome! I loved the chipotle mayo it came with. For my entree, I had the Nashville Hot Chicken sandwich. This is SPICY! Way hotter than most "spicy" things in this area and I loved it. The chicken was super crispy and it is a very large portion. You can pick any side dish to go with it and the cajun fries were the perfect pair. I loved the dipping sauce they came with! I can't wait to continue to come back to this restaurant! Most restaurants around here don't do brunch during the week so this is a much needed addition to the neighborhood! read more

My wife had the Deconstructed Chicken Pot Pie- which was very good but won't be for every one- it's basically chicken with herb gravy, vegetables and a biscuit served separately that you then put together. The waitress talked very fast - it was hard to understand what she was saying. The short rib with mashed potato and a side order of greens was passable. Some confusion caused a second biscuit to be delivered - later we found out that it was $8 and not a good taste. Also had crab cake appetizer - the crab cakes also did not taste good, and the sauce on the side made the taste worse; the surrounding salad was also not appetizing. Our first visit since this place was Eagle Tavern...yea, I know... First, let me say, what a great waitstaff. Our server Sara was exceptionally exceptional. She's been working here for a week and has absorbed the menu to an incredible degree, is gregarious and as pleasant as can be. And the other servers and front of house managers were all pleasant, helpful and never stopped finding something to do. Additionally, the place is in spectacular condition inside and out. Now, the food. My companion had the boudin balls appy, and the crabcakes. The boudin balls with the accompanying grits and pepper jelly were a wonderful bite. She enjoyed the crabcakes although from my perch they looked to be a bit more filler than crab. I had the arugula and beet salad, and the beef short ribs. The salad was fresh and with the sliced pear and blue cheese offered a verity of textures and sweet and bitter goodness; highly recommended. The short ribs, while tender, weren't well seasoned and came with large chunks of unrendered fat. All in all, thanks to Sara and her coworkers, a good first visit. read more

The only reason I am giving Bloom Southern Kitchen two stars is because of the fresh fried oysters and cocktail. They were very good. I was excited to try this restaurant and liked the ambience. Unfortunately it fell flat. It started off with our main courses being brought out mid appetizer. The crab cakes did not have much crab and the horseradish over powered them. The half chicken was hot and well cooked but all the other food on the place was lukewarm. Despite not eating most of the food the waitress did not ask us how our dinner was and rushed us out. :( A restaurant at this caliber should do a much better job with basics, we were very disappointed. read more

I am so glad I visited here. The place is fantastic. Elegant southern ambiance and flawless friendly service and staff. They have 3 menus, lunch, late afternoon light menu that starts 3pm and dinner menu that starts 5pm. One of the best whiskey and bourbon lists I've ever seen. Worthy of a Louisville or a Vegas place. That just there is worth the visit. I had the double burger and maybe in the best patties I've ever had. Juicy, fresh and natural taste. Also the bread was so soft but the top was crunchy. Went to check it out as a possible gathering space with friends after an upcoming event. Beautiful space with attentive servers. Ordered a few small plates for variety and to be able to take half home for an afternoon picnic. Delicious! Crab cakes were my favorite because they were the deviled kind. Hush puppies had bits of ham so good! The only downside was my own fault...I saw fried green tomatoes and was too excited to read the full description that they were pickled. So I was caught off guard by the brininess/saltiness which transferred to the deviled eggs that I ate after the tomatoes. Will definitely be back with guests for a full meal. read more

Having lived in the South for over 20 years, it is nice to get Southern-style food from time to time. Bloom has been consistently good since we first tried their food. This was the first time dining in since all the previous times I had their food was take out. We had a small table for two in a private space. They still seem to have maintained the distance between the tables that was mandatory during COVID. I like this because it is more comfortable for us when we do not feel like we are crammed next to other diners. We had the Spicy Deviled Eggs and Shrimp and Grits.
