The food was great, but service from our specific server was lacking. We dined in with our allergy baby, perused the allergy menu and had to clarify multiple times that our daughter cannot have milk along with other foods. We specifically requested a water for our child and had to wait for straw for everyone (especially the kids cup) and received only two straws leaving us missing one. Our server was not very good. Drinks were left unfilled and we had to ask for coffee refills and have it filled by another server. The food was good ol' Cracker Barrel quality. Pancakes were perfectly sized and with crispy edges, fries were piping hot and the bacon was delightful. I have been to many Cracker Barrels, however this is the most friendly servers I have ever met. Ivanna our server was the absolute best. We went 2 days in a row and we asked for her the second time. Came by here before hitting up Dollywood and had a real Hardy breakfast. We were sat instantly, and I entertained myself by failing miserably at the peg game that this restaurant is known for. Our server was so sweet, we all had the same meal, the grandma sampler and it was divine. We also had an order of biscuits and jam. Everything was cooked very fresh, of course lots of butter, syrup and sugar, but delicious nonetheless. The iced coffee was also made just right, when I asked her for a to go cup to take the rest of mine, she brought out an entirely new coffee. Everybody was really sweet! This was the worst food I've ever had from Cracker Barrel. I am from out of town and wanted something good. So naturally, my first thought went to Cracker Barrel, big mistake. I have eaten at so many and never had 1 complaint. I ordered the same thing I usually order, Country Fried Steak, sweet potato, and baked apples. The gravy was like pudding and cold, disgusting. The steak was over fried, dry, and hard as heck to cut. My sweet potato was cold, as was the baked apples. Also, no butter for my potato. We also ordered 2 Country Fried Steak Meals and another meal . We only received 1 Country Fried meal. This whole experience was horrible. The place was extremely crowded Sunsay morning for brunch, had about a 30 min wait, that I happily spent in the store. After we were seated, it took us sometime to decide what we wanted, they have an expansive menu, but our server was friendly and helpful. My husband got the Sunrise sampler, and I got the Egg-in-the-basket. We loved both the items we ordered, specifically liked that we got to try a bunch of items with the Sunrise sampler. The biscuits and gravy were so good. I had not had fried apples before, I liked it a lot. We also got lemonade, perfect refresher on a hot summer day, it was so good. We were in Gatlinburg and was just driving through Pigeon Forge for breakfast and hubby suggested to go to Cracker Barrel. I've never eaten at a Cracker Barrel before so why not? It's been a while for him too. So it's a little store and then the restaurant is on the side. We were seated right in front of the fireplace. The place is ran by older folks which is cool. They were all very welcoming and nice. Cracker Barrel has typical breakfast food. To me, I think Americans love breakfast food a lot. For Asians, we just eat the same food all day haha. 2 words. DON'T GO!!! I don't even know where to start. Mary the server was unable to help us with choices and to answer questions because it was a new menu. What? When food was brought, the tray was tipped and plates were sliding off. I was taking the plates off of the tray and setting them in front of appropriate person. Thank goodness the fried pickles were awesome because the Broccoli cheese rice premium side was an extra charge, super small and burnt. Asked if we could swap the burnt premium side for baked potato. Sure, no problem. Didn't get the potato until we were leaving. Never got a refill on waters, asked several times. She said she was working on getting our potato. For 20 minutes, ok, so...where's the potato and I still don't have my refill. My sister went and found Mary to get the water refilled and she said she would bring it out. Here's the glass, can you pour it in? She never came out to refill. Charged for the burnt premium side. Asked for them to take it off and then charged for the wrong meal. Omg!! Make the nightmare stop. Paid for 1 of the meals with a gift card and was told there was no balance left on card. Um....wrong....try again. We stop by Cracker Barrel every time we are in Tennessee. It's a bit of a tradition in our family. I'm a big fan of the chicken and dumplings. Which is particularly why I can't give 5 stars for this visit. The store staff and manager deserves 5 stars, everyone was wonderful. Despite how busy it was, the restaurant still felt very relaxed and calm inside. My kids love the Knick knacks on the walls and the peg game at the table. It did take a bit to get our drinks ordered but that gave us time to figure out what everyone was ordering. They were busy with other tourists pouring in so we get it. No big deal. So we placed our orders all at once when we did get to order our drinks. Two of us got our meals and another ten minutes went by when our other two meals came out. When mine arrived it was cold. The mashed potatoes were hard on top, and the gravy had turned into a solid. The chicken and dumplings were the coldest and had gotten very solid and gelatinous from firming up as they got cold and the Mac and cheese had firmed up and was actually very cold as well. I would've eaten it even warm, I'm not too picky, but this was actually like room temp cold and I didn't want to risk illness from food that's not a safe temperature. Not to mention texture wise it's just unpleasant eating that particular food cold. But the waiter brought back a hot plate quickly once we told him! Something just wasn't kosher about the flavor. I'm wondering if Cracker Barrel as a company has changed the Chicken and Dumplings recipe? It tasted like it didn't have any salt or was significantly watered down? There was no chicken flavor to it. And reminded me of pasta water you drain out when cooking, or like flour water. It was so odd. I get this dish every time we come and it's never been bland in flavor like that. It's literally the only bad experience I've had here. After the second plate came out very weird like twice microwaved in texture, I did speak to the manager and he was wonderful and seemed to care a lot! He brought me out a whole new plate, with fresh sides this time right away. Flavor was still unusual for the chicken and dumplings but I was happy to have fresh food at that point. I had to box it up and eat it on the go because we'd been there for a while but I was super impressed with how the manager handled it. The store staff was also super sweet to my kids and helped them find special little souvenirs some little toy trains. I look forward to coming back here, and won't let one weird meal ruin a long standing tradition for us, as good as this particular Cracker Barrel has been to us over the years. read more

Super friendly, attentive to details and when there was a mistake with the meal she was quickly to correct it she kept the drinks full and checked on us with the perfect amount of timing. We chose CB as our first breakfast stop here in the PF area bc we know we can always count on CB being good. As always, it was. But what really made this trip special to us was the employees! From the hostess that sat us that took the time to acknowledge what we had experienced driving up a mountain the night before to the waiter that was awesome at his job. Daniel is one of our top waitstaff we've ever had! My husband drinks quite a bit of liquids while eating, Daniel was always on top of it. He was very efficient. We love Cracker Barrel. This one has the biggest store part in the country per the store employee. We travel all throughout the year, and Cracker Barrels are present in most states. Not all are the same. Don't understand why since all their locations are company owned?? I guess the local District Managers operate their stores based on their lack of skills. We went to this "Tourist Trap" location last week. Went inside and asked to be put on the wait list, for a party of 2. We were told an hour and a half wait. So were the other 4 parties that arrived after us. We went outside to wait and noticed in the main dining room, there were 4 uncleared tables waiting to be cleaned. Then in the corner dining room all the tables were empty! The room above that, had some empty tables, not the dedicated "COVID" tables. I called the phone number for the dining room and asked why all the unoccupied tables, why the dirty tables were not being cleaned for another guest. I was told that the manager has cut back on staff and they don't have any staff to work those tables! Sounds like poor scheduling. So the mindset is let the guest wait, if they leave, others will replace them. So it's not about serving the guest, it's about payroll, yet more gross sales means more $ to pay for the payroll. Once again, poor management decisions. read more
