The outside is very quaint and appealing. They have a little photo cutout you can use to take photos and an outside game area. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was okay, but the wait staff and kitchen staff were a bit loud - almost yelling at one another to talk and was a small disturbance. The food was okay. It would be nice if they offered the full "meat" menu instead of a portion each day. While I am sure this is due to preventing waste, it's still manageable to offer a larger range to select from than 3 meats. The pricing is average for "all you can eat"; it comes to about $25/person before a tip. This includes their biscuits, summer salad, the two meats for the table, four sides for the table, drinks, and dessert.

As folks who visit Pigeon Forge 3-4 times a year, we had never been to Mama's Farmhouse until this past week. Holy moly. I am so sad that we had never been here before. We went on a weekday morning before 10. We got the breakfast served family style. This started with pinwheels (YUM), jelly/jam, and apples. So so good! We could have as much of anything they brought that we wanted. Our server was excellent and had us in stitches the whole time. It was very reasonably priced in my opinion, considering you could eat all you wanted and kids 5 and below were free. The atmosphere was like being at your mountain grandmas house and it warmed my heart as I looked around at family photos, the little lace valances, and the coziness of the restaurant. To top it off, my daughter was told "if ya eat good, you get to go to the toy box!" Lo and behold, there was a toy chest in the foyer filled with all the trinkets a nearly 4 year old could want. There is plenty of seating inside to wait, as well as seating on the porch, complete with a play area to the side to pass time before or after a meal with family. We had a blast and can't wait to come back next time!

Every time we have visited in the past, we have done the all-you-can-eat thing, choosing your meats and sides and they're brought out in individual bowls. This time, we went with the Blue Plate option: you choose your meat and sides (2 or 3) and they bring it on one plate. So it's the same food, except smaller portions, and cheaper. We had already decided we wanted a steak for dinner (see my review for The Cherokee Grill in Gatlinburg!) so this portion size was perfect! We got the fried chicken we were craving, but without being too stuffed for dinner that night. Win-win! As usual, service was sweet, fast, and friendly. Yet another great lunch at Mama's Farmhouse!

The biscuits were good but we didn't care for the syrup that was brought out with them. My drink came out wrong, TWICE (it was just supposed to be a sweet tea and lemonade). My little one spilled his drink because the lid wasn't on all the way and they just left the puddle there at our feet (at least bring me napkins and I will clean it up! But doing nothing is wild to me). and after I let them know about the spill I still had to make another request for him to get a new drink. The chicken was dry, the corn was over cooked, the Salisbury steak was also a bit dry and very small. We were very disappointed. The Mac n cheese was good as was the sweet potatoes and the desserts but my gosh, how can you be a southern momma's kitchen and get so much wrong?? We won't be back and I can't recommend this place.

We had no idea this was buffet style food service, but the food was amazing and the staff were friendly and great. All the food we had tasted home cooked.

Nope!! Never again! My husband and I ate here for dinner while visiting in October. We were going to a place next door that was packed, so we decided to go here instead. Bad decision. The food was not good. We were very disappointed in the quality and taste. All I can say is...don't do it.

Skimpy pieces of chicken...the white meat was a breast cut into thirds, and they kept trying to give us these wings.

So I researched fried chicken places for a while and heard this place was supposed to be great on both Yelp and Reddit...After going there, I can only assume most of these yelp reviews are paid for or were from Yankees who have never had good fried chicken. We were greated by our server, Maggie, who dropped some of our biscuits when she introduced herself. She said she was going to bring replacements. She didn't bother. While I didn't follow up on it because of the amount of other food we got, a server shouldn't be saying they will do something and not doing it. It also meant my youngest daughter didn't get her own biscuit. This seemed to be a theme of the night as Maggie kept bringing out skimpy plates with food for 3 instead of 4 (which was also weird bc other tables seemed to have heaping portions of food). The chicken portions were tiny and I'd have had to ask for 3-4 refill plates if I actually wanted to fill up on chicken (which I didn't, see below). But if this was the worst of it, I'd have been happy. I asked Maggie what her favorite sides were and she said she didn't really eat the food there...this was a red flag that I shouldn't have ignored. And after eating the food, it all made sense. We got our meal: fried chicken, fried fish, and Salisbury steak. The fried chicken just wasn't good. It was lacking salt, and spice generally. I've had better chicken at both Publix and Popeyes. The rest of the food was equally bland. The fish was probably the best of the bunch. The Mac and cheese, sweet potato casserole, Salisbury steak all tasted like something out of a bad buffet. Also, I should say that while I didn't complain to Maggie about any of this, it was because she kinda warned us when she said she didn't eat the food there. She knew. We should have listened. The best way I can describe this place is to say it's a terrible tourist trap...a crappier version of Cracker Barrel with better biscuits. I was angry by the end of the meal, because we've been to great food in this area (Bustin Butts BBQ, and Applewood Farmhouse) and I felt duped with flavorless chicken and bland buffet food. I'm giving the place two stars only b/c the biscuits were pretty good as was the banana pudding (the other desserts were trash). I wouldn't go back to this place if you paid me.

For once in Pigeon Forge, I have ate something that actually tasted distinguishable. If you blind-folded me and had me take a bite out of different burgers from different burger joints, I could guess this one with no hesitation. However, one notable throw-off i had was that the burger had a weird aftertaste of tuna. I ordered the smash burger and it had the perfect amount of grease that doesn't drench you, but keeps up with freshness and taste. And the reason I wanted to write this review was for the french fries. Tired of soggy fries? This place puts the FRY in french fries. They maintained a delicious level of crunch and crisp (if that's your gusto) and didn't have that same refrigerator taste. I also ordered cheese curds and they had the most amazing cheese pull and tasted great! The service was excellent too, unlike some servers, they don't abandon you and they keep up with you and refills / clearing the table. If there's anything I appreciate more, it's waiters and waitresses that (even if they don't) act like they cherish their job! And if you yearn for a setting that makes you in the mood for adventure.. or a bear lover.. this place has attracting visuals so you aren't trapped in a minimalist setting. Overall, if you're up for trying new flavors and advancing your taste buds' vocabulary, I recommend The Fat Bear Family Tavern!

Gordon Ramsey would consider it a threat. As a chewy bacon lover and enthusiast, when my bacon came out charred and demented, i was appalled to say the least. I had to drench it in the white gravy so it would give my stomach the illusion of chewy. Even then, even with the request of chewy, i was let down. The home fries were exceptional.. as exceptional as any other home fry you'll get on the Pigeon Forge strip. And why? They'll all the same refrigerated chips of processed mess. Soggy, not even crisp. So poor you'd hope the microwave would add additional flavors from all the other food they microwaved. I wouldn't even praise the food if paid me, it's sad enough i paid IT to taste like wet squeaky boots. But anyways the atmosphere was just bewildering! They have a big exhibit with birds you can watch. Sometimes they're loud and a bit squawk-y but it doesn't deplete the experience. This is my internal conflict with a certain drink on the menu. The Monster. This satanic abomination soup of a beverage really tempted me. I drink energy drinks and was excited to try a Monster! I mean.. we're all a little adventurous deep down.. human nature! Wrong. Apparently.. With full fledged confidence.. as much as you'd expect at a busy bar playing BINGO.. I asked the waitress for a Monster energy drink. Big. Mistake. I get it.. I took an unsuspecting picture of the beast waiting.. opened it.. and took a sip. If you were to ask me, giving somebody a pedicure with your MOUTH would taste no different than a can of this monstrosity. Maybe I recommend the restaurant.. but I don't recommend the Monster.
