The outside is very quaint and appealing. They have a little photo cutout you can use to take photos and an outside game area. The hostess was friendly and welcoming. Our waitress was okay, but the wait staff and kitchen staff were a bit loud - almost yelling at one another to talk and was a small disturbance. The food was okay. It would be nice if they offered the full "meat" menu instead of a portion each day. While I am sure this is due to preventing waste, it's still manageable to offer a larger range to select from than 3 meats. The pricing is average for "all you can eat"; it comes to about $25/person before a tip. This includes their biscuits, summer salad, the two meats for the table, four sides for the table, drinks, and dessert.

As folks who visit Pigeon Forge 3-4 times a year, we had never been to Mama's Farmhouse until this past week. Holy moly. I am so sad that we had never been here before. We went on a weekday morning before 10. We got the breakfast served family style. This started with pinwheels (YUM), jelly/jam, and apples. So so good! We could have as much of anything they brought that we wanted. Our server was excellent and had us in stitches the whole time. It was very reasonably priced in my opinion, considering you could eat all you wanted and kids 5 and below were free. The atmosphere was like being at your mountain grandmas house and it warmed my heart as I looked around at family photos, the little lace valances, and the coziness of the restaurant. To top it off, my daughter was told "if ya eat good, you get to go to the toy box!" Lo and behold, there was a toy chest in the foyer filled with all the trinkets a nearly 4 year old could want. There is plenty of seating inside to wait, as well as seating on the porch, complete with a play area to the side to pass time before or after a meal with family. We had a blast and can't wait to come back next time!

Every time we have visited in the past, we have done the all-you-can-eat thing, choosing your meats and sides and they're brought out in individual bowls. This time, we went with the Blue Plate option: you choose your meat and sides (2 or 3) and they bring it on one plate. So it's the same food, except smaller portions, and cheaper. We had already decided we wanted a steak for dinner (see my review for The Cherokee Grill in Gatlinburg!) so this portion size was perfect! We got the fried chicken we were craving, but without being too stuffed for dinner that night. Win-win! As usual, service was sweet, fast, and friendly. Yet another great lunch at Mama's Farmhouse!

The biscuits were good but we didn't care for the syrup that was brought out with them. My drink came out wrong, TWICE (it was just supposed to be a sweet tea and lemonade). My little one spilled his drink because the lid wasn't on all the way and they just left the puddle there at our feet (at least bring me napkins and I will clean it up! But doing nothing is wild to me). and after I let them know about the spill I still had to make another request for him to get a new drink. The chicken was dry, the corn was over cooked, the Salisbury steak was also a bit dry and very small. We were very disappointed. The Mac n cheese was good as was the sweet potatoes and the desserts but my gosh, how can you be a southern momma's kitchen and get so much wrong?? We won't be back and I can't recommend this place.

We had no idea this was buffet style food service, but the food was amazing and the staff were friendly and great. All the food we had tasted home cooked.

Nope!! Never again! My husband and I ate here for dinner while visiting in October. We were going to a place next door that was packed, so we decided to go here instead. Bad decision. The food was not good. We were very disappointed in the quality and taste. All I can say is...don't do it.

Skimpy pieces of chicken...the white meat was a breast cut into thirds, and they kept trying to give us these wings.

Or none. But we've definitely had much worse. It was pretty quiet when we started our meal but it became pretty busy. Parents really need to be mindful that they aren't the only ones present in a bustling restaurant and remove the screaming child making it miserable for the other guests. Twenty minutes of that was too much. Uncalled for. That comes from a parent (me). But I digress. The food was probably the best we've had since coming here. The pot roast and fish were excellent as were the potatoes, creamed corn, broccoli cheese casserole and okra (tons of seasoning which was amazing). Yes. I know it is not traditional southern okra but it's still pretty darned good. Why the four stars? One: they do not bring enough food. Before the server left the table after bringing our food, we had to ask for more potatoes and pot roast. Not enough to go around and we were taking small helpings. Then one has to wait for more. That's not the way it should be. Serving portions should be measured per number of guests per table. Not guesstimates. Two: they've started charging for desserts. What used to come with the meal is now extra. Costs are high enough as it is so we sadly skipped the ooey gooey butter cake and banana pudding. The sole reason for this review is to give a heads up about the change. All in all, the meal was delicious. Will definitely return.

Because of this, no doggie bags allowed. The food was ultra fresh - MOUTHWATERING (especially the collard greens)! The restaurant is situated so that you can watch the water show out of the windows (at the Island; it occurs every 30 minutes).

It's too quiet - there is a sign in the dining room that says where the toilets are, very amazing I am overjoyed - ordered food around 12:20, was served by 12:31 - fries are golden and crisp, but bland. Not much flavor, no seasoning - server was Mo, he is very nice, kinda cute. My sister asked if he was British (he was not) and idk if that was offensive so very sorry mo, you can have her firstborn child as a peace offering - grilled cheese is very nice, would be better with American cheese rather than cheddar. But that's just my preference. - I kinda changed my mind, the fries are pretty good - the water is flavorless, which was very disappointing. Uncrisp, but still good cold water I suppose - Kind of cold in here, wish I brought a jacket man - bathroom is clean - cute gift shop 9/10, I'll be back.

I had been here once before and the food was so good I had to come back. By the time I got to my hotel, I was running late for my reservation and got a call from The Appalachian checking if I was going to make my reservation. I let them know that I had just arrived at my hotel, traffic on I-81 held me up and I was going to order an Uber as soon as I was off the phone. Coming from DC, I expected an Uber would be at the hotel door steps within a few minutes, I was wrong. I was then crushed by the realization that I was wrong, I wasn't gonna make my reservation. I knew that on a week night The Appalachian's kitchen closed at 9. Ride.I called them back to let them know of the situation and expressed my desire to have their Wood Fired Lamb. The Gentleman that answered the phone simply responded "it's going on the grill now, we will see you when you get here. F-ing amazing, turned my stressful and painful day completely around. Uber'ed over, walked into an empty restaurant on a weekday where I would guess dinner customers might have been light and they held the staff for little old me. The Appalachian had just moved to the top of my list for I mean best restaurant I've ever been to in my life. Unfortunately, for them, my favorite restaurant of all time in the United States shut down when I was in my early 20's so they'll never get a chance to compete.. But they just bumped Alligator Soul in Savannah Georgia to number two still in existence in these great United States. The Appalachian is a must dine at least once in your life, top tear resistant.
