We really enjoyed this stop for lunch at Dollywood, particularly how the history around the walls and 1950s style diner vibes. The service was quick, which was nice after a busy morning at the theme park. We especially loved the chili cheese fries and wish they had been more abundant with their serving of it, the burger was just fine, but it is elevated by having a toppings bar available.

Red's Drive In is more about the atmosphere than about the food. Patterned after a 50s diner where Dolly Parton grew up in there is a jukebox dating back to the period and various signs showing the drive in along with the history it played in Dolly's life growing up. The food is typical park fare food. You order at the counter and you are given a number with which to pick up your food when your number is called. Drinks are served in one of those machines that let you select what you would like, get ice and then put your cup underneath it to get your selection. Oddly enough this place has a vegan option here-a salad. Mostly cheeseburgers and fries including chili fries are served here along with a turkey wrap and grapes. Toppings such as lettuce, tomatoes, etc are served at a separate topping bar. The three of us ordered the cheeseburger with fries and a soda drink. I found the cheeseburger was the usual packaged style patty-very bland and well not my cup of tea. The fries were mediocre. Having dined at the Flower and garden festival this place is severely lacking in quality. If you are able to grab the samples at the festival, then you are really getting more bang for your buck there. However, this place is not a buffet which we were trying to avoid but at least learn more about Dolly's history on a replica of a street where she grew up in.

$35 for one cheeseburger and fries then made the frozen hamburger wrong. Do yourself a favor and try anything else at Dollywood.

A reminder of the days when men and women dressed with class and wore hats and coats to dinner.. Mills has this inherent 50s vibe, but the menu is quite up-to-date and everything is delicious. You can't go wrong with the burgers, I'm just telling you they've got something for everyone's taste. Even the sides don't disappoint, and the milkshakes are enough for two people, at least it was enough for the two of us. My engine rings were fantastic, breaded to perfection, and plenty of them came with my meal. Our waitress was tremendous also, quick drink refills, brought our food, hot, and prepared to give helpful and delicious recommendations from the menu. They do sell their merchandise at the checkout, but what do you expect, this is pigeon Forge for goodness sake! Everyone is Hawking their stuff . We are definitely planning on coming back and trying something different. Their menu is diverse and I think that we could come back for years and never have the same thing twice.

The staff was running back and fourth, overall the wait time was not and at all. I had a chili, cheese, mushroom, back, burger, onion rings, and a root beer float. The service was decent, the food was ok, not greatest but not the best I've had either. I wouldn't mind returning and trying something else next time.

Maybe "pet tolerant", but not "friendly": - hostess was visibly & audibly afraid of dogs. We have two sweet chocolate labs, not exactly menacing creatures. Why in the world would you send a dog-fearing employee to get us seated? - we expected an offer of a water bowl for our pups. Nope. Had to find a server and ask for one. - the outdoor area we sat at is enclosed & gated. A door separates this outdoor area from the inside dining room. In spite of this, 10 minutes after being seated, a separate employee came out and simply said "do yall have leashes?" 1- of course we do, you saw us walk them in. 2- no greeting or "hey, I'm blah blah"... cold & impersonal. 3- why bother with the cost of a gated enclosure if pets have to be leashed anyway? We've been to many pet-friendly restaurants. You are NOT pet-friendly. You happily took our money for the meal, and added a 20% gratuity yourselves (which was not earned btw), but you barely did enough to accommodate our pups, let alone be considered "friendly". We didn't feel they were welcome, and certainly no "friendly" environment experienced. We won't be back. See how Calhouns defines "pet friendly". Y'all might learn something. To diners with pups: You want "pet friendly"? Skip this place.

I was having a rough day & chose Sunliner to try & make me feel better. Upon walking in I saw two full size car booths & a jukebox. The vibe was exactly what I was looking for. I'm happy to say we got HUNNY as our server & she was the best & she cheered me right up. She was wearing a bright yellow dress & singing along with the jukebox. We talked doo-wop songs & I got recommendations for what to order. I decided on Country Fried Chicken with Mashed Potatos & it did not disappoint. The shakes are also really good & come with a waffle on top. We ended up going back the next day (HUNNY was off) but we still had a nice time. Tried the chicken & waffles & biscuits & gravy this time. There really wasn't anything bad that we tried & if you're lucky, you might get HUNNY & have a 5 Star Experience like we did. Would I return for a third time? YES!
