Homestyle Chicken and Macaroni and Cheese
    Martha H.

UPDATE: July 15, 2026-Cracker Barrel now has $5 to go meals. They have different types of meals. I chose the Homestyle Chicken and Macaroni Cheese. You can put in the refrigerator, but after two days, I put it in the freezer. After a couple of days, I put it in the microwave. It tasted just as good as in the restaurant.

Ordered carry out. They said ten to fifteen minutes, it was ready 45 minutes later. My grilled cheese had cheese that was not melted. Paid $100 for five takeout meals and had a cold grilled cheese. The order was correct, I will give them credit for that, but didn't pack enough silverware and I was delivering this to family at hospital and they needed the silverware.

    Ambiance in Cracker Barrel.

We were there Thanksgiving and really enjoyed the Turkey. Our server was young and seemed inexperienced but he was pleasant and accurate. Cracker Barrel has a definite ambiance all its own.

Been here many times and today I tried the new Shepherd's Pie and you have to try it. Was delicious.

Service was very slow. Our server was very good, kept checking on our food but it seems the problem was with the kitchen. People waiting for their food at some of the tables left since it was taking so long. Many diners were waiting for food but the kitchen seemed to be running far behind. Once we did get our food it was very good, and our server did a great job keeping our drinks filled and checking on us to see if we needed anything. I don't recommend dining here unless you have time for a leisurely meal.

I had never before been to a Cracker Barrel since there were never any in the area I lived in. But on my cross country drive from NYC to LA I stopped here and had a great time, such a great time that I visited Cracker Barrel two more time on the rest of my trip. I dream about the chicken n' dumplings, carrots, and fried apples. They were delicious and comforting when I needed comfort the most, on the road to a new home. The food is heavy so I couldn't eat here all the time but it doesn't mean I wouldn't want to! I absolutely recommend making a stop if you're in the area, you won't regret it!

Food was great! Amazing service! Atmosphere is same at most of these chains. Veggies were cooked well and the sour dough bread was tasty!

A majority of the dining area is not within the main house but within an added on area in the front. Their entrees are very approachable and reasonably priced. The only slightly ghetto experience while coming here was when they brought out the lunch special sign (a dry erase board) on a music stand and set it next to the table for a few minutes. Their entrees for lunch are heartier than just the handhelds and generally include a soup or salad, a potato and a veggie. Of course, the pasta I chose doesn't include a potato or a veggie, only a soup or salad. I picked the veal parmesean with a french onion soup. My colleagues and client ordered the single pork chop, cajun chicken (2 breasts) and the stuffed shrimp. Everyone loved their meals, especially my client who loved the shrimp. My veal was pretty good and typical. Overall, this is one of the nicer restaurants for sure in town, and it's owned by the same folks that also own another nice restaurant, Galo's.

I had the meatloaf, roasted potatoes, and mixed vegetables which contained squash and snap peas, and the entire meal was just delicious. My husband had the fettuccine Alfredo and of course it was delicious also. I always get a piece of key lime pie to take home because it's just beyond amazing. Our waitress was amazing and friendly, as was the entire staff. Definitely make a trip.

Delicious rolls with honey butter were delivered to our table with our drinks. I ordered a 6 oz sirloin (medium) with 6 grilled shrimp. My sides were green beans & loaded baked potato. Hubby got 3 piece catfish with a side of green beans & mac n cheese. Hubby liked his food. My shrimp were good. My steak was full of gristle & impossible to cut. The manager stopped by to check on us & I told her about how bad my sirloin was. She immediately took it & brought me another one that was much more tender. I appreciated the good service. The manager found out it was our first time at this restaurant & gave us a cute welcome gift that included coupons. We'll be back.

Rolls came out first and they were hot and fresh. House side salads came first. They were fresh. Tasted good. Our entree's came fairly quick. I got a 8oz sirloin steak medium cook with fresh steamed vegetables(broccoli and carrots). Steak was cooked well. Veggies were still hard. Total turn off. Told the waitress and she said they're steamed in a big batch. But we told her they are not being steamed long enough. She offered to take them back to steal some more. But I didn't want to wait. So we just didn't eat them. Definitely disappointed in the veggies.
