This review is directed at their store only & not the restaurant, I actually wont eat here (one too many disappointing past experiences & I find the companies religious/political perspective offensive). Anyways... The website for the store front doesn't do it justice. Although some of their items can be very pricy they actually have a great selection of womens & baby clothing. You wont find the unique & adorable childrens clothing any where else nor the simply pretty womens line either. They do, however, have some great clearance items on a regular basis and unique gifts that can be enjoyed by all. They even have some really nice rustic/farm house dishes if you're going for that look and some neat Victorian inspired jewerly. read more

I can't say anything negative about this place. The food is excellent and they never forget my biscuits. The highchairs have straps that even my son can't escape from. I always have a glass full of tea and napkins for my messy boys. Love the country store. read more

I have been going here for years as it is one of the better "grease trap" restaurants in the area. I come mostly for the specials on Thursday (sliced turkey) and Saturday (chicken and rice). Not for the healthy conscience (even though they have salads) as a lot of the food I tried was "swimming in gravy". At my last lunch visit, my guest and I had the chicken dumplings ($7.49), roast beef dinner ($9.49) and two sodas ($1.99 each), our bill came to about $20.96+tax. Service, as usual, was very attentive and friendly. The restaurant has a general store which sells trinkets, shirts, cookbooks, candies in vintage boxes along with other novelties. Patrons can browse the store if they have to wait to be seated. Outside the store are rocking chairs and perhaps a checker set for use by the patrons. One of the option that I used frequently is the carry-out. You can call ahead and place your order and it will be ready for pickup in about 10 minutes. You can save on the drink, tip and tax. Good place for a simple lunch, especially if you're not too hungry. I remember the day when Cracker Barrel were plentiful, generous meals of reasonable quality traditional American comfort food. They're still serving reasonable quality, but the quantity of the food is much less. The service is just ok. We'd certainly return here, but not for a special occasion but more of an alternative to a fast food joint. A worthwhile stop, but not the Cracker Barrel of yesteryear. read more

I have always enjoyed the food and friendliness of our local Cracker Barrel. However my experience today was horrible! I tried to place an order online but was unable to get it to work properly so I called in to place my order. My call was treated by Madison (no last name given) who was the absolute rudest person I have ever had to place an order with. Not only did she NOT ONE TIME use common courtesy in replying to my answers (instead, I heard a blunt Yeah!) but no matter how many times I would say please and thank you, she would interrupt and continue on with, what's your next order!? To the point that I actually apologized ( for what exactly... for obviously ruining her day by placing my order via phone instead of online) but in the middle of me speaking ( I mean literally) she starting yelling to someone to tell someone else that a person they are looking for is not there while I listened to that conversation and the rubbing around of the phone,) she jumped back on to start back with (not, I'm sorry first or excuse me) but a straight question of what bread do you want? I asked if she got my request for the gravy on the side, she firmly stated,"yeah! What bread do you want". Of course when I asked her name, she tried to ignore the question so I asked again! Great food and service. Expect a bit of a wait on Sundays, but it's fun to look around the store during the wait. The food is worth it.

I was surprised by the favorable comments. This place is not good for breakfast! My burger patty was dry and stiff. The hash brown casserole was hard and cold and a microscopic portion! The 2 eggs were cool. The grits tasted like molten pumice...and the waitress was not accurate with my order. This place was bad 10 years ago and it is not good now. I concur with Emily M's review. Frequent often! Clean, prompt and delightful staff. Always feels and smells like mom has been cooking. Something for everyone but I do recommend the chicken tenderloins. They are the best on a salad, sandwhich or as the dinner with the fabulous sides. read more

i use to live in ohio and ate at this c.b.on state route 44 in rootstown, ohio often. ive traveled and ate at many c.b.s and while they are all good rootstown is tops for customer service and friendly atmosphere. food is consistently good everytime you go there and ladies in gift store are so friendly. i now live in tampa fl. they say the people in the south are the friendliest. well they dont beat rootstowns crew. love and miss you all.
