This place is underrated. The food is pretty good -- 3-stars. The store ambience is 5-stars, as are the restrooms for cleanliness. The staff is helpful, friendly and accommodating. A note for RVers: you can park here at night. The management here is very accommodating and here's more good news. They open at seven am so you can eat dinner the night before and also have breakfast in the morning before you depart. Make sure do you wake up before 0630! The landscapers come in with their gas powered air blowers and start blowing. They make a hell of a racket. Check to make sure they didn't blow nails or other sharp debris near your tires before you depart. All and all it's great experience to eat and stay here. Highly recommended. read more

I am truly in awe of the amazing experience I had today at the SP Cracker Barrel. Everyone is always so incredibly friendly no matter when we visit but today has me speechless. It is my birthday and my family and I picked here to come for an early dinner. Upon learning it was my birthday, Frank and his amazing staff not only sang to me but also gave me a birthday card that they had all signed. I have NEVER had any establishment go above and beyond like that! I felt so special. What they didn't know, my dad passed on my birthday years ago. This day is always difficult but Frank and the staff made me feel so incredibly welcome and special. I am beyond touched. Goodbye, Cracker Barrel. I've been a long time customer of this restaurant. Over the last several visits, I have noticed a deterioration in the service and the long wait times that one has to endure from the time the order is placed until it is served. Last night our family arrived at 6:10 PM. The restaurant was about 30% occupied. Only two servers were on duty. After the order was placed, and our waitress was very efficient, we did not receive our order until 10 minutes of 7. A 40 minute wait is just not acceptable, especially at a time when most of the tables in the restaurant or empty. (My wife told me that the the man in the table behind us actually got up and went back into the kitchen to find out why his order was so delayed. ) So this is just not my first time to experience this. I think Cracker Barrel may be a franchise that is not going to survive. read more

I'm done with this Cracker-Barrel. Ridiculous. Long wait times, additional long wait times after seated, almost an hour to get cold eggs and cold potatoes, snippy response when you ask for something to be corrected. Service was sub par. Our waitress came to our table a total of 4 times while we were there almost 2 hours. Of the 4 times once was taking our order, once was bringing the food, and the last was bringing the check. She checked on us one time for drink refills. I had to flag down the guy hosting to get us refills. In fact 4 other tables were having to use the host to get refills. He was working harder than the wait staff. The food was not good at all. Our kids got burgers. They were way over cooked and really tough. My wife got chicken tenders with slaw which she said was really good. I got the chicken n dumplings with loaded mashed potatoes and loaded hash brown casserole. The mashed potatoes were horrifically dry. The hash brown casserole had a large portion burned. Overall the food was not great. Everyone left not feeling well after eating. I will say the store is very clean. Restrooms were very clean. Checkout was fast. read more

My wife and I were looking for a quick bite to eat and ran into Cracker Barrel. We figured that you could not go wrong with a cracker barrel, WE WERE WRONG. We visited on 10/3/22 at 1830. First the hostess sat us at a dirty table and tried to clean it off and sweep everything on to the floor. We sat for 20 min before our waitress came over to take our drink order. We ordered our meal at the same time and it too them 10 more minutes to bring us our drink and then 55 Min to deliver our food, OUR food showed up COLD and Nasty and we had to remind our server that we ordered Coleslaw and a side of Mac and cheese for my wife. If I could give this establishment a ZERO I would this was the nastiest Cracker Barrel we have ever visited, this experience is like a Colonoscopy one and done! It will be a very long time before we go to this establishment in Southern Pines again if we ever do. read more

Took my parents to breakfast and we were seated at 10.34 am. Our waitress seemed a little all over the place. Needless to say it was 11.12 am I am asking what is taking so long to make eggs and bacon, it was a little busy but all we had consumed in 45 minutes was a glass of tap water. Long wait short we did not get our breakfast until 11.43 am, we were literally standing up to leave and our food was being delivered to our table. My father had to send the silverware back 2 times because there was hard dried residue on the forks. I truly like Cracker Barrel but this was the worse experience. Neither one of these meals came out as though they were supposed to the bacon was not supposed to be burnt. It was supposed to be cooked with no press. The eggs were supposed to be cooked to Sunnyside up and they were discussing overly runny and very milky like the apples that I ordered to go on or with the meal placed on the plate and then take it off the plate and placed in a bowl separately it took us several times to get biscuits. Unfortunately we never got the gravy and the other breakfast the country fried steak was OK. The eggs were OK. Hashbrowns look like Minced up baby food and they had absolutely no gravy at all. You would think this restaurant is rationing their food by the portions. They gave me only one small thin slice of Turkey and a spoonful of Mac and cheese for my whole meal. It was actually ridiculous looking and I was so hungry after that I ended up ordering another meal to go. We would have ate it there but the waitress took so long to come over to our table for anything that we didn't want to sit there any longer. We were polite and tipped well so I was surprised when we got home to open the to-go box and find what looked like a pathetically small pot pie smashed out of revenge. It does not taste like you think it might looking at the picture and just thinking of the ingredients... the hashbrowns are totally burnt and SO oversalted your whole mouth stings at first bite (if you can cut it with a fork, but might want a knife), and all the rest of it is so coagulated you can't even stir it around. Worst of the worst. Sitting here and waiting for our meal for over 30 minutes. Tried ordering the Chicken Pot Pie but were told, after 5 minutes, that it wouldn't be ready for over 2 hours. It pains me to leave a negative review on a restaurant chain that I love but this location needs serious help. As others have already pointed out, the wait time for food is ridiculously long. Management needs to wake up and do something to avoid dragging the Cracker Barrel name and reputation any further than it already has. We were a party of three that came in for lunch shortly after 2pm. The restaurant was approximately 1/3 full (if even that). We were seated promptly and our order was also taken promptly but after that, it was all downhill. It was about an hour from the time we were seated til our food was finally delivered. How can that be when it the restaurant was quite empty?? We were initially told by an apologetic server that there was just one cook working...then we were told that we were waiting on the dumplings. Uhhh...okay (at Cracker Barrel?) so we waited and waited and waited. When we finally got our meal served and was asked whether we needed anything else, I had to request utensils to also be served (there was nothing on the table). We had initially planned on getting dessert but after dealing with the wait time, we decided to forego it. When we spoke with the manager later, he gave us an excuse that, apparently, he tells everyone ~ that they're working on it ~ but we were later informed that the manager has been saying that forever. How disheartening it must be to work in conditions like that. Management seems to have a nonchalant attitude. I hope that Cracker Barrel top/executive management takes a look at these Yelp reviews and address the issues at this location. After flagging down a different waitress to get refills on our tea, she encouraged us to speak to the manager to express our concern because it would help change things in the kitchen. With GRACE, I attempted to speak to the manager. When she came out to meet us she was flustered, agitated, and a bit rude. She said they were working as hard as they could and even had management on the grill. She apologized for the trouble and ran back to the kitchen. I wasn't finished with our conversation. Usually it's been a few months and I seem to forget how bad this place is. Every time I've been here the wait is incredibly long even though the restaurant is mostly empty. Service is horrible........I came in at 655am waited until 715......stepped out and decided to wait so I can write this post. I finally went back in and waited until 724am to be seated. The serve was extremely nice and helpful but I would recommend management need to be trained or replaced. There is too much completion nearby to let this establishment go down the drain. We enjoyed our meal and service. I'm a Cracker Barrel fan and it is my travel restaurant. This establishment has the consistent home-feel, food, and service that I've come to expect. No disappointment. We both had the "Old Timers" with slight modifications / request, such as one plate was to have extra crispy bacon, the other had eggs prepared a certain way... be sure to bring Tabasco... etc. Our orders were spot on. The food was seasoned, tasty, and served hot. The wait staff were very friendly and prompt. My only negative comment would be the floors were in need of sweeping and cleaning. While not busy at all, there was plenty of time and personnel to tend to the floors. We would certainly return. read more
