My family went on July 11th in Springfield, Ohio, in the evening for my husband's birthday and we always have great meals there. The food this time was so bad that we almost left when it was brought out 30 minutes later. There wasn't hardly anyone in the place and it took forever. We had 9 people with us and all of everyone's food had something wrong with it. Catfish was not cooked and raw and my husband ordered mashed potatoes with his steak and gravy. The potatoes were just a baked potato mashed up and there wasn't any gravy until after 20 minutes of waiting for it until they made more and didn't even look like gravy and it had a carrot in it. Then his salad came out after the meal had been served. The waitress was very young and seemed confused. We spoke to the manager and he did not do anything at all and was very rude from the minute we sat down until we told him about all of the things wrong with the food and how it was prepared. No concern or caring at all. We love Cracker Barrel, but probably will not go back for a while. Then on top of the bad food, that manager sat a girl a table away from us and did an interview for a job when the whole area was empty. read more

Have not been to a Cracker Barrel in a while. Was craving some biscuits and one of the places I know my wife can go with her egg allergy. First off they had system issues and we're only accepting cash so had to go to an ATM. Figured that at 3 in the afternoon would be perfect time for great service and food. Was wrong. Wife was waiting for me to return with cash and had ordered a Coke and the server brought one water. Then she had to ask for it again when I got there. Ordered the pork chop dinner with biscuits, green beans, and mashed potatoes. Wife had ham, green beans, and hash brown casserole. Hers was fine. My pork chops were room temp and not real flavorful. I had asked for honey and butter with biscuits but got jelly. Asked to have a pork chop remade and then was charged for it. Was not charged for right pork chop meal. I haven't visited a Cracker Barrel in about ten years before last night. But last night, my bestie invited me to meet her. So being my dairy free self, I checked out their allergy menu online and was quite impressed. I even had dessert options! Ashley was a fantastic waitress, even helping me find an appropriate substitution for my sides. I wish I'd taken photos because the fresh fruit side she suggested was beautiful with fresh and perfect blackberries, blueberries, and pineapple. I had the meatloaf, sweet potato (with a side of brown sugar instead of butter) and coleslaw as well. I even had a choice of cobblers for dessert and chose the blackberry. Even though we spent several hours sitting and chatting, Ashley was attentive the entire time. I could not have had a better experience. I love the breakfast combos here. The country boy platter is enough food for anyone and cheap. When I go healthier it's the haddock meal with house salad and it is fantastic. My kids love the pancakes with warm syrup. My only problem with this place is the somewhat small tables I'm sure because they are always packed. Great American food! read more

I understand the hosts and/hostesses have to deal with unreasonable people sometime however today the host was rude and uncaring with no just cause and the manager as well as less then helpful. I understand the Covid guidelines have been a challenge for everyone but not every guest who asks for a larger table is just trying to be unreasonable. No guest should have to explain they have a physical problem therefore they need more room. No one likes to be prejudged. However after we decided to deal with the small table, the manager did move us to a larger table. It is hard to enjoy a meal after you have been spoken to with disrespect and censure. The worse experience I've had in a long time with a restaurant. General manager Mike Adams and his night manager Neil have absolutely no customer service skills. Being a district manager with Wendy's for 25 years I know what customer service is and how to fix a problem when a customer brings it to your attention. I spend over $100 a month at the Springfield, Ohio location, but no more. I'm not one to complain usually because I know how difficult the restaurant world is. I called 2 months ago and they had to replace our family meal due to over cooked chicken. I've ordered probably 8-10 times since then with every single order missing something and I didn't complain. 2 weeks ago they missed an entire family meal side item along with blackberry jam and not even enough utensils to eat with. I called 2 weeks ago and spoke with Neil and he said he would replace my order the next time I came in to pick it up. I called in my order tonight and Neil said he wasn't going to replace the meal only the entree meal. That's not what he told me on the phone or I would have just drove the food back that evening and got my money back. So, I had to listen to Noel call me a liar as well as Mike Adams. Let me know when the Springfield, Ohio location has a General Manager who knows what customer service is and can get an order correct, until then I'll spend my money elsewhere. read more

We had a party of 12. They were very good about getting us seated together. The waitress was wonderful and very attentive to all of our needs. Everyone seemed to really enjoy their food. Very disappointed. Came here with my family. Party of 10 told it would be a twenty minute wait. We were forced to stand for forty minutes, no seating provided for two elderly adults other than outdoor seating in the freezing cold. No attempt was made to put multiple small tables together to accommodate us. Parties of two four and six were called in the same announcement and seated in the same area. I left after an hour of waiting by the wait station where the only excuse was that we were a large party. It is a family restaurant but there is no accommodation for older adults, young children or pregnant mothers. No accommodations for large families. Unbelievable. If you have six waitstaff standing around at the wait station and a family of ten still has not been seated, you need to re-think your strategy! read more

I called my bank and Cracker Barrel did in fact charge my bank 73$, treated my door dash driver horrible, and did not answer my calls (called 9 times). Busy place! And deservedly so! We were in town for a convention and wanted some home cookin for a change. We ordered takeout to save time. The employees were courteous, quick and our takeout waiter 'Jef' was super efficient! He had thought of everything even down to the salt, pepper, butter and jelly without even asking. Great shopping too if you need to grab a gift for the friends and fam back home. Chicken and dumplings are to die for and the fried okra is just like Grammy used to make - corn meal, hot oil and a hit of salt. This Crackerbarrel is very nice and well organized. Might be the first Crackerbarrel I've been to where dishes are not dropped. Waiters are friendly and provide extra jam, honey, syrup ect. if you ask. The wait even when busy is not bad. The real gem are the rocking chairs on the front patio. Took my Mom out to eat today to try the new fried chicken. Upon being greeted to see what we would like to get to drink she had a hand full of dirty dishes and held them there in front of my face instead of telling us she'd be right back to let me get these dishes down so I can wait on you. Upon ordering the drinks I ask to taste the strawberry lemonade to make sure I would like it. The waitress Laurie brought me out a sample and I did like it but I had ask if I could get extra strawberry and she told me no that the strawberry lemonade comes premixed and it couldn't be done. So I knew my Mom wanted the chicken but I was undecided between the new fried chicken and the maple jam burger but Laurie the waitress helped me decide because she said the chicken was dropped fresh per order so I knew it would be great cause how can u beat fresh fried chicken?? So while we waited for our food we went out to the shopping area to look around seeing we would have to wait on the chicken to be cooked fresh. The other person at our table waited and was gonna text me when the food arrives so we could go back and eat. Well we weren't in the shopping area no more than 5 mins and we got texted saying our food was at the table. Soo long story short the chicken was not dropped fresh and had been up for quite sometime and the mash potatoes prolly were made a week ago. I didn't complain just ate the skin off the chicken and left the potatoes on the table un ate. The corn on the cob was good we ask for extra parmesan and did get that. Upon eating we watched another waitress at the lemonade stand add extra strawberry syrup to a cup and then add lemonade ontop. So I guess I could of gotten extra strawberry flavoring to my lemonade. This isn't the first time we have had sub par food from Cracker Barrel. Would not of went back this time but I received a gift card from my son for Father's Day. read more
