I'm not usually a fan of chains, but I like Cracker Barrel for breakfast. Excellent wild blueberry pancakes. Always good with bacon or ham. Any potato is done well. Eggs are perfect. Coffee is good. Great service and all at a decent price.

No flatware, no jam, grits were undercooked...DISAPPOINTED

I have been spoiled by my cracker barrel experiences in the south, as far south as Florida. I decided to order breakfast from this location from Grub Hub because my experiences with Cracker Barrel in the past have all been pretty good (atleast the quality of the food). Ordered the double meat breakfast, 3 eggs over easy, perfect, bacon and sausage, great, grits, absolutely horrible and severely undercooked, they are called grits, but they don't have to be gritty, biscuits, underwhelming with no jam, and gravy, meh. I have come to the conclusion that some cracker barrels are better than others. Well at least when it comes to breakfast. The most annoying part was it didn't come with utensils and I was at a hotel, so I had to go down to the front desk and beg the hotel staff for something I selected when I made my order on grub hub. There is a box for that. This was my second time ordering with grub hub and the second time I requested utensils by checking the box and not receiving them. I did complain and they gave me $10 towards my next order which seemed a bit excessive. But I guess $10 is cheaper than fixing whatever is going wrong with their order processing. So the 3 rating is just for the quality of the food alone and nothing else, but thanks for listening to me rant. I feel better already.

Tried Cracker Barrel for the first time and it was amazing. I did a to go order but the lady at the front was nice. I ordered the French toast with fried chicken. I love those cute bottles that the syrup came in! Now the chicken was oh so crispy, not a lot of batter and seasoned to perfection. The French toast was ok but I added some syrup to it! Overall it was great! Can't wait to try more items

Everything we ordered was bland except for the damn broccoli. We orders 2 fish Friday meals & a fried chicken meal for pick up. The best item was by far the regular pancakes with I paid $1.99 extra for on the side of one of the fish meals. We probably will not return to this location unless for breakfast in the future. For $50 I expect much tastier food. It does not have to be loaded with salt but some items have to be seasoned while cooking not after.

The food is good country cooking, the store is nostalgic and modern all at once, and the service is great. Everyone is very friendly.

The indoor seating was on the small side but the ac was great! A lot of local beer to choose from to make your own six pack to go too! Also, outdoor seating with umbrellas. No "full" bar so some drink options weren't available- like a martini for example. We ordered off the brunch menu and most of our plates were left totally empty. Honorable mention to the chicken and waffles, just the right about of succulent chicken and crunchy exterior. My French toast was very yummy too. Portions are larger which is nice. Our peach Bellini carafe afforded a few of us a glass with our meal. The crispy brussels cane highly recommended but they were a little charred for my taste. Service was prompt and courteous. A great brunch spot through and through!

The bill was about $120, which felt reasonable for the quality of the food. Unfortunately, the service really brought the experience down. Our server was clearly overwhelmed and had far too many tables. She was perfectly pleasant and seemed to be doing her best, but it took about 20 minutes before we could even ask for unsweetened butter for the rolls. The butter they initially brought was so sweet it tasted like buttercream frosting, which was not at all to my taste, and then it took another 10 minutes to actually get the replacement. I really wanted to love this place because the food was excellent, but this was a Monday evening. If the restaurant is this understaffed on a Monday, I can only imagine how much worse the service is on a busy weekend. As much as I enjoyed the food, I don't think I'd go back.

Walked in to the very small space and were told we needed to order online, so we got out our phones and scanned one of the many QR code signs posted on every surface anordered - two bagels, one with cream cheese and the other with butter. He confirmed he received the orders immediately- even before the payment had gone through. That seemed like a good sign. We waited and watched while he made salads and other orders for people who presumably ordered online before us, but didn't come in to pick up while we were there. Eventually he made our bagels, put them in cardboard baskets, covered them with aluminum foil (not sure why we needed that cardboard waste -- would have been happy with my bagel just wrapped in foil), covered them with paper towels, put them each in separate paper bags, and placed them on the counter while calling our names (even though we were the only people in the place and he had confirmed he knew who we were when he received the order). We took the bagels and walked across the street and got our coffees from the cute cat cafe with the friendly staff. Hit the road, and pulled out our bagels in the car. First bite was so bad that I tossed the rest of the bagel back in the bag... it was so crunchy it was more of a thick bagel chip, and shards of bagel stuck between my teeth like splinters. Certainly one-of-a-kind, I've never had another bagel like it. About 10 miles later I was hungry enough to get the bagel out and try again... this time I kneaded it through the aluminum foil a bit to bread it up first. It was still very crunchy and sharp, but there were some softer bits toward the middle. There wasn't much flavor, except where it was drenched in butter (and those bites tasted like butter, which isn't a bad taste I guess). TLDR, if you want bagels in Winchester WV skip this place and go to Sclafani's.
