New York strip with fries & broccoli
    John L.

Pro: big parking lot, nice interior, friendly staff, Con: no online reservations service. Came here for a family member birthday on the weekend and let me tell you that this place was very crowded. We had people waiting in the wait area and outside the door. This is why I wish longhorn had an online reservation service. My party of 5 came at around 5 pm and after checking in we waited for about 15 minutes before being seated. Our server Meghan was very friendly and always made sure to check in so that our needs were taken care of. The interior was very clean, modern, and had some country music playing in the background. For appetizer, we order the spicy chicken bites and the tonion. The chicken bites combine with that spice sauce pack an explosion of flavor and was my favorite when compared to the tonion. For the entree, I ordered the New York strip which only come in a 12 oz cut with a side of fries + broccoli. The fries were crisp while the broccoli felt like they were cooked to death with how mushy it was. The steak were cooked to medium rare and tasted not bad. All in all, I had a great time with my friend and family and would only come here for future special occasion due to the high price of the food.

We arrived at around 745 on a Friday night and expected a wait due to how packed the parking lot was. The hostess said it would be about 25 minutes for a table for two. We waited roughly 20 minutes before receiving the text that our table was ready. We were seated at a booth and while the table was clean, the floor certainly was not. I had kicked a fork out from under my feet and wiped off the booth seat. Although, because of how busy they were, this did not bother me much. We were greeted rather quickly by our waiter, Mitch. I could immediately tell from his greeting that he was going to give us great service and he did not disappoint! He was very professional, friendly, and seemed to be flourishing in this face paced environment, while constantly checking in and keeping us informed. For drinks, I got sweet tea and my husband ordered a draft miller lite. The tea and bread came out rather quickly but we did have to wait a few minutes on the beer. I could tell the bar was busy, so we had no complaints there. I was surprised at how perfectly sweet the tea was. We started with the parmesan spinach dip. My husband ordered a burger, medium well, with the new flame grilled street corn as a side. I ordered the 6 oz. filet, medium rare, with a side salad and a baked potato. I had quite a few modifications and was worried about the kitchen getting them all correct. I had confidence in Mitch. I was very happy with how our food came so incredibly spaced out. We had plenty of time to munch on some bread before the appetizer came. After we finished chowing down on the appetizer, my salad came and a few minutes after finishing the salad, our entrées arrived. I was pleased to see that all of my accommodations had been met. Props to the kitchen, and to Mitch, for being able to meet these changes when being so busy! I was also incredibly pleased when I cut into my steak. It was a pristine medium rare! My husbands burger was also cooked to perfection. We haven't had a meal this tasty in months. We enjoyed every bit of our experience here, even when receiving the bill. We had expected it to be much more than it was. The check was only around $90, even with my husband having 3 20 oz. draft beers. We will be returning. Thanks Mitch!

I really have to find the recipe for their bread because it's always so good! Moving in I asked for a lychee martini and got a dirty martini! Took one sip and said nope! They spicy chicken bites was delicious and I forgot the sauce it came with but it was a type of Asian sauce and it was so good. Their burgers are pretty huge so I shared half with my daughter but it was nice and tasty and exactly the correct temperature we wanted. Overall I try to go here at least twice a year.

Food is good but their take out boxes are absolutely horrible. If you plan on taking your left overs, bring some duct tape.

We watched a number of clients who came in for pickup; we noted that they were all greeted and served with enthusiasm. We enjoyed a brisket combo with house-made fries, all of which were delicious. Prices are well-considered, not too high, especially considering the quality of product we received. We enjoyed learning about the championship pit masters. The music was hard-driving rock, played over the sound system; no live music was available on this particular Friday. We recommend Hog-It-Up for your next outing with family or friends!

Draft list was fantastic for a small bar. My 7yo loved the options on the fountain machine. We only tried the brisket but it fell apart in our hands and had a delicious smoke flavor and was very moist. The pretzel and beer cheese was great. The hush puppies were huge. The cheese curds are what I get when I'm in Wisconsin. My Mrs isn't a fan of smoked meats, but I guarantee this will become a regular haunt for our family. Sadly we had other evening music plans so we missed the blue grass pickers.

We wanted to fill up on gas before "going over the mountain". GPS led us to the New Star Market/Shell Gas Station, which was only about a mile off I-81 and directly on our route. The self-service gas area was a bit congested, but we squeezed behind a parked pickup to get to a pump. Gas prices were excellent at $2,75/gallon. I went to check out the small convenience store. They seemed to have pretty much everything that a traveler might want or need, including snacks, a deli, and more. Many other reviewers have mentioned BBQ, and an outdoor sign, advertised this as well. Somehow, my husband and I both missed this -- probably because it wasn't lunch time for us yet! We'll have to check it out again upon our return. The cashier was friendly and polite. Restrooms were outside and clean. .

For the amount we paid them I could have personally provided a lot more food and it would have been hot and yes the food he brought was cold. He had originally told me he would reimburse me for the coleslaw and roll shortages. There wasn't enough rolls for 100 people. He didn't even bring plates and silverware. I contacted him before the wedding to see if I needed to supply them and was told no he was supplying them. We had to run out while my daughter was having pictures done and purchase plates and plasticware. Absolutely ridiculous!!!! And the greatest debate of them all; what sauce (if any) is the proper one. But there is one element all can agree on; aroma. If you pull up, close enough for the breeze to carry the smoke across your nostrils, you know if it's true barbecue. And on a cold night, having just spent 9 hours driving to Virginia, I had such an experience. A family member called as we got closer to arrival and mentioned Fizzle's. I don't remember his exact words, but they involved a trailer, fire pit, and good sides. It was like going on a blind date with a optimist; I was already in love and had yet to lay eyes on the place. Down this two lane road we traveled, the sun having already set, and I scanned the scenery in anticipation. In what could only be described as some form of bbq voodoo, it magically appeared around a corner. This beacon of light, contrasted against the starless sky, required no flashy signage or voluminous music. It was the sign, and the song, I was looking for. Our windows up, due to the ever dropping temperature, the aroma found its way to me. The savoriness of hickory, with notes of apple wood and cooking pork fat, was a siren and I the surrendering sailer. My appetite spoke for me that night, asking about the larger pork sandwich option, but thankful Reneta advised me that would be an entire pound (whereas the sandwich is still half a pound). I almost went for it, but I tell you wisdom must have intervened in that moment for I was dragging my fork across the finish line as I took the last bite of bean and mac n cheese. The sauce has just a touch of sweetness (likely a pinch of brown sugar), but not too overt. As a child I had a crush on Mrs. Frizzle. Corky, intelligent, encouraging, and she had a magic school bus. But now as a grown up, my new crush is Fizzle. The meat, the sides, the sauce, the seemingly secret locations they may pop up next. If you're in the area, order a plate for me. And I beg of you, tell me the moment they get desserts.
