It's a very cute spot, if you have a lot to catch up on with your friends, I would recommend here. But, the food is overpriced and simply, not good. Macarons are very cute but it's so tough, I have never had macarons this bad, I even bought a lot to gift my friends and all of them didn't like it. The pandan crème brûlée is very small and it's quite expensive, it tastes ok. Service is good!
tl;dr the worst part about these deliciously unique treats is that you need to let them cool down before digging in Vancouver's dessert scene encompasses a wide spectrum of pan-Asian treats, and one hidden gem is the creme brulee-centric Crackle Creme. This dessert cafe has been bringing personal-sized creme brulees (ranging in flavors from standard to exotic, like Saffron & Orange Blossom) and kawaii character macarons to the Chinatown neighborhood for nearly a decade. The cozy cafe is warmly lit with wood and grassy motifs. The slatted checkout counter straight ahead is decked with a tiered display of all macaron varieties. The letterboard creme brulee menu sits atop a minifridge to the left, while an L-shaped walnut-brown counter runs along the window and wall to the right. Soft contemporary pop is intermittently interrupted by the hum of a blowtorch. My partner and I visited Crackle Creme for weeknight dessert, and we were one of the few patrons. We ordered an array of mini creme brulees that sounded interesting. Each custard was served in a small ceramic bowl with a crackly, freshly blowtorched shell. Our favorite was the rich, sweet Milk Tea, but the flavor-forward Vietnamese coffee was a close second. The Black Sesame was no slouch, either, sporting a deep, almost nutty, decadence. The service was friendly and efficient, and each 4-oz creme brulee ran just over $5. For sheer uniqueness, Crackle Creme's creme brulees are worth a visit; for quality, they are worth seconds.
I've been here a number of times. Very tiny place with a few counter stools but the staff is always super friendly. This is my go to place for creme Brulee as they always have a good variety of flavors and always super cute macarons. Kids / people who like cute things would probably appreciate this more. Happy to see this place is still in operation after so many years.
I was introduced to this dessert cafe by a friend. They specialize in two things: character macarons and creme brulee, and also coffee and tea beverages. The creme brulee comes in an assortment of unique flavours. They have both regular and vegan creme brulee, and the vegan flavours are just as interesting and varied as the regular flavours. I got there a little early, so while waiting for my friend to arrive I had a Thai jasmine iced tea. This was really good - the rich creaminess and sweetness of Thai tea with a strong and fragrant jasmine green tea instead of the usual red. Once my friend got there, we ordered creme brulee. I got the vegan durian and she got the lychee yogurt flavour. We sampled each others' creme brulees and both were delicious! The lychee yogurt creme brulee tasted just like lychee yogurt bubble tea and even had coconut jelly pieces inside. I didn't notice a big difference in consistency between the vegan and non-vegan creme brulee. Really friendly staff. The shop is a little small, and unfortunately does not have a customer washroom, but there are some stools along a counter inside (with hooks underneath for bags and coats) and a few seats outside. This stretch of Union Street is one of the quieter commercial streets in Strathcona/Chinatown, and I would happily sit outside here on a nice day.
I must have reviewed this place before but doesn't matter as they deserve mad props. The best creme brûlées with tons of different flavours - we had apple pie, black sesame, salted caramel and passion fruit (vegan). All really good. Flavours change regularly. Also have lots of cute macarons. The shop is CUTE as heck. Tons of cute plants and decorations with minion, totoro themes and macaron decorations everywhere. You can't miss it!!
Mango coconut vegan crème brûlée is now my favourite!!! Coffees and lattes are pretty but not that great. My black sesame latte was actually lukewarm when I got it but I figured I was taking it home to warm up anyway. Seats were not AS uncomfortable this time but maybe because we had been walking a while. Appreciated the hook underneath the counters for wet umbrellas and small purses. Kind of a drag that no obvious bathroom is available for customers.
A very cute little cafe with adorable delicious treats. They have a wide variety of desserts and drinks to choose from. The macaron displays were very cute and you could see how much detail was put into each one. The person working inside was very friendly and was able to recommend different things for us to try. He was the only person working that we could see and he was kind enough to make sure that we had everything that we needed. The Ferrero Rocher creme brûlée had the perfect brûlée on top and cracked very well with the spoon. It was full of delicious chocolate creme and I'm very glad that I had the chance to try it. The strawberry matcha had a very nice strong strawberry flavor, but it was to the point where it over powered the matcha and the drink was more of a strawberry milk than anything else. The overall experience was fantastic and it would definitely be worth it to go back and try some of their other desserts.
Located in a small strip of shops off the Main Street, Crackle Crème has an artisan vibe that has the quality to match. The strawberry matcha oat latte was delicious and the creme brûlée was made with a perfect texture. The person helping us was really nice and even though you can only sit along the wall in bar style fashion, our party of 4 had no issues.
Some of the best macarons I've ever had , aside from in Paris! Light, chewy, not too sweet - delicious. My favorite was the earl gray (eeyore). I'd like to come back and try more flavors.
This little cafe is well known for their anime character macaroons. I have been there twice for coffee after my visits to the nearby restaurants. I tried the cute macaroons and they all tasted yummy. The interior of the cafe was tidy and well organised. The anime macaroons were shown in the display box. Many customers went there for the macaroons and kids definitely love them. The latte was nice. Personally I wanted it to be stronger.
Such an adorable place! The service was incredibly quick and the staff was nice. There is outdoor seating available. I got the ferrero rocher creme brûlée as well as the matcha macaron. I ordered that flavour because I saw that many people have ordered this in reviews I've seen online. In hindsight, I would've ordered something different since I'm not a huge chocolate fan but I was so pleasantly surprised. The creme brûlée was delicious and had a good crack. I got it to go and it gets torched in front of you. The more I ate it, the more I enjoyed it. It's nice that you get to keep the sweet little mason jar. The macaron was good but nothing mind blowing. They are super cute though. Would come again for another creme brûlée flavour!!!
Finally visiting Vancouver, and this was one of our first stops. Located at the edge of Chinatown, it's a small shop with a small seating area in the inside and a few seats on the outside. When we went, there was a good amount of people waiting for food, as well as a small line. It looked to be a one-man show: one guy taking all of the orders, prepping the orders, and handing out the orders. He was very efficient with his methods, and would reasonably multi-task at times. Overall, the wait was not that long, and everyone was happy with their orders. Very impressed. We ordered the milky oolong drink, croffle, and four macarons. The milky oolong was good; no qualms here. The croffle was good, too, though you really want to eat that in the first 5 minutes of receiving it; we took two bites immediately after getting it, and it was yummy. But we waited to finish the croffle around 5 minutes later; it was still warm, but getting to the point of stale/chewy/upper-mouth trauma. Still good. Macarons were one of the main reasons why we visited this place. I have a favorite place in Irvine (Calif) that I compare all macaron places with, and this one isn't bad at all. The bake on these macarons are excellent; they're just a little too sweet for our palate. I ordered a vanilla, salted caramel, oreo, and coffee, and couldn't distinguish the vanilla or salted caramel very well. Coffee was like a punch to the taste buds; very distinctful. I'd be interested to get a few other flavors if we're in the area again and have the munchies. Overall, impressed with this place, and would come back!
To be fully transparent, I'd be compelled to give Crackle Cream five stars purely on the cuteness factor alone. HOWEVER, it's not JUST how adorable the macarons are that warrants the high rating, as the desserts here (macarons and creme brûlées) are tasty as well! Of the crème brûlée and macarons, I'd say the macarons (lavender and coffee) were probably my favorite thing. With flavors so distinctly packed into such a small item, it was very happy! They have two crème brûlée sizes, the regular, smaller size was more than enough for me. We tried the following flavors: Salted Carmel, Organic Earl Grey, Malted Chocolate, Organic Hojicha, and Honey Lavender. The one I thought would be my favorite, the Honey Lavender, was indeed the only one I really enjoyed and would order again. All around it was a great experience and the perfect last stop during my most recent visit to Canada!
Cute little spot in Chinatown. They sell a variety of teas, coffees, and desserts. Most known for their cute macarons! Their macaron designs are inspired by pop culture, anime, and any other cute/kawaii thing you can think of. I ordered a bunch from here solely for the characters... unfortunately I don't remember what flavors they were... however, I'm happy to report that they were all as tasty as they were cute! read more
Macarons are delightful desserts, but they're even better when they look like your favorite characters! I had this place saved for when I visit Vancouver and it definitely did not disappoint. I love creme brulee and this place offers more than a dozen different flavors, how can you not want to try them all? I was here in Vancouver for four days and I came here twice because it was that good. I tried the Ferrero Rocher, the Black Sesame and the Thai Tea ones. The Ferrero one was extremely decadent--creamy and crunchy from the ferreros on top. The Thai Tea was exactly like a Thai milk tea--sweet, creamy with a beautiful torched sugary crust on top. I didn't like the Black Sesame one as much and I'm a huge fan of Black Sesame in general. I think maybe for creme brulee, the gritty nuttiness doesn't work for it. I'm sure the other flavors are amazing as well. The only way to enjoy these is to tap tap tap until it cracks open and then dig your spoon in and shove it your mouth lol. I hope the owner didn't judge me too much as I scraped every little bit off the ramekin with my spoon. Oh, and they have macarons too I guess. I'm not a huge fan of those in general so I only had a bite of my friend's. They come in cute little characters and all different flavors. Omg! The cutest little macaron and dessert shop! I stumbled upon this shop on Yelp and thank god I did. The macarons are adorable and every person I was with was able to appreciate them. We ordered six since it was slightly discounted. I noticed there were also waffles and creme brûlée - next time! There's very minimal seating. A counter lines the wall inside with a few seats, but since the weather was nice, we opted for sitting outside. There is a long bench with some chairs right outside the shop, partly shaded. I met the owner and got to know a little about his concept while my friends chatted outside. I noticed while we were outside that he had randomly run off and locked the door to the shop. I asked him and he told me he needed to buy some more sugar! He runs the shop all by himself (no extra workers to help) so when it does it busy (because it really does), he just gets through one customer at a time. I definitely admire his drive, his work ethic and his creative ability! The iced lavender latte he made me was smooth and refreshing. Definitely recommend coming by here for dessert! It's a small place so try to come during non-peak times to ensure a seat. If anything, come and pick up a box of macarons or a creme brûlée to go, and support small local business! read more

This is such a cute cafe! I came here because of its placement on some 'Best of Vancouver' lists for its creme brûlée, but was pleasantly surprised to see lots of other fun goodies on the menu like cartoon character macarons, basque cheesecake, and budino. We ended up with four creme brûlées with flavors Ferrero Rocher, salted caramel, dulce de leche, and vanilla. There were tons of flavors, including some vegan and boozy ones. My favorite was the dulce de leche, and I found the chocolate flavor a little odd for the FR one, since I'm used to more subtle flavors in creme brûlée. Would return to try the basque cheesecake and the rooibos latte! read more
This is the CUTEST macaron shop I've ever visited. The macarons are made into popular animated characters and are way cute to eat. They have a variety of flavors such as matcha, root bear, and key lime (passionfruit/piglet and pikachu/mango were my favs). I was not expecting to be impressed by the taste but this was actually really good. The staff was friendly and there's seating by the window. It was my friends and I first time in Vancouver so this was def worth the visit. read more
I'm fairly disappointed with the overall experience of this place. The cafe itself is cute and cozy but they really need to improve on their taste. I got a waffle and it was so dry despite it being warm. I think the batter is a bit too thick. I also tried their creme brulee and sadly, it tasted like sugar with no real flavours. We visited this charming little shop for dessert. I was impressed with how many different flavors of crème brûlée and macarons were offered. The shop had a lot of cute little details in all the nooks that made for fun photos, as well. We ended up ordering lavender and honey crème brûlée, several macarons, and a Belgian waffle. All were flavorful and very tasty. The service was very friendly. The employee (possibly owner?) who assisted us with was very kind and patient with another customer who had some intellectual disabilities and patiently explained what the drinks and desserts were so that person could make a choice since they were unfamiliar. read more
Crackle Creme's menu has changed in the past few months it seems. I've seen pictures of ice cream sandwiches here on Yelp that looked good but they don't have them anymore when I went. They have different kinds of creme Brûlée, macarons, waffles, etc. It's located in Chinatown so, yeah, the space is small. Creme Brûlée: Creme Brûlée is one of desserts that's in everyone's menu - it's gotten old. Crackle Creme has made this dessert interesting again. They have several different flavors. We tried a few flavors: Ferrero Rocher, Coconut Pandan, and Thai Red Tea. They were all good. The cream has a good consistency - nice and thick, and on top is a thin layer of burnt sugar that gets torched as you order. Macarons: They're soooooo cute! That's probably why I decided to get every single flavor they have. Cartoon character macarons!!! Hello Kitty, Kero Kero Keroppi, Tuxedo Sam, Pikachu, My Little Twin Stars, Totoro, sprite from Totoro and Spirited Away, Rilakuma, Tigger, Piglet, Winnie the Pooh, a Minion, and a random poomoji. They come in flavors such as matcha, mocha, hazelnut, passionfruit, mango, lemon, cassi, rootbeer, pistachio, salted caramel, sesame, lavender, rose, raspberry, and chocolate mint. Tucked away on Union Street, Crackle Creme offers a unique range of desserts and drinks, making them a standout amid the Vancouver dessert scene. I've always loved coming here for the huge variety of Creme brûlées. Takeout comes in glass mason jars, which are the perfect size since Creme brûlée can get a little rich. The brûlée itself is ultra creamy and the candies sugar on top is so satisfying to break. I personally recommend the hojicha and black sesame flavours. They also sell liquor infused flavours and the cutest macarons. Would definitely recommend stopping by if you're in the area! read more

We came in about 30 minutes before closing and there was ample seating next to the window, but the entire store was smaller than I expected. However, they use their space well with elevated ceilings, warm decor, and plant aesthetics. Free water is available for drinking in cute mason jars. We were surprised at how many flavors of both macarons and creme brûlée they had, and opted to try two of their popular creme brûlée flavors. The staff was nice enough to let me take a picture of their BT21 macarons (minus Koya!) despite those flavors no longer being offered. Earl Grey Tea Creme Brûlée: I personally felt that the tea flavor could be stronger, but the essence of creme brûlée is that it's a subtle and refined dessert; the custard shouldn't be overpowering and that's exactly what was delivered. I could see why this was one of their most popular flavors as the tea flavor was quite nice. Vietnamese Coffee Creme Brûlée: flavor here could also be stronger, but the larger issue (for me) was the amount of condensed milk that was poured on top; I thought it was wayyy too much and wasn't sure if it was diluted in any way (condensed milk by itself contains a lot of sugar and thus is very sweet). However, I did like the attention to detail as Vietnamese Coffee is traditionally paired with condensed milk. I probably enjoyed this one more than the earl grey, just because this detail alone gives it the winning edge. The quality of both creme brûlée's are very high and you're definItely getting more value here than at most restaurant-served creme brûlée. The torching was very cool to watch and the cracking sound was incredibly satisfying. Location is a bit out of the ways, but it's definitely worth a visit. read more

Crackle supreme team dream. ===== They carry 10+ flavors of creme brulee and basically sell every Pokemon character on a macaroon. (What it do, Squirttle?) My favorites include the following: - Original - Early Grey - Salted Caramel $5 a pop, or $28 for six, isn't bad. This is definitely one of my favorite dessert place in town! The creme brûlée here offers a variety of flavors that no where else offers. My favorite one has always been Ferraro Roche, but salted caramel is really good too! They also have macaron, which I have never tried. They have different designs each time I visit, it will be my next go to! The place is quite small, not for a large group, but definitely a place for a cute dessert session after the first date! read more

I'm very behind on posting this, but I had 240 macarons for my wedding in October 2019. I tested macarons from multiple vendors and Crackle Creme was one of the top tastiest ones. Pokemon options were available at the same price of Thierry's and tasted just as good. Tomayo was responsive. A tower, delivery, and setup weren't available so I arranged for those separately through fb marketplace and friends. The macarons were very popular with my guests. They disappeared quickly, so FYI 240 isn't enough for 115 guests. read more
Such cute macarons! We arrived at opening on a weekday but 9 out of the 19 flavors weren't in stock, including the popular Totoro. ----- Passion Fruit Pig Macaron ($3.10). The macaron itself is acceptable: well-baked and not overly sweet. But it is pricey, and I've eaten much better macarons; plus it was lacking in passion fruit flavor. You're honestly paying to take a picture of the cuteness. Adorable though! Cheaper options are to buy half a dozen for $18.10 (becomes $3.02 each), or a dozen for $35.70 (becomes $2.98 each). ----- Ferrero Rocher Crème Brûlée ($5.25). This crème brûlée is topped with crushed Ferrero Rocher, a chocolate and hazelnut Italian confectionery. There's a thick layer of hardened caramelized sugar that crackles when broken by the spoon. Then inside is a rich chocolate-based custard. Lots of other flavors to choose from are offered as well. I liked this more than the macaron, but it was clearly reheated as the outside of the ramekin was hot but the inner custard was cold still. ----- Unfortunate that I couldn't give this place a higher rating, the food just didn't meet that bar. The place is compact so barely any seats are available, but the menu is nicely designed to accommodate to-go orders. read more
Holy cute macarons! Crackle Creme is a small little dessert coffee shop. They are known for their creme brule and character macarons. Pricey for each macarons at $3.25 each, if you get 6 or 12, there is a price break. Pistachio and Black Sesame were both flavored as they should. Soft and fluffy. Good shell crisp. Not overly sweet. Small for the price, you pay more for the cuteness. Cute macarons but they taste like any ordinary one you get. read more

AMAZING creme brûlée flavours. Small portions, but it's so decadent and the flavour combos are so boldly asian/tropical-inspired. There's also 3 vegan alternatives! (Passionfruit, Pina colada, & mango coconut) I tried their PANDAN COCONUT flavour, it was sooooo authentic tasting and very unique flavour combo for a french dessert. Absolutely loved it and I guarantee you will too if you enjoy South East Asian flavours. I also tried the VEGAN PINA COLADA and the 'custard' was a bit more lumpy but tasted incredible and true to the flavour. It had a bit of alcohol in it and was topped with a generous amount of toasted coconut! Both had an relatively even sugar coating and had the crisp/crack when you break your spoon into it, YUM :) There was 1 girl manning the entire store..from ringing the till and flaming the pre-made creme brûlées. The shop itself was really warm inside. They also serve smoothies and incredibly adorable cartoon macarons ! read more

This is such a cute little cafe with the CUTEST macaroons! Each macaroon is delicately designed with your favorite character and the craftsmanship is just impeccable for such a small surface. These macaroons are very instagrammable, but also tasty too! If you are in Vancouver's Chinatown, definitely check this place out and support small local Asian businesses! read more

My cousin recommended Crackle Creme for their cute macarons and Creme brûlée. Their macarons were adorable, but too sweet for my taste. They were so cute not to try! I HAD to get the hello kitty :) I wasn't impressed by their Creme brûlée, however to be fair I didn't try an OG kind. The hubby wanted to try the Ferraro Rocher Creme brûlée and it was too far from traditional creme brûlée that I didn't enjoy it. Also it was on the sweet side. It's cool how they have a drink dispenser of rosemary infused water. The seating inside and outside the shop of very limited and not great for large groups. The staff and space were both nice. I'd recommend giving them a try if you are in the area already. Parking is metered or you can park nearby on the street. Keep in mind a few blocks alway is Chinatown and it can get a little shady fast. read more
I like this place. Its unique and interesting. I mean I have had many Creme Brulee in my life time. But mostly vanilla flavor. They have lavender , green tea, latte flavor etc. I have heard that they even have durian flavor. The owner is really friendly. The only thing is that this place is small. They do have the option of getting 6 creme brulee for $28. Not bad or 1 for $5. Very interesting. The chai tea latte was ok. Taste like any other chai tea but I guess they are famous for their Creme Brulee and not so much for their drinks. Its located in an area that is starting to become a hipster area. Cool. Like an artisan creme brûlée cafe, this tiny shop sells ice cream sandwiches and many asian flavoured creme brûlées in both regular and mini sizes. I tried their hojicha creme brûlée and it was light in tea flavour but very creamy and not too sweet. I don't really love creme brûlée so I am not the best judge but this was only okay. The ice cream sandwich cookie part was also quite hard and the service is not the kindest, a little bit curt. Overall, I would recommend for creme brûlée lovers but its not for me. read more

This place has hands down the best macarons I've ever had in Seattle/Vancouver area. They were also too cute to eat but I had to eat it still . Texture of shell of the macaron was chewy and dense and the filling cream inside just bursts into different flavors. So perfectly made. I think box of 6 was CAD $18.10 and single ones were CAD $3.10 per piece. Still worth it. Next time if I happen to go back, I am planning to order all the different flavors of macaron. P.s. their lavender latte was too bitter but it kind of balanced out the sweetness from macaron. Oh and also their ferrero rocher creme burlee was so good!! read more
The sheer amount of flavor options at this place is fantastic. Super creative and vibrant flavors and combinations... I wish they still had the flight of 3 option available because I was really looking forward to trying at least a few of them, but alas... that is no longer an option at least for now. They do, however, have a frequent eaters punch card, which you can bet I will try to be filling up in the near future! So I was debating between the bailey's, bourbon butterscotch, tiramisu, milk tea, black sesame, vodka lychee and vietnamese coffee with nibs options (too many awesome options, right!?!?!), but finally decided on the vodka lychee after asking the cashier's opinion. I am not sure if there was much alcohol in this or if I was just imagining it and it had evaporated while being fired, but the flavor / heat definitely came through and I loved it. It packed quite a punch, was refreshing, light and really tasty. The coffee with nibs one was also good and just the right amount of cream / chocolate / coffee flavor! From what I can tell, I think the flavor of creme brulee options change daily -but I think its really fun to see innovative, artistic, creative presentations of old classics and to give a fresh twist to it as well. Not to mention, the macaroons there were super cute and creative, though I never got to try those nor the waffles, which also looked and smelled amazing! You can tell the owner and shop takes pride in what they produce and serve, and it shows. Well done! read more

Fun fact: I would do bad, bad, bad things for creme brûlée. It is my all time favourite dessert and if I could choose, would most likely be my last meal on earth. I love this place. I really do. The fact that their menu consists of 10+ different flavours of creme brûlées and 10+ flavours of macarons, makes this spot my favourite dessert shop in the city. Hands down. I've eaten in-store (on their small patio on a warm day) and have ordered to-go, and no matter the occasion, my sugary custard goodness has been wonderfully delicious. I usually stick to the classic vanilla, because why mess with something that's already perfect? But when I do tend to branch out, I've tried the white chocolate rose, mango coconut, salted caramel, and the earl grey. Earl grey being my favourite of the different flavours. I'm such a fan of their to-go creme brûlées because they're served in these small, itty bitty mason jars, which you can reuse later on for other things. They give you instructions to chill it no longer than 8 hours once you've left the shop, but let's be real... those treats are finished not even 15 minutes later. All the creme brûlées are made in the morning and chilled throughout the day, but are sugared and blow-torched to order so that the "burn" at the top is fresh and extra crispy. Crackle Creme is a MUST if you're a fan of creme brûlée. Or if you've never tried it before then this is the best place to try your first one. read more
I know this place would be Instagram worthy but would it hold up to the taste test? It definitely did! I tried the Thai tea and the pandan coconut. The flavors were spot on. The torch done on top to create the 'crackle creme' was perfect. I think the serving was just right. If you are ordering this to go, add $0.50 because it comes in this cute little mason jar that you can reuse. Nice that they have a water jar provided. The liege waffle on the other hand was disappointing. I guess I was expecting it to be heated. It was too soft without any crispness to it. Macarons were cute with these Pikachu designs. They have many flavors too. Flavor and texture-wise, it was okay but these will surely be a hit with the kids. read more

This place is soooo cute. We came here on New Years, shockingly they were opened! It was very slow when we came in, so it was nice and quiet which I love. I decided to go with the white chocolate rose Creme brûlée and my boyfriend got the matcha. And let me tell you..it was sooooo delicious. With every single spoonful, I would keep wanting more. The options were endless, definitely flavors you could never imagine. I would highly recommend bringing a friend so you both could get different flavors to share. I also noticed they had really cute macarons with also a huge variety in flavors. And did I mention..they're character macarons? Super duper cute. Unfortunately, they got very busy as we finished so I didn't want to wait. But will definitely come back when I'm back in town! Super excited to try other flavors! read more
Review for macarons only. I saw these cute characters on my friend's Instagram and knew I had to go. This is located in Chinatown and it's a tiny cafe. Their macarons come in different flavors and characters -- totoro, pokemon, kerropi, hello kitty, emojis, etc. I got 3 to go and they were VERY TASTY! I expected them to just look good and taste bad but it was not the case. The mango really did taste like mango and not artificial flavor tasting. The poop one was soooo cute!!! We went to Strathcona area for lunch and craving for some sweet after. Hmm... No dessert place nearby and most of it are closed on Sunday! Need help? Check with my good friends - Yelp and Google! Crackle Crème pop up and only few minutes away from where we are. Ok. Just gave it a try! We were quite lucky to get parking spot on one way street without circle around the blocks. It's small dessert shop and specialized for crème brulee. It's limited seating inside and outside the store, also, limited crème brulee favours for take-out. We bought few different crème brulee flavours to go. Overall, it's smooth but too sweet. Black sesame was great, the texture really thick and rich. Ferrero rochet was excellent, so smooth and strong taste of chocolate flavour. Earl Grey awesome too! I love desserts but crème bruelee is not my favour. $5 for such tiny dessert - only 2 tea spoons cream brulee wouldn't be my choice. read more

I love Creme brulee, so when I came to Vancouver knowing that there was a place dedicated to making creme brulee, I knew I had to go! The shop is super cozy, with paintings and positive messages on the walls. They also serve some of the cutest macaroons with the cutest characters like the poop emoji, and hello kitty, pokemon, etc. I love floral anything, so when I saw the honey lavender on the menu, I knew I had to get it. I was so happy with it because it had this nice strong floral taste. Service was also great. I was visiting vancouver and the person behind the cash register recommended some places too, so that was cool. I would definitely come back, not because I love creme brulee, but because I had a great experience and I really did like their creme brulee. read more

Although creme brulee is a pricey dessert and the macarons here are a bit pricey for the sake of their cute designs, they both taste amazing! At least, the Milk Tea creme brulee does. It's a small place decorated nicely, and you get to watch the staff put the finishing sugar crust on the creme brulee! The guy that was working there when I went did it barehanded--held the ramekin in one hand and the torch in the other! There's not a lot of seating, and no washrooms... but then again, it's a small place and most people come for dessert! read more

Finally, a place that lives up to its own hype! I've been meaning to try Crackle Creme for the longest time, and I finally had the opportunity to do so after brunch over the weekend. Anyways, the quaint shop is situated in the "nicer" part of Chinatown, and the entire street in general had a hipster/modern vibe to it. It shop was pretty much completely full and there were approximately 8 other people in line when I was there. Service was just a bit slow because the owner was there alone (so I'm docking off a star) but I really have to say that he does a great job with his creme brulee! The black sesame creme brulee is very unique and probably one of my favourite creme brulees that I have ever had! I also like how the take out jar is one of those fancy jam jars with a two-part lid. It's actually not too sweet and a bit on the light side. If you're looking for a traditional french creme brulee, this is definitely not for you! This is fusion at its best. read more
hmmmm, review might rattle some fans of this place, but i gotta call it as i taste it..lol! heard some murmurs about this place...was in the area, so why not! lol! our family loves creme brûlées so of course , we had to try one. we ordered the white chocolate rose flavour, to try and explore other flavours aside from the classic vanilla. next we had to try the waffles..we tried the waffle with chocolate ice cream java, and salted caramel drizzle. to be perfectly honest, the creme brûlée was a disappointment. it white chocolate flavour was just not there. it was bland and had no velvety white chocolate texture. to make matters worse, it was lumpy and not smooth. the flame-torched sugar glaze was good though. done really nice and tasted even better. it was not bitter and had no bad after taste. the waffles with ice cream was another let down. the actual waffle was not freshly made. it was taken from a pile of waffles. one bite and i knew it was not fresh. it was tough and chewy, had no fluffy center and outside crunch. it had no rise and texture as well. it tasted like a packaged waffle thats been left open inside the pantry and just toasted. my home made waffles tasted better. the ice cream was good, but how do you screw that one up. lol. the salted caramel drizzle was excellent. you can actually taste the flavours independently. another bummer is they had no washrooms...not even a wash sink! wow! im surprised they were given a biz permit lol. in short, there was no crackle in my desserts, and definitely lacked creme! i was extremely disappointed! happy eating! read more
