Thai Tea, regular size, $4.98 - 4.5 Stars
    Eva M.

CrackleMi Vietnamese Grill in Ballard is in a newer modern building. The restaurant is roomy. It is mostly self-serve - order from a screen, help ourselves to cutleries, water, take-home boxes, and clear our table, too. They bring the food to you. When we arrived, there were no staff on the restaurant floor, while the kitchen was very busy. Table-clearing was a mixed bag with some customers who understood and self-cleared, while others left a giant mess. The wait for the food was pleasantly brief. Other than a utilitarian feeling, the overall experience was a-ok. The portion size is generous. The Food: Combo Rice/Salad - Grilled Ribeye, Chicken, and Soy Braised Egg, $15.88 - 4.5 Stars Combo Vermicelli Salad - Grilled Pork, Shrimp Skewer, Eggroll, $16.98 - 4.5 Stars Thai Tea, regular size, $4.98 - 4.5 Stars Both meals are visually pleasing with fresh veggies and well-marinated proteins that are freshly grilled. Sauces are pre-packed in plastic cups and plentiful for the meal. Honestly, no complaints about the food. I was pleasantly surprised by the size of these platters. If having less service means I get to have food like this for a reasonable price, sign me up! I brought home half of my meal. Yum! Their Thai Tea is legit home-brewed from tea leave, not from a can. Recommend. I can see this being a gem for the locals, especially since they open till late. It is unlikely to be worth a drive from somewhere farther. P.S. They don't serve pho.

Pretty good spot for a quick lunch or takeout! Solid prices, good portions and their sauces are very tasty. Everything tastes fresh and it's obvious from the first bite that everything is made in house. It's self serve and self bussing so tip is low which is a welcoming change. The interior is spacious but not as inviting or welcoming for dining in. Frequent takeouts at a convenient location with later hours than the weird hours most businesses operate by in the PNW. I'm from the east coast and am used to proper standard hours with lots of 24 hour shops. This place being open until 11pm is incredibly appreciated and should be normalized. Overall I'm glad I came and will be back.

Everything was good, and the food came out quick! Ordering at the kiosk was easy, and the food runners bring your food to the table. The creamy house sauce is so tasty, and I would definitely add it to any order. I do wish there was soy sauce available at the table and not just as an addition to the order. The complimentary jasmine tea was really nice as well, adding to the nice vibe of the restaurant.

High quality food, packed with authentic flavor. Lemon grass protein with half steam rice and half garden salad. Top with egg. I also ordered the steak banh mi, huge bread baked to edible crust not too crunchy like some restaurants.

We love the chill ambience in the restaurant. There were multiples tablets to order your food from. Self serve filtered water, utensils, and sauces. It's optional to clear your own dishes. Lots of window and natural lighting, along with plants that draped from the ceiling. Even though they were fake they still looked nice. I ordered the crackle mi bahn mi. It came with grilled pork, braised pork belly, a fried egg and the usual pickled vegetables. The braised pork belly was tender and fatty. Next time I'm going to order extra protein and Mayo. The bread was soft and crunchy at the same time, and the bread wasn't too thick, which was perfect. I can't wait to come back and try the other items on the menu.

Amazing pork noodle bowl and regular Vietnamese iced coffee!

I've been trying to get into this Vietnamese spot for months, and it was so worth the wait. Ever since coming back from Vietnam, I've been craving fresh, flavorful Vietnamese food -- and these guys absolutely delivered. My pork noodle bowl was packed with crisp veggies and herbs, and all the sauces were spot on -- bright, savory, and layered with that signature Vietnamese balance of sweet, sour, and spicy. The Vietnamese iced coffee hit just right too -- strong, sweet, and perfectly creamy. I also really appreciated how clean the bathroom was -- always a good sign! -- and the beautiful seating area with lush plants hanging from the ceiling made the whole meal feel even more special. I'm already planning my next visit because there's so much more on the menu I want to try. If you're missing Vietnam or just want a delicious, satisfying meal in a lovely setting, this place won't disappoint!

I have been getting catering from CrackleMi for months, and I cannot rave enough about the food! The ingredients are fresh, flavorful and creates a delicious experience for your tastebuds. I was able to visit their location for the first time and it tasted even better in person. The atmosphere is chill and laid-back, and I loved that the windows were open on a sunny breezy day. I will continue to order from them, and will definitely visit in person more!

Got a takeout chicken bowl from here that was fantastic. Perfectly seasoned, a large portion, with fresh veggies and rice. I'm pretty picky about overcooked chicken but this was perfect. Since it was delivered can't say much about the service or ambiance but super happy with this work lunch!

My family and I went to the Ballard Farmers Market on Sunday and parked near this place so we decided to give it a try. It wasn't bad. I'd just say it was average. We ordered the Eggcited Banh Mi and the Grilled Ribeye Vermicelli Bowl. The vermicelli bowl had a choice of fish sauce or sesame soy. I chose the latter. The veggies were fresh, the beef was well seasoned. It's just a place that does basic Vietnamese food. Order at a kiosk when you first come in and grab your own water or hot tea. They bring your food to you but you should bus your own table when finished. Would I return? No, I probably wouldn't. Not bad but not terribly memorable enough to give it a second visit.

The Smokey Bowl (with Grilled Chicken)
    Laura G.

The Smokey Bowl: I got the grilled chicken option, and it was yummy! The meat was flavorful and tastes great with the rice. I really enjoyed the texture of the rice. The salad portion tasted good and fresh. The flavors of all the components tasted great together. However, it was a little too oily for my preference. You can order on a kiosk or via a QR code at the table. After your meal, you can bus your dishes by the exit. Everything is mostly self-serve--getting your own water cups, utensils, napkins, etc.

    Leijie Q.

Very tasty and great portions! We almost always have leftovers. Some protein options can be a little salty sometimes but great overall!

Very spacious restaurant. Very much self serve style with kiosk, QR Code all setup to take your order. Food get serve promptly by the kitchen staff and let me tell you, the food is amazing!!!! The cracklemi banh has very well marinated meat and big chunk of braised of pork belly. Yum Spring rolls is so fresh and not greasy. Every potion is super generous and the price is just right. Definitely worth coming back.

Unfortunately, that is no longer the case. Service has declined significantly. Not only is there still a long wait for a table, but there is also an extended wait for food after you're seated. Combined with the restaurant's recent "OK" health department rating, we've decided not to return. If you're looking for a pleasant dining experience with attentive service, you may want to consider other options.

I felt like the portion of veggie and meat wasn't enough for all the rice rolls, plus the actual heo quay was dry with barely any crispy skin. I think they also forgot to give us the heo quay because we had to ask for it much after the banh uot came out. I would skip this next time. I would also skip the banh khot as it was on the softer, chewier side when my personal preference is light and crispy. Those who do like it soft will definitely enjoy it though. As for flavor, it had an extremely prominent coconut taste- it usually isn't so strong in banh khot so I wasn't so fond of this. My family did really enjoy the com tam and banh mi chao. I only had one bite of each, but I would get these items again. Their drinks on the other hand, were delightful. I got the tamarind black tea and my step dad got the lychee green tea. Service: (4/5) The service here didn't really stand out much but I didn't pay much mind to it. They were very nice but there was a sense of disorganization, mostly due to us not being acknowledged when we first walked in and having some of our food forgotten about.
