Got lucky at Lucky's. Until now, I've never seen a pho place with a condiment bar. Want fresh jalapenos or Thai basil or bean sprouts in your pho? Serve yourself! There's also all the chili crisp you can eat. I'm dead inside, so chili crisp is a delicious addition to any of their dishes. If you get pho, it comes out quick. I got their #3 pho - beef, meatball, and tendons. First sip of the broth was a whopper: it was a tad saltier than I'd like. However, after adding veggies and mixing, the saltiness was less noticeable. But ignoring the salt, the broth hit the spot (most important!) and was tasty to the last sip. Lucky! The pho here is amazing! I got a Thai tea, brisket, steak and tendon bowl, and my partner got a veggie bowl. The broth is delicious and they gave me plenty of toppings and noodles! I like how they have a self serve station for sauces, fix ins (sprouts, limes etc) and a water dispenser. Service was pretty quick after ordering. Finally came to try this place after passing by it a lot. Portion sizes were generous. The service was super friendly and speedy. It was pretty busy but everything came out fast. Interior is clean and spacious. Got the shrimp spring rolls and they were good. The peanut sauce was extra peanut buttery. Also both got #3s and the brisket was the best part. Solid pho spot. I've only ever done take out. I like that they have a variety of Vietnamese dishes and not just pho. Sometimes I'm not feeling a big bowl of pho with all the noodles. There was a steady stream of customers and we were happy to have ordered and found a table for four. Three of the four ordered Pho while I ordered the vermicelli noodle salad with chicken. I finally beat the crowds by going ridiculously early, but hey, it worked! It's a cute, clean little space. I love Lucky's. It is my favorite spot to get pho. I've gotten the veggie pho and also veggie banh mi. Both were spectacular. Anytime I get pho, I wish it was Lucky's. However, one cannot judge the authenticity without judging the food. I ordered the Pho Bo Vien (Pho with meatballs) which is my usual go-to order. The broth was very flavourful and had the right consistency that I would expect from any Pho soup base. From the noodles to the meat, it was all very standard and stayed true to how Pho should taste and feel in your mouth. It definitely fulfilled my Pho craving that I had that day. I always walk by Lucky's Pho swearing they have pho scented febreeze in the air. The scent is so intense through the vents that fills up the street when you walk by. This is a smaller restaurant and being in the center of Fremont, it can get pretty busy at peak times. The pho itself is average (but one of the few options in the Fremont area), flavorful broth but they don't give you a lot of meat and I'm not a huge fan of the noodles they choose. It's easy to style the pho however you want, with the walk up toppings bar (unlimited basil, lime, and bean sprouts). The staff is friendly and helpful. read more

Broth was piping hot and delicious (lots of spices), noodles were still chewy and did not break apart as I picked them up, and meat seemed like it was from high quality cuts that were decently thick (but not so thick that the meat was too tough). You can't go wrong with PHO! The pho was very good especially their broth. I always get a meatball pho and their meatballs were the perfect size and texture. At some other restaurants, i experience eating very hard or dense meatballs which is not to my liking. But Lucky's has great pho choices!
