My original choice for dinner fell through one afternoon after a day at the beach. Yelp to the rescue! After looking up nearby places I chose craft roots. 5 stars I was intrigued, first the old town feel in a very nice area I was seated right away the menu was very extensive and had many choices and all vegan! I ordered a "chicken" sandwich and a beer the sandwich was more like a burger it came with fries & small side salad it was very good and filling. The vibe was absolutely amazing the staff members seemed to be having as much fun as the diners. They had a good mix of people families, large parties and couples they have outside dining as well as inside. You can't go wrong here but since the menu is so big you may have to eat here a few times to find your favorite dish!

The food is always bomb for a vegetarian place. We are not vegetarians but just love the food and pizza here. They also have CBD drinks on tap. Service is always friendly and fast.

We just hit town and were looking for a nice place for a late lunch and Craft Roots filled the bill. Service was fast and friendly. Lots of beers on tap. I opted for the Pliny the Elder Did I mention this restaurant is Vegan? It is and fantastic. I had the Fiji apple and fig salad and my sweetie had the Caesar salad which had some amazing grilled mushrooms! They have so many options and have a brick pizza oven and lots of interesting choices to try there. Can't wait to go back next time we're in town. Highly recommended

This second visit was night and day compared to our first visit. Everything and everyone was on point. Cassidy (sp?) was a pleasure to meet and took great care of us. Our appetizers and entrees arrived in a timely manner and everything tasted great. We will definitely stop by the next time we're in MH!

The food is so tasty, I came 2 days in a row. Icy was my server. Super nice and explained the menu. And she remembered my name! My favorite was the Japanese Cauliflower. And really, everything was good. 1st day, I had the Japanese cauliflower and teriyaki bowl. 2nd day, I had the chili fries (this sauce is vegan? Yes) and Korean bowl. The owner said hi. He's hard working. Never sat still. He's definitely a working owner. Maybe this is why this restaurant is so good. He talked about the Maitake burger. Will have to try it next time. The dishes were so inviting, I dug in before taking a picture. Apologies. The dish will not look as good. Btw, nice size dishes!

This place was so fabulous, so happy our friends found it for lunch. The parking structure was nearby so it was pretty easy. The restaurant was busy, but we didn't have to wait for too long. There seating in the inside and the outside as options. Our waiter and the staff were friendly and really great. The food was absolutely delicious! The pizzas had a nice touch and were flavorful. The appetizers and portions were great. We really enjoyed our fried chicken sandwich. It was super crispy and the flavor with the condiments were great. Absolutely recommend!

Driving through town, craving a great beer. Our local was closed. Now what? Let's see what YELP has revealed. There in the review, Russian River Brewing Company, ON TAP! Check the menu, let's go. What a great welcoming locals hang out. The entryway is steep, wouldn't recommend crutches or a wheelchair, use the side entrance. Once inside, a few tables, a bar for about 8, television on in the corner and a wood burning oven all aglow awaiting the next paddle of dough. The mood was laid back and comfortable. This was our first time in a total vegan restaurant. We had already settled on a great beer, now what do we eat. The menu has something for everyone. We settled on the cheeZe pizza. A handmade, wood fired pizza. A little skeptical, how will vegan cheeZe taste? DELICIOUS!!! The perfect amount of tomato sauce, a robust pesto and some of the cheesiest cheese ever! Nothing to take home but a warm feeling and a full belly. We enjoyed so much, we came back again. We had half cheese and half "meat." We will look for something like this close to home. Until then, a great place to share and remember.

Great service, great food, cool vibe! I was so skeptical beforehand but I loved Craft Roots so much! The kombucha was amazing, the margarita pizza was pretty good and the buffalo cauliflower appetizer is a MUST have!!! I appreciated that they had gluten free options as well.

Absolutely spectacular, fully plant-based restaurant in downtown Morgan Hill. Service is super friendly and the food is SO good. Now I have to figure out reasons to drive 45 minutes to get here again and again. Good beer selection as well. It's heaven on earth!

Roots on the Ground 100% vegan restaurant located in Downtown Morgan Hill ironically next-door to the Meat Sweat Paradise, aka Trail Dust BBQ--which the owner of Craft Roots used to manage for ten years. The brainchild of local couple Justin and Nysaa Gaich, Craft Roots has been serving up delicious seasonal creations using the freshest local ingredients and a sophisticated bar menu to go along with. The Good: *It's vegan without pushing the whole radical vegan agenda that some places do. They're just focused on the food and that's as it should be. *Dog-friendly outdoor dining *Great selection of local brews on-tap *Reservations thru the Yelp app, as well as a Yelp Waitlist *Menu changes seasonally *Service on both our visits was outstanding. And our recent server, Isolyn, was excellent; friendly, genuine, and attentive. *Loved the flavor and char on their pizza crust that had a nice chew to it. *Their Fried Cauliflower bites are fantastic; we've had both the Buffalo and the Korean BBQ ones and they're both fantastic. Just depends on how you're feeling: heat or sweet heat. *Nashville Hot Chi'kn was hearty, crispy and had a decent spiciness. *Fries are fucking delicious. Crispy, fluffy, and well-salted. *Carissa loved her Power Bowl which reminded her of a really flavorful fried rice dish. The Meh: *Pizzas are delicious but be prepared for an extra wait, so pro tip: if you want pizza order it asap. The Ugly: *DT Morgan Hill can get busy at certain times, so parking can be an issue. I did see a parking garage nearby but I'm not sure if it charges or is free. Conclusion: Fantastic vegan eats, service and ambiance in one of our favorite Downtowns in The Bay. Highly recommended--and this is coming from a big meathead!

Food was great! The Buffalo Cauliflower Bites were a 10/10--crispy, flavorful, and perfectly paired with the ranch. I had the Bourbon BBQ Burger, which was solid & the side of Chili Cheeze Fries was tasty. I really appreciate that they offer gluten-free options and even have dedicated gluten-free fryers. The CBD cocktail was refreshing as well. Service was quick and efficient--our server was attentive and friendly throughout. The ambiance was great too, and I loved that they offer outdoor seating

Absolutely loved this place! I stopped in for some appetizers and was pleasantly impressed. The chili cheese fries and buffalo cauliflower bites were both full with flavor and perfectly cooked. You'd never guess everything here is vegan. I'm a carnivore and I was blown away. The beer selection is fantastic too, with plenty of local and craft options to pair with your food. Great vibe, friendly staff, and delicious food that anyone can enjoy. Highly recommend!

    Are there gluten free options?

Yes, the whole menu is or can be substituted to gluten free. Our frier is dedicated gluten free. So anything fried is gluten free. We have GF buns, pizza crust, and flatbreads. Just make sure to tell your server.

    Is this all vegan food?

    Yes, 100%.

For someone with some hearing issues would it be better to be inside or outside on a Saturday for lunch?

I think outside is better. The inside is small. It may be noisy.

When he visited his parents recently they had talked about MoHi and when they visited downtown, he saw the restaurant and automatically knew we needed to try it. We travel everywhere with our dogs and he found out that they had a dog friendly patio. A few months later, we were in town and decided to try it for breakfast. There were not a lot of reviews or pictures of breakfast so he made it a point to order some items recommended by our server, Ty - who was phenomenal by the way. Always checked in on us and even complimented how nice and chill our doggy was. We ordered a vanilla latte, orange juice, the breakfast pizza, and the eggs Benedict. The breakfast pizza came highly recommended by Ty. On paper it sounded delicious, but we were still reluctant, because a breakfast pizza? It was delicious, lol. They have a sauce on there that is very similar to what In-N-Out uses and the farm fresh eggs and cheese brought everything together. I decided to try the eggs benedict because the English muffin is scratch-made. The benedict was savory with confit potatoes and fruit. The only thing that threw me off was the fresh fruit was tossed in a pesto dressing. I can definitely do sweet and savory, and all the other weird, eclectic mixes, but this one was just too different for me. The orange juice was a highlight because they literally squeeze it right in front of you at the bar. They have other mixes that they can do as well like orange carrot or orange strawberry. So make sure you ask what is on the menu for fresh squeezed fruits because this one you don't wanna miss Outside there are at least 20 tables with dog friendly written all over the patio area. They have water bowls, turf, and even a cute little fire hydrant. There was a doggy on the patio already who was well-behaved. Overall, we'd be back to try the rest of the breakfast menu!

Southern Farm MOHI…read moreFarms delivers true farm-to-table dining as they serve up locally sourced seasonal ingredients, including some from their very own Uvas Farm. They are part of the Léal restaurant group, which has several similarly named restaurants in the works (MOHI Pasta and MOHI at the Grove), as well as a vineyard (Léal Vineyards) and a flower bar (Luxe Flower Bar). They also apparently own a theater, mansion, ranch, and an upcoming complex that will include housing, shops, and more restaurants. The Good: * Several free lots and free street parking * Catering available * Outdoor dog-friendly seating * They also have a bakery and café available if you're just looking for a light morning breakfast. * Service was friendly but stretched very thin during both our visits as the servers were working more tables than they should've been. * Overall, their pricing is very fair for the quality of the food. * Local beers on tap, as well as a large wine menu. * Wood-fired pizza oven. I didn't try the pizza, but my son wolfed it down. * Carissa loved her brunch Short Rib Fried Rice bowl, especially all the perfectly cooked butternut squash. * Tempura broccoli was fantastic. I loved that they served this instead of the ubiquitous fries to go with the burgers. The Meh: * I don't know why they can't have a menu on their website? The only way to view what's available is you have to pretend you're making an order. * The Brunch Loco Moco was just okay; the hamburger was a bit overcooked for my liking. Otherwise, the egg, rice, and gravy were delicious. * Their burger-to-bun-to-topping ratio is not good. It's mostly that their buns are much, much too thick for the tiny smashburger patties, and the whole thing ate very dry despite all the cheese. I did enjoy the crispiness of the bacon, though. * The salmon in the Roasted Salmon Bowl was also overcooked, and the amount of salmon for the price point wasn't really worth it, in our opinion. The Ugly: * Vegetarian Farm Spring Rolls were pretty bad, if I'm being honest. The only reason we wolfed them down was we had just arrived after a long 5+mile hike and were starving. The ricepaper skin was tough and leathery, and the filling wasn't very substantial. The sauce also needed to be thicker to stick to the rolls. * Parking can be a bit of a hassle, especially if you arrive during the nearby farmers market (Sat 9 a.m. - 1 p.m.), as they are located in the large parking lot on Depot St. Conclusion: Overall, we had very high hopes for this place, as this is the type of place we usually love. However, even after two visits, we just don't see ourselves coming back for another visit anytime soon.

The host who helped us was a young girl and she was very polite, nice, and helpful. :) Something I really love about this restaurant is that they have so many amazing different options to select from. It was honestly a bit tough to make a decision because everything sounded so great in the menu! lol. Eventually I did decide I would try something new so I chose the Filet Mignon Pasta because it sounded like something that is very unique. I have never heard of this before so I was inspired to try it out! :) My boo got the Chicken with rice and broccoli. Everything was delicious! &Wow the food arrived very fast. I must say we absolutely LOVED the Filet Mignon Pasta it was PACKED with so much juicy, meaty, flavor. Yum yum! Highly recommend. Everything with our experience here was lovely and our server was pretty decent also. I only took one star off because the restaurant experience leaves a little to be desired like we don't necessarily love it enough to come back but it was definitely a nice experience overall. :) The #1 memorable thing about our experience was the delicious pasta :D but everything else was pretty standard. What made it worse was that we were hoping to treat our mom to a nice meal, but all of us ended up disliking the food. The appetizer plates we were first given were visibly dirty, so we had to ask for clean replacements right away. A few people in our group ordered the loaded clam chowder since we'd seen so many positive reviews online, but it was extremely underwhelming. The seafood tasted undercooked and the soup itself had barely any flavor. The wait time was also frustrating. We received appetizers fairly quickly, but waited almost an hour and a half for our entrees. During that time, staff kept coming by offering extra bread and refills we didn't ask for, which honestly felt more like an attempt to make up for the long delay. Meanwhile, several larger parties that arrived after us were served their meals before we were, even though our group was only 5 people. What also made the experience uncomfortable was that once our food finally arrived, we felt rushed to leave. After waiting, staff were already trying to clear plates while some of us were still eating, which felt unfair considering the delay was completely out of our control. By the time the food finally arrived, the quality just did not justify the wait. Overall, it was a very disappointing Mother's Day experience, especially after driving so far. Sadly, we won't be returning.

Another sign states that Betsy's has been serving this community since 1981. I was greeted immediately upon entering and advised to "just sit anywhere." I grabbed the first booth I encountered and was brought water and menu right away. The waitress took my order of a bacon cheeseburger and onion rings ($16.50). A few minutes later the onion rings of my dreams (super crispy on the outside and a real onion rings inside with enough crunch left that you can bite through without dragging a soggy onion out of its outer shell, so each mouthful is both onion and crunchy coating) arrived and a sandwich with crispy (not soggy, underdone) bacon, hefty burger patty (done just how I like them with carmelized edges and perfectly done thick center) with cheese, pickles, red onions, lettuce and mayo. I asked them to leave off the tomato due to my food allergies. The bun was soft but held up well to the heft of the sandwich. The decor was classic 60's style diner. While the seats were well padded and the covering looked practically new, some of the tables showed the wear of the years on the corners. There is also a short lunch counter next to the kitchen. What really caught my attention is the staff seemed to know most of the guests and greeted them by name as they came and went and inquired into different aspects of their lives. This personal touch reflects what seems to be a long-time relationship with dedicated customers. Parking is close to the door. This place was a little hard for me to find as it is behind the bowling alley at Tennant Station Shopping center, but was well worth the effort to locate and enjoy. I will be returning in the future!!

We finally decided on the chili verde, scrambled eggs, country potatoes with flour tortillas AND the eggs in a nest, with hash browns and bacon. Both were yummy yet I must say the chili verde and eggs were the favorite at the table. I have to mention the coffee was good and our mugs were always full. Betsy's crew was so friendly and attentive. From the moment we walked in, we were greeted with a smile at the door, seated timely and given time to figure out what to order. By the way, all the tables were full. Which immediately told me, we were about to have a fantastic meal. The restaurant was clean, ran smoothly and the customers all truly looked to be enjoying their meals. Can't wait to try the pancakes!

Most recent dining experience is at Il Vigneto but the review could apply to Iron Bar too…read more Executive chef Basarov has been around about a year and has really hit his stride, updating many of the classics with Mediterranean and Latin American themes. Pastry chef Manon is amazingly talented with a wide variety of crave worthy cakes and decadent ice creams & sorbets. (Dec 2022 update: sadly it looks chef manon is moving on; Cordevalle is advertising for a new pastry chef.) French Baguette: some like is soft but I ask for it seared crusty. The aged prosciutto is real Parma and outstanding. Tuna Tartare: a classic and deservedly so. The sweetness of the soy and the spice of the chiles accentuate the tuna. Butternut squash soup: light and delicate and not too creamy. Good crunch from sunflower seeds. So good I got this again. Short Rib: menu says domestic wagyu which might be overkill for slow cooking. Regardless it's very tender. The polenta is a little too cheesy for me. Gnocchi & Truffles: it hasn't been on the menu recently but I beg you to order it if you see it. No description needed - just eat it. Thanksgiving turkey: cooked sous vide which keeps the breast meat moist and tender. The dark meat was shredded and nicely seasoned. Cranberry: listed as cranberry and cinnamon compote. Tastes like it has orange in it as well. I had to taste it 4 or 5 times to make sure. And take some home... Pumpkin pie: holy pumpkin Batman! I'm not obsessed with pumpkin like some are but this was easily the best I've ever had. Outstanding doesn't do it Justice. Pecan pie: with maple and bourbon! Yes this is sweet as pecan pie should be but not cloyingly sugary. The torched marshmallow on top kicks it up another notch. The bar tender makes an excellent Manhattan. There's a good selection of wine. Like everyone who works at cordevalle, the staff is friendly, attentive and helpful. Reminder you're at a high end restaurant at a high end resort so you pay for what you get.

Love this way to start the meal. Next the "taste of the South Bay" seafood platter- oysters, shrimp, and yellowtail carpaccio. Bread course with garlic confit. "Our burrata" pasta-subtle yet spicy. The star dish of the night was the parpadelle with slow braised lamb shank, fava beans, and pecorino. Wow!! loved all the flavors here but especially the differing textures of slow cooked lamb mixed with crispy pieces and fresh fava beans. The service was as impeccable as the food! If you ever have the chance to eat here- do it!
