We were driving home from a quick trip to SJ and decided to stop and eat in Gilroy. After driving around for a while, we saw this little place in the corner and decided to try it out. Walking in the lady greets you and allows you to select your own seat. It isn't packed at all. The waitress is very kind. My bf ordered the chili verde burrito and I ordered the chicken bacon sandwich. Our food was absolutely amazing. The chili verde had the softest meat I've ever had (yes, I stole some off his plate!). The flavors were very authentic, the colors vibrante and the taste was like homemade with love. My chicken sandwich also didn't disappoint. I decided on a salad so can't rate any fries. The chicken was delicious perfectly seasoned and not dry AT ALL. We also ordered the chips and guacamole that was the best I've had anywhere. Extremely fresh feels like it was made to order. We drove home and enjoyed our large amount of left overs (because the portions are large) for dinner and it was still amazing!!! We will be back just to visit Dany's! read more

It is Dany's - not Denny's. I have made that mistake before. The menu is similar to Denny's with the exception of moons over my hammy. You won't find that classic at Dany"s. Dany's offers basic breakfast and lunch options- with some interesting daily specials. I have been here a few times now ,and ordered the same thing both times. I opted for the chile verde and eggs with country potatoes and beans. Not the best chile verde I have ever tried , but not bad. I like the double carb combo with the beans and potatoes. I order my eggs over medium to get the yolk blended in there with the chile verde. My breakfast including tip came out to about 25.00. I feel like this place is a little pricey for a breakfast spot , but it is a step up from Denny's. I'll be back , but will have a hard time ordering something new as I know what to expect from the chile verde breakfast. read more

Decided to come by after getting gas at Costco and have heard 50/50 about this place. I didn't order anything exotic as my breakfast was pretty basic. I discovered Danys a few months back while at WalMart in Gilroy. I wanted a sit down meal and was delighted with my experience. Danys has an extensive menu with American & Mexican items on the menu. The food is fantastic and the service is good too. I've gone in several times and they remember my order every time. Dude!!!!!!! The chilaquiles with Chile Verde is bomb! I was just passing through one morning and found this place. The staff were friendly, but take a while to greet you and take your order. It wasn't busy and when I went to pay they were all chit chatting by the register(all 5 of them). It's fine because the food was delicious. They have several ways the chilaquiles can be topped and I asked for which one was the best. The server said chile verde and they didn't disappoint. It's the best I've had. As we headed home on a rainy morning, we stopped in Gilroy for breakfast. Because we were in an RV we were looking for someplace that had adequate parking. I found the spot on yelp, and it sounded interesting and the parking worked for us. Located in the small strip mall it doesn't look particularly special, but it was a nice surprise once in the door. Our server was friendly, and answered questions on the menu that we had. There are traditional breakfast offerings as well as some with a Mexican influence. We opted for the latter. Mr. S had chorizo scramble, but I think the star was my Chilaquiles with Chili Verde. Every bite was filled with flavor and not overly spicy, just perfect. I had leftovers, but never got to eat them. Mr. S got to them first and really enjoyed them the second time around. I'd return for breakfast anytime! read more

4 of us came here for brunch on the way from SF to Carmel by the Sea. The Yelpers recommend the green chili pork, so I got it with eggs. It was indeed scrumptious, the pork was nice and tender, to too spicy and my eggs were cooked perfectly. I wish there had been more beans, though and the tortillas arrived to the table late. I am subtracting 1 star since they didn't get my husband's order correct. He ordered the green chili Chilaquiles, but our waitress was distracted at the moment he ordered (by some regulars asking about a table), and she missed the word "chilaquiles" - so he got the same this as me - and his eggs were undercooked a bit. Amazing food and dining experience! My sister and I met our mom and aunt in Gilroy to do some birthday shopping and I wanted to find a local restaurant to have lunch. My sister and I split the club sandwich. Classic club with turkey and ham, bacon, lettuce, tomato, and added avocado- subbed sourdough for the white. It was best club sandwich we've had in a restaurant. Our Mom and aunt split the BLT on sourdough and added avocado. They absolutely loved it. We also ordered a side of onion rings to share with ranch on the side. My aunt that never orders fried food said that they were the best onion rings she'd ever had. Ample, large parking lot - not too far off the highway (this is important for travelers with trucks, trailers, & RV's). We noted a horse trailer in the lot when we pulled in. Hubs ordered the steak Chilaquiles (eggs over easy), I opted for the Chile Verde & eggs (scrambled) with flour tortillas and a side of avocado. The Chile Verde was excellent - huge chunks of tender pork in a flavorful and not too spicy pool of thick green deliciousness. Came with beans and cheese as well as potatoes and two warm tortillas that tasted homemade. Hubs took one of my warm flour tortillas to enjoy his chilaquiles - he preferred it over his chips. We both agreed the verde sauce was the star. Restaurant was clean, service was good. Coffee was hot and strong. Dany's serves rubbery pancakes and the forks are weirdly small but who cares because this place is IMMACULATELY CLEAN. Clean tables, clean chairs, clean floor. The salt and pepper shaker tops are kept clean. Who does that any more? Even the syrup bottle they keep on the table isn't sticky. I HAD to find something wrong, so I wiped my fingers across the top of a picture frame in the men's room. Guess what? I didn't find a hint of dust. I wept with joy as angels sang. Seriously, these folks go above and beyond on cleanliness. I don't really care about picture frame dust, but it's a good sign these people care about their facility. I always wonder how clean the kitchen can be in places with filthy restrooms. My waitress was a bit slow to take my order, but once placed my breakfast arrived fresh and hot. I loved that even the bussing staff kept my water glass full, and ask patrons if we need anything.
