We had a great first experience at Vera Restaurant in Morgan Hill. This new downtown spot has a beautiful atmosphere with art, a bar, and a welcoming feel. We enjoyed the salad and mock cocktails, with beautiful presentation and great attention to detail. Our server was knowledgeable and provided excellent service. Prices were reasonable for a downtown location. We look forward to coming back and trying more from the menu!

Vera has become one of my new fave restaurants in downtown Morgan Hill. The ambience is top notch, the food is fresh and always tasty, and the drinks always have a little razzle dazzle that gives an unexpected pop. Nothing about this place is average. Shoutout to Mike who always provides great service! I was so sad when I hear they will be closing this restaurant at the end of summer. I highly recommend making an appearance before it's gone, and they offer a great happy hour if the timing works for you!

4.5 stars. Busy restaurant. Friendly staff. Inside an artsy building. Restaurant interior is organized and clean. A bar is available along with indoor and outdoor patio seating. Food is tasty and aesthetically pleasing. Some signature drinks available (cocktails and mocktails) worth trying. Downtown area so be prepared to find parking either along the street or in public lots.

This is a newer trendy restaurant that specializes in seasonal menu items and is tucked behind a small art gallery. It is located on the first floor, so don't make the mistake of going directly upstairs when you first enter. We enjoyed many items off of the winter menu. We started with the Little Gem Salad which was very good. The crisp apples were a nice touch. The Oysters came with 3 phenomenal sauces & vinaigrettes. I enjoyed them so much, that I kept the sauces for my other plates! The yellowtail sashimi was very buttery and melted in my mouth. Great quality. For entrees, my dad enjoyed the other salad on the menu which was the Kale, Grain, & Pomegranate Salad. My mom chose the roasted chicken, which was a huge portion and came with potatoes. We ordered a side of potatoes, but realized there was more than enough provided on her entree. My brother chose the Ahi Tuna Steak. We loved the miso sauce it came with and it had a slight vinegary taste to it. I ended with the Catalan Style Sautéed Prawns, which were delicious and had a nice kick. For dessert, we shared the Espresso Mousse Cups and an Affogato. My dad did not want to share, so he got a single scoop of pistachio gelato. Everything was AMAZING! The service was super friendly. The server was able to make great recommendations and tell us in depth about each item we had questions about. We went for lunch, so it wasn't very busy at all. Afterwards, we enjoyed walking around the art gallery. I highly recommend this restaurant if you are into good quality food and don't mind paying for the experience.

Love the concept of having a restaurant inside of an art gallery truly amazing idea. The food was great very fresh and our server was top-notch. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the decor of this restaurant. Highly recommend checking out this local gem.

Vera offers a complimentary museum with an indoor and outdoor dining experience with fresh ingredients to table. Food / Drinks Burrata with fig and oranges - $17 The dish is served with balsamic pearls, honey-balsamic vinaigrette, pecans, and basil oil. It was very light, refreshing, and paired well with the toasted bread points. Maine Lobster Roll - $38 The butter toasted top-cut bun served with chilled lobster-salad, lemon, tidewater coleslaw and old bay seasoned potato chips was a shareable-sized plate. The lobster roll was cut in half. The coleslaw did not look appetizing and was a bit dry with minimal dressing - I didn't eat it at all. The chips had a nice kick to it from the light seasoning and wasn't oily. Toasted Bread Points - $8 Lightly toasted sourdough bread slices that was baked to perfection and had a nice chewy texture. Salmon Tartar - $24 The diced ora king salmon was plentiful, served with mandarin, pickled shallot, cucumber, and sweet chili-passion fruit sauce. The dish was a bit too sweet for my liking. Summertime One - $16 The drink was substituted with tequila instead of the chopin vodka. It was accompanied with peach nectar, elderflower, lime, fresh basil, and club soda. Although I didn't try this drink, my friend shared that the tequila was very prominent. Summertime Two - $16 The sereno pepper infused Lalo tequila, fresh watermelon juice, agave, tajin, lime, and black lava salt rim. This drink was sweet, spicy, and super refreshing. Customer Service Mike was the server during my dining experience. He was very attentive, friendly, and provided exceptional customer service. He is passionate about hospitality and went above and beyond to ensure all of our needs were met. Ambiance Warm, modernized wood paneling with matte black and white accents. Natural and white lighting through the restaurant and museum. Location/Parking There's street parking and a couple of parking lots behind the venue.

Such a beautiful spot in Morgan Hill! Vera is a little bit off the main downtown strip, which I actually love because parking's easier and it's not as hectic. The space itself is gorgeous! modern, stylish, and super inviting. Upstairs there's even an art gallery with some really cool pieces, which makes it feel extra special. The food was amazing! Every dish I ordered was so good. My favorite was the sardine in tomato sauce served with breadsticks, so flavorful and unique. The cocktail menu also looks really interesting, so I'll definitely be back to try more. Our server, Michael, was wonderful, very attentive, professional, yet friendly. He made the whole experience even better. Overall, just a great atmosphere, delicious food, and beautiful space. Can't wait to go back!

Our Mother's Day experience at Vera Restaurant was superb! My daughter and I made a last-minute decision to call and check for lunch availability for two. Fortunately, they had a table for us. Upon our arrival, I was very pleased with the restaurant's ambiance, which featured unique art designs at the entrance. The host, Cristina, welcomed us warmly and guided us to our seats by a large window. We were promptly attended to by both Cristina and Melanie, who provided us with the menu and shared some background about Vera. The dining area was bright, clean, and spacious, and the menu was simple and easy to read. I ordered a glass of Sarah's Vineyard Pinot Noir, while my daughter chose a Winter Four drink. Our meals arrived promptly. I enjoyed the Yuku Salmon Bowl, which was delightful and refreshingly fresh--I cleaned my plate! My daughter had the appetizing Ahi Tuna & Saba Noodle Bowl. We concluded our meal with Profiteroles, which were bite-sized caramelized puff pastries with the perfect amount of sweetness. Complimentary, custom-made flower arrangements were beautifully crafted by Dani, who helped make our dining experience at Vera memorable. I would like to give compliments and a shout-out to Cristina, Melanie, and Dani for their excellent service. Overall, I highly recommend Vera Restaurant as a must-visit eatery. My daughter and I truly enjoyed the peaceful ambiance and, most importantly, the excellent food!

Wow, the food is excellent, with service to match! I came here with my two young daughters, ages 6 and 8, and we had a great time. Every single dish we ordered was cooked to perfection, and they make excellent cocktails too! We ordered a ton of food, and even the leftovers were delicious!!!!!

Awesome place for a girls night or date night. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. We especially enjoyed all the delicious cocktails and mocktails. The roasted chicken was really dry but the flavor was good. We also had the salmon kabobs, once again it was flavorful but some parts of the salmon was really dry. The chopped kale salad and the burrata was our favorite. In terms of the service the bartender was on point. However our server seems to be a little inexperience. There was not much flow from the appetizer to the entrees. Although water was filled quickly, I sat with an empty cocktail for a while. The dessert menu did not have a lot of intriguing items. I'm hoping they add more variety.

    2 oysters w 3 types of sauces

Came here for a Tuesday night dinner with my bf. I'm obsessed with the beautiful building, such a nice upgrade to the DT!! And there is a small art gallery inside, such a cool vibe! For apps we got 2 oysters, which came with 3 types of sauces! To share, we got the Little Gem "Stacked" Salad, it was nice and lite. For dinner, my bf got the seared ahi (I didn't try it, but he said it was good) and I got the lobster roll, this was excellent! It comes with a side of chips and a yummy Cole slaw like salad! I would definitely get this dish again, and it was filling! We didn't stay for dessert, since the place was FREEZING! I asked them to turn down the AC, but I don't think they did. Next time I'm definitely not wearing a tank top and I'll be bringing my jacket with me!! Service was good and staff were friendly! So we will be back again soon!

Absolutely stunning architecture, beautiful displays of local art, and thoughtfully crafted food. I've heard the crab salad roll is phenomenal, comparable to a top-notch lobster roll, so that's on my list for next time! The shrimp and crab cocktail was my favorite- fresh, flavorful, and with just the right kick of spice. One thing I'd love to see is the addition of an espresso and coffee bar. It would be a great option for those looking to stop in for a quick coffee and possibly a homemade pastry. That would be such a cool addition to the downtown scene.

First experience eating here and it was delicious. Started with sharing the burrata and toast points, moved on to a wonderful Little Gem Salad, and finished with a crab roll. A very delicious and satisfying lunch. Also, the staff were very friendly and the facility unique and stunning. Don't miss out on this opportunity.

Burrata must try with extra bread/toast

The ambience is pretty nice, they have nice animal pictures throughout the restaurant. They have indoor and outdoor seating, a full walk up or sit down bar, and TV's. 3 stars. #3. The service was fantastic, glasses constantly being refilled, asked us if we wanted more bread and butter and our server made some great recommendations "5 Stars" The Food: #1. They gave us 2 nice warm bread rolls with a room temperature salted butter cube. The bread at first tasted salty but then my palate caught up and oh snap! this bread was good!! 5 Stars! #2. The server recommended the beef Wellington. "I ordered it med rare, it came to me med rare" it comes with mashed potatoes and longstem broccoli with cherry tomatoes, and a wine/vinegar reduction for the Wellington. The broccoli had a nice crispness to it and were seasoned perfectly, the cherry tomatoes added some brightness. The mashed potatoes were silky smooth and paired perfectly with the Wellington. NOW THE BEEF WELLINGTON: OH MY .....GOSH!!! My eyes rolled back into my head, it was so good!! The beef was as soft as butter, I could have used a butter knife to cut it (not kidding) and it melted in my mouth. The seasoning with the dough and the spinach with the mushrooms inside nearly caused a wet dream (if you get my point) "and don't even get me started on their reduction sauce for the Wellington!" The waiter walked up to me and smiled and said "and I quote"... gives you goosebumps, right? Oh he knew, HE KNEW!! 5++++ Stars! #3. Wifey ordered the Grilled Salmon salad. She ate the Salmon so fast that I barely had a chance to taste it. She said she really liked it, now I did get a chance to taste the salad and I must say that it was so good that it could have been a stand alone dish. Again 5 Stars. #4. And for dessert we had tiramisu. It came plated beautifully with a raspberry, strawberry, blackberry, whipped cream, and a beautiful orchid flower. The flavor while not the best I've had was still pretty darn good 4 Stars. Overall food and dining experience at the restaurant easily hits 5 stars! Total bill for said food - tip $124 pricewise I felt it was well worth it. Oh I will be back!

Positives - have never had a bad meal. The food was good…read more Negatives - The service was very slow and our server seemed like he didn't care very much about being our waiter. He came to our table just after we were seated and before we had a chance to look at anything. Stood there looking annoyed as we scrambled to look at the menu for drinks and appetizers. We very quickly told him we would need a few minutes. The few minutes though turned into 10-15 before he came back to take our order. The appetizer took an extremely long amount of time to get to table. The young man who brought it wasn't our server and did not check to see if we needed anything else. When our waiter eventually came back with our cocktails. He just held them out to the nearest person and made us pass them down the table. Eventually after another long wait, our meals arrived. Server nowhere to be found. By this time our first drinks and waters were empty. Server didn't come by for quite awhile after. Some of our party asked for more drinks and water. We never got more water. Server never came by mid meal to ask how we were doing. If we needed anything else. I would've ordered another drink if I had a shred of confidence that it would've been delivered before I finished my meal. Speaking of the cocktail. YOU DO NOT MUDDLE THE CHERRIES IN AN OLD FASHIONED. It was just a mash of fruit floating around at the bottom of the glass. We finally saw our server again when he came by to ask if we wanted desert. He dropped off the menus and then disappeared for another 10+ minutes. At which point I had to go find him to inform him that we wanted to order dessert since we were celebrating my father's birthday. When the other young man brought our desserts we had to ask for new plates and clean utensils. We again had to ask for more water since it wasn't brought when previously asked for. Our server then eventually showed up for the check. He told us the first card didn't go through. He did not do this quietly or with tact. He came back after the second card didn't go through. We did not get any banking notifications about these and inquired if perhaps their system was the problem. It wasn't until the third card didn't go through that he admitted they were trying to fix the problem on their end. He did not apologize. We've dined at this restaurant multiple times a year for several years. This was by far the worst experience I've ever had here. If you care at all about the service you pay for then I would suggest you avoid this restaurant. Very disappointed. Next time we'll be dining elsewhere.
