Everything I've had here is amazing, but my favorites are the Little Gem stacked salad, the burrata with the toasted bread points, the braised short rib, and you HAVE to get the affogato for dessert! I was so sad when I heard they were closing that I literally went two nights in a row But I just heard they'll still be open on the weekends?! YAY!! Such great food, great atmosphere, and truly one of my favorite spots in Morgan Hill. So happy they're sticking around! read more

Such an amazing place - there is a gallery in front of it, the room has multiple pieces of art, an amazing bar In addition there is a great staff who provides amazing service. The food though is the highlight. The sardine dish is awesome. Spicy arrabbiata, capers, not fishy at all. The spareribs are awesome too. Great wine list and awesome cocktails. We've been here twice. The burrata was gorgeous. A piece of art where the citrus balanced lightly with the depth of figs and balsamic vinaigrette. Bread isn't included, so make sure you also order a side of the toasted bread points. The roasted eggplant sandwich was plentiful and hearty. The Catalan style sautéed prawns were hearty, but spicy just enough. The wine menu was well curated, which I appreciate because it really does have something for everyone. If the weather is hot, you gotta do the crisp and light Chenin Blanc. If you're adventurous, try the Fiano (which isn't a common varietal), and you'll be pleasantly surprised with the fruity undertones. Both paired well with the burrata and the eggplant sandwich. Meanwhile, either of the Pinot Noirs and even the full bodied but not too spicy Syrah were nice complements to the prawns because the dish also had chorizo. It was fun to ask for recommendations and then sample before settling. By doing so, we noticed the wide variety flavor profiles of the foods and the wine pairings, which obviously, makes us want to come back. I mean, we gotta try everything now. read more

Vera has become one of my new fave restaurants in downtown Morgan Hill. The ambience is top notch, the food is fresh and always tasty, and the drinks always have a little razzle dazzle that gives an unexpected pop. Nothing about this place is average. Shoutout to Mike who always provides great service! I was so sad when I hear they will be closing this restaurant at the end of summer. This is a newer trendy restaurant that specializes in seasonal menu items and is tucked behind a small art gallery. It is located on the first floor, so don't make the mistake of going directly upstairs when you first enter. We enjoyed many items off of the winter menu. We started with the Little Gem Salad which was very good. The crisp apples were a nice touch. The Oysters came with 3 phenomenal sauces & vinaigrettes. I enjoyed them so much, that I kept the sauces for my other plates! The yellowtail sashimi was very buttery and melted in my mouth. Great quality. For entrees, my dad enjoyed the other salad on the menu which was the Kale, Grain, & Pomegranate Salad. My mom chose the roasted chicken, which was a huge portion and came with potatoes. We ordered a side of potatoes, but realized there was more than enough provided on her entree. My brother chose the Ahi Tuna Steak. We loved the miso sauce it came with and it had a slight vinegary taste to it. I ended with the Catalan Style Sautéed Prawns, which were delicious and had a nice kick. For dessert, we shared the Espresso Mousse Cups and an Affogato. My dad did not want to share, so he got a single scoop of pistachio gelato. Everything was AMAZING! The service was super friendly. The server was able to make great recommendations and tell us in depth about each item we had questions about. We went for lunch, so it wasn't very busy at all. Food / Drinks Burrata with fig and oranges - $17 The dish is served with balsamic pearls, honey-balsamic vinaigrette, pecans, and basil oil. It was very light, refreshing, and paired well with the toasted bread points. Maine Lobster Roll - $38 The butter toasted top-cut bun served with chilled lobster-salad, lemon, tidewater coleslaw and old bay seasoned potato chips was a shareable-sized plate. The lobster roll was cut in half. The coleslaw did not look appetizing and was a bit dry with minimal dressing - I didn't eat it at all. The chips had a nice kick to it from the light seasoning and wasn't oily. Toasted Bread Points - $8 Lightly toasted sourdough bread slices that was baked to perfection and had a nice chewy texture. Salmon Tartar - $24 The diced ora king salmon was plentiful, served with mandarin, pickled shallot, cucumber, and sweet chili-passion fruit sauce. The dish was a bit too sweet for my liking. Summertime One - $16 The drink was substituted with tequila instead of the chopin vodka. It was accompanied with peach nectar, elderflower, lime, fresh basil, and club soda. Although I didn't try this drink, my friend shared that the tequila was very prominent. Summertime Two - $16 The sereno pepper infused Lalo tequila, fresh watermelon juice, agave, tajin, lime, and black lava salt rim. This drink was sweet, spicy, and super refreshing. Customer Service Mike was the server during my dining experience. He was very attentive, friendly, and provided exceptional customer service. He is passionate about hospitality and went above and beyond to ensure all of our needs were met. Ambiance Warm, modernized wood paneling with matte black and white accents. Such a beautiful spot in Morgan Hill! Vera is a little bit off the main downtown strip, which I actually love because parking's easier and it's not as hectic. The space itself is gorgeous! modern, stylish, and super inviting. Upstairs there's even an art gallery with some really cool pieces, which makes it feel extra special. The food was amazing! Every dish I ordered was so good. My favorite was the sardine in tomato sauce served with breadsticks, so flavorful and unique. The cocktail menu also looks really interesting, so I'll definitely be back to try more. Our server, Michael, was wonderful, very attentive, professional, yet friendly. Our Mother's Day experience at Vera Restaurant was superb! My daughter and I made a last-minute decision to call and check for lunch availability for two. Fortunately, they had a table for us. Upon our arrival, I was very pleased with the restaurant's ambiance, which featured unique art designs at the entrance. The host, Cristina, welcomed us warmly and guided us to our seats by a large window. We were promptly attended to by both Cristina and Melanie, who provided us with the menu and shared some background about Vera. The dining area was bright, clean, and spacious, and the menu was simple and easy to read. I ordered a glass of Sarah's Vineyard Pinot Noir, while my daughter chose a Winter Four drink. Our meals arrived promptly. I enjoyed the Yuku Salmon Bowl, which was delightful and refreshingly fresh--I cleaned my plate! My daughter had the appetizing Ahi Tuna & Saba Noodle Bowl. We concluded our meal with Profiteroles, which were bite-sized caramelized puff pastries with the perfect amount of sweetness. Complimentary, custom-made flower arrangements were beautifully crafted by Dani, who helped make our dining experience at Vera memorable. Awesome place for a girls night or date night. I love the ambiance of the restaurant. We especially enjoyed all the delicious cocktails and mocktails. The roasted chicken was really dry but the flavor was good. We also had the salmon kabobs, once again it was flavorful but some parts of the salmon was really dry. The chopped kale salad and the burrata was our favorite. In terms of the service the bartender was on point. However our server seems to be a little inexperience. There was not much flow from the appetizer to the entrees. Although water was filled quickly, I sat with an empty cocktail for a while. The dessert menu did not have a lot of intriguing items. Came here for a Tuesday night dinner with my bf. I'm obsessed with the beautiful building, such a nice upgrade to the DT!! And there is a small art gallery inside, such a cool vibe! For apps we got 2 oysters, which came with 3 types of sauces! To share, we got the Little Gem "Stacked" Salad, it was nice and lite. For dinner, my bf got the seared ahi (I didn't try it, but he said it was good) and I got the lobster roll, this was excellent! It comes with a side of chips and a yummy Cole slaw like salad! I would definitely get this dish again, and it was filling! We didn't stay for dessert, since the place was FREEZING! I asked them to turn down the AC, but I don't think they did. I came here in early March. Looks like they have the Winter menu still going so looking forward to coming back for the Spring menu. Very nice ambiance and interior, especially with the art gallery. Hopefully they get some shrubbery or decor on the outside of the edge of the restaurant to block out the view of the metal fence in the back, but the setting was great otherwise. The staff and service were great as well. The food was good, but I'd love to see a few more shareable options. Overall, great restaurant and staff. We ordered bib salad with cherry blossom dressing, burrata , peach and figs, crostinis, yellowtail sashimi and lobster roll. We really enjoyed the appetizers and sashimi. The lobster roll had a little bit of a fishy smell which I did not like but I have a pretty sensitive olfactory. I always order lobster roll of its on the menu because I love it so much. Wife and I went on a Wednesday night. 7pm res. Staff was friendly and we had our choice of tables as there were only a handful of people there. She ordered beet salad, I ordered the sardine appetizer. Beet salad really had no seasoning in it was actually bland. It looked great, but they forgot the salt. The sardine appetizers was well executed and I enjoyed it. My wife ordered the short ribs and I ordered the roasted 1/2 chicken. It took what seemed like a rather long time for the food to arrive, especially given that there were a grand total of 11 customers in the restaurant (three seated at the bar just drinking). My wife's food came out first and the waitress dropped it off. The waitress did not give any indication of how long my food would take after hers...it was more than a few minutes. Is my wife supposed to start eating without me? Normally we eat at the same time, but I didn't want her food to get cold. Which there was a good chance of because, for all that waiting, it wasn't very hot. It looked ok, was a bit dry, but overall was edible. Not something anyone would crave. My chicken finally arrived; Now when they say half a chicken I guess they mean four pieces of chicken = one theigh, one leg, a front half of breast and a back half of breast. Potatoes that were not very "roasted" and a sauce. Worst chicken I've ever had in any resterautnt. You'd have a hard time convincing me that it was not a microwave reheat from yesterday. ALL the pieces were dry...even the dark meat which takes some genuine skill to dry out a chicken thigh. We paid our bill. I informed the waitress that the chicken was not good at all, I didn't eat more than a few bites of it. I'd also like to say that it was a strange vibe; play some lively music or any music. If there was music playing, it wasn't at a volume that actually fills the room with a comfortable level of sound. All in all, would not recommend at all. Sorry. I'm not trying to be a jerk, but it just was not good. I go to a fair number of restaurants and I NEVER leave reviews. read more

I've been twice now, great experience both times! First time with the hub for dinner. We had an appetizer and the cocktail specials, then dinner. Great atmosphere for a romantic dinner, good food, the server was great. Then with my girlfriends. What an amazing experience! My friend and I came on a rainy Sunday. Only a few other patrons were there. It's a lovely and unique space, albeit small and cozy with a gallery attached. I ordered the short rib with mashed potatoes and roasted onions and Brussels sprouts. It was delicious! We shared, my friend got the lobster roll with coleslaw and chips.
