I don't think I can adequately express just how much I love this salon! One of the hardest parts about moving to Baltimore from DC was "breaking up" with my long-term stylist there. I tried a couple of salons here, after the move, but nothing clicked until I found Crafted and the wonderful team there. I decided to do something drastic with my hair a couple of months ago and met with Autumn for a consultation. We spent some time together Googling photos and she talked me through the process of going from a dark brown color (from a box!) to a pastel silver (hint: it's not an easy feat!). She explained everything and asked lots of questions and she made sure she understood exactly what I was asking for before we began. So, we started in January and I left the salon with healthy, dark blonde hair and a recommendation for the conditioner and other products she uses herself. Six weeks later I left with charcoal hair and I now have a head full of shiny, healthy silver hair and I couldn't be happier! Autumn is great with color and I'm so lucky I found her. I cannot recommend crafted enough! Their staff is so welcoming and friendly, plus they know their stuff. I've been going to Tiffany specifically for almost a year now and am so glad I found her. They have COVID safety protocols in place, which was reassuring. If you have curly hair you definitely need to get in Samantha Garner's chair. Sam is a gem! She understood exactly what I wanted (remove bulky sections & shape without sacrificing length as I'm trying to grow it out), and she did an amazing job. Great Place!!!! Very friendly and welcoming. So it was 2 days to prom and my daughter needed someone for hair. We got an appointment right away at a desired time. Price was asked and it was reasonable. Reminders for the appt was nice touch it was done by email and text. The day of appt was busy....they were so nice...and my little guy was with us and he was in a mood (8 year old autistic cutie dude) screaming and carrying on. Sigh....but they were so nice did not give us evil looks and just smiled said that there is room in the back .... I told them I was not staying and they said its ok. Awwww.... I left anyway because who wants a screaming child? Came back about an hour later. Daughter looked beautiful!!!!!! Wow! She said they were friendly and chatty. I have curly (3b) hair. It's always a struggle finding someone new to cut it. Went to Sam -- she cut it dry, curl by curl. This was my first time getting this type of cut and it came out great! Sam is super friendly, easy to talk to and she listens. She kept the length but added some great layers -- my hair has so much bounce and shape now. The salon itself is really cute, everyone was very friendly. The location is neat. Love that you can schedule appointments online. People with curly hair--go see Dawn! I have type 3a curly hair and am very careful about who I trust to cut my curls. Most of my haircuts for the last decade have been Ouidad cuts from certified Ouidad stylists. Then I moved to Baltimore, and there's no Ouidad here, so I found Dawn instead (through Yelp recommendations made by other curly girls--thanks!). I've had two cuts by Dawn so far and I plan to keep coming back. She basically uses the Ouidad method anyway, but the price point is way better. She's also super nice, which helps. read more

My awesome stylist was Dawn and I cannot recommend her highly enough. From start to finish, the experience was amazing. She gave me exactly the haircut I wanted with little input from me. Honestly, I don't know how she did it. I usually bring pictures because I don't always know how to articulate the style I want, but after giving her a vague notion of the haircut I wanted she told me she got it. And she did! Dawn is also a delight to talk to. She's super personable and afterwards I felt like I had spent an hour talking to a good friend. My only complaint about the business is that I could not add a tip on my credit card I had to leave without giving a tip because they were closing. However, Dawn was so gracious about it. I can only review the Estetician services and not the hair services. I go to Diane and she is AMAZING! I am an extremely picky person when it comes to finding an Estetician (or any service like that), so when I found her I was ecstatic. At the time I was going through my first acne in my 20's and felt hopeless. I now not only know so much more about my skin, but I am constantly learning more each time I go. Went in specifically to get micro foiling done to bring out my graying hair. I've tried this once before and was not thrilled with the results as it came out all blonde. This place was really great. I worked with Anjelica who took the time to really highlight my hair and make it look super multi dimensional, thus making my gray intentional. She's a super talented colorist and apparently also specializes in perms. I will be coming back for more services. read more

I see Josh, and he is FANTASTIC. I trust him completely when it comes to my hair and he has yet to steer me wrong. I went from a honey blond pixie grow out, to a fantastic multi-colored bob with an under cut and I couldn't be happier. He masterfully blended purple and lavender with a fiery coral that has an amazing longevity. I get complimented on this color and style from the day I have it done until the day I go in for a color touch-up. I have been seeing Darian for a bit over a year and I have nothing but incredible things to say about my experience here. Background: I'm mixed and have a lot of very curly, multi-texture but mostly 3b/c hair. I grew up with a wonderful white momma who was completely overwhelmed by my hair, and have had many a hair dresser literally gasp when I took my hair down from it's pony. "Wow, you really do have a lot of hair" has been said to me my whole life. So you can imagine I've had a lot of really rough hair cuts. I am also fairly skeptical when someone assures me they can cut my hair but have nothing but fear in their eyes. I serendipitously landed in the hands of Darian, and could not be happier. I've now had three cut and color sessions with him and it really isn't a fluke! Each time I've wanted a very different cut, though similar bright purple color and I have never been happier with my curls. Part of that is hopefully because I have more self love but I also think Darian truly listened to what I wanted with my hair each time. He also checked about how I care for my hair to ensure that it would continue to feel good and manageable to me. He communicated back to me in different words what I wanted from each hair cut and how I wanted my color to look to confirm he understood what I wanted. He took his time, and talked me through tips to improve the care of my hair and color which has stood up brilliantly each time. I recently moved to Baltimore from Indiana, and had been dying and cutting my hair by myself for two years (thank you college tuition). I was so stressed out about finding the right hair fit for a decent price. Thankfully, I found Crafted. Experience: After comparing Yelp reviews, I called the salon and scheduled a consultation with Vanessa. This was the best thing to do since I wanted to go platinum from brassy brown. They were super accommodating to my crazy schedule. Vanessa was very nice and helpful, and made sure that I knew going platinum after home-dying my hair with reds and browns would be a process. So I scheduled a double process with her for the next week and couldn't be happier. I'm going back in a month to continue the process. Price: It was hard to find a hair salon that would have excellent results and wouldn't break the bank, especially since I had been stingy with my money in the past. Since I did a horrible job with my color, the price for my visit was realistic. A double process is pricey and takes time. But I got more than what I paid for, and felt comfortable the entire time. It took me some time to gather my thoughts regarding my experience here. I got a devacut about a week ago and it did not go very well. I can say the salon has good customer service. I made an appointment to get a hair cut since I was 3 months post partum and my hair was falling out. I also wanted to have an easy cut that looked nice. I saw Angelica and we talked about what I wanted. I showed her a picture and told her my hair is falling out since I'm 3 months post partum. I also said my son is pulling on my hair so I need a cut that I can still put up in pony tail and advised that my curl texture varies around my head. She understood and made a suggestion to cut shorter layers than the ones from the picture and I mentioned that I've been told by a few stylists I shouldn't do short layers, but she assured me it will be ok. I noticed the cut was short but since it was being cut I assumed the curl pattern was tighter. When she finished I asked if this was long enough to put in a ponytail and she said yes. The cut was much rounder and I had short bangs. I was unsure but I thought that this was a new shape for me and that I needed to sleep on it. My husband and my mom saw me and they didn't want to comment on my new cut, which was not a good sign. I showed my sisters and 2 best friends and instead of saying it looked nice they offered ways to make it fit my face better. In other words, they thought I shared the picture of my cut because I didn't like it and offered ideas to improve it. I sent it just to show off my new cut and that did not make me feel good. I noticed that the hair by the nape of my neck was long and it didn't really go with the round cut. I decided to wash my hair the next day and try to style it again. Well, that didn't go very well. No matter what I did, it made me feel like the top was too round and the back was too long and the cut looked a little choppy. My hair was also too short to put in a ponytail and have to use a lot bobby pins around my head to hold it back. The cut just didn't fit my face. It was too round for my face. I'm too embarrassed to post a picture but my cut looked like the soul glo guy from Coming to America. I called and asked if it can be fixed and was told they can see me the same day. If I may add, they were really nice and so was Angelica. I went in and Angelica listened to my concerns and made suggestions to improve on the cut. She cut my mullet-like back and it was a little better but didn't improve the round shape. She was trying to de-bulk the round shape, but it wasn't going great. She cut some hair on my right side, but after comparing my left side to my right, my right looked choppy and not good and asked her to stop. She did ask a senior stylist to help and he made some suggestions, but I was getting nervous and we didn't proceed much after that. She did suggest to come back again to see the senior stylist. Like I said they were accommodating, but I was not happy with the cut. We had to stop and I left with a choppy right side where it was de-bulked a bit much. I was contemplating seeing the senior stylist but my husband noted that not much can be done at this point because my hair is so short I would need to cut it like a pixie cut and I definitely do not have the face for that. So now I'm pretty depressed because as a new mom I'm already dealing with my emotions and sleep deprivation. As a result it impacts on how I feel about my looks. With this cut I just feel ugly. I can't do much with it. I just wrap it up and try not to look at it. I'm also sad because I had many complications from my delivery and didn't get the opportunity to take professional pictures of my son. So I wanted to have a professional family portrait done, but that's not going to happen. I feel bad for leaving this review because like I said they were very nice and wanted to make me happy, but unfortunately my hair cut is at the point of no return and I just have to wait until I get some length to get a better cut. read more

I came in recently for a hair cut with Randi and left extremely disappointed. The entire appt she was distracted with dealing with customer service with AT&T and kept bragging about how she was going to mess with them after my appt with her. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and got a haircut that looks not even similar to it. I normally am not picky with my hair at all, I kinda just allow the person working to do what they think will be best but I was upset that she barely looked at the photo I brought and was on her phone a lot of the time. There was also a moment when she was blow drying a cow lick I have and she told me she didn't have time to get it to lay down. I had highlights done in the spring of 2018 that still look amazing and natural a year later (I have long hair)! When my hair was originally done it had turned out a little lighter than I intended, but Alex was quick to get me back in and toned my color to the shade I wanted- for free. I see some mixed reviews here, but it looks like none of them are for Dawn--that's probably because she's awesome. Definitely recommend her for you curly girls who want some kickass color. I've also been to a number of other places in Baltimore over the years, and Crafted has good prices for the quality of service you get there. I liked my undercut results, and eventually my partner liked her haircut once it grew more but this place is not up front enough about prices, and in terms of my partner's haircut she has been getting pixie cuts since a kid and knows how to ask for one but the hairdresser did not produce even close to what she wanted. Their colouring skills are pretty fly and Leon does decent undercuts but aside from that you really gotta triple check about the price of the specific hairstylist they hook you up with because some cost more than others and it can be extremely more expensive. My partner paid $70 for a pixie cut that wasn't even close to what she imagined, no colour or styling, just a shampoo and cut. read more

I did a ton of research on having a diva cut done and specifically by Anjelica. I arrived at my appointment and everyone was super friendly. Spoke with Anjelica about exactly what i wanted done with my hair. I have very long curly hair and made it clear that i only wanted to add fullness and a ton of layers. I was adamant about keeping the length of my hair and would only be willing to have about 2 inches off the longest parts of my hair come off as well as i wanted to keep my natural v shape. Anjelica seemed very confident she could do what i wanted. Anjelica explained to me we'd cut wash and style while going over products. After cutting and washing and adding product i finally saw how much of my hair was gone. She cut over 12 inches off of my hair and make the shape of my hair round with basically no layers. My hair looks one length and for anyone who has curly hair knows what a nightmare that is. Although Anjelica has a great friendly demeanor she completely did not listen to what i wanted and i went into my birthday weekend in tears because of this haircut. We never went over any products other only thing i was told was she used devacurl products but i am unaware of what she actually put in my hair nor did she ask me if i wanted to purchase products. She was aware i was completely unhappy with how much hair she took off and just basically said it needed to be done and she felt my hair looked great. For a 100 haircut and someone who is trained in doing this specific cut i was completely disappointed and I'd never trust anyone to cut my hair again. read more

She always takes her time and does a wonderful job. She offers suggestions as to what would work but also makes sure to listen to what I am looking for.
