This place is the absolute best option for plants... and more! Rachel is extremely knowledgeable and always goes above and beyond! I struggle with making decisions and she is so helpful and gives great recommendations! I love my new plants! I have been coming here for years and will continue to do so! Thanks Rachel!

This place was great!! Rachel is so cool and this business is a store and workshop and it is super magical. Lots of amazing rare plants and crafts. My partner and I came for the moss art class and we really enjoyed it and left with our beautiful art. The materials we used in the class were very high end and there was so much to choose from. I highly recommend and plan to come back.

Beth is the best! Super friendly, helpful and just overall a kind person! Came in looking for a plant and left with a plant and so much knowledge. They even offer work shops here as well. A must stop if you're a plant lover. They sell all kinds of smaller plants, both indoor and out. You'll be sure to leave with some plantspiration too!

Came here last night for my birthday week celebrations with a friend and we had the most wonderful time. Rachel was so knowledgeable and helpful but also encouraged each of us to express ourselves in each unique piece of art. There were so many types of mosses and natural materials to bring your ideas to life. The flower, mushroom, and shell collections really added a nice variety. I wouldn't hesitate to take another workshop here. Thanks so much

Such a lovely space. The staff/owner were knowledgeable, super friendly and fun. Love my purchases. Appreciated the great selection and the way it was all displayed. Visited from out of town. Will hit this place up every time I'm in the area (which will be more often now because I can't wait to return).

This place is so cute! A little on the expensive side, but they have a lot of things that are not so regular degular shmegular

Such a cute little shop! The ambiance has a bohemian vibe. Full of great little finds. I bought a few plants, pots, etc. Rachel the owner is awesome. I bought a plant hanger and she gave me a little ceiling hook. She also gave me a little bag of rocks to fill my plant pot. So personable and nice. It's really the small details that make a great shop experience. Will definitely be coming back.

It also has its own parking lot that is exclusively for the nursery. The coffee shop, Selva, has no parking, and you must park in the street if you are only stopping for coffee. Walking in, you are greeted by fresh filtered air (thanks, plantitas) and music that includes the hottest hits. In the main part of the nursery, there is a huge disco ball that gives the place a groovy vibe while shopping. They also have many pots, soils, gardening tools, nutrients, and lots of other accessories to keep your plants cute and healthy. The plants are the typical price that is normal in San Diego, which is a little pricier than other areas. It could be hit or miss with the customer service, but overall, this is one of my favorite places in San Diego. It is so serene and fresh that I love coming here to clear my mind. Stop by if you are ever in the neighborhood.

There's so much to see, so bring a hat, sunglasses, sunscreen, and comfy shoes since the ground can be uneven. You'll encounter steps, slopes, and some dirt paths. The parking lot is small and fills up fast, so I like to get there early, especially if I'm doing a big plant haul. It can be tricky loading plants when you're parked far away. What doesn't this place have? There's an onsite bar and grill that's dog‑friendly, has live music, and serves brunch on weekends. There's also a cute boutique flower/gift shop with curated items perfect for any plant lover. They offer free local classes to help educate the community -- I've taken the shrub class, but they have tons of gardening‑related workshops. They have chickens, birds, turtles, and more. They care for and rescue animals, which is amazing. They sell compost, and they have every plant you can imagine, plus a large selection of seeds, pots, tools, beekeeping supplies, and canning equipment. I love that this is a neighborhood, locally owned nursery that truly gives back. They do so much to educate the community and promote sustainability. Please support them and get your next plant baby here. A perfect place for kids and pups!

We've always loved the vibe and selection here, but working with Jason completely changed the game for us. It's one thing to have an amazing green thumb (which he absolutely does), but Jason has a rare, uniquely brilliant talent for exterior design. We came in with a few scattered ideas for our backyard, and he instantly mapped out a cohesive, stunning visual plan that we never could have dreamed up on our own. What we appreciated most was his sheer passion. He didn't just point us toward the right aisles; he genuinely cared about the long-term success of our project. Redoing a yard is a massive investment, but Jason's expertise and enthusiasm made us feel completely confident in the decisions and investments we were making. We are so incredibly grateful for Jason and how fantastic he has been to work with. He turned what could have been an overwhelming project into an absolute joy. If you are heading to Moon Valley Nurseries, do yourself a favor and ask for Jason... he is an absolute rockstar!

NORTH PARK NURSERY @ NORTH PARK…read more Parking is available on the street for free, and there's also neighborhood parking across the street, which I definitely recommend. I came to this event for Sip & Swap, where you bring your own plant and swap it with others. I loved the idea and had never been to North Park Nursery before, so I was excited to visit for the first time. The space itself is huge, with plants everywhere, from the left side to the back to the right side. They also have stickers, cards, and all sorts of plant-related items. All the plants looked really healthy, and there's a wide variety to choose from. The event even had drinks, like an agave drink, which was free. The vibe was great, and there's outdoor seating where you can relax and admire the plants. Prices range from about $20 to $70, depending on the type and size of the plant. I especially loved the section in the back called "plants that need extra love." These plants are 50% off, perfect if you want to rejuvenate a slightly struggling plant, and they even come with a vase, so you can care for it on your own schedule. They also have pet-friendly plants, which is great if you have dogs, cats, or other animals at home. Overall, I really loved this place. If you're a plant person, I would definitely stop by if you're in the North Park area.
