Best plant shop in San Diego. The owner is very knowledgeable about plants and is very helpful with any questions you may have (ie watering, lighting, potting, soil choices, etc). The plants, pots, and other decorations are all very reasonably priced, which is a huge plus (and surprising, given the Little Italy location)! I love coming here to get my family members (and myself) gifts, and she's even helped me repot my own plants when I've needed to upsize and came to her for a new pot. 100/10 recommend read more

I prefer to shop for plants in little neighborhood stores like this instead of your Armstrongs or Home Depots. They had a great selection of interesting and rare plants and it was hard not to swoop every one of them up. Prices were reasonable given the unique varietals. For a time, they were also temporarily housing James Coffee, which was nice to enjoy a cup of coffee and plants. James Coffee is now back in their usual space across the street, so their back room is re-open again. They have moss workshops and kokedama building, which is so cool! read more

Such an incredible spot!!!! The owners are soo kind and lovely, and the selection of plants are also great for it being a smaller plant store. They price their plants and goodies pretty fairly also, which is refreshing for a spot in little Italy. Went here for a moss art workshop for a mom-daughter date and it was SO FUN!! We just happened to stumble upon the shop on a casual walk around downtown. We're so glad we did, because it's the most adorable moss forest. We made soon made a rsvp and came back for a moss workshop :) Rachel taught our 4 person workshop and gave everyone lots of 1-1 attention. Despite it being a hectic day, she was incredibly welcoming, patient, and knowledgable! Her enthusiasm is infectious and truly made for the best workshop experience. I love this place! Rachel (the owner) is an absolutely creative genius with an incredible kind heart. I came in last week in a panic that my future in laws were coming over for the first time and I needed some amazing pieces to decorate our new home. I showed Rachel a picture of my living room and the coffee table I wanted to get a piece for. She then spent an hour thinking and designing a center piece for my coffee table based of my spacr and taste. To top it off she only wanted to charge me $50 for it. I know very well that a piece like that would cost at least double the price so I had to offer her more and she was incredibly grateful. The funny thing is that I was originally going to just go to HomeGoods and get something generic but I couldn't be happier that I first came to Rachel. Wow. It's worth a special visit here just to be able to experience the elegant, fresh art-deco vibe. I definitely want to incorporate some of this aesthetic into my decorating scheme!! It's a tiny, quasi-cute, kitschy, plant store connected to an equally demure but adorable women's clothing boutique. Nothing special or new here, and the prices are about average. This shop will suffice if you are very new to plants or you just want to go somewhere within walking distance, since the plants appear to be healthy and well-cared for overall. There are very few pots and no gardening implements available, but that's not really the vibe of the shop, and it's not a dealbreaker for me. However, there are much better run and stocked plant shops and nurseries with considerably better plant and potting selections just a few miles away, so I am unlikely to return here. Why the low rating for an otherwise average shop? While I was greeted when I came in, I received no assistance while shopping for almost 20 minutes because the person working the cash register was chatting with another lady who seemed to be a personal acquaintance. There was also a small, wire-haired, orange-colored dog that appeared to belong to the saleswoman that was allowed to walk around off-leash with sidewalk access. I love dogs--a lot--but this little one had some stunningly bad behavioral problems that put the public and shop patrons at risk. The concerning behaviors included running up and scream-barking in the face of a well-mannered, ON-LEASH, pitt bull. The shop worker hurried over, pulled the little doggo away, and gave a lame apology to the dog owner before saying under her breath, "You don't want to fight with THAT dog." Uhm, what? That large, non-aggressive dog that the owner was *LEGALLY* walking on-leash was not the instigator nor was she reactive. In the short timeframe I was watching this unmonitored, free-range, poorly trained pooch wander around, I also observed him lunge and try to bite the hand of another female customer without warning after s/he approached her with a wagging tail. I love shops that have animals in the workplace, but get a clue, not every dog is suitable for a free-range atmosphere. read more

I love this shop! Just walking in makes me smile. The plants are all beautiful and very well loved/maintained. There is a good variety of plants and they are all very reasonably priced.
