Car was in and out in a very short time. The work they did on my Escalade was perfect.

I was rear-ended on April 24th 2015, and on the following Monday, April 27th, Allstate (my insurer) gave me the option of either getting a traditional adjustment and finding my own repair shop, or using Craftsman Auto Body which is an Allstate-approved business that does both the adjustment and the repair. I opted for Craftsman, despite seeing a negative review on Yelp from 2012. I made the right decision. This place did a great job. First of all, Lupita in the front office, contacted us immediately after hearing from Allstate rather than waiting for us to call them...very proactive. She was professional and answered all our questions thoroughly. Once the car arrived (via tow that Allstate arranged separately with another company), we received an email stating the car had arrived and that we'd be hearing the estimate soon. Just hours later, we got a written estimate via email, plus Nick--the adjuster/manager--called on the phone to talk about the damage, the repair, and the timeline. I find it rare these days to find businesses that take such care to proactively communicate with customers, and I really appreciated it. The repairs to the car were all done within a week--and there was extensive damage and repainting required. I cannot tell there was any damage. The car looks great and drives perfectly. They also washed it, which was nice. The charges were very reasonable. I would definitely go back to this business even if it were not for an Allstate-covered repair issue. Highest marks! Oh--there is a sign out front that they are in process of changing the business's name from Craftsman to something else. I can't remember the new name, but for now both are on the sign. read more

I was in a car accident December 2nd. Went to Craftsman auto body for estimate on the 19th. Though I didn't receive a copy of the estimate until January 5th it was sent over to the insurance company of the lady who hit me. I wasn't happy about it being three weeks later but once I got the estimate things moved really quickly! I sent up to drop my car off Tuesday January 13th at 7am. My husband took it over and once he got there they called Enterprise to pick him up. He was in and out of the office in 15 minutes and on his way to work in the rental. It went so smoothly. Nick who was overseeing the repairs emailed me as things came up as well as when the car would be done. I got my car back Wednesday evening and the work was beautiful! I was very happy with the quick service, the work done to my car and how friendly the staff were. Lupita and Nick took care and communicate with me through each step of the process. I was involved in a small fender bender, the party at fault. Their insurance sent me to Craftsman Auto Body to do the work. Dropped it off on a Thursday morning and got a call the following Tuesday afternoon saying it was ready. (Over Memorial Day Weekend). Picked my Jeep up on Wednesday and work looks great. They even vacuumed the interior and I left with an almost New Car Smell. read more

If I could provide a rating of less than 1 star I would, this shop is unprofessional, incompetent, and lazy. At first it appeared Pam the service writer was thorough in informing me of my vehicle repairs after being hit by another vehicle. She called everyday until she said it was ready a week later, which in fact, the repair was questionable at best, damage was simply painted over and not corrected. The follow-up immediately stopped after having to repair the initial repairs and the customer service became rudeness and almost non-existent. This was my second experience with Craftsman in Manassas, as I gave them the benefit of the doubt. My first experience resulted in having to return tools left in my engine bay following a repair which also took two times to correct. STAY AWAY. read more

I've used Craftsman in Gainesville the first time my wife's 2004 Explorer was hit by another driver. They did such an excellent job I was recommending them to friends, but afterthe Explorer ran off th road due to a deer jumping out in front of her, her reaction was to try and avoid hitting the animal and accidently went into a ditch on the side of Route 601 which is very narrow in sections from Route 15 to The Plains. I had the car towed by AAA to Craftsman Gainesville loction only to find out that they were booked up and had to send the car to their Manassas shop. I did receive updates form the shop on the progress of the work and a confirmation that it was sent back to Gainesville and ready to pick up. Being my office is about 1.5 miles from the Gainesville location, I received a ride from our warehouse assistant manager. After getting car out and down Wellington Rd. back towards my office, I noticed the steering wheel was off center, and car pulling to right side with hands lifted off wheel. After packing it back at my office it was visible the the front wheel and Back wheel looked out of line. The invoice showed they took it to Battlefield Ford for alinment but it appears as if no one at all test drove it like claimed on statement. It really would have been obvious that the steering wheel was turned left while driving straight. My wife and I returned to car thais past Saturday and refused to accept it in the condition it was so called repaired. I will say the body looks good but the new running board still had soap film on it as it was rushed cleaned. Now thery are sending it back to a auto shop in Gainesville for alinment???? I can only say it appears the veteran body mechanics have been replaced by Lincoln Tech. and High School shop trained mechainics. What once was a shop high on my list, has taken a nose dive. This shop performed an excellent repair on my daughter's car under some really unusual circumstances. We live in the San Francisco Bay area of California and our daughter is a student at Virginia Tech in Blacksburg, VA. While returning to school late at night after a weekend in the DC area, a deer jumped out in front of her car on Interstate 66 near Manassas, causing sufficient damage to make the car undrivable. The car was towed to an impound yard and stored overnight with the requirement that it be removed before the close of business the following day. Since we live 3000 miles from the accident site and our daughter's school is 200 miles away, we contacted our insurance company to get a list of recommended repair facilities near where the car was stored and chose Craftsman Auto Body more or less at random from the list. I contacted them from California and arranged for the required paperwork to be faxed to me for my signature and they had the car picked up and towed to their shop by mid-afternoon. I had a detailed estimate by the next day and authorized the work, again by long-distance. The repairs were completed quickly (a week sooner than estimated) and professionally, with daily phone updates on progress. When the car was finished, Craftsman offered to hold the car in their storage lot indefinitely, with no storage charge, to give us time to make the long-distance arrangements to have the car picked up. Our daughter said that when she got the car back, not only was the damage completely repaired but the car was fully detailed inside and out and "looked and smelled like a brand new car". I'm EXTREMELY pleased with both the quality of the work and the consideration given to both ourselves and our daughter in handling the unusual logistics of the situation. Obviously, there's very little chance that we'll ever be repeat customers but the service we received from Craftsman Auto Body couldn't have been better. read more

Well, I read the previous review from Tami and I'm sorry she had such a bad experience. I did not. In fact, I was thoroughly impressed with this shop...especially the services of Pam, one of the managers. Anytime you're in an accident, it's one problem after another and it always turns out to be a huge headache. I had been on the way to work one morning and my car was drilled in the side by a huge deer. ($3,000 damages as a result). Anyway, from my first contact with Pam, I found her to be very helpful, professional and efficient. The only problems and headaches I really experienced, were with my own insurance company, NOT Craftsman. Once I left my car with Craftsman, I received constant updates from her by phone messages informing me about what stage my vehicle was at such as, "parts are ordered, received"/being painted, etc..." My car was even ready in less time than the original time estimate I was given. I was even able to drop the Enterprise Rental car off at Craftsman so I could take possession of my car. I don't write reviews for anything but I told my wife on the way to pick up the car, that if their finished work was anything like their service, I was going to write a positive review since I didn't want the only one on YELP to be a negative one from a previous customer. Bottom line...my car looks great! I was blown away by the quality of the workmanship...it really looks fantastic. And the fellow that checked us out that Saturday morning could not have been a more friendly, nice guy. Great shop, great work, great people! I highly recommend this place. read more

Terrible! I was involved in an auto accident and the other party took full responsibility for fault. The insurance company directed me to this shop for repairs, indicating that it was a shop they work with a lot. I left my car there to have the rear bumper replaced and I was able to get a rental car from a nearby Enterprise. I left it the Tuesday before Thanksgiving. The following day I called to check on my car and they told me it was going to be done that day and that I had to pick it up that evening before they closed. The woman then went on to tell me that the insurance company would not pay for the rental any longer since my car was done. At 6:30 that evening, after work, I arrived to get my car. They demanded that I pay my deductible before I even saw my car (even though the deductible was to have been waived as the other driver's insurance would be paying it). Against my better judgment, I paid. I was then led down a back staircase to the shop to see my car. There were 5 mechanics sitting around listening to music and smoking cigarettes making for a rather uncomfortable scenario. I was instructed to back my car out of the repair bay and upon doing so a very loud metal on metal grinding noise was heard both inside and outside the car. This noise had not been present when I left my car the previous day. One of the mechanics stood nearby watching and I told him that I thought something was not right. He went in to get another mechanic to listen to the noise. I backed the car further out of the bay and the same noise was present. I asked the second mechanic if he heard it and he relied that he hadn't heard anything as he was deaf. Really? They got someone to listen to the noise that was deaf?! By this time it was 7:15pm the night before Thanksgiving and I had had enough. I refused to take the car, told them to fix it properly and to call me when it had been completed. After all, when one is involved in an auto accident and getting their car fixed, all anyone wants is for their car to be like it was before the accident. Nothing more and nothing less. It should not be a major ordeal to accomplish this, especially if it was just a bumper. They were closed until the Monday after Thanksgiving. I called midday on that day to check on the status of my car and was told they had fixed it the previous week and there was nothing more to do, that I should have taken the car the previous Wednesday and they had notified the insurance company of this so the rental car that I had would not be covered from the previous Wednesday to that day (Monday). I was told that all accident related work was finished and I would have to pay for an inspection to isolate the problem noise. I argued the point that no the noise was not accident related, but human error related. The office worker, Pam was beyond rude! The entire conversation, she attempted to "bully" me into accepting my car when it was obvious that something had happened to it while there at their shop. My insurance company had to intervene, on my behalf, and the agent instructed the mechanic on what might be wrong and how to correct it. I was told that when I went to get my car that evening, if it was still making the noise that I should not accept it. Upon my arrival to the shop that evening, I asked for my $200 deductible to be credited back to my credit card since she had me pay when I was not to have been charged the deductible and it would be included in their final payment from the insurance company. She refused saying that the bookkeeper didn't like to give credits and I would just have to take it up with the insurance company. Really? Why did she have to be so darned rude is beyond me. No customer service skills at all! Then she asked who the insurance companies were. At that point I saw red. She had already contacted the insurance company to say that I refused to take possession of my car after all work had been completed, so she knew full well who they were. I test drove my car, found the noise had been taken care of and then I left. I will never suggest that anyone utilize the services of Craftsman Auto Body in Manassas. They are ill prepared to do proper repair work and the staff is very rude and attempts to bully customers with veiled threats. I would advise anyone to go elsewhere. read more

I don't know what kind of business this place is running, but i STRONGLY URGE YOU ALL TO GO ELSEWHERE!!!! My car had minor damage that should have taken no more than a day to fix. Three days later when i get the car back, the side the damage was on was noticeably different then the opposite side, seeming like they did the bare minimum to make it look passable. After i confronted them about it, i was told that they did everything they could and that it wasnt their work that was wrong, it was the other original non-damaged side that was off.. When i got in the car, there was cigarette ash everywhere and a pack of cigarettes sitting on the front seat. After i refused to take the car, they said that they would not be making anymore repairs on it and would charge me for every day that it sits there. The customer service woman says one thing while the manager says another. DO NOT USE CRAFTSMAN AUTO BODY OF MANASSAS!! They only care about the quality of the money, not the quality of the work. I've heard so many bad stories about this place, my only regret is that I didnt heart about them before I took my car there to be repaired. read more

WOW! I was blown away by this whole experience! I got into a pretty bad car accident last month and i was dreading the whole process of getting my car fixed. I've heard all the horror stories about repair shops from the internet, needless to say it was a daunting scenario for me. From the moment i walked in the door and was greeted I knew this time i didn't need to be so worried. The staff was exceptional in walking me through the repair process and what it would take to fix my car. They also gave me a completion date and called me every day to make sure i stayed updated on my vehicle. They actually finished the car FASTER than what the estimate indicated, which was AWESOME! They set me up with a rental car and the best part about it was that i could just leave the rental car at Craftsman Auto Body when my car was completed, which made my wife extremely happy because she didn't have to drive me to the repair shop when my car was completed. And the quality was AMAZING! I had my doubts about how the work would turn out because of the extent of the collision but sure enough, my baby looked brand new. The paint matched perfectly and looked like glass! All i can say is that there must be something wrong with the bad reviews about this place because i was treated like a V.I.P. the entire time i was dealing with Craftsman and i would recommend them to anyone who wants exceptional work ALONG with phenomenal service. (and the lifetime warranty on the paint is what really made it worth while) read more
