If you're staying in Edwards or just passing through, you've gotta stop at Craftsman. The new, larger location offers ample seating and a fun restaurant / brewery ambiance. At the time of this review, it was right around the holidays and they were pretty packed. They take reservations but we weren't able to get one in time. Even though all the tables were full, we still were able to grab seating over by the bar. Everything I've ever had here is great. Their tomato soup is my absolute favorite. It's hearty, yet smooth; a little bit of spice and chunks of tomato. It's $12 for a bowl or if you want to enjoy it with something else, you can add a cup with your sandwich or burger for $4. (I wish they would have it as an add on to any part of the menu) I tried the queso for the first time. It comes with fresh, crunchy tostadas and the queso is rich and flavorful. If you add the pork, this could be a meal on its own. It's a small portion but very filling. At the very least, a great bar snack. I also tried the Schmidt Mac. What a great burger! It tastes like the kind of burger you'd get from one of those old timey burger joints. Two well seasoned patties cooked perfectly to almost melt in your mouth. A lightly toasted bun, some veggies to add some crunch and a thousand island sauce ties it all together. read more

Amazing bar and grill tucked away in Edwards. We went with a large group and were seated fairly quickly at 2 tables close together. We highly recommend the hot honey chicken and the ahi poke bowl. I went to Craftsman Brew during their happy hour on a Sunday afternoon. Upon arrival we were greeted and sat at a table immediately. The restaurant was clean and a great vibe! Their happy hour menu was short and sweet, but we were told that upfront. We ordered the wings, Brussel sprouts, and the burger on the happy hour menu. The brussel sprouts weren't what I expected, but in a good way! They had a bit of tang to the sauce and also included green apples. I swear, I'll try to homemake this recipe myself! The wings were delicious! The burger was a smash burger. The bun was also smashed, so the presentation looked a bit odd for the burger. However, the burger was juicy, and seasoned well. We also ordered the old fashioned. Classic and perfect for a happy hour! If I take this road trip again, I would definitely stop by again! We ate here twice in the past week and I wish I could give 3.5 rating but gave a 3 as it isn't quite a 4. The Schmidt burger and parm fries were great. The steak, the service and the music was not great. The hostess was nice but the 2 waiters we had were unhappy people or just rude towards out-of-towners. The older male waiter literally threw a straw at me when I asked for one even though I had my hand out and extended to take it! They play really loud 90s grunge music but the lunch clientele seemed to be mainly families or older couples...just didn't match but we all sat there and ate anyway. It's also not ideal the restroom door faces 3 tables. So people at those tables are eating facing and can see the toilet as guests enter and exit the restroom. Excited by the online menu, but disappointed by the actual experience and food. Visited 1:30 p.m. 6/25/25. Would not return due to a combination of mediocre-to-poor quality, poor waitstaff, and high price for value delivered. 1. Service on the patio was slow--extremely casual server. 2. Ordered 2 sandwiches, 1 fries, 2 soft drinks: paid $75. ASTONISHED to find a 5% surcharge on our e-receipt following the meal. Why???? This total included tip; had I been paying (instead of my husband), I would have limited tip to 10%. Poor service. 3. Fries had been cooked in the morning, perhaps even the night before. Looked perfect... but in the mouth, 100% dry all the way through. Like pix-six that you get in a can. This happens in high altitude when fries are pre-cooked, and any residual moisture evaporates over time, producing a fry that is dry all the way through. I ordered the up-charge parmesan fries; they were not just not hot; they were downright cold. The parmesan cheese on top was perfectly unmelted--not possible had the fries been fresh. I asked for fresh fries...and 30 minutes later, they had still not been delivered. When the server finally returned to the table and I asked about where my fresh fries were, she feigned surprise and apologized for "forgetting." She told me that every fry order is cooked to order, and that the parmesan sprinkle must have cooled the fries prematurely--anyone who cooks will laugh at this. I had to ask that the charge for fries be removed; server did not offer this option first. 4. Meals were delivered before our two soft drinks. We had to remind the server about our drinks. Further, the drinks were never refreshed during the meal; server offered a refill only when we requested our check. 5. Sandwiches were okay. Not bad...but not great. And certainly not worth the $22 for the cheese steak sandwich (before adding $5 more for fries, not to mention the surcharge). I asked for my banh mi to arrive with liver pate on the side, which was accommodated, but I was disappointed by the non-chewy roll (a staple of banh mi) and soggy bottom (usually alleviated by the chewy baguette). 6. Folks, we are 'way past COVID. No "hidden" surcharges are necessary--and in fact, they are dishonest. No mention that we saw NO MENTION on the menu of surcharges. This is just plain deceptive. 7. Interior of restaurant was so cold that we immediately asked for outdoor seating. A family, initially seated inside, soon followed us, with the mom questioning the kids, "Is this better? It's not so cold out here!" By the way, if you can manage to eat on the patio, it is lovely. read more

Fantastic food found at Craftsman! This establishment has moved slightly from its original location, but is still in the same general area of Edwards Riverwalk Roundabout. It was easy to find and there is plenty of parking in the plaza. I enjoyed grabbing food here for lunch recently when I was visiting the area, and tried the Oven Roasted Tomato Soup, Hot Chicken Sandwich, and the Schmidt Mac. Everything was flavorful and hit the spot after I had a morning hike. The food was really good and inventive! The menu had a nice variety and was priced as you would expect for being close to a ski town. Service was ok until we needed the check. Our table had been cleared and we were trying to flag down our waiter to ask for the check, but he was busy attending to other tables. We were able to get the attention of the manager on duty, who came over and made some rude remark to us because we were gesturing for the check. He gave us the mobile POS device so that we could be on our way, however we could have done without the nasty attitude. I have never encountered something like this coming from a "manager". I'm not expecting a manager to make small talk with the table, but being rude and having an attitude towards customers is inexcusable. It doesn't matter how great the food is - customer service is what people remember! There are plenty of other places in town for locals and visitors alike to spend money for a tasty lunch or dinner, a manager with a bad attitude will never fly in my opinion. I'm a fan of the food here at Craftsman, and it was some of the best tasting food I had while visiting, but the customer service needs to match the excellence of the food. Another thing to keep in mind is that on the menu it mentions a 5% surcharge will be added to all checks to support the staff, and you can let the staff know if you would like it removed, something to be aware of when it comes to calculating the tip. At first glance, you might confuse Crafstman with a growing list of hipster hangouts (you know what I'm talking about--where the staff and the customers wear wool knit caps in the summer when it's 100 degrees). Although hipster it is, the confusion stops there. Craftsman prices all a menu needs is few inventive sandwiches is all you really red. I have two "goto" sandies at this Edwards hot spot. While there are 10 sandies on the menu, I'd prefer a couple more options though, honestly. Nice selection of small plates and beers-and a caring, competent staff round out the sandwich place on the roundabout. Another "wish" would be a more-than-half-hearted attempt at coffee service. Seems like Craftsman is missing an Espresso machine-at least I'd love a nice Americano or latte with my Schmidt Mac or Philly Chile Philly. Craftsman gets five stars from me, but if I had to nit pick, I'd say the nit that requires picking is Craftsman's (and to be fair, other hipster sandwich and coffee shops) follow a disturbing trend of offering me all manners of deliciously decadent foods that will kill me, but REFUSE to offer granulated sugar or Splenda (or Coke, for that matter, but don't get me started). Wow! We never ever give five stars. So assume that this place was one of the best restaurants we've ever been to. Coming up to the mountains, we always expect mediocre food, "mountain time" service (extra slow) and great beer. This place has the best food we've had (even across major metropolitan cities), fast and efficient service and great beer. You pick up a menu at the front and find a seat (many community tables). Order from the bar when you're ready. My husband ordered the French dip and I got the bahn mi based on reviews here on yelp. Neither disappointed. The portions were huge - recommend splitting if you can agree on something. We got kids meals (cheeseburger and grilled cheese) which were just okay. But they didn't care. We got two amazing beers - Outer Range DDH IPA and Two Roads Too Fruity IPA. Both were exactly what we wanted. Finally you need to save room for the Brown Butter Chocolate Chip cookies. They come in sets of two and one is plenty per person. The ambience is new and clean and farmhouse-like and we never waited more than a minute for anything we asked for.
