Tomahawk, Brussel Sprouts, and Baked Potato
    Nicholas K.

3.5: To be located inside such luxurious hotel with amazing view outside, you expect excellent experience on the night of your vacation. Positives: Bison(?) Tomahawk was unexpectedly soft and tender with good amounts of fat. The use of roasted whole black garlic was an excellent choice. It enhances the flavor more with crispy brussel sprouts. You may start to feel heavy with such use of oil, but the spicyness of the chili inside the brussel sprouts and baked potato kicks it away gently. I recommend the 3 plates ordered together. Upgrades: You are greeted by a server with such strong cologne that erases your appetite everytime he passes by. Also, to be mentioned in the signature menu, it is almost rude to throw a bag of Fritos chip on a plate. As simple as dumping the chips next to the plate has more finesse.

Excellent pretzel & veal schnitzel! We were staying up at Bear Paw and came over to Ritz for our final night.

The kind of quality, and pricing, that you would expect from a Ritz Carlton restaurant. I was unsure of ordering the poke, it was $26, but my husband told me to go with it. I'm glad I did! The poke was tender it melted in my mouth. It was really spicy but I handled the heat like a pro. Overall great service, great food. Can't give it the 5th star because I don't believe my poke, wine and tip was a $50+ meal.

Really enjoyed the ambiance. The social distancing made me feel safe. I did not post pic of nachos but they were amazing!!! And the burger was also excellent.

Mountain double patty burger was the best burger I've had in a while. Service was phenomenal and their ranch dressing was great.

The Ritz is just medicore for food and beverage. Low touch service and high prices. I wish it was better I have a house nearby.

We walked in and it appeared to be a quiet night, we could see the bar was pretty empty. The hostess asked if we were staying at the hotel and we said no, we were dropping by for cocktails and wished to sit outside. She told us we could sit inside at a couch area by the entrance. One of our friends walked through the bar and noticed the fire pit seating areas were available and asked a server if we could sit there instead. She looked at us and said she would have to ask the hostess if any were available. Clearly they were and they didn't want our group sitting there for some reason. The bar was practically empty so not sure what the issue would be, perhaps it was because we were not hotel guests. After not getting back to us we just sat ourselves outside. Our server was Nivas. Nivas was not overly friendly but she was attentive. We ordered a couple rounds of cocktails. They were pricy but good. The fire pit tables are very nice. If you can sit outside at a fire pit I would recommend doing so.

Such a relaxing but chic spot to enjoy a meal after being out in the mountains. Our waitress was not overbearing and gave us enough time between bites to take it all in. She also made sure we got the full experience with the hot chocolate to marvel at its glory! The food was excellent, but the butternut squash soup was truly outstanding. It had a beautiful natural sweetness with a subtle hint of apple that made the flavor feel layered and comforting, and the pepitas added the perfect little crunch. It was one of those dishes you keep thinking about after you leave. We also ordered the hummus, which tasted incredibly fresh and crisp, light, bright, and perfectly refreshing alongside the richer dishes. But the real star of the experience was the hot chocolate. It was absolutely decadent and comforting, easily one of the best cups of hot chocolate I've ever had. Rich, smooth, and the perfect treat in a snowy Vail setting. Overall, Remedy Bar delivers a beautiful atmosphere, delicious food, and a cozy mountain-luxury experience. I would absolutely recommend stopping in if you're visiting Vail.

Dinner reservations are available 30 days out on Open Table, and they go instantly. I heard them quote 2+ hours for walk-ins, so definitely plan ahead if you can! Cocktails: I've always loved their cocktails, so even if you don't have dinner here, you should at least check out the bar. I've never been disappointed in any drink I've gotten. Dinner: - Butternut baba ganoush: all the flavors of baba ganoush but with butternut squash, and the warm pita was great - Fire roasted tomato and chorizo soup: a bit on the thinner side, smoky, interesting - Buttermilk sea salt biscuit: rich, flaky, with extra butter, country ham, and red pepper jelly - Warm pimento cheese: I don't usually care for pimento, but their's is great with grilled bread. They also use this on their burger at lunch - Wood grilled octopus: nice wood fire flavor, great ham hock beans underneath, grilled avocado - Crispy brussels sprouts: interesting flavor with the grilled avocado sikil pak - Wood fired pork chop: tender, generously sized - Grilled cobia: wonderful warming pineapple coconut curry, charred pineapple, and fresnos for a kick - Seafood diavolo: very flavorful (my dad found it too salty), served over polenta Lunch items: - Fresh catch: Argentenian shrimp and polenta - like shrimp and grits, very flavorful - Grilled cheese and soup: always a good combo - Burger: we added the onion rings, which had a good kick to them They also had a really solid kids' menu, which I appreciate. Despite how busy they are, service is attentive, and the manager came by personally to check in, which was a nice touch. Food and drink pacing was also good despite it being packed. Other employees helped with service, including clearing plates and inquiring if we needed anything. The restaurant is definitely number one at customer service and I loved how everyone worked together. Even though the restaurant was busy, we did not feel lost in the shuffle. It was clean and inviting. They offered an array of choices, so there would be something for everyone if you decide to dine here. The food was good, preparation and display were done carefully, but the taste was overall just ok. The appetizers we chose were Warm Pimento Cheese, which was mildly flavorful, but good, and Prime Beef Carne Apache, which had no flavor at all. The main courses we chose included a pork dish and a chicken dish. The chicken had great flavor, but was placed on a bed of potato wedges which were not all completely cooked through. We felt this took away from the overall dish. The accompanied sauce made with yogurt and poppyseed did not add any flavor to the dish. The pork dish had great flavor. The drinks accompanying the food were made well and tasty. The kids menu has an array of choices as well, and our choice of macaroni and cheese was a hit! We ended with a frozen snicker bar dessert that tasted exactly like a frozen snickers bar. Overall, we had a very nice evening and would definitely visit again.

The rest of us had the NY Strip. I'd say it was good, but not great--though I did appreciate the blackened seasoning and the chimichurri. The grilled asparagus, however, was simply fantastic. I received the complete opposite impression as soon as we sat down... The sign said see the host stand to be seated, so as we were making our way over there a nice young man told us to pick any table we would like. My cousin said the river view was very pretty, so we chose a table with that view. That table, along with a few others, had not been cleared/cleaned yet (which we didn't have a problem with but apparently they did). We sat down and a very rude server came over and essentially asked why we were sitting at a dirty table and that they have a system with the host desk. We said we didn't mind, but again they seemed to have a problem - because she walked away and the bar tender came over and asked if we checked in with anyone. She also seemed to have a problem with the fact that we sat at a dirty table! And then a third server came over and said "Can I get you anything else to drink besides a dirty table?" At that point, we just left. One rude encounter, okay, but 3 different people?? Absolutely unacceptable. We will never be eating there again and I will be telling my family to do the same.

MUST READ PRIOR TO VISIT…read more We dined at Tipsy Trout on Friday evening, March 20th. The dinner itself was good--two beers, a burger and fries--and the price was reasonable for the area. Our waitress was also great during the meal. Unfortunately, everything that followed completely overshadowed the dining experience. When we sat down on the patio, I took my wallet out of my back pocket and placed it on the table. After finishing dinner, we paid and left. About 5-7 minutes later, I realized I had left my wallet behind and returned immediately to retrieve it. When I got back, two new guests were seated at the table and said they had not seen a wallet and that the table had been cleaned before they arrived. I spoke with our waitress, who told me the manager had cleared the table, so I checked with him as well. He said he had not seen it. At that point, it became clear that my wallet had gone missing while still on the restaurant property. I had an AirTag in the wallet, and its location never left the premises. I searched extensively and asked multiple staff members if they had seen it, but no one had. Eventually, my friend found my wallet in the alley behind the restaurant, near a cigarette tray and some brush. The wallet still contained my cards, but my ID and $5 cash were missing. I returned to speak with the manager again about the missing items and got no meaningful help or resolution. I filed a report with the Basalt Police that evening at the restaurant. An officer came out, took the report, spoke with employees, and began reviewing the situation, including obtaining security camera footage from the restaurant. Early the next morning, the police department returned to follow up, speak with staff, and search the property. Later that morning, I received a call that my ID had been located in the trash room associated with the restaurant in the same alley area where the wallet was originally found. I was informed by law enforcement that the matter is under investigation and that multiple individuals of interest had been identified. Credit to the Basalt Police Department--they went above and beyond to recover my ID and follow up on this situation. I have not heard from ownership regarding this situation. While the food and service during the meal were good, the overall experience was unacceptable. Having personal property go missing on-site, later recovered in an alley and trash area with items removed, combined with the lack of accountability or follow-up, is not something I would expect anywhere. I would not recommend dining here based on this experience.
