The place was surprisingly empty on a late Sunday afternoon. Chicken tenders were tasty. I got the chicken cheese steak, oddest sandwich ever, with practically no cheese, a few scant fried onions, and the chicken was in large cubes and practically tasteless, all for $16. I ate half, took the rest home and decided to toss it. It came with nothing, not even chips for that price. Adequate fries were $4 extra. Partner got the salmon BLT and liked it. My $7 Yards Philthy IPA draft was actually warm. Not a great selection of beers. Aiden, our server was excellent. Decorations were nice, but not worth the trip as it is somewhat out of the way. So festive for Mardi Gras! Was able to walk in on a Wednesday around 7pm without a wait The actual food is mediocre but not bad. The fried pickles were very salty. The Big Easy burger $19 was loaded with 1 smash patty, 1 hot sausage patty, creole fried shrimp, french fries, american cheese, sauteed onions, remoulade. A fun combo. It was extremely difficult finding a reservation for the 2025 season but we managed to get one at 11 pm on Dec 12th and it was lovely! I still highly recommend this place to anyone I know who's looking for a Christmas wonderland based on the decor alone however their food continues to surprise me! Even when we decide to go a little more adventurous like with the mac and cheese calzone pizza combo, which sounded weird but was actually so good. Personally I would not go without a reservation as it is quite busy (especially around the holidays) and bar seating is scarce. I was so excited for this experience as new residents to Philly. We arrived a few minutes early to reservation and promptly shown to table and was informed there is a 90 min limit. Not a problem as they are super busy. Drink options were fun and food was themed for Christmas. Ordered our drinks and food. Drinks came out fast and were pretty tasty but I'll say for $19-21 they are pretty small. Drinks were done and waiting on food. Waiting. Waiting. Finally my entree came out (which was technically an app) but hubbys burger wasn't ready. Waited and waited. Finally after about 10 min told me to go ahead and eat. I cut into the Stromboli and while the top was perfectly colder the bottom was burned to. Crisp and so much dough wrapped up inside was raw. It was supposed to have grilled chicken but I couldn't find any. Another 5 minutes pass and waitress finally comes to tell us 2 more minutes in the burger. I tell her I didn't want to Stromboli bc it was raw and she looked at me like I had 2 heads. As if no one has ever complained about a meal. She talked to manger and they removed the item. Finally burger came out and I ordered a salad thinking it would be fast. Hubby was totally done with burger before salad finally came out. They did charge me for the replacement meal and added a mandatory 20% tip. He decor is very fun and cute. The decorations for Halloween? Oh yeah they did that! Craftsman Row decked their entire restaurant out with some excellent Halloween decor. It starts as soon as you walk in the door. The atmosphere is great inside, though a bit small. Our waitress was great and even the other staff who dropped off food were all sweet. I enjoyed the names of the drinks, and the drinks were great. The food lacked some flavor, but it was still edible. Overall, I'm looking forward to returning for their Christmas decorations. RESERVATIONS are highly recommended btw! read more

This was a fun and unexpected surprise to stumble across for lunch while exploring the city on a Sunday afternoon. I came at a strange time, probaby around 3pm so it wasn't crowded and the shift seemed to be preparing for the evening. I went into the city this past Saturday to meet up with my friend who lives in Philadelphia. I informed him I would like to start at a bar I have never been to and this is how we arrived at the Craftsman Row Saloon. We ordered a shot and a beer and here's where things get interesting. There was not too much left in the bottle of Powers Irish Whisky or so we thought. Bartender poured the rest of the bottle out in two cups served neat however, one of the glasses had a dead freaking insect in it, looked like a gnat. After telling my friend my shot has a gnat in it, he said, no problem and took it from me and chugged away lol. Got to love the drinking enthusiasm but I have to dock them a minimum of one star for that. We ordered an appetizer of Mozzarella sticks that were encrusted with Doritos crust. These came out piping hot and I loved them. Five to an order for $14 bucks, not cheap, but meh you're in the city what do you expect. The other thing that really took me a back was they auto tip on your bill for 20%. This is a party of two people, and I felt it almost disrespectful to add that on all of their checks, however I do understand the restaurant does that to protect themselves. Interestingly enough, we weren't told about this auto charge and did not see it on the menu. Other qualm is what I am hearing from other reviewers is they have a ninety-minute time limit for their tables. I was really excited to try Craftsman Row--the Halloween décor and themed menu were awesome. Unfortunately, the actual dining experience was disappointing. We were seated in the very back by the kitchen and bathrooms, and there was an unpleasant odor every time someone walked by. Service was slow: our waitress took our drink order, then didn't come back for about 10 minutes to take our food order, and it was another 20 minutes before our drinks arrived. The cheesesteak burger was greasy and topped with what tasted like Steak-umms instead of real shaved ribeye. The "loaded" buffalo chicken fries ($21) were basically fast-food fries with frozen chicken tossed in hot sauce--definitely not worth the price. On top of that, gratuity was automatically added for just two people, which wasn't clearly disclosed. If I hadn't noticed, I could have double-tipped for mediocre service. The concept and milkshakes are fun (and probably what they're known for), but the food and overall experience were lackluster. I wouldn't return. read more

It was definitely hard to get a reservation in October, so I suggest you start looking toward the end of September to be safe. I really came to get into the spooky spirit, but I was surprised to find that the food was actually really good!!! I've been wanting to visit Craftsman Row Saloon for the past 2-3 years during the Christmas season, so when I remembered to make a reservation at the end of October for a Sunday in December, I was excited to finally go. At the start, I was happy we got seated right away even though we were close to the bar and front door where people were gathered. At times, we could feel the cold wind blowing on our legs, but that didn't matter. I was still happy to be there. However, as the night went on, things just kept getting worse and worse. First, it took quite some time for our server to greet us and an exceptionally long time to get our drinks. I ended up not getting my drink until others at our table had finished their entrees! Santa's Treat was supposed to come in a keepsake cookie jar. Instead it was the size of a baby food jar with tons of ice and no drink. It was definitely not worth the $19 they charged for it. The Parisian Holiday, which we shared as an appetizer, was enjoyable with the brie and Gruyère cheeses. Fortunately, that came out fairly quickly, but the rest of our entrees took forever. We were there well over an hour before we got any other food, and our server blamed the kitchen system for being down and had to retake our order (without menus this time). However, everyone who sat down after us had not only received their food but eaten it and left. Also, only 2 of our 3 entrees came out, so everyone tried to eat slowly while I waited for my turkey BLT. As for the food, the burger was good as was the buffalo chicken salad although our server gave us the wrong one. Ours had ranch dressing on it, not the blue cheese we had ordered. The turkey BLT was a hot mess that looked like it was literally thrown on the plate. The sweet potato fries were crispy, but the rest of the deconstructed sandwich was not even tasty. Please be advised that the restaurant tacks on a 20% gratuity (we were a table of 3) which is a joke. Our disinterested server was not attentive and didn't even put in our order. We also had to flag her down for basics such as a glass of water. Additionally, the women's restroom was not clean and was out of toilet paper. When I politely mentioned it to the hostess, she asked if I looked under the sink. Um, I'm not at home. Why would I look in the cabinet under your sink? Needless to say, when I asked my daughter if she wanted a picture at the end of the night under the Christmas lights, she said no way. Sadly, we couldn't wait to leave. read more

The host said there were no reservations available for the rest of the night. Im guessing since it's spooky season everyone wants to see what all the hype is about. This is more of a restaurant bar. Definitely somewhere you can bring the kids. We ordered pumpkin Mac and cheese, a cheeseburger, and a Mac and cheese chicken sandwich. No complaints about the food. Very yummy. The only real downfall to this place is the 20% gratuity that they automatically add to the check. Saw this place online and I was immediately captivated by the Christmas Decorations!!!! So, it was a must that I stop by and see the awesomeness up close. We made a reservation for 7:30 pm on Friday. Upon entering the restaurant, we were greeted by a woman with an iPad who checked us in. She showed us a small table near the back. We asked if we could swap out the table for a booth since there was a large snow flake that would have been on top of one of our heads (literally). We were given a booth, which provided a little extra room. Drink orders were placed. My friend had the "cookie jar" speciality drink. I had the coquito, the guys had beers. Our drinks arrived fast. My coquito was delicious, but came in a very small (airplane sized) bottle. My friend's cookie jar drink came in a small keepsake jar, which was cute. For apps, we ordered the shrimp and fries, fried pickles, Dorito covered mozzarella sticks, wreath, and brussel sprouts. Yes, that's a lot of food! Lol! Our apps started to arrive in 15ish minutes. The shrimp and fries were fantastic!! I don't know what they do to their fries, but they literally tasted like McDonald's French fries. I tried the brussel sprouts, which were phenomenal. I could taste the pomegranate, walnuts, apples and balsamic vinaigrette. Every bite was full of flavor. Next up, I tried the wreath, which contained bread stuffed salted meats with provolone cheese and a red sauce for dipping. I liked the contents of the wreath. I think the sauce paired well with the meats and cheese. We ordered the cheese steak and Italian hoagie for the table not realizing we had more than enough food to start (and end with). Needless to say, I took a few bites of the Italian hoagie. I was already full, so I couldn't eat anymore! My friend said the cheese steak was okay. It looked a little light on the steak side. We wrapped up our great dining experience within 60ish minutes. For a party of 4, our check was around $130, not bad at all. Thank you, Craftsman for a fantastic seasonal experience. Yuletide days at Craftsman Row! It's a holiday staple and it's always a great time to visit this time of year! The halls are decked, the bells are ringing, and the spirits are flowing! We came here on the holiday tour for a night cap. I opted for their wrapped up margarita and my wife tried their candy cane martini. Solid drinks and loved the incorporated holiday flavors. The ambiance is what draws in the crowd - the place is decked out in all that is holly and jolly and the crowd forms quickly. Cannot speak of food, but went for after-theater drink. $17 specialty sangria was just a small wine glass 3/4 filled with ice and little taste. For that price, at least present it better. Other issue was this mandatory 20% tip. If you do not see it, you will double tip, but more importantly, they say it is part of bill and must be paid. Made reservations for 1pm and arrived there at 12::45pm. 2 groups in front of us (we were early) however we were seated within 5 minutes at very comfortable booth on right side as you go to bathroom. Waiter greets us and is gracious enough to give history of place (SO was questioning him) and how they change for holidays. Had a cinnamon/coffee drink with vanilla vodka. Delicious and sorry I forgot name. I ordered short ribs which were good and SO had the French dip also good. We skipped the adult milkshakes because we were continuing on our way. I took my mom and niece to Craftsman's Row last night to celebrate their birthdays. The festive milkshakes were delicious but let's just say they missed the memo on the experience part. Very disappointed with where we were sat. I spent the night looking into the kitchen (see below) but I chose the place for its Christmas decorations, which were behind me all night. When I asked the waitresses if anyone else had ever complained about being sat here, she immediately responded, "yes, many people." When I'm paying $20+ for a milkshake I don't want to see my burger being cooked on the grill. Close up the booth and forgo the revenue. That would be the right thing to do. read more

Blood bags and syringes are no longer scary when you work in the medical field, but I absolutely love the idea of them as a cocktail This restaurant/bar should definitely be on your list to go during Halloween! They decorated the whole place with spooky ghosts and sparkly lights - makes the whole place very festive! I only got 2 drinks at the bar - wanted to get a table but it was a 1.5 hour wait at 8pm. The blood bag is actually rum with some cranberry and apple cider (it actually tasted really good!) And the syringe shot, called Frog's Breath is actually lime jello and tequilla! I really enjoyed this place the Halloween decor was incredible. For 3 of us the bill was pretty expensive and tip is included it was about $50 each - but the waitress deserved an amazing tip anyway so I'm not complaining about the tip, the food was just a bit pricey.
