This is such a fun place! They have such a massive selection of boba to choose from, which is perfect for someone like me who is a bit pickier, and they have some snacks available to order as well. I got to talk to the owner (he took my order and helped make my drink) and he was so knowledgeable and explained everything on the menu for me. Super awesome! It's also just a nice place. This is my go to for boba. I love the Okinawa milk tea as its slightly sweet already and has a gentle brown sugar undertone. Definitely order this at 25% sweet as it will already be sweet enough and anymore than that would just be diabolical in my opinion. Traditional milk tea uses a non-diary creamer powder, so that also adds to the sweetness and has a beautiful milky flavor. (Again, 25% sweet is enough) The tapioca pearls had great texture and the portion size was large and perfect. About $6 a cup....keep this in mind as this plus your daily coffee order may add up if done together. You pay and manually enter your order on the tablet near the front register. Visited May 24, 2023. Yin Yang Tea has two locations. One in Germantown and one on White Bridge Pike. The current reviewed is for White Bridge Pike. This tea shop is fast-casual, self ordered, & cashless. They have a decent variety of drinks (photo of menu attached) which can be ordered at one of two kiosks. There was a lack of face to face customer service during this visit. The employees were behind a curtain during our visit and came out when drinks were done. I do believe we were greeted but it was hardly noticed by my husband because it was said behind the curtain and was very low. The location is very close to Nashville State Community College NSCC so I can imagine it being busy during the school semester like when it was previously 'Royal Boba'. Currently this shop only has tea, but I'm hoping in the future they will introduce snacks items. I do not have any suggestions yet, I still haven't found my go to drink here. My family loves their teas but I find the sweetness level to be inconsistent. Flavor is there just too sweet for me. Pricing starts at $5.5 and increases depending on your milk and topping choices. Ambiance is casual with playful decor. It's a great location for teens and college students. They have games for customers to play during your visit. Drinks were made under 10 minutes. Service was neither good or bad, but the employees seem nice. Parents with young babies, it's stroller friendly but no high chairs, boosters, or changing tables. There's one gender neutral restroom available. The parking lot is shared and on the smaller side. There's extra parking behind the building if needed. Overall it was okay! I prefer the Germantown location better to be honest. I love bubble tea & always at one or the other with my family so hopefully I'll find my drink soon! read more

Came to this specific Yin Yang Tea a couple of months ago, and it was calm/empty inside. It was cutely designed in the store, and the cashier/worker came out and acknowledged my brothers and I as soon as we walked into the store. Whether it was busy or not, the prices were reasonable/fair and the staff was fast. However, the only con is that one of our orders (we got 3 of the same drinks with boba) turned out super milky and not "sweet"/ what we ordered. We knew this was clearly made wrong but we already walked outside the store and just accepted our loss since it was already late in the night. It's nicely decorated but the bathroom is also dirty/out of stock with paper towels when I used it. Yin yang is hands down the best boba in Nashville! The texture of their boba pearls are always perfect every time and they even have a little sweetness to them which i really. Sometimes i get boba from other places and they're too mushy or too hard but yin yang's are always the perfect consistency. They also have so many good flavors to choose from. They have a variety of steeped teas, milk teas, fruit teas, and even blended options. The staff is always so friendly and willing to answer any questions or give suggestions. Just like their original location in Germantown, the new Yin Yang tea is a wonderful, highly personalized experience for those looking for local bubble tea. Just like venues in East Asia, you can customize amount of both ice and sweetness. The only slightly confusing factor is that 50% sweetness is actually 100%. There's quite a few options for toppings, from various jellies (grass, aloe, lychee, etc) to tapiocas. Whether you're a milk tea or fruit tea person, they have something for everyone. I live for the interesting specials the store does although I'm not the biggest fan of the latest mangonada (the chamoy to mango slush ration was off.) However, the store is always willing to try something new and fresh. It's concepts like these that keep boba shops alive in Nashville, after all. I stopped by by Yin Yang Tea after dinner (Wednesday 5/24/23 at 7:30p). (Formerly Known As Royal Boba). The shop was pretty empty. You order everything thru a kiosks, and they will call your name when your order is ready. If you have any questions when order in regard of the flavors or topping, you can ring the bell for services. When order, you will able to customize the flavors of choice, milk option, sweetness level, ice level and topping. Their base are non dairy so perfect for vegan and lactose intolerance diet. I ordered 3 drinks and it come out fairly quick. Drinks are good and pretty consistent every time. They have sitting areas as well as board games for you to play. Definitely a nice place to hangout with friends. One thing to keep in mind is that Yin Yang Tea doesn't not take cash, only credit card payment. read more

It appears this store took over Royal Boba and moved into the suite to the left and of what used to be Royal Boba. In a city as large as Nashville, there are limited options for bubble tea. The experience from our visit was disappointing. I hope Yin Yang tea continues to improve. Cash is not accepted. They use a credit card only system where the staff are behind a curtain making the drinks, and credit card kiosks take your orders. When you enter, a door chime goes off and a staffer pops out from behind the curtain to briefly greet you. The two options offered for milk teas were 1) non-dairy powdered creamer and 2) oat milk. I opted for a steeped milk tea since I expected it to have a stronger tea flavor than a regular milk tea. I was also surprised to see that their only ice options were more, normal or zero ice. I guess I was hoping for a "less ice" option. My steeped signature milk tea was really sweet for 50%. Our other Nagasaki milk tea had zero tea flavor (it tasted like sweet water). Our other mango blend drinks were fairly sweet at 25% sugar. Our straws were much too small in diameter to suck the boba. One drinker said "I have a traffic jam in my straw." Behind me, I could hear the other drinkers struggling to suck up their jellies in their straws. I had to stop drinking because I was actually worried about choking in the car from trying to get anything up the straw. To assist my fellow drinker, I tried to squeeze his cup straw to move the boba and the straw actually cracked because it's not the normal wide softer boba straws you typically find at bubble tea stores. Their straws are legitimate choking hazards with the drink toppings. We opted for 0% to 25% to 50% Sugar. Our 25%-50% sugar levels still came out very saccharine. Maybe our too small straws were our saving grace because it prevented us from actually consuming the rest of our too sweet drinks. read more

My main issue with the boba here is that it's served with crushed ice that's small enough to fit inside the straw. This means that when you get toward the end of your drink, you suck up a bunch of ice along with the tapioca balls. I asked if they have any actual ice cubes, and the answer was no. I would think it would be a given that you want to serve boba with ice that won't go up the straw, but maybe I'm the only one who's bothered by this? I find it really annoying. Aside from the ice, the quality of the tea is just ok. I ordered my drink with oat milk (extra $1), but it just tasted watery, almost as if they're diluting the oat milk before serving.
