It's not as busy, you tend to get in and out of security relatively quickly, but the downfall is there aren't as many food/beverage options, and manytimes unless you're going to a larger city, you can't get a direct flight too many places. This particular time, I arrived pretty early for my flight. Luckily I already had my carry on and boarding pass, so I didn't have to go to ticketing or drop my luggage off. I had pre-check, so I went through that line. It was pretty quick, but noticed this particular time, the regular security line was quicker. Once I got through security, I headed to my gate. Jacksonville is doing some construction in their terminals, so the options are pretty slim. Hopefully that changes.

Everything is very clear, with open space for big crowds and the restrooms are very clean. Also, they've recently changed their scanning machines at TSA which makes the process smoothers. However, once you pass TSA and enter the terminals, that's where it gets very crowded and there's not enough space for the amount of people waiting for their flight which can be very chaotic. Also, the food options are very limited, so I would recommend just grabbing something to eat before getting to the airport. Also, the bathrooms near the gates are very dirty and would avoid them at all costs. Frankly it feels like a whole different airport once you cross TSA, and not in a good way. However, the main reason why I am giving them three stars is their rental car area, which is insanely confusing. You first check-in with your rental car company across from the baggage claim area, and they will give you a parking spot number to pick-up the car. If you are carrying a lot of luggage with you, this can be extremely annoying because it is a long walk and the signs are not very clear. If you are traveling with kids and a lot of luggage, I suggest having one person pick up the rental, while the other stays put by the pick-up area outside of baggage claim.

We came here during spring break. It's definitely way smaller than the Norfolk Passenger Terminal…read more It's clean. There's a 24hr vending machine area next door. There are two entrances for the terminal...about 20 feet away from each other. One of the entrances has an Enterprise Rental Car desk right there. The parking lot is not terribly large, but the day we went, there wasn't any difficulty finding any parking. The bathrooms were clean. There is a charging station with cords attached. If you can find a seat near an outlet, take it. There's a small kids area complete with books and toys. The seats are fairly close together...so people and their baggages can make it feel cozier than what some may be comfortable with. We had no issues...people were friendly. I think I and kid #3 made a lot of friends that day. Hahaha. All in all, we showed up about 2 hours before roll call and waited a few hours for the plane to come in from Gitmo. I'm glad we had an overabundance of snacks from our trip down there...we had some to snack on instead of being at the mercy of the vending machines. There were some hot items in one of the vending machines with a microwave right next to it....pizzas & burgers were in the machine. Nice little terminal and can't complain for the cost of traveling Space A. Also, no free Wi-Fi (like we had at the Norfolk Passenger Terminal).

And next door to the Blue Sky Golf Club. As we travel and stop at different airports, it interesting to compare what each FBO offers. JAXEX had a nice lounge with tv for us to hang out while we waited for an Uber. Since we were getting gas, there was no charge for leaving our plane overnight. Since we were staying a night with my sister, it was nice that there were carts provided to carry our bags from the plane to inside. A bonus was homemade cookies at the front desk! When we got ready to leave the next day, my husband was able to take my sister up for a fly over the beach and then pull right up to the door to let her out. I am looking forward to returning to this airport for a longer visit.
