I basically only fly Delta as I've accumulated status with them over the years and as someone who was a very frequent flyer pre-covid-19 pandemic and who has continued to fly during the pandemic both pre and post vaccination, I have been impressed by how they have handled things. Delta has been through many changes over the years, with renaming cabins, increasing the stringency of the loyalty program, changing the in flight meals and snacks, and improving the sky club accommodations. One thing that has also changed has been the seemingly steady increase in the fare prices! However, I've remained loyal and it worked in my favor during the pandemic. Delta blocked middle seats through the end of April 2021, which has provided breathing room literally for passengers and has demonstrated their acknowledgment of the seriousness of the virus. They shifted quickly to take away menu items in the Sky Clubs and easy, portable snack bags on the flights. Most importantly, they required masks over the nose and mouth throughout the entire travel journey and they emphasized it multiple times in the gate area and on flights. I love the many entertainment options at each seat, the new planes, and the in flight wi-fi. The international flight accommodations are also excellent, particularly in the business canon with the seats that lie flat, the gourmet meals, and the plush bedding. Delta will remain my airline of choice despite the inconvenience at times with having to layover in their hub cities and the lack of widespread direct flights from my small home airport. read more

Flew Delta back from Jamaica with a layover in ATL (still not sure why we flew past JAX, but whatever). I like that Delta offers free TV, movies, games, and even headphones; huge plus. I got to catch up on my tv show! Snacks were standard: water, soda, chips, and Biscoff cookies. Overall, Delta continues to be one of the better airlines I've flown. Flight attendants are out of touch! Super slow snack service so the back end of plan received nothing. Then there was a weather delay at the end destination, so the pilot flew in circles for more than 40 minutes. Still couldn't land so the plane was rerouted to another city. Still no service after sitting on the refueling tarmac for over an hour. Attendance start a water walk and begin with the front half of the plane-totally tone def that the end of the plane still has nothing. BIG regrets flying Delta Flight 1525. If you are over 50 it is not a good idea to fly Delta....There Planes are very small...They are like crop dusters that fly from state to state .. I understand the use of small prop planes for in-state travel, but we flew from Florida to NYC round trip with the same cramped.crop duster like planes...If you sit coach you are framed in like sardines and what's worst is the seats do not recline...Your back is in pain for the whole flight....Evan if you have ONE small hand luggage and you are seated in zone 5-6, you end up checking that bag in becuse the aircraft is so small on the inside. No reclining seats and no TV. Its a horrible experience...The isle way is so small you have to walk sideways to get through the aircraft. All flights were delayed, not just mine....Flight attendants were non caring and slow to respond to anything....Go with another airline...Delta Airlines is a non-caring, garbage service. read more

Recently took a round trip flight from AGS to DAY, DAY to AGS. paid over $1k for my ticket only to not sit in first class, the return flight had engine troubles so I had to stay in DAY for the night and catch another flight that they put me on the next day. They had no 1st class seats so they put me in economy. I was told I would receive a voucher and be reimbursed for my flight. It took over a week to finally get in touch with someone and talk to a Bot to be told I could only be compensated $150 eticket credit . I told them this is unacceptable and the least they could do is reimburse me the difference but they said they couldn't go back and see anything because the flight was over. So sad, please think twice before putting your confidence in Delta to do what's right and fair. we are not asking for a handout as we spent over $20k in flights taking the family to Rhode Island in August 2024 (can be verified). I flew Delta in and out of Jacksonville and had no issues. We were on time and even arrived to our destination a little early. I didn't check a bag, but I had no issues with my carry on. They served small drinks and a small snack (bus off cookies or pretzels). I always get the biscoff cookies. They had screens on the back on the seats and you could watch in flight entertainment. If I could give it negative rating I would, we purchased round trip ticket for our son. We call to try and change to later flight but cost was $$$ as expected, we decline change and agree to keep ticket as purchased. Customer service representative cancels ticket altogether. We call back and are charged extra $200 for same ticket. I email delta advising them of mistake they made and they refund us $100 about 10 days later. My son 6 weeks later tries to check in for return flight to JAX , delta website says you must come to airport to check in, at airport he is informed there is no ticket , it was canceled and we are out $268 . Again, this was the very first time I used this luggage! Delta said it was 'normal wear and tear' so they will not even consider my damaged luggage claim. Unbelievable!!! Jeff who is a Gate Agent with Delta at the JAX Airport deserves a raise!! We had a delayed departure out of JAX due to the plane needing some tires changed and he personally called our group to try to get us on the next connecting flight. Due to the size of our group, he couldn't get us all on the same plane and talked us through our best options on getting to our final destination. He went above and beyond!! I love flying Delta! And whenever I fly out of JAX, it's pretty much a no brainer. Check your bags curbside if you have them and give the handlers a nice tip. I will usually give a minimum of $5 per checked bag, but it's always your choice. Prepay online if you have to check your bag that way it's just one less thing to do while traveling. The curbside Delta employees are usually upbeat and happy so that's alway a plus. Bring your own headphones with a jack. I mean, the Delta crew will have them for purchase for two bucks, but they are not the best quality and if it's a long flight you're going to want to have your own comfy listening device in your ears with better quality sound. Trust me. I would highly recommend TSA Pre-Check Program, Clear or, in my case, Delta Sky Priority (due to my brother being a road warrior and purchasing my tickets). This takes flying to a whole 'nother level, my friend. No showing my ID, no taking off my shoes, no taking out the laptop, no one checking my purse and no one patting me down. I had the greatest flight out of Jacksonville tonight into Boston. My flight (2595) was on time and the flight attendants were excellent. Sit and wait... that's what the theme of my day on my Delta trip from Jacksonville. I had just done half a day of class in a conference and also traveled to the airport. I was already tired and want to just start flying so I could get home at a reasonable hour. I had two flights ahead of me, one to Atlanta and another to Fort Wayne... as such I had still a journey to make. The Delta area of the airport is comfortable so I will give them that... but it was a long wait to get my bags checked (over 20 minutes) and then it was hours before I was able to get home... my flight was delayed multiple times on these trips both in Jacksonville and then Atlanta. I got to the airport at 1:00 pm... I didn't get back to Fort Wayne until almost midnight! And then I had to do an hour drive home! Yeah I was not happy! read more

WHO DAT? I usually fly Jet Blue, or Southwest Airlines to New Orleans. But, this time I flew with Delta for Christmas to see my two sons and family. This was the first time ever that my two sons paid for my tickets! What a great Christmas gift! They chose Delta for my airline. It's been a long time since I have flown with Delta. Flew Delta out of Jacksonville to Detroit and back. Flights were supposed to be nonstop, but with everything going on in the world the had to send us through Atlanta on both legs. All of our flights were very comforting seeing how much effort the staff put in to ensure our trip was safe. The aircraft was spotless and they gave us extra cleaning wipes. They did not pack us in like other airlines are already doing. We felt that the Delta employees went the extra step to ensure our safety. I'm drafting this message from my seat in the plane because I am so angry, I could not possibly wait to address this issue. I used to say I would only fly Delta or Jet Blue. Now, I will only fly Jet Blue. I traveled back and forth from Jacksonville to JFK this week and it was the worst travel experience I have ever endured. Firstly, my flight was delayed 3 hours. On my way to NY there was a family of screaming children waiting in the airport. Now I understand that the airline can't be responsible for misbehaving children, however, they could certainly ask the parents to comfort or quiet their children. Had this been a restaurant that cost half he price of my airline ticket, the parents would have been asked to quiet their children or leave. Of course the screaming children boarded the plane and continued to scream at each other throughout the flight. The woman in the seat next to me was too big to fit in one seat so she took up half of my seat. I spent the duration of the flight with the body of a sweaty stranger rubbing against me. The flight landed and we waited 45 minutes before being "tugged" to the Gate. My checked luggage went to the wrong baggage claim area and it took me 30 minutes to be able to retrieve it. Because my flight was so atrocious I called to ask if my flight home could be upgraded to first class. I did not want to sit with a stranger pressed against me the entire seat yet again. With what it cost to fly these days, I should not have to endure such things. Now let me be clear, I wasn't asking for a free upgrade. I was willing to pay for my upgrade. When I called Delta's customer service they would not allow me to upgrade. They told me if I really wanted an upgraded seat I could buy a second ticket. I had a terrible flight and now you want me to buy another ticket to avoid a second terrible flight? What kind of customer service is that?!? Now i am on my return flight to JAX from JFK. This flight is delayed as well. I have just boarded my flight; there are at least 4 empty rows of seats in the upgraded seat section. Why is it I couldn't pay for a better seat? Completely asinine! And to add insult to injury, the person sitting next to me was using my chair for her carry on, then wanted to know if I wanted to sit somewhere else. Yes. I would love to sit somewhere else. I flew Delta solo with my 3 children. Arrived at the airport and received a text that my flight was delayed. 30 min later I received another text that my flight was canceled. It was suppose to leave at 8:20pm initially. I had already turned in my rental car. In panic mode the airport hotel had 3 rooms left so I quickly reserved one. Checked in with my 3 kids to figure out what to do next. Unfortunately the next flight out on Delta was two days later. School was starting the next day and I had a schedule full of patients to see. Of course you can't get a person to help you on the phone. I had to find another airline that was leaving the next day and it was American but the tickets were $900 a piece and I'd have to fly into another city and rent a car (again alone with my 3 kids) but I didn't have a choice. I was trying to get from Detroit to Jacksonville Fl. The trip home cost me $4600. Delta refunded the second portion of our flight and that was it. I thought I was safe flying Delta. They said it was due to weather at first. There was a quick storm 2 hours before our flight but that was it. They then said it was due to air traffic control so they didn't have to reimburse me. Not much legroom on Delta but hey, they were the cheapest fare out there for a last minute Thanksgiving getaway! The legroom and the fact that you have to pay $25 for your first checked bags brought this rating down from a 5 star to a 4 Star. My flight experience on Delta has been minimal because I normally fly JetBlue to and from D.C. so I want to be fair. I will say the airplane was very clean and they appear to have more updated planes than Jetblue. My departure and arrival were on time and the overhead bin space was huge! No one had to precheck their carryon luggage at the gate due to "not enough overhead space". I have always been weary about checking my carryon because I never know where my carryon will end up. At the gate or at the luggage Pickup conveyor belt. But thank God there's no need to worry at Delta because their bin spaces are extra roomy! I would definitely fly Delta again because the positives outweighs the negatives. Just have someone help Atlanta Airport with their system/organization on the inside of the airport. read more

Delta normally does well, but this flight (and the incoming flight) was a let-down. I paid quite a bit extra to get comfort seating and pick my seat, and it seems it was nothing more than taking extra money from me. On the incoming flight, they made me check my carry on, and gave my window seat away (I was stuck in the middle). On the return flight, that again made me check my CARRY-ON bag saying they were out of space in the overhead compartments (even though I paid extra). I got inside the plane, and there were several open bins. It may seem like a small deal, but I pay extra for convenience and to save extra time (often 30 minutes per flight) to walk off the plane and straight to my vehicle. Also, they seem to only run the Air conditioning in flight. During boarding and taxiing, the plane can get very uncomfortable and hot! read more

Haven't flown Delta in years. The route we took from Jacksonville to Providence put me on a 757 and an MD88 and both were quite a bit dated. All of my seats reclined on take off and would not stay upright if you leaned back at all. I like the snack choices and we didn't get delayed in Atlanta so that was a bonus. I haven't been convinced to make Delta my airline of choice at this point however. read more

Delta is raising their bar! I even flew a short Delta connection flight and the flight attendant jumped up as soon as she could and was serving drinks to the Comfort+ people. It was only a 25 minute flight and she got drinks and water to all of us and then came around with snacks. Great stuff. read more

Just received an email about my flight is canceled on tomorrow on May 30th! at 6:05am and to get there at around 8-9am. a Non stop flight and saying it is canceled and sorry for the "inconvenience". But that does not help any situation. We have meetings and all planned out and I don't even know why we booked Delta when my friends and family literally had trouble earlier in this year with a canceled flight but we gave them the benefit of the doubt and still screwed us over. If I have the choice of multiple carriers and there is no direct option, I will fly Delta every time. Too bad they don't do direct flights to South Florida. Delta typically has an electrical outlet at every seat and free wi-fi for T-Mobile customers. This is something I haven't seen anywhere else. I can count on their wireless working at a reasonable speed every time as well. From Jacksonville, I can pretty much expect I will be flying first through Atlanta just about every time. Atlanta is awesome, so no qualms there. They're rarely late and the seats are comfortable. I'm also typically not given a hard time about my bags, unlike JetBlue and American, which have exposed me to some fairly unreasonable policies, depending on location. I'm a frequent flyer for personal and business and have been very pleased with delta. The check in clerk was super friendly and automatically printed me a new boarding pass showing TSA pre check using my DOD number. They are also military friendly and participate in programs to give discounted flights to military. They were very friendly in all aspects. All the seats in the four planes i flew on had their own free movie screens in front of you. Very nice. The seats also had charging ports. They also offer a variety of snacks to choose from. I would like to say something nice about Delta Regional but it's hard at the moment. First, delayed due to weather. Spoke to several NYC associates and it was raining there but seemed to them like weather was okay. I will take Delta's word for it. We waited four hours past take off then we were told there was a mechanical delay. Wouldn't it of been nice if they would have checked the plane during our four hour delay? Pamela at the front counter of Delta this morning @5 am took 10 minutes of her time focused on my situation to try to make it better. She not only upgraded me from flying into Sacramento, but she gave me sky priority for every flight, extra leg room because I'm a tall person, & first class on one of my flights. First experience with Delta at this airport. Gate agent for outbound flight to Detroit was unfamiliar with upgrade policies practiced at other airports. Crossover Rewards is recognized by all I've flown to recently and if there are extra seats once Medallions I'm always upgraded.
