Touchless ID available, very smooth process, gates were clean and had ample seating and chargers at seats. Overall good gate for airline

This used to be my favorite airline when our bags could fly free. Unfortunately, this is probably my last flight as it doesn't set them apart from anyone else so from now on it's whoever has the best schedules and prices. The check-in employees were having a problem getting me checked in for my flight although my traveling companion had no problem after about 25 minutes they were able to book cancel and rebook due to a storm in my connecting city of Nashville. I got routed to Austin, Texas, then St. Louis and a three hour flight turned into a 12 hour total travel. I did try calling the 800 number the night prior to reschedule and was told by the person actually in Nashville that there wasn't a problem. I guess they don't have the ability to assist or the thought process when a customer is calling based on a text received to reschedule?

Southwest Airlines is a great way to fly! From booking to checking and flight info - this airline is my favorite. The app is easy to use & the pre booking and no baggage fees are the best! I will be using SW for all my future flights and glad to have used them on my Holiday ventures. I highly recommend SW

I flew Southwest airlines for my trip to Jacksonville FL and it was a great experience. The flight attendants and staff are always very professional and take care of the passengers. I especially like the fact that there are no baggage fees for flying Southwest airlines. Everyone always knocks Southwest airlines because of the delays, but I have not had much experience with the delays except for this time when we had a delay due to the pilot's seat being broken. Yes,delays occur on flights on occasion and you cannot control it, but Southwest does a great job informing passengers on updates for the flight. I have flown Southwest airlines for a long time and I have never had a bad experience on a flight, so that alone is a testament to how professional and excellent Southwest is as an airline. I will continue to fly Southwest because their airfares are very reasonable and the rewards program is excellent if you are a frequent flyer. Fly Southwest because it is worth the price and experience!

I actually love Southwest Airlines and I have never had any issues at SW through JAX. I mean, come on...we have the easiest airport in the world. Seriously. It's one of the few airlines that I can fly non-stop direct to and from the West Coast for a pretty decent price. The Southwest crew has always accommodated any requests I've made such as more Lorna Doone Cookies (love) additional savory snacks and coffee in-flight. I do like my snacks while traveling. I have requested pillows and blankets for my flying comfort with longer flights and they were always brought to me in a very efficient and timely manner. I've been on a few bumpy rides on SW into and out of Jacksonville and although I may be cursing the pilot in my head at the moment, I can't really blame the airline for that. No one can control the weather and big air pockets in the sky. I also enjoy the fact that I never have to pay for my checked bag because the first one in free (up to 50 lbs., I believe) unlike many other carriers. It usually saves me about $25-30 because on a longer vacation, I do tend to overpack. I do appreciate that the Southwest Airlines flight crew tends to bring humor to the flying experience by keeping it light and fun during flight. I think it helps a lot of people that have serious anxiety from flying like my boyfriend. Poor guy.

This is my review for Southwest Airlines as well as the airline industry in general. I originally booked a vacation to Florida in late 2019. (Prior to knowing I'd actually be moving to Florida as well as prior to COVID) As we all know March of 2020 brought huge uncertainty to the economy as a whole with COVID giving a huge impact to how we do business. As we all know it was uncharted waters for everyone, which I'm very understanding. Southwest would NOT refund any of the money I spent to purchase flights. Southwest went the route of giving me credits for future flights and an extended time frame of up to three years to use the credits. At first glance this seems to be adequate though i feel it is not. The fact that COVID changed so many things for so many families, I feel as though Southwest should have offered the opportunity of requesting a full refund of money spent. Now coming full speed into this current trip on Southwest. I had these credits to use up so I figured, OK...I'll use some for a trip to Las Vegas. Upon searching for this flight I quickly realized my banked credits were only going to get me so far. So I ended up having to give Southwest $124 MORE of my money to cover my round trip cost including the use of all of my banked credits. Now to the average person you are already pissed because you spent over a thousand dollars for flights for a vacation that you had to cancel due to COVID. then you see an airline industry that was held afloat by our fellow tax paying citizens only to have to spend even more money to fly somewhere you want to go now that we are free to move about the country again. However, Southwest can cancel your flight due to weather at any given point and there is no recourse to you getting a full refund. A business practice I wholeheartedly disagree with. Upon booking this flight to Las Vegas my travel plans AGAIN were changed by Southwest with no warning, I had a flight from Jacksonville to Atlanta with a small layover then a flight straight to Las Vegas. It was changed to a 2.5hr flight from Jacksonville to St. Louis (no plane change) then a 39 minute flight from St. Louis to Chicago (no plane change) then a 4hr flight from Chicago to Las Vegas easily giving me a 9+ hr travel day. I was not presented with any choices or options for this change in schedule. Nor was I compensated for having to adjust my travel plans, car & hotel rental for this change either. There were also entire flight crew changes at every single stop which I found to be odd. Southwest has some of the best most professional crews in the industry so my flight experience was definitely par the course. However, my gripes are more so with their business practices and the lack of compassion they display for strong arming their customers once you've given them your hard earned money. I feel as though I paid a lot of money for a vacation I couldn't take (No fault of Southwest) only to be told NO to my refund request AND having to pay $124 MORE for a 9+ hour flight day that generally in the past has taken me around 6 or 7 hours to do. (Boy, do I miss those non stop flights from Baltimore,Maryland to Las Vegas, Nevada at this point) In the future I'm going to be VERY selective in how I choose my airline company prior to travel. I've used Southwest way more times than any other airline company to date. I know a better job can be done by this company and industry as a hold to better the experiences of your repeat customers. So my eyes are open and my loyalty to a company brand is subject to change at this point moving forward.

I got in line, used the QR code to check in, waited about 15 minutes, as the line moved along with deliberate speed. Walked through the airport a bit, and passed up the huge row of rocking chairs (maybe about 60 of them) in the middle of the breezeway. Nice! Got to the TSA and did not have to take my shoes off! Finally, got back to sanity! Put my stuff in the huge bin, walked through the scanner. The guard had to check my wrists and arms, because I have a Dot.com bracelet on for my Instagram, so it probably set off a light or two. Easy peasy, got my stuff and headed to my gate for a seat. I have to say that was the fastest I have ever gotten through an airport from being dropped off. The whole process took about 35 minutes! Wow!

Not a horribly lengthy flight, yet still too long. Somehow, overnight, the departure time was lengthened by 15 minutes. Once we arrived to the airport, it was delayed again twice, to equal another 25-30 minutes. Typical, but not a good first impression! Boarding the plane became chaotic because few people could understand what the Breeze employee was saying. She seemed to want to eat the microphone when speaking into it. Once on board the flight, the attendants had to stay seated for the first hour of the 5 hour flight because it was too bumpy. Once through the turbulence, they got up to serve drinks. Your choice was water or ice water. Anything else, they charged for. No snacks were handed out. I asked one of the attendants if they had a blanket because my husband was cold, but really wanted to rest his head on it while he tried to sleep. They had no blankets of any sort, so they said. There were several young babies on the flight who were quite vocal about their being uncomfortable! I was taken aback when one of the flight attendants shouted fairly loudly 'Give 'em a bottle! Give 'em a pacifier! Give 'em a boob!' That was rude & unethical as well as uncalled for! It is definitely not her place to be instructing passengers on how to quiet their kids who have no control over how they feel about flying. It was not the best of flights home from vacation.... But still happy to be back home and in my own bed!!!

My first flight, I was ignored during snack and beverage time. I figured it was a fluke, but we were delayed from disembarking for 45 minutes. Things happen. Delays seem to be the m.o. of this airline. We arrived from Pittsburgh in Jacksonville, and had to wait for a Breeze Airways plane to finish and taxi away...no problem. Would you believe ANOTHER Breeze Airways plane passes us up and went straight to the airport and unloaded. Then an Air Canada plane came and docked, then a Delta plane cane and docked, and we are still sitting here. Now, Brian, one of the flight attendants was very entertaining while giving us all the flight info, so much so that when he was done, he got applause. I have never seen that! The way the schedule the planes needs to improve. Not only did they delay more than a hundred people, they also negated his stellar performance on the microphone. Also, I was skipped for the beverage on this flight, as well. The row in front and behind me got drinks, and I went thirsty. When the crew saw how delayed we would be, they got cups and water to help with the dehydration of flying. I stared at each one of the three flight attendants, and not one of them looked at me, nor did they ask if I wanted some water. The row in front of me got water, as did the row behind me. Not sure why this airline just serves drinks randomly, and not systematically! So much room for improvement. I actually want to fly this airline again, in a few months, to see if things get better. I will also write several emails directly to the company.

Delta has been through many changes over the years, with renaming cabins, increasing the stringency of the loyalty program, changing the in flight meals and snacks, and improving the sky club accommodations. One thing that has also changed has been the seemingly steady increase in the fare prices! However, I've remained loyal and it worked in my favor during the pandemic. Delta blocked middle seats through the end of April 2021, which has provided breathing room literally for passengers and has demonstrated their acknowledgment of the seriousness of the virus. They shifted quickly to take away menu items in the Sky Clubs and easy, portable snack bags on the flights. Most importantly, they required masks over the nose and mouth throughout the entire travel journey and they emphasized it multiple times in the gate area and on flights. I love the many entertainment options at each seat, the new planes, and the in flight wi-fi. The international flight accommodations are also excellent, particularly in the business canon with the seats that lie flat, the gourmet meals, and the plush bedding. Delta will remain my airline of choice despite the inconvenience at times with having to layover in their hub cities and the lack of widespread direct flights from my small home airport.

The Amtrak station wasn't crowded; it was clean and the staff was very pleasant. There seems to have been some renovations going on at the station, which is good. It was an easy process to check our luggage and just wait on the train, which was delayed a bit. Of note, there were delays throughout the trip. Not one time was any of the trains ever on time. There were multiple stops along the way to pick up travelers and to drop off travelers at various stations. But we always made the next connection. This was our first train ride of this kind. Both my husband and I wanted the experience of an overnight train ride. We traveled from Jacksonville to New York City (overnight), then caught another train (9-hour ride; Coach seats very comfortable; very ample leg room) from New York City to Niagara Falls, then took a taxi across the border to the Canadian side. Though we paid for a "first class" experience, the accommodations were definitely not "first class." Definitely need an upgrade in terms of the rooms. Still, the experience of traveling and not having to deal with anything near the stress of catching a flight was just very satisfying. We purchased the bedroom and the space was very tight, but it was private and peaceful. Enjoying the scenery along the way was awesome. The meals were good and the service we received was top notch. With the meals, we had the option of eating in the dining room, or having our meals brought to our room. We exercised both options throughout the trip. Note, there is a "cafe" on board the train as well for those who were riding coach and for anyone who wanted to purchase food in between meals. On our return trip back, we had a bit of a layover in NY so we were able to enjoy the lounge (complimentary food, spacious seating area).
