I've been meaning to write a review about the wonderful treatment I received at Dr. Conrow's office in early 2021. I was fairly new to the desert when a crown came loose and needed immediate repair. I called Dr. Conrow's office and his great receptionist got me right in. Unfortunately, a full-mouth xray and exam revealed that a lot more was falling apart than just that one tooth. Dr. Conrow showed me that fully 1/3 of my lower jaw bone was gone due to tooth and bone loss and the bone loss was becoming a dental emergency. I called my former Prosthedontist in Northern California and he confirmed that I had been well on my way to this diagnosis for several years and I should trust Dr. Conrow. The treatment was the removal of some of my remaining teeth, and an upper denture and a lower partial, built to prevent further bone loss. I have now talked to many denture wearers who were seen by other doctors and none of them had the amazing care and expertise I received. Many were in and out of their dentist's offices in one visit and have dentures that look unnatural and don't fit. Many were given totally impersonal attention at a time when they felt they were in a true crisis. I almost feel guilty because I got such top notch care... Dr. Conrow had me make numerous appointments to his office to measure, re-measure and make sure that everything was built perfectly. He had great compassion for the ordeal of getting this work done, including the emotional distress I was feeling about the loss of my teeth. But when all the work was done I walked out of there with a beautiful smile, and I feel like we hopefully saved my lower jaw. Of everything, finally being able to smile ear to ear has been the best part. I know I got the best possible care, with the best possible outcome. I am DEEPLY grateful to Dr. Conrow and his incredible staff for all the loving care and a great smile. Thank you! read more

Not good for crowns. First one failed from beginning and was offered another at a discount!? Why would I want to pay even more money when you couldn't do it right the first time and making the cost of the crown double the original price? Nope. read more

I feel like some of these reviews are quite dated. Lol. My teenage son had a dental emergency, having 2 teeth knocked out. Dr. McLachlan was absolutely amazing. Took us in short notice as it was time sensitive. Was so calm and informative with my son. Fixed his smile. Made this awful situation so much easier and less scary. Brought peace of mind. And couldn't beat the price. The woman at the front desk was so kind and even asked how he was when I went in to make his follow up appointment. Would recommend to everyone! read more

I went in with a recommendation. The first time I walked in a tech asked if I had insurance and then proceeded to do 1,000 Xrays. Then the hygenist told me I needed to come for a cleaning 5 times a year. A lot of unchanging. I liked the dentist but his support staff stinks. Bye bye. read more

Seriously, do not come here. You are a walking, talking dollar sign to this dental office. This office will misquote you a much lower estimate, and then once your massive bill comes they will harass you day in and day out for payment. Whoever their billing staffer is, she is demanding, cold, and rude. They do not have a secure patient portal to pay their exorbitant bills, they will text you + call you + email you asking to send payment details via unsecured routes. Half way through my process which is major, so far I'm completely satisfied. Dr Conrow does beautiful cosmetic dentistry.

Going to Dr. Conrow feels like being at a car dealer when they start trying to sell you a lot of expensive add-ons you don't need. He also does a number of superfluous x-rays and photos that are quite expensive and not necessy especially in light of the fact he was just sent recent x-rays from a previous dentist. You may also be told things like you need braces which would really totally overkill. Definitely feels like a racket. Furthermore they are not wearing N95 masks or face shields in the middle of a pandemic! Really poor form and very dangerous. The hygienist, however, seems very good. The office is hyper focused on texting and calling the patients and padding their fees. So you could say you get good service on certains levels, but you'll get a big bill in return. read more

On June 27, 2012, I visited Dr. Conrow's office as part of a "free" consultation for teeth whitening. As soon as I entered the office I was given a very aggressive "hard sell" for other services. I had to say repeatedly that I was only here for a free consult. When his staff called to schedule the appointment, I confirmed this was a free consultation. And again when I was seated in the chair in the office, I asked that this be a free consultation. I already have a regular dentist, but they persisted, trying to convince me to get veneers. It was all very awkward and uncomfortable, and I decided that I was not interested in anything. No x-rays were taken, no dental work was performed. But I was charged $115 and it was clear that I was not allowed to leave without paying even though no services were performed. I asked for a refund and was ignored. I wrote a letter and was ignored. I have been a patient of Dr. Conrow for approximately four years. He is by far the best dentist I have ever been to! Ten years ago i had a dentist do six veneers on my upper front teeth, they looked fine but i was never thrilled with them. I was living in the desert and Dr. Conrow came highly recommended by several of my friends in town. One of my friends had the most natural and incredible looking veneers and I asked her where she had them done and she told me they were done by Dr. Conrow. I now live in Santa Barbara and recently had Dr. Conrow redo my veneers. Oh my gosh.....they're GORGEOUS!!!!! I couldn't be happier. I can tell you that i will continue to drive from Santa Barbara to Palm Desert for any and all future dental work. His staff has always been professional, courteous and caring. read more

Today I experienced Dr. Conrow's 3D imaging of my jaw after having a tooth extracted 5 months ago in preparation for my first implant. While viewing this amazing technology he explained that I had enough new bone growth to make the new implant successful. His tech made a mold of my lower jaw, a follow up appointment was made and I was happily out of there in less than 30 minutes. Dr. Conrow charged me $200 for a consultation that another dentist provided for free. He quoted me $7,000 for a procedure that five other dentists quoted for half the price. When I said I was concerned about the price, he and his staff simply pressured me into making the decision. Doctor Craig Conrow is the absolute best dentist that has repaired & kept my dental requirements under complete control . I travel extensively and don't always have the time to keep up with my dental needs . Had a recent procedure preformed and Doctor Conrow called me the next evening to see how I was recovering , all was PERFECT!! No issues. His staff rounds out a COMPLETE DENTAL office. Despite his credentials I found Dr. Conrow to be unresponsive, misleading in his communications and unprofessional in his comments regarding other dental professionals. I acknowledge his technical skills but there is so much more required from a medical professional that works with you when you are extremely vulnerable and paying top dollar. My wife and I recently read Dr. Conrow's reviews and were surprised to see that there are only two kinds of reviews -- one star and five stars. It seems there must be two dentists practicing under the same name. Dr. Conrow has be responsible for our dental care for the last five years, and we have found him to be a five-star dentist at all times. He is an extremely well educated practitioner who stays on the leading edge of dental technology and has always been very professional in his dealings with us. At no time have we felt like we were getting a hard sell, although Dr. Conrow will not hesitate to recommend corrective treatment if he thinks it is needed or, if appropriate, to make a referral to another specialist. In either event, he always goes to great lengths to provide us with a thorough explanation of his diagnosis and recommended treatment. We are grateful to have a patient relationship with Dr. Conrow. I've been going to Dr. Conrow for almost a year now. I needed extensive work including 4 implants. We just finished all the work and I have to say my teeth have never looked this gorgeous. Dr. Conrow is a skilled dentist who went to any lengths to insure the proper health of my mouth. His staff are professional and quite pleasant. This was probably the worse dentist experience I have ever had in my life. Not only was the staff rude and unfriendly..but the doctor was EXTREMELY awkward and made me feel so uncomfortable and self conscious of my smile. I went in for a routine teeth cleaning, I have never been to this dentist before but figured I would give them a try after my mom went in and had a good visit. Besides having to wait for 15 minutes before anybody checked me in (my apt was at 8:00, I was the first of the day) it seemed like a nice clean offices. I then went in to get an x ray and my teeth cleaned..went fine. Then when the doctor came in to check everything out he proceeded to tell me that he could fix my smile and fix a very small hardly visible chip in my tooth. I had braces for 6 years, and have been told my teeth are nothing beaut beautiful. So for him to say anything about them was very uncool. Not only will I not be returning to this office but I will be advising friends and family to do the same. read more

Some people may think he's great and, technically, he may be. Over several months, I came to realize that Dr. Conrow is not nearly as good as he thinks he is. I choose him because he went to Univ. of the Pacific, one of the best dental schools. I found that pretty much only his opinion matters regarding color, shape, etc. I had to sign one of his forms saying I approved the teeth he was completing, so he must have had a problem with this type of thing in the past. He wouldn't take an edge off one false tooth saying, "everyone bites their tongue sometimes, even me." But did his bleed for 15 minutes? I find that bizarre. Don't annoy him with too many complaints of discomfort or he may show you what discomfort is. At one appointment wherein he demonstrated, twice, why the area hurt, I did not return and future needs will be handled by another dentist. But if you want to hear some extreme right wing political opinions, by all means, see this guy. He expresses those thoughts freely. read more

I believe Dr. Conrow's work is top notch. I've been a patient for approximately 7 years. I've had all of my VERY old defective amalgam dental work replaced by him over the last few years. My teeth are no longer sensitive, they feel strong and look great. Dr. Conrow took care and time with each of my replacements. He refuses any standard short of perfection. I was researching the Dentists in the Valley for the type of services provided and the advanced training this field of expertise required. After reviewing my options, I selected Dr. Conrow and set up an appointment. I had explained my fear of Dentistry that went back to my experience in the military. I liked him immediately and after my examination, he explained completely how my treatment would proceed and what to expect. He assured me that his team, which included other local Dentists in associated fields of Dentistry needed for the my overall procedures, were very considerate of patients like me with a built up fear of the Dentist. Every aspect of my plan was explained and everyone on his staff have been very helpful and pleasant to deal with and I can actually say I look forward to my appointments. Originally went to Dr Conrow for cosmetic work and I was referred by his former office. Good work was done. Then I used his hygienist for eight year. She was great. I have met her husband and they are fine people. So the other day I called to make an appt to see her and was told she left and they did not know where she was. This is a small town, after all, and I found her just down the street. She told me Conrow knows exactly where she is but refuses to tell her patients. So here is Conrow: he got me as a referral from his former office but now refuses to make a referral to his hygienist. Ironic isn't it? I conclude he is a one way street: if money is coming to him that is fine but if money is going elsewhere it is not fine. Two years ago he looked in on me while I was getting a cleaning and said, "Those are pretty good looking veneers. Who did them?" He had not bothered to look at my chart and see that he did them. Eric's review is dead on! I scheduled an appointment for my daughter for a routine teeth cleaning. Nothing was mentioned at time of scheduling appointment that they do not bill insurance directly. She had her teeth cleaned, had lots of X-Rays, and was given lots of advice on "work" she needed to have done. She's 22, has had braces, and has beautiful teeth. How much work could she need?? She left and called me telling me what a horrible experience it was. After the office manager finally billed my insurance a whopping $ 531.00 for a ROUTINE teeth cleaning I was still supposed to pay $ 66.00. It was more than $ 66.00, but when i called to question the charges the office manager said they "double billed the insurance" and took off $ 127.00. I wrote a letter to Dr. Conrow to discuss this situation in May. I still owe the $ 66.00 and don't want my daughter sent to collections. I received a call from Dr. Conrow today ( in August ) and he tried to explain what his office staff had done. He also said his partner Dr. Crowley was actually the Dentist my daughter saw.... either way... STAY AWAY FROM THIS PLACE!!! read more

One of my front teeth broke Sunday afternoon. I thought I was lucky when I got an appointment after fully explaining my situation to whomever took my call. I was greeted very nicely and even got a goody bag. The staff seemed very friendly. I spent a total of 70 minutes in that office.Dr. Conrow came in after I had 1 x-ray taken of the broken front tooth in my mouth. He stated that it was barely hanging on. He then went on about all that was wrong with my teeth and how it would cost as much as a new car to get everything done to where I would have good teeth. I failed to ask if it was a Nissan Versa or a Tesla. In short, after all this and me taking off 2 hours from work, my broken tooth wasn't fixed. Even though Dr. Conrow made the statement about it barely hanging on, it wasn't important enough for him to take care of it then. He said "no time, we're talking" and had the staff make an appointment for tomorrow. I pay for my dental insurance via my employer and it is Delta Dental. He had nothing good to say about Delta Dental and told me to just put my money in the bank and name that account "dental account". To add insult to injury Dr. Conrow charged me $74. When I asked the lady in the front what my insurance covers her answer was "50%" . 50% of what? I asked and she responds with 50%. So Dr Conrow gets $74 from me, $74 from Delta Dental...not bad for less than an hour of not fixing my problem. If you think that's ok then by all means go give your money to a well dressed crook. For all of you that make an earnest living, I do not recommend you waste your time here. I will contact Delta Dental next and let them know what happened here today. After reading some of the reviews on Yelp, I see that I am not the first person that was treated this way. Seems to be the norm of this practice. read more
