Craig is Amazing. Went there since my low tire like went on. I'm recovering from a knee replacement, and can't fill the tires. Asked if I could pay them to fill. Craig said he'll do it free. Three tires were great but one had a nail it. Craig fixed it assured me it's good for the highway. He was so fast I made to make Doctors appt in Maywood with time to spare! I highly recommend Craig's Auto Service Center for anything repairs or maintenance you may need. My secondary office for my employer is in Lisle and it was my first drive to that office in nearly 4 years and I reside about 30 minutes away. As I got off the highway, the tie-rod to my 2006 Chevy detached from the tire and skidded in the road and not being from the area, I immediately Googled the closest and highest rated auto mechanic and Craig's shop was first on the list. I called at 7:15am, and Craig answered, and said he would take a look and referred a tow company if I needed it (which my insurance carrier took care of and was on the way). After the tow came at about 9:30am, I called Craig and he said the tow had just dropped it off and will call me later with his assessment. By 10:30am, Craig called back and said he would replace the tie-rod to get me back home safely and suggested that I have a mechanic from my own area examine any additional work that is going to be required (ball joints, alignment, etc.) Craig said he would have it back to me by the afternoon, which was then completed by 1:30pm, and I made it back home safely. Two days later, I received a text from an unknown number on my cell phone and it was Craig, asking how everything went on my 2006 Chevy and if I made it home safely. I was truly amazed and said to myself, "That's pretty f'n awesome that he did that". I don't know Craig and I'm not from the area, but I HIGHLY recommend using him. read more

It is unfortunate that I have to write is review, because Craig is a really nice guy but I must go on the service I received on my 2002 Jeep Grand Cherokee. While the customer service was ok, I am very disappointed in the they ripped me off on parts. I brought my car in for heater problems, They explained that my blower resistor had gone bad which from my own research i figured as much. Here is where the problem comes in, they charged me $155 for a new Blower motor resistor and another $50 for blower motor resistor connector. I am not a car guy so I try to trust mechanics especially ones that have 5 stars on Yelp, but when i came home to do some research I found that those same blower motor resistors were $50 which means I was overcharged by $100. I called back and questioned why they were so much and they explained that it was because I had automatic heat and A/C so it was actually a module I bought. So again I did research and i found the same Blower motor resistors w auto controls in the range of $50-$70, which tells me i was still way over charged. This is my first time writing a review, I will not every do business with this company again, in my opinion they don't have the customers best interest at heart and will buy the most expensive parts they can find. We trust Craig's Auto Service with both our cars. They are very good at communicating, they check a number of other items during oil changes, rotate tires and notify you if any additional work needs done now or needs done soon. They always call prior to doing any additional work. They've done great work for oil changes, brake pads and rotors, patched tires and exhaust work. Craig's is located at a BP station, so it's also really great that you can drop off and pick up and pay for your car 24/7. read more

Was at the gas station this morning and my dog locked himself in the car while I was pumping gas. I immediately panicked and ran inside, unnecessarily frantic. The woman in the front was so kind, let me come in the back and use the phone and was also trying to tell me it was OK! I probably looked insane, in all fairness. They let me use their phone then Kevin, one of the staff at the Auto Service Center, came out with a bag of tools and helped pry open my door. In all, it took 15 minutes and they saved me from calling a locksmith. It was a busy rush hour morning but everyone I dealt with was so kind when I was being a hot mess. I have lived in Lisle since 1980 and finally have knowledge of a garage that does honest work at a fair price. A far cry from the Midas the put a hole in my rack-and-pinion system, the Merlin that did a brake job that somehow made my brakes worse, and the place on Ogden near Pete & Johnnys that supposedly tuned my car only to have me have every other place that looks at it tell me it's never had a tune-up... and at less than half the price of the dealership. I wish that places like those would learn what Craig's Amoco knows: Treat a customer fairly. Just once. And they'll come back. I will only use Craig's Amoco from here on out. We have used them to work on our cars, and to do a used car pre-purchase inspection. We always feel that we have been treated honestly and fairly. They don't "create" work that doesn't need to be done just because they can - example: we brought a car in to have spark plugs checked and were told that they did not yet need to be replaced. Estimates have always been spot-on and in one case the total was slightly lower (maybe only $10, but something is better than nothing!) read more

They are specific with what's going on with our cars and always give the option of what needs to be done and cost prior to doing anything. Craig's Auto has been our auto shop for 15 years -- everything from domestic cars to imports. In addition to doing all of the regular maintenance work at Craig's (oil changes, tires, etc.) we have used Craig's for minor and major repairs. We are ALWAYS pleased with the results. Who staff is wonderful, friendly, knowledgeable and very accommodating. They do offer courtesy rides to the Lisle Metra train station (and pick-ups too just coordinate ahead of time). We have been going to Craig's for several years. They always offer to give us rides and are very nice. Being a mechanic can be hard because it is often a process to figure out what is wrong. Craig and his team always keep us notified and on top of what's going on with our car. Today, we tried to jump start our car (our daughter left the light on for 4 days!) It didn't work with a regular jump so we called to ask about a warranty for a battery. Kerry answered and said he didn't want me to have to pay for a tow. He spoke with Craig and they sent someone to our house to charge our battery. They didn't even charge us for this, but of course we gave the guy a tip. I completely recommend this place.
