This place is beyond shady. My mom brought my car in after they quoted her $580 for the job. I already had another shop offer to do the entire repair, parts and labor included, for $550 total. That's fair -- this shop was not. When I went to pick up my car, I saw they were charging $589 for the part alone. I asked if it was OEM, and the manager flat-out told me, "They don't have OEM for this car." That's simply false -- they absolutely do. When I pressed further and asked to see proof, he got irritated. At first, he didn't want to show me the part details or receipt. Only after I insisted did he reluctantly show me the box. From there, I looked it up myself and found it sold online for $332.99. To make it worse, there were plenty of other options available for barely over $100. When I confronted him with that info, he basically admitted it but hid behind excuses like "we have to make money on the parts" and "taxes." I get it's a buisness but a 229 dollar up charge that's after taxes is kind of ridiculous and mind you if I paid I would've had no clue the stuff he was trying to pull I think it was the shops attempt to show that there labor cost of 200 dollars is low by tagging it onto the part instead but this is downright wrong and misleading. Then they added $124 for an A/C recharge -- something my brother has done for me at home before with nothing more than a can of refrigerant. When my mom called to challenge it, they magically dropped $100 off, which shows how fake and inflated that charge was to begin with. The dishonesty here is crystal clear: * They quoted my mom a low number to get her in the door, then padded the bill. * They lied about OEM availability. * They marked up the part by over $220 and tried to hide the real cost. * They slapped on an overblown charge for a simple service, then reduced it instantly once pushed. Will never do business here again these men are liars and Scum, The other worker also said he told the manager the same thing to call my mom before doing the job but he instead just did it and charged his fees terrible experience Never come here. If you're looking for a shady mechanic, then this is your place. I'm not sure if they are completely incompetent, corrupt or both. I am leaning towards both. I requested a straightforward brake job, a service I've had performed numerous times without issue. However, they completed the work on the wrong axle. When I brought this to their attention, rather than acknowledging the mistake, I was met with evasive answers and dishonesty. I find it completely unacceptable to be misled and treated in a manner that suggests an attempt to take advantage of me. read more

Went to Oil Zone because my AC was blowing hot. The first replacement compressor was bad, but these guys made good on it. They replaced the compressor when I brought back the original within the warranty period, and replaced the compressor at no charge. Chad did a great job, and cares about doing good work on the cars he is working on. Mike made sure everything worked & covered the warranty. AC blows cold now. I'll come back here again. Good evening, All! Our experience at Oil Zone/ Wash Zone was fantastic. I lived in Naperville years ago, and I remembered the kindness and professionalism of the team there. When I moved back to Naperville, my fiance needed an oil change. I definitely recommended that he go there. He did, and he absolutely confirmed my opinion. We went together to get my oil changed today, and it was refreshing to have that same service and friendliness again after many years of being away. I've read some of the reviews on this, and I have to agree that the waiting room is not glamorous. Ok, so what? My goal is to get an oil change. Period. Their technical expertise and reasonable pricing surpass any need for luxury. Get me in and out and don't try to sell me blinker fluid. Done deal. I don't go to Nordstrom for an oil change. I don't go to get my oil changed to look for problems in the waiting room or mask sporting. If the mask wearing or lack thereof is a big problem, you can always say something at that time. There's an entrance and an exit. Customer service is a choice on both sides. You can drive in, and you can also drive out. Needed brakes, and an oil change. Dealership would only schedule appointments when I needed my brakes replaced. Scheduled for two weeks out. Turns out my brakes turned bad really fast all of a sudden I couldn't make it to my appointment. Dealership said they wouldn't be able to help today because they were booked up. Dirty, slow, incompetent and expensive. I tried this place once and never again. The waiting room was filthy, a simple oil change with no one waiting took forever, and he charged a fortune. After multiple attempts and searching for YouTube videos, the owner himself couldn't even figure out how to reset the oil change notification system on my car (which took me less than a minute to do myself when I looked in the owners manual after I left.) There are lots of better options for oil changes and auto service. It's no wonder I was the only one there. read more

Where do I start, a sign for an oil change marked $19.99 only to get in & find out its only when you purchase the $8 carwash so that makes it $28 plus tax, etc..you're walking out $32+. While waiting for my oil change, a kid comes over to explain to a woman that her 2012 car's oil is black & it requires an engine cleaner at $40, she asks "what causes this?" The kids says "idk old car, late on oil changes, a number of things, not just the light coming on" i said "why don't you wait & have your husband check it out" all the sudden a fat parted in the middle meathead comes around the corner and shouts that i need new tires, i state i know, & that i don't drive the car much & wasn't looking to replace tires today. He assumed i was telling his customers they didn't need work, & shouted to his other employee's "he doesn't need tires, its his moms car" ha good one btw, i haven't been burned like that since 5th grade recess...regardless i wasn't impressed w/ his moronic mentality & his chest puffing antics to stick around and throw "your mama" insults w/ old man monkey wrench...i had to get home mom was waiting for her afternoon tea & rueben sandwich. Today I brought my new-to-me car to Oil Zone, and I brought a list of items to have replaced, on the recommendation of a car-knowledgeable friend, including multiple fluids, air filters, wiper blades, etc. I handed off the list to the staff and asked them to go to it. As they worked, they came to me several times to show me fluid samples and air filters and let me know that they were in excellent shape and did not need to be replaced. They could have replaced everything on the list and charged me for all of it; instead, they were honest and up-front with me and only changed what needed changing and made sure I knew what my options were so that I could approve all the work. I felt very respected and well-served. (Note: I wrote this in September and tried to post it; just realized my Yelp account didn't activate at the time. Dishonest. In my car, the oil filter is on top of the engine and accessed from under the hood (not underneath the car like most), so I was able to see that the mechanic did not remove the engine cover or change the filter. After he closed the hood and pronounced the job done, I confronted him and the owner, who made excuses! Only after asserting myself was I able to get a new filter installed. Clearly, this is a dishonest business with no concern for its customers' satisfaction or safety. I have to assume they are scamming all their customers by charging for components they have not actually installed. Maybe their oil isn't even what it's claimed to be. I suggest avoiding this place. This service is less then five stars to me. My engine light was on. A diagnostic test indicates a fault in my 02 sensor. These were replaced by this company. I paid $447.00, my engine light would not go off. I returned my car to be looked at again. The owner did not know what the problem was. A second diagnostic test indicate 02 sensors again. This company did not fix my car. I had to take my car to another auto shop. Pay another $500.00 to redo the work I paid this company to do. The 02 sensors the owner installed, did not work. I hate that my first review on Yelp is a negative one but I feel others need to be warned of this place. Like BIG RED FLAG warning! My girlfriend warned me how they advertised $19.99 for an oil change but will charge you extra for things like filling fluids and tires which is part of standard service in other oil places. When it started snowing, ahe went to use the washer fluid and nothing came out. We paid for them to fill the washer fluid. I thought the line was frozen. After checking the fluid under the hood, the washer fluid container looked empty which was odd since we just had it filled by this place. Good thing I had an extra bottle in my garage so I filled it. I had to use my entire bottle because the container was bone dry. I even went to check to see if there was a leak after filling and no leak. So this place scammed us for washer fluid. The check engine light went on a little bit after the oil change. I didnt think much of it but the car started to get worse after a couple of weeks. The RPM would be erratic. Since the check engine light was on, I took to Autozone to get the code red. It said it was an O2 sensor gone bad. I had my friend who is a service manager replace the O2 sensor for me. I talked to him hoping the sensor would fix the O2 sensor. He said it should along with them closing the air filter box properly. He said that since it was open on one side, too much air was getting in basically choking the engine. Makes me wonder if this oil change olace even replaced the air filter since they charged us or if they rigged the box open hoping that my gf would take the car back to them to fix the issue. Overall, very dishonest shop and DO NOT recommend this place at all! read more

I have been going to this place for basic auto services for the past few years and up until now the service has been decent. I went today to have my oil changed and was shocked to see that most employees and the owner were not wearing masks. An employee actually got into my car without wearing a mask. The owner came in to the waiting area and did not even have a mask with him. I think it is important for people who may be visiting this business to be aware that Covid-19 guidelines are not being followed here. read more

This is a great place to get your oil changed! They are honest, priced right and do not try to sell you things you don't need. I really like the fact that the owner is on site, everyone is polite and they treat customers with respect. Their prices are really very good. They are not the cheapest but you never want that, trust me. I put more than 40,000 miles on my car a year. I've easily been to more than 3 dozen oil change places and only a few have come close to this place. They also treat women very fairly here! Nothing makes me more angry than when an oil change place tries to upsell a woman with unnecessary filters or telling her she has to use synthetic oil because she doesn't know a lot about cars. If I see that I never go back to that place again. I have never witnessed anything like that here. The inside is a little different. They have old couches a wrought iron table with chairs and lots of knick knacks but it gives the place some character. This isn't some fake endorsement. I never knew this place or anyone affiliated with it before I came here the first time. I am starting to get to know the people because they are nice and honest and I get my oil changed more than most people but I have no affiliation with this place other than I'm a very satisfied customer. Do not take your vehicle to this unethical business! I am a social worker and my client brought her car here because she thought her brakes were feeling odd. They took a look and said normally we charge you to take a more close look but we will give this to you for free. Lo & behold, they tell her she must get new brakes & it isn't safe to drive her car. Luckily our organization has a wonderful mechanic in Naperville we know & trust. We had her bring her car there the next morning. Not only is nothing wrong with her brakes but she has a lot more life in them & won't need them replaced for some time. My client is a younger single mom on an incredibly fixed income & she is finishing her bachelor's degree. She doesn't have money to throw away. This company scared her. She called me in a panic thinking she couldn't even leave without getting her brakes replaced. We've shared this information throughout our organization to have everyone avoid this dodgy business! This place is great if you want below average customer service, have unlimited time, an unlimited budget, and you don't actually care whether your vehicle gets repaired. THE GOOD: When my car was smoking today, the owner drove a little over a mile to my location to diagnose the problem himself. THE BAD: He estimated the fix would be about 2.5 hours, it ended up being closer to 4. He also estimated the repair at $300, but my bill was over $400. This has also happened to me previously here with an oil change, for which I was expecting to pay $19.99 (plus the $8 car wash the other reviewers have noted), but ended up with a bill over $70 without my consent. THE UGLY: Though they fixed the immediate problem of my car smoking, they made the overheating problem worse and I left with issues of accelerating that I didn't have before. When I took it to a different garage the following day, they showed me that I was charged for services--like filling coolant--which never actually happened. Tried this place for the first time today. Went with the 19.99 oil change with the purchase of a $8 car wash. Also rotated the tires for $25. They completed the service in 1/2 hour and didn't try to up sell me on any additional services. I also thought the car wash was decent for the price and they have someone to dry the car following the wash. I've been going to these guys off and on for several years now since owning a Jeep Wrangler and now a Chevy Traverse. They've been excellent. I live in Chicago now and still make a point when I can to try to adjust my schedule to have them do oil changes and light maintenance. The prices are reasonable and the work is quality. Plus they're just plain cool guys. I'm certainly not a gear head and they are always clear when I ask about a service or, if based on mileage, they ask whether I might be interested in a given service. Of course they explain it in detail without any pressure to buy. But I trust them now so if I don't do the service at that time I usually do it in the next one or two oil changes. Additionally, for work they don't do they have referred me twice to other places and each time has been a great experience once for tire work and another for transmission with my jeep. Hands down I recommend this Oil Zone to anyone looking for oil changes, light maintenance, and referrals. Good people and great work. read more

Oil changes and car washes they do a great job. If your car needs repairs go somewhere else. Took my son's car there to get the driver's side window repaired, at the cost of $358.00. Then had to pay another $206.00 to get the passenger's side window repaired , which was working just fine until they had to take it apart to figure out how to put the driver's side door back together. The owner gave me "a discount", sorry but I don't consider it a discount when I have to pay to fix something that was not broken when taken into the shop. If unqualified to repair a certain make of car a good business would tell you, so you could take the car to a shop that can put one side together without having to take the other side apart. My car nor my son's car will not ever go there again not even for an oil change! Rather pay more to have people who know what they are doing! read more
