Chicken pot pie and BBQ chicken sandwich
    Emma O.

Absolutely delicious food! Stopped in for lunch and this place is a 10/10. Great portion sizes for a fantastic price (especially in door county). Owner runs business himself and is incredibly friendly. I had the chicken pot pie on biscuits and my boyfriend had the BBQ chicken biscuit sandwiches and both were phenomenal. Only 9-12 dollars for sandwiches and salad/chips. Best southern comfort i've had in the north! Check out his wife's store in Baileys Harbor called House of Crain! Super cute fabric store with high quality fabrics from the middle east for great prices!

Located in Sister Bay just next to and down from On Deck, this is an amazing spot to grab breakfast or lunch. We started with the biscuit basket which had some great strawberry preserves and the biscuits had the perfect blend of crisp exterior and buttery soft interior. Things got even better with the addition of sausage gravy as well as when the biscuits were used for a chicken pot pie dish. Rounding things out with a breakfast sandwich with soft scrambled eggs and delicious ham and don't miss out on the hash browns which are freshly shredded and crisp. We will be sure this is a destination every time in Door County.

What a great cup of coffee! Staff and owner were wonderful, so friendly and welcoming. Everything was fully explained. What a treat the breakfast sandwich was. The biscuits melted in your mouth and the taste left you wanting for more. A great find! We also sampled the sweet potato gluten free and they were just as good.

Biscuit basket with homemade strawberry jam and butter

This restaurant was a wonderful surprise! Everything is homemade, superrrr fresh ingredients. Light biscuits. Perfect jam. Try the green chili or the pot pie for a filling, homemade lunch that is so affordable! The biscuit basket is super yummy too.

I really enjoyed this restaurant! I was looking for a small cafe with sandwiches and I found this one! I enjoyed the sandwich soup combo and was happy with my choices! I had a the chicken farro soup with a pulled pork biscuit. It was delicious and you could tell the biscuits were made from scratch! I didn't try the GF option but they do offer it and recommend you give this restaurant a try! The owner is friendly and accommodating and wants to ensure you have a great experience!

Pozole, gone too soon and delicious tomato soup

Just had a delicious soup lunch while waking through Suster Bay! What a cute and perfect addition to the Door County food scene. We enjoyed pozole, tomato soup and the home made biscuits! (Tip: order an extra biscuit; ours were gone in a flash).

Wow! The most difficult decision I made today was deciding what to order from Crain's Kitchen. So many delicious sounding options. The pulled pork was amazing and served on a freshly made biscuit sent it over the top. The watermelon salad was full of flavor! Friendly staff and a feel good vibe. I'll be back soon

    Green Chili soup

Excellent pozole with complex flavors served with a side biscuit. Can't wait to try other soups and green chili as the weather turns cooler.

This place gets super busy on Memorial Day weekend but they do a great job ensuring that they are fully staffed and can churn out food and drinks quickly. We ordered the 8 ounce New York strip plus CHOP steak salad (but make it Caesar). We both got cups of soup (lobster and crab bisque or garlic potato) which were incredible. Paired with a delicious cherry sour and an old fashioned. Exactly what we wanted after a good day of exploring. Make sure to go between 4:30 PM - 5:30 PM to get their $34.95 three course dinner special (soup or salad, main, and dessert).

Had I arrived any later, I would have had to wait for a table, which would have been terrible. There is no good space to sit and wait for a table; the bar is tiny; the bar abuts the front door, and is consequently very cold in winter; the tiny, cold bar is filled with patrons standing around waiting for a table. My darling wife and I were seated in the second floor dining room. The room was clean, and the atmosphere was decent... when the room was at-and-below 25% capacity. As the room began to fill, which didn't take long, it also didn't take long to realize that the layout of tables was poor. My table was far too close to the other tables; every table was too close to other tables. There is also no barrier in between tables. So, a large room, crammed with tables, each of which is too close to the other tables. Not great at all. And, thanks to the cramped quarters, I could smell the vile cheese smells from other diner's dishes which wrecked my experience. We ordered crab cakes. They were crispy outside, and the crab filling was moist, but there was so little lemon-garlic aioli that the cakes were rather bland. Furthermore, there were only two crab cakes serves, each of which was rather small. Drink orders placed with the waitress took a very long time to reach the table. The brandy old fashioned (sweet) that I ordered was not sweet at all and there was an overpowering amount of orange. A failure of this sort should not happen at a Wisconsin fine-dining establishment. The house Chop Salad was boring; a bunch of iceberg lettuce, too finely chopped, covered in ranch dressing, and lackluster bacon. My wife's filet mignon steak was appropriately prepared. The crispy duck, which I ordered, was served with a delicious cherry sauce but there was far too little sauce on the plate. The duck itself, when not coupled with any sauce, was rather boring. Also terribly boring was the bed of wild rice served with the duck. Why did you give me the duck's food? Feed that stuff to the duck and let me eat the bird served with a better side dish! Service was too slow and inattentive for my tastes. Every server looked like they were born in a foreign land, and I struggled to understand my waitress's English-as-a-second language. I don't need to go back. There is better dining available in Door County, especially given the prices asked.

The staff was warm and welcoming from the moment we walked in. We ordered three dishes: the Norwegian herb-encrusted salmon over grilled root vegetables and quinoa, a New Orleans pasta with chicken, and a pistachio chicken open sandwich. Each one delivered. The salmon dish stood out for its char on the root vegetables and the quinoa, which had real texture and flavor. The dressing brought everything together in a way that felt considered, not just functional. The pistachio chicken sandwich was the sleeper hit. The chicken itself was exceptional, and it came paired with kettle chips that were better than any side chips have a right to be. The view of the water made the whole meal feel unhurried and easy, the kind of setting that makes food taste even better. Great food, attentive service, and a view that earns its mention. A complete experience.

I ordered the Veggie Wrap and my wife had then Asparagus Quesadilla. The restaurant wasn't too crowded and the food showed up pretty quickly. The guacamole and dill dressing gave it a really nice flavor. My wife was happy with her Asparagus Quesadilla, it was full of flame roasted peppers, onions, tomatoes, asparagus, corn, black beans, wild rice, farmers cheese & spinach. It came with salsa & sour cream and she add guacamole. The server was very polite and service was quick. The restaurant sits on the shores of Ephraim harbor, perfect location for a meal or drinks.
