The Black Angus burgers were juicy and flavorful, paired perfectly with crispy French fries--simple but sumptuous comfort food. We first considered sitting by the windows since the sunlight made it feel so pleasant, but the bees were a bit too friendly, so we opted for the other side. That area was a little darker and noisier since it was closer to the kitchen, bathrooms, and a group of energetic kids in the back. Still, it didn't ruin the experience--the whole atmosphere felt like families and friends just enjoying good food together. If I had one small wish, it would be for the burger patty to be a little thicker, but overall, it was delicious and satisfying. On our first evening in Sister Bay we were ready to relax after a day shopping in a nearby town, so we decided on takeout. The burger I chose is called Death's Door and was pretty good. I'm glad they weren't kidding about the spice level because I've been let down before on one that was described as spicy but not. Be sure to ask for the correct doneness because I forgot to do so and it was slightly pink, which isn't my preference. There's not a lot of parking here--about half a dozen spaces or so--so you'd be relying on street parking, or of course walking if you're staying nearby. read more

On a warm October day we visited Door County to enjoy the fall colors. Being a Monday we found many restaurants closed and luckily found Grasse's open. Stopped here early in the week after a full day of charter fishing in the sun...we were tired, sunburned and wanted a place to eat dinner where we knew no one would care that we looked a little less than stellar lol! Staff was friendly and the entire menu sounded delicious so it was difficult to decide, but I settled on the southwest salad w/veggie burger & recommended southwest ranch dressing and my husband ordered the cave point club wrap. Both of our meals were absolutely delicious and fresh. We actually didn't speak to one another during our dinner at all because we were too busy chewing and enjoying. There is both indoor and outdoor seating; you order at a counter, take a number and staff delivers your food to your chosen table location. We stopped at Grasse's for a quick lunch in Door County. We thought it was a sit down restaurant but learned it's more like a Panera. You order at the counter and then they bring you the meal. I got the cave point wrap and thought it was delicious! It was super flavorful and I loved the herbed aioli. My fiancé, David, doesn't even like guacamole and he really enjoyed this wrap! My only critique would be the ends of the wrap were all tortilla so my last few bites of each side were just tortilla. David got the loaded Mac and cheese. They did not skimp on the portion!! It was also very yummy but super rich. I wish he would have gotten it with the tomatoes because I think that would have helped cut the richness. However it was still good and I loved the addition of the bacon. If you are ever looking for a lunch spot in Sister Bay, definitely check out Grasse's! read more

We absolutely loved this neighborhood sandwich shop with a retro feel. The café was cozy and had ample seating both indoors and outdoors. We tried the patty melt and whitefish Ruben with home fries which were all made to order, fresh and delicious! The café offered a variety of burgers, sandwiches and wraps which are all unique in taste and preparation. The friendly service and flawless lunch had a going back for more! Glad we got here early on a Friday evening since by the time we left around 6:30pm it was pretty crowded despite it being "off season". We ordered quickly at the counter and then grabbed a table inside (good thing since it started to rain soon after we arrived). After a relatively short wait our food was delivered to the table. After eyeballing a green chicken salad wrap at Costco and ultimately saying no to it. I said "yes" to Grasse's cherry chicken wrap and did not regret. It's super flavorful. Balanced sweet, salty, and tangy so well. It came with fresh fries and I opted for water for my drink. My husband took a bite and asked to trade meals. I devoured the whole thing. I couldn't resist. The wrap wasn't over filled and the filling wasn't watery. You know how some fillings has the liquid rub down your arm. It didn't happen here. From the cashiers to the person who brought food to our table, everyone was so pleasant. The food is not overpriced like some tourist traps. The establishment is so quaint. I cheated on being a vegetarian just to eat the potato bacon soup and I have no regrets (aka I was CRAVING soup on a chilly day in Door County and I saw Grasse's soup of the day sign and caved). The consistency of this soup was perfect, not too watery and very hearty. The staff was also very kind and asked us how our food was and how we were enjoying our stay in Door County.
