About one year and half ago I bought a Trustmade e bike from powerhouse for $1,000. About three months ago the bike stopped working. I was unable to power the bike. I called Powerhouse and told them about the problem. I was more than happy to pay for the repair. They informed me that there was nothing they could do. They said I would have to contact the manufacturer, order the part that needed replacing and take it to a shop that does repairs to fix it. Basically it was my problem to deal with. I emailed the manufacturer numerous times. I got no response. I tried calling them at various numbers I found on the internet and I couldn't get a hold of anyone. I left messages and no one responded. So I basically bought a bike for $1,000 that lasted 18 months. Like I said the staff were friendly and the price was reasonable. But in retrospect I should have bought the bike from a store that offers some kind of support and help when things go wrong. If you buy a bike from here just know that if anything goes wrong you're on your own.

I remained calm and respectful, yet I was treated incredibly poorly. Based on my experience with the service, parts, and customer treatment, I would not recommend this bike shop to anyone. Customers deserve honesty, quality work, and basic respect. I sincerely hope no one else has to experience the kind of treatment I received. Disappointing support from MURF Electric Bikes…read more I am writing this review to share my deeply disappointing experience regarding a premature battery failure on my MURF Electric Bikes e-bike. The bike has only 800 total miles on it and is just 3 months past the standard warranty expiration. For a component as critical and expensive as an e-bike battery, failing after only 800 miles points to a clear manufacturing defect or a faulty Battery Management System (BMS). When the battery stopped working, I took it to an independent local bike shop and spent $50 out of pocket to have it professionally diagnosed. Their conclusion was clear: the battery itself was defective, and my best bet was to take it directly back to the manufacturer, MURF Electric Bikes, at their San Clemente showroom where I originally purchased it. When I reached out to MURF Electric Bikes support, the initial response was highly disappointing. Adhering strictly to the calendar date rather than the incredibly low mileage, they initially only offered a 25% discount on a brand-new replacement battery. After a great deal of back-and-forth and pushback on my part regarding reasonable product lifespan expectations, they finally adjusted their offer to $550 plus tax for a replacement. While I appreciate that they eventually moved on the price, requiring a customer to spend over $550 out of pocket to fix a premium e-bike with only 800 miles on the odometer is unacceptable. A quality lithium-ion battery should easily last several thousand miles. Prospective buyers looking into MURF Electric Bikes should be aware that if a major component fails shortly after the warranty date--even with very minimal use--you may be left holding a significant bill for a replacement.

Small details like the headlamp is good quality, nice comfortable handlebar grips and seat The rear luggage rack is welded to the frame vs. an add-on with fasteners The battery has huge range and speed MURF does a good job managing all the wires associated with an e-bike. But I came across Swell Bikes after I returned my Epic bike (right down the street) and I was blown away. The bike is sturdy, reliable, fast, and just looked great. After speaking to Troy (the owner), I was convinced that this is the bike I've been looking for. I took a week to think it over (scared from past experience) but made the decision to purchase it and I couldn't be happier. My bf and I picked it up and rode from San Clemente to Ladera Ranch which was a long but a great ride. I can't wait to ride it again.
