Helped me with my etrike after Pedago in Dana Point broke the derailer and failed to change worn brake pads.

I was reluctant to post this review because the staff was friendly and the process on the evokes are reasonable. About one year and half ago I bought a Trustmade e bike from powerhouse for $1,000. About three months ago the bike stopped working. I was unable to power the bike. I called Powerhouse and told them about the problem. I was more than happy to pay for the repair. They informed me that there was nothing they could do. They said I would have to contact the manufacturer, order the part that needed replacing and take it to a shop that does repairs to fix it. Basically it was my problem to deal with. I emailed the manufacturer numerous times. I got no response. I tried calling them at various numbers I found on the internet and I couldn't get a hold of anyone. I left messages and no one responded. So I basically bought a bike for $1,000 that lasted 18 months. Like I said the staff were friendly and the price was reasonable. But in retrospect I should have bought the bike from a store that offers some kind of support and help when things go wrong. If you buy a bike from here just know that if anything goes wrong you're on your own. read more

I Came in on a sunday a month ago to get my brakes replaced and the guy working the counter on the phone told me it 2 different prices so i came in to drop of my bike and i asked him for the total and gave me a different price in parcen so i knew i had a bad feeling dropping of my bike so on Wednesday i call at noon to see if it was ready and the other guy answers the phone and tells me the that the guy that was there is out of town ?? then i call back around 4 ish and his there i ask him is my bike ready and tells me no it shoud be ready buy Thursday or Friday so same thing on thursday i call again same thing his out of town so i go pick up the bike on Thursday befor day closed i go pick up my bike and the price changed from 400 to 300 and he did a horrible job with my bike the front hose wasnt Aline like he put the rear one in the front the cables were put back all sloppy like he did it in the last second and he returnd my old brake system and he cut the hose instead of unscrewing it so know i cant use my old brake system if i need a spear Dont come here your better of goin somewere els day have yung lazy kids working here that dont know how to do nothing then i asked how much are the spear disk pads and gave me a price of 30 then he tells me he needs to call the owner to ask for the price avoid this place read more

I had them assemble my new e-trike. We set up a time and right on time they picked up the e-trike assembled it at their store and returned the it to my home in one afternoon . All of the employees I spoke to during this process were courteous, patient and knowledgeable. When I found, what I considered some minor problems, which were caused by the factory, they came out the same day, corrected the 2 of them at no additional cost. I would recommend Powerhouse for any repairs and maintenance for any e- bike or e-trike. read more

Always great service but this time around didn't get the 5 star I would normally expect. Spoke to Ian about a bike wipe down and clean during the service, he mentioned that's always done. Brakes were adjusted, chain possibly cleaned but bike was a bit dirty, both tires partially pumped. Appreciate the ownership always on top of fixing any issues you may experience. I am revising my previous review after receiving the owner's reply. I showed you the parts and agreed to the price, expecting the bike to be fixed or replaced where necessary. I was willing to pay for this service, of course. However, you should have mentioned over the phone that the only work completed was replacing the bike tube I brought in. Instead, you just said, "it's done and ready to pick up," without any further explanation. I was excited, expecting the bike to be fully repaired and ready to go. Instead, I discovered that only the tire tube had been replaced, and I was charged almost $50 for this minimal service. I will not be returning here and will advise others to avoid this place if they need bike repairs. read more

I just had an accident on my bike just because of the brakes. I brought my bike to the powerhouse Electric Bikes, and there was a boy who said we might need to change your brake pads, but let's see if we can fix it without changing them, thanks to him, My bike got fixed without changing the pads and saved the money. read more

Great bike shop! I have a Radrunner 2 and needed a brake tune up. Not only was it just $40 but they had my bike done in less than 2 hours. They only sell Black Rock bikes (which look pretty sweet) but they do repairs on any kind of ebike or regular bike. I rode my bike there but they will pick up your bike if needed. read more

I kept seeing this bike shop on my drive down Crown Valley so when my son came to me asking to have hydrologic brakes added for his birthday this was the first place I thought of. We took his bike and got it back less than a week later. The owner was knowledgeable & friendly, his little boy was very sweet and helpful too! When it was time to pick up the bike we made a mistake by not riding it around first. When we got home a couple things weren't quite right and upon returning with the bike they fixed it immediately and it's riding perfectly! My daughter has an ebike that she uses to get to school and home. Her brakes were acting up and we needed them fixed quickly. I called a few places but no one works on e-bikes unless it is the ones they sell. Then I found Black Rock Bikes. He was able to take my daughters bike right away and had it fixed the next day. The price was better than the other places by far. He also gave us some great tip and advice on how to maintain the bike. The brakes have not been an issue since. Highly recommend!!! read more

My girlfriend and I bought two Black Rock "Aloha" bikes from Gavin. He is extremely professional and knowledgeable. Had my electric bike brakes changed here. 1st the back brakes have a issue that he told me about and said I could just come back and they would replace them but I had to pay for it even though they didn't work. I don't understand why I should pay for something that he tells me doesn't work. But I did since he would not release the bike unless I did and my ride had left. Than the bill. He quoted me $60 each for the brakes than said well we didn't have those brakes so each one is now $120 each. I said no that is not happening as that is so illegal. Known as bait and switch. He backed off that. Than I also installed a new rotor and he tried the same thing again. Quote was $30 and now he wanted $38. Said come on this is only $8 difference what is the big deal. The person there was named Gavin. It seemed as if he was taught this probably by the owner. This has to be one of the most unethical places I have been too. This place should be avoided at all cost. This is not a business that belong in our community After I wrote this the owner called me. He was very nice and apologized for what had happened. Most importantly he didn't make excuses but rather said this is not the way I want to run my business. Sometimes things are done wrong but it is the way you handle the situation matters the most.
