Worst customer service ever! I went in to exchange a shower curtain. I was told up front by a girl who states she went to ask "Customer Service" if she could return or exchange the shower curtain. She went in the back and came back out and told me yes. I told her I had some shopping to do. I finished my shopping and came downstairs to pay along with Exchange of my shower curtain. Another lady named Marta flew in on her broom stick like the Devil from the back of the store. She stayed she was a Manager. She was hateful, abusive, mean and awful. She went off on a lecture like I was some employee in trouble. I told her I was not going to put up with her horrible customer service and that I was so shocked at her behavior. She then proceeded to tell me "well I don't have to do this return for you" while she was holding the shower curtain in the air like some Phycho on medication. I said are you sure your a manager, She said she was manager. I told her because of her behavior I was not buying anything from that store and put my stuff back. She said "ok fine with me." I called the corporate office who then emailed me back and was addressing a dumb 15 percent off coupon issue I brought up at the time and totally avoided addressing the so called manager Martas behavior! They offered me $25 in a gift card. YOU CANNOT PAY ME TO SHOP AT THAT STORE EVER! Management has to change and Crate & Barrel needs to REALLY STEP IT UP IN THE Customer Service Department. Their prices are high and they act like they are doing YOU a favor when you come to shop in their stores. I like Crate & Barrel merchandise but I like my hard earned money also. I refuse to go into a store and be treated the way I was. There are PLENTY of other stores in the area with BETTER CUSTOMER SERVICE to spend my hard earned money. Do not go to this store if you value Good Customer Service. read more

This store is awesome and sometimes they even offer some free coffee while you walk around shopping. There's an indoor area and even a small outer area or you can sit and look over the south coast view. They have a huge selection and it is actually two stories here so you won't get bored shopping around. There are quite a lot of items here weather for your home or apartment whatever you might be shopping for so definitely come ready and also bring your wallet as it can be a little pricey. read more

If your unsure on what style you want and colors etc. ask for Paul. He was so helpful with helping us pick out a couch, love seat, ottoman, bedroom set, rug, and dinning table. Bought an office desk, a bathroom cabinet and a island kitchen table. While the island kitchen table is back ordered, I still haven't gotten it yet. But the office desk and bathroom cabinet has arrived and in perfect condition. The office desk is very sturdy and made from real wood. Not particle board. It was $750 which is a very reasonable price. I seen particle board office desk at Living space for $600 which is smaller size. Needless to say, the desk was a steal at $750 in my opinion. The bathroom cabinet is nice and sturdy. it did require assembly but it was easy. it wasn't like Ikea stuff where sometimes the screw didn't fit or it feels wobbly by the time you finish building it. Every screw fit inside their respective hole making it a very easy to put together. I'll update my review when the kitchen island ever gets here. I was here yesterday looking for glassware and bar tools and was surprised at the awesome selection of so many items for entertaining. Their glassware was plentiful and I liked that they had price choices and degrees of thickness. They did not have a vast array of some of the things I was seeking but the customer service was incredible. There never was a lack of assistants on the floor and everyone was so friendly and helpful. The store was packed. I was very pleased that after purchasing several items they offered to wrap everything up and within 5 minutes I was out the door. I had never been to this location before but I must say that during such a busy holiday season their service was impeccable and I will be back. read more

My mom went to this location and bought two brown leather couches. Paid $1400 cash and put the rest on the CB credit card that she applied for that day. Melissa told her that she got approved for $4000 but she was actually approved for $5000 and was charged the full $5000 on the credit card, only $400 showing up as cash. My mom then unknowingly signed the receipt for the full $5000 amount and we have been fighting with CB for the past 4 months about it. We have been given the run around by headquarters saying that THEY DO NOT HAVE SECURITY CAMERAS IN THAT LOCATION. If they just review the footage, they could see that she paid $1400 in CASH. it's difficult not walking here and wanting to walk away with half the store. there is an excellent selection of items. they're not exactly easily affordable items but they're good quality. the service is spot on if not a little on the stalker side and all items are well rearranged and properly displayed. sometimes you find stuff in odd places or looking as if they were just dropped there. this isn't the case here. presentation is also spot on. i bought my china and cups here and to this day they still look good and have been quite durable. read more

Crate & Barrel is the WORST place to come during the holidays...especially if you are the hostess. I can't help myself with all the innovative kitchen tools, the cute garlic containers (yes I bought one), the missing sugar bowl from my place setting (yes I bought that too) and don't forget the creamer. They seem to double their staff just in time, which is a huge help on the floor, but not so much at the register. I had a staff member ask me how to wrap the breakables....hmmmm she needs more training. However, the store is still spectacular and a wonderful place to peruse....if you can control yourself. I should add that if you are a bride or groom registering, I received dinnerware for my wedding from Crate & Barrel 13 years ago and they still have the same pattern, so that I can replace and add to whenever I want. Be sure to ask what patterns are staples so you can do the same, the last thing you want to do is keep replacing whole sets especially when you take so much time picking out the one you have. read more

Crate and Barrel has pretty much everything you need for your kitchen and more. I was up here at the Costa Mesa location looking for a cast iron skillet since they closed down the Mission Viejo Mall location. If I can, I usually try looking at other places first as they tend to be cheaper than C&B, but when your looking for something like a cast iron skillet, those places usually don't carry that kind of stuff. C&B had exactly what I was looking for and it was actually at a fair price. Win Win! Minus 1 star for usually being on the expensive side. read more

I bought the Avalon dining table at Crate and Barrel and was extremely disappointed. Noticed the white paint elevating up and chipping on the first week of using the table. When I called customer service, the lady told me that this is a "living breathing" material and need to take care of it. This is a dining table for goodness sake. people eat off of it. She informed me that you need to use a coaster for cups and make sure everything is wiped off or use a table cover. Does anybody use a coaster for their dining table? what the heck! They did agree to exchange it this one time and the second table was exactly the same. I would never buy furniture from Crate and Barrel. They seem to concentrate on how it looks but quality is horrible. Granted, I did not pay "high-end" price but my previous cheap dining table was much more versatile. If you are considering custom furniture from Crate and Barrel, DON'T!! They tell you 8-10 weeks, but our order has taken 4 MONTHS. I am now hearing from people and reading stories that this is the norm. Actually had a neighbor and her contractor laugh and say "Crate and Barrel" when I mentioned that our sofa still had not been delivered. This is poor management and a complete lack of customer service. Employees are great, this is a logistics issue and obviously not a concern for company management. I was trying to order some wine glasses from the site and they were out of them. I called the Costa Mesa location and spoke to Dianne Q, who helped me. I asked her if they had a specific wine glass in stock since the main site didn't and she said yes. I asked her if I can order over the phone and have them ship them to me in Brea since I didn't have enough time to pick them up. She gladly was willing to place the order for me with no issues. The After Christmas sale made this place the most hopping store in the entire mall. Staffers held up signs indicating "This is the end of the line." Was it worth it? Absolutely. Many of the items were not holiday related. It broke my heart to see the soup bowls that I purchased months ago marked more than 50% off. But, I got over it by picking up a few more. read more

I bought a couple of pieces of furniture for my living room last July and my husband started noticing that they were not put together the best. Specifically they were an end table and center table. After having them at home for 7 months I called Crate & Barrel just to gave them a feed back on the furniture, without any expectations and they offered to come and pick up those pieces and either exchange them for some new ones or give me my money back. We recently bought an Axis II sectional Axis II, a Memphis rug, and four Curran chairs. Extremely happy with the purchases. Be sure to buy a 15% off coupon from ebay to save a lot of money. Most of the sales people at the stores are extremely helpful. While the prices are more expensive you definitely get what you paid for here. We couldn't find a good circular dining table but we found the perfect one at Ikea of all places. Highly recommended. read more

This is not a review for this particular store, but actually for the Willow Queen sleeper sofa. There's nowhere else on the internet to review it, so I thought I would post this review to my nearest store. When the delivery guys delivered our sofa, they asked whether I wanted them to remove a particular bottom piece so that we would be able to pull out the sofa bed. Well, it turns out removing this piece causes a large piece of metal to drag on the ground. After only a month of sitting on the sofa, we realized that the floor underneath had gotten all scratched up from the metal at the bottom of the sofa. Now these are not wood floors, or soft floors, these are practically indestructible laminate floors. Since we rent our house, this is of particular concern to us. Who makes a sofa that is basically guaranteed to ruin your floors? I call this a faulty design. You absolutely have to put a run underneath the C&B sleeper sofas. They should tell you this. I thought Crate and Barrel's products were great until I had the resin wicker fail on 8 pool chaise lounges. I contacted customer service and was told this was normal wear and tear...I can guarantee you this is not normal, as the cushions that came with the chairs are still in perfect condition. I might understand the resin wicker failing if the lounges had cost $250 or ever $350 each, but I paid over $550 each! Now I have 8 pool lounge chairs that can't even be repaired and will be sent to the dump. I can guarantee you that I will never buy a Crate & Barrel product again and recommend that you do the same...It is very unfortunate that Crate & Barrel refuses to stand behind their products. read more
