The furniture is beautiful but very expensive, and our $7k+ dining room table broke after 18 months. It actually only needed a small repair and they refused to replace the small plastic part that broke, even with me offering to complete the repair myself, because it was past the 12-month warranty. Instead they said we needed to spend more than $1k to replace a "frame" that the plastic part connects to. They didn't go to bat for us with the manufacturer to try to get a replacement part despite us having spent more than $12k with them over the past four years. I'm surprised to see another recent review saying that they apparently acted differently and were willing to "stand behind" a 3-year-old table that broke. Again, the furniture itself is very attractive. If durability and service aren't as important to you, and this is a comfortable amount of money for you to spend, then it's probably fine. read more

Having searched for almost a year for a particular style of dining table with self-storing slide out extensions, we became aware of Calligaris through friends who live on the East Coast who had recently bought a Calligaris table similar to what we were looking for. After checking the company out online we found that the nearest company-owned store was in Costa Mesa, California. Although Costa Mesa is a seven-hour drive from home, we decided to incorporate it into a summer trip we were planning to visit family in Northern California. From the online catalog we had a pretty good idea of what we wanted so next step was a call which confirmed that the table we were looking at was indeed on the store floor. We connected with Aggie Reyes, a Senior Designer, who worked with us over the phone and subsequently set a date with to visit. She was incredibly welcoming and it turned out the table we wanted to see, was in fact, being used as her desk and so the process began. Calligaris is based in Italy and offers both ready-to-ship preset designs, but each piece can also be customized as well, albeit longer delivery times. Aggie introduced us to all the possible variations and we quickly realized that we had a lot of decisions to make. All through the process Aggie was helpful and supportive, making every effort to show us the colors, samples and options. Once we came to an agreement on the table, she introduced us to the Calligaris line of seating options. She sent us home with samples, color photos, measurements, and catalogs as well as pricing information. We made the deal several days later by phone! Having had a recent shipping disappointment with a similar table, Aggie worked with Calligaris in North Carolina to arrange for White Glove delivery to our home in Tucson and kept in touch during the entire process. We have nothing but praise for Aggie's commitment to Calligaris and their customers, in fact we spent so much time in the store we felt like family. The table and chairs arrived yesterday and the delivery and handling went flawlessly and we are grateful to Aggie for making it all happen. She even estimated a delivery time when we purchased it in July, and she was right on target. Well done Aggie! read more

I can't say enough good things about Calligaris. Aside from the unique furniture design, quality furniture that are made in Italy, and so many options tailored to one's need, it's the EXCELLENT customer service that won me over. The new management and staff are superb. James, the store manager is extremely friendly, hospitable and just so accommodating. My husband and I came to the store 3 times before making a purchase, every single time we were there, we were offered espresso and/or water by various staff members and always felt welcomed. Cynthia was the interior designer that helped us picked out our chairs and counter stools. I couldn't figure out if a round table would work in our dining area, I gave the measurements and Cynthia determined that it wouldn't work. Cynthia is not a sales person, she's a trained interior designer. She was a great asset and saved me from purchasing a table that would not have worked in the space I have. The SUPERB customer service at Calligaris is definitely top down. The new manager, James has created an atmosphere where customers are welcome and design consultants are patient and knowledgeable. read more

The service is hit or miss, and our experience today was particularly atrocious. We're repeat customers and came in the store today to purchase 8 chairs for our dining table. After waiting a long time to have someone even acknowledge us, we were finally helped. In the middle of pricing our selection, because we already knew exactly what we wanted, a random guy walked in and it was like we didn't existed. The saleswoman jumped to his aide, completely ignoring the fact that she had been helping us make a purchase. The other guy took his sweet time and we kept on waiting and waiting and waiting while he changed his mind and wanted other selections, and still being ignored. It was like there wasn't even two salespeople in there or anything. Furthermore, the prices were more expensive than online, and the "16-18 week" turnaround was BS considering we checked the stock online and it was readily available. We will still get the chairs but we will never come back to this location. For a better furniture store, I recommend Roche Bobois, where salespeople actually care about assisting you read more

We purchased a Match coffee table from Calligaris OC a little over a year ago, with Natural legs and a Matt Optic White top. At the time, I was worried whether the top could stand up to my 4 and 5 year old boys. I am happy to report that after 12+ months of Zoom school art projects, this coffee table looks the same as the day we purchased it. It is a simply elegant and cleans up like a champ. The guys at this company, in particualar Mike McAllister, went above and beyond to help me out. Supreme customer service! I had moved across country from NY to LA and the moving company lost the pieces I needed to reassemble my dining room table. I had purchased the table about 10 years ago from Macy's, and the pieces that were missing were specialty -- I tried over half a dozen hardware and furniture stores here in LA and no one carried replacements. I even contacted Macy's, but they were unable to help since the table was so old. (Yet still in perfect condition! Hence I did not just want to toss it for lack of parts!) The name etched into a corner of the table was "Calligaris" so in a last ditch effort I reached out to the company directly. Well, Mike was so helpful, he was able to locate replacement parts AT A WAREHOUSE IN ITALY (!) and sent them to me, free of charge! I am so grateful and appreciative. The short version: The designs are exceptional - clean and modern, but with a wonderful European warmth. Quality is outstanding (we've had our furniture for 9 months of daily use and they are like new, will clearly hold up for many years). Eddie and his team at SoCo are as friendly and warm as they are knowledgable and skilled. Customer service is absolutely top notch. We could not be happier with our experience of the store, the staff and the products. Would and will absolutely shop here again! Would gladly give 7-stars if possible. The long version: As part of a sizable re-model of our home, it was time for new furniture. Our home is small-ish (1600 sq-ft) and we redesigned with a warm, mid-century vibe. Our rooms are not huge and thus much of the oversized furniture that fills the standard shops would look very out of place. We wanted pieces that were to our scale, that had the subtle signs of quality design but not ostentation and that would stand the test of time (both in look and in durability). Comfort was a must. And budget is always a factor. We made the rounds at DWR, Room & Board...all fine stores. But when our architect, Robert Puertas (also brilliant!), took us to Calligaris we found that subtle "it" factor that we were hunting for. Eddie and his staff worked with us to pick pieces that fit our style, let us take samples home to check colors and textures...could not have been more helpful. Ordering was easy and delivery was as well. We had one rug that was delayed, but things are being manufactured to order and imported from Italy...it happens. Eddie and staff were great about it, communicated well...all you can ask. We have no complaints. As I mentioned, we've had all our "stuff" including a sectional and rugs that get daily use, and they are in perfect condition. The few spots that have inevitably hit the rugs blotted out with a a simple damp cloth. And the sectional fabric is in mint condition, the frame rock solid and the cushions firm. We are delighted. If you are looking for Pottery Barn or Restoration Hardware-esque stuff, Calligaris may not be for you. But if a warm, modern, clean, European look with the elements of Italian design and exceptional quality is what you want, you have to give Calligaris a try. If nothing else, go meet Eddie and co. just to hang out. They'll treat you wonderfully and help with your design ideas, even if you don't buy a thing. Major kudos to a great company with a great team in Costa Mesa! read more

Ordered an ottoman on February 1, 2022. It's now August 13, 2022 and I just learned that it has finally arrived. And the only reason I know it has arrived is because I called. No one called me 3 days ago when it arrived after I've already waited 27 weeks. Let me be clear - I was told that the ETA was 12/16 weeks. That would be late May 2022. I did send multiple emails inquiring on the status, which were left unanswered. When I did finally receive a response the "customer service" was lackluster and unprofessional. When a new sales manager arrived I was hopeful; her communications were much better, but again I was left just waiting for any sort of update. I do already own one piece of furniture from Calligaris and it is indeed very well made and beautiful, and it should be for the price. 5 Stars for the product. 4 Stars for price. 1 Star for customer service. Needless to say this will be my last purchase from Calligaris. Update: just picked up the ottoman. No apologies. Nothing. Barely spoke a word to me. Simply awful. read more

I've been to all showrooms of SOCO Costa Mesa, Laguna Design Center and Pacific Design Center in Los Angeles. Calligaris OC is the one. It's one of the few showrooms that fits my style of contemporary modern in which I outfitted the majority of my residence with their furniture. Secondly, the manager Eddie, designers Roshni and Saloomeh are all professionals that will go above and beyond for customer service. I've had many consultations with all three of them and I could sense that Calligaris OC leadership philosophy is not about making a sale, but how they can continually add value to customers and make them feel satisfied. I'm so glad we walked in because we finally found an elegant and functional dining table after searching for so long. My husband and I stopped by Calligaris after doing some research on wanting to get Italy made furnitures. The moment we walked in we were greeted by James and staff so pleasantly! Originally we were just planning on buying a tv stand, which we got for such a good deal but ended up purchasing a beautiful bedroom bench made in full italian leather. Both furnitures were such high quality at such reasonable prices! James was so accommodating and helpful in finding the right color, right material! He acted so quick, gave really good advices on which furnitures would match well with my new home. Then we headed out to explore other stores to find more furnitures to fill our home and ended up coming back to Calligaris to purchase a dresser and a matching wall mirror! I recently purchased a sectional from Calligaris. I am extremely satisfied with the quality of the product but moreover I really love the exceptional customer service. I had issues with a part of the sectional and I was nervous about how it can be resolved as I was not familiar with the company, Holdithome. But their customer service has been one of the best I have experienced. I would've only given this place a 1 star due to the experience, but they really carried some nice products. They definitely have the style that we're looking for. The one thing I couldn't stand was being lied to. My wife and I popped our heads in the place for the first time and their sales person said that they were going to have their first floor sample clearance the following week where they were going to clear out all of their floor models to make way for their new collection. Everything was going to be at least 50% off and they were bring in 2 trucks with additional items for sale. On the day of the sale, we got there before opening and found that a lot of items they had weren't on sale. Basically everything we were planning on buying there weren't. There was decent amount of things on sale but it wasn't close to the 50% as described. A couple of people that were also waiting around with us said they were also told that things were going to be 50% off and left disappointed. read more

Since we moved in a new home, we had to shop all furnitures. Selecting a right couch is a big deal to me. It took about two months to shop around all top-rated furniture stores in OC. In the beginning I looked for a cream color fabric sofa that could brighten up a great room and make a variety of color changes by playing with pillows. I can't say enough wonderful things about Calligaris. Eddie, the Sales Mgr., was exceptional! He helped coordinate the style and colors of the kitchen furniture (dinette table, chairs and counter stools) with the room samples I brought to the showroom. His ideas and suggestions were so professional. I now have a beautiful and color coordinated kitchen that is beyond my wildest dreams. We could not have done it without Eddie's help! The delivery team was also amazing! They unpacked each item on the truck, and examined every item very carefully while wearing rubber gloves to keep everything clean. They found a tiny imperfection on one of the counter stools, showed me, and they have ordered a replacement free of charge. Honestly, I would probably never have found the slight imperfection but this is just an example of the quality and professionalism of the entire Calligaris team.
