This experience has been a nightmare and it's still not over. DO NOT BUY ANY FURNITURE FROM MACYS. On June 18 my mother and I went into the store looking for living room furniture. I hate when sales people come up to me because they act like vultures. I'm more so let me look and I'll look for a sales person if I have questions or am ready to purchase. That didn't stop Steve he kept coming up to my mother and I. Finally we found something we liked after looking for about 45 minutes. Then we found a book of patterns and looked through it and chose a nice pattern. We got Steve's attention and he came right over. We showed him what we wanted and began the process. He said initially Macys would take a deposit but then when we got to the cash register he ran two different transactions for the entire price (over $5,000). A week later he calls and says the special material we picked out was discontinued and he doesn't know why it was still on display. He asked if we could come back to the store and pick out another fabric. We went back the next day and there was about three fabric layout which one included the showroom floor. We picked out the showroom floor. My mother asked for a discount for the inconvenience. He gave her a 10 percent discount. He said he would take care of everything and she would be expecting a refund for the 10 percent. Steve then called again a week later asking for our debit card information. I said for what? He said I canceled out your other order and now trying to repurchase your order. I told him ummm sir that will be over $10,000 Macys will have. No you're not. I also asked where was the refund? He stated it's coming in a check from Cincinnati (the office in Cincinnati has been closed for about 5 years) I said sir we didn't give you a check everything should have placed back on the debit card. After about a week waiting on a check I called Macys real corporate office and New York and they stated that we should have a refund by July 17. It is now July 21st and we have yet to receive any kind of refund. Tomorrow we are headed to South Coast to demand our refund back. read more

When I got married, we shopped for furniture at the Broadway Outlet Store in Lincoln Heights off of Broadway. Today, the Costa Mesa store has the best deals on Macy's furniture that is still of high quality and reasonable discounts. I was looking for a nice recliner, as the Costco recliner is broken and never was really comfortable. I found the right recliner and paid the same amount as the Costco recliner from five years ago. I will always shop the Costa Mesa Home Store first just to look for deals. read more

So... I received a text informing me it was Macy's home sale. That got it me in the door! I wasn't sure what to expect, but wow! I was pleasantly surprised. I've been on a hunt for some super soft bath towels -- not the kind that barely dry you off and that function like a paper towel. I was able to buy two sets from Hotel Collection at 60% off -- making them within my budget. I was also able to snag a new toaster at a decent discount. Came on Labor day weekend to sample hybrid mattresses. I was impressed by the large selection of various brands and prefer tested in person - verses buying a mattress online and out of a box. Cheri the sales woman was helpful and knowledgeable. She showed me various brands and price variations. They were super busy but she was patient since I took my time testing and making a decision. I ended up purchasing a low profile Tempur-pedic box frame, firm pro adapt mattress, and a top of the line mattress cover. The price was competitive, included two Tempur-pedic pillows and white glove delivery. I received my yesterday and the delivery team from Bloomingdale/ Macy's delivered in the two hour window committed. The two men wore shoe covers, set up my new bed and hauled away the old box spring and mattress. Last nights sleep was awesome and Iz my pug - enjoyed the new bedding too - heard him snoring - Lol. I bought a couch here and was pleasantly surprised at the selection. I had shopped at all the chain places: Living Spaces, Ashley, Jeromes, et al, and could not find anything. However, after coming here I found a nice sectional with firm cushions and a good price. It had to be special ordered, but I was okay with waiting a few months for what I wanted. The sectional came slightly before promised. In addition, with all the discounts (Holiday, Macy's card, Star Rewards), the price was within my budget. This review is specifically based off my experience this past weekend in the toy department. I was happy to see that this Macy's carried a nice and decent selection of toys. I found three to get as gifts for my 9.5 month old daughter from the "Imaginarium" brand. I hadn't heard of the brand before, but they had a decent selection of quality toys to choose from. When I was in the process of checking out, the cashier seemed perplexed when I asked if the 40% off had applied. She proceeded to tell me "the system" wasn't showing it on sale and all she could apply was 15% off. Confused and uncertain as to why this was the case, I took a photo of the advertised sign clearly marked 40% off original price. She applied 40% off one item... I decided to hop in line again and speak with another cashier to see if this frustrating mystery could be resolved. He brought down the manager who told me "Oh ya, things have been crazy around here. That sign is in the wrong place, but you got 40% off one item." For real, that's your solution/answer? I politely responded that I understood I received 40% off one item, but according to their signage it's all 3 items on sale. She refused to take ownership of their mistake and said that was the price. The difference was maybe $6 or $7... a small amount in the grand scheme of things to do the right thing. I will not ever be shopping here again due to Macy's blatant bait and switch practices. Shame on you. read more

I made a purchase on August 29,2024 with my Citi bank credit card. I realized the exact same day I bought the wrong size went back to the store and canceled the delivery and order because they didn't have the bed I wanted in a full size. They only had it in a queen and king. I've been getting the run around as to when my credit card would no longer show pending transaction of $1,178. I've been more than patient but 21 days is not acceptable. I spoke to the manager over the phone and he told me that it would clear off my credit card on the 18th. Not sure why it's taking so long when I have paper work showing the cancellation was done on Aug 29th. He told me the cancellation was done on Sept 4th . I was told usually with in 72 hours and then I was told 7-10 business days. Now I don't know what to believe here the manager told me false information as well. Not sure I will be shopping here again. I now have a dispute charge put in and hoping it's handled asap. Macys you need to do better!!zero stars read more

I had a terrible experience with Macy's home store. Purchased a sofa and the fabric stretches every time you sit on it. I called, they sent a man out and he said to turn the cushions over. Ridiculous! I continued to complain and they sent another sofa. Same thing! So whenever anyone sits on the sofa I have to try and stretch the fabric back to its original form with my hands. My only gripe is that this store isn't actually attached to the Macy's department store nor is it by any means close by but WOW is it a wonderful place! First off, do not park near Macy's if you plan to shop here. You'll want to park in the designated section near the home store itself because if you make the mistake like I did then you'll have to cross the bridge and down the end of the mall to get to the home store. I came here on Black Friday and it was surprisingly clean and rather organized. The stockers weren't exactly beaming with joy but then again, it was black Friday so I'm not taking it personally. Still, though, they assisted me with all the questions that I had. I'm also not sure if it's because of Black Friday but the organization in the store just seems so out of place. The air fryers were displayed in one section but several other types could be found a little further away in the kitchen appliance section. It's also just such a massive store that it can be quite cumbersome to find even just a simple product because there's so much to choose from! My final concern are the "carts" that look like carts that you would use in the back of house. Definitely not your traditional shopping cart but I suppose they make it that way since some of these appliances would be more easily carried throughout the store with these food carts. Oh and you can't take these outside the store so remember what I said about parking near the place? If you forgot to do that then you can still drive over since there are designated 15-minute parking stalls for your convenience. The lines are well organized and the checkers could be a lot faster but I guess that's just a matter of personal opinion. Overall I enjoyed my experience here and am glad that I live nearby. Was in the store yesterday looking for bedding for 6 beds. I was approached once by a sales person when I first got there but I wasn't ready for help. Then when I did need help there wasn't a salesperson to be found anywhere in the department. Lots of sale signs but no actual pricing. Only a few QR codes leading to the website. If I wanted to shop the website I wouldn't be in the store. I left, out of frustration and without making a purchase. It's no wonder retail stores are doing so badly. Still a fantastic place for housewares and linens but I'd go elsewhere for furniture. I bought a dining room table set a few weeks ago but, as the arm chairs were backordered, we held back on delivery until the chairs came in (supposedly in a couple weeks). After several weeks and no call, we called them and asked what was going on. "Well, um...the chairs came in but the table is on backorder until January." And when were you going to tell us this? Why didn't you tell us? What are we suppose to do for the holidays (as we got rid of the old dining table)? "Well, you can rent one". No kidding. They seriously told us that. Because of her we agreed to switch to the top of the line Tempur-pedic. For some reason, customer services couldn't process my exchange. So, we had to purchase the mattress again and have a lapse in delivery schedules. It's just been an entire mess. Spent hours at Macys trying to make the purchase. I came here to purchase a 3k+ mattress. I knew the exact one we wanted and everything. It's a huge problem that these employees work for commission. I wanted to finance. The woman, CYNTHIA, that was handling my purchase, turned out to be very pushy, short, condescending, and unwilling to take care and/or time to explain their financing options. Instead her patience wore thin (very clearly) and she started to get snippy with me after finding out that we did not have a Macy's card. Had her attitude been different, I wouldn't have had an issue with applying for one but she completely deterred me from wanting to give ANY of my business to Macy's let alone 3k. That being said, instead of having patience and taking time to answer questions or more thoroughly explain my financing/credit options, there was a lot of huffing and puffing and she eventually walked away, quite annoyed, stating she had to go adjust stuff in the computer. So, I decided to walk away and take my business elsewhere. I am a nurse, relocating for work, and luckily, happen to be very well versed in customer service AND financing. Thank God I knew what I was talking about or else she would have pulled a fast one on me. Literally, the day before, I purchased a brand new living room, 8 pieces of furniture, and financed without an issue. Macy's standards of customer service used to be much higher. What happened? Ordered a airloom hotel mattress, very expensive! Received a damaged one with only 6 hand tufts on the top suppose to be 9, had macys replace. This is the third delivery and all beds were damaged. Driver wouldn't even unload. This is shocking macys does not do a white glove Delivery they sub contract it out bed is miss handled, and damaged. Avoid using Macy.com ordering system, meaning you placed the order on Macy's Web site. The orders come from different vendors. Unlike Purchasing in a store your, items come to you put together and what isn't put together before it comes will be put together right there in the driveway. However when you order from online it comes in a box and someone else has to put it together. I have had the worst time placing what I thought was a simple order. I have had to now place this order twice. Please know if you refuse the order because you did not know it was coming in pieces. You will not get your refund until it is received in there Wearhouse and 10 to 12 days after that! Don't place your orders online if you have big ticket items. It's better to order from Macy's the store not (((VENDER DIRECT))) As I said I had to reorder this dresser and night stand. This Macy's home store has a wonderful little cafe with good food. I had the fantastic fish sandwich with home made potato chips. The wife had a BLT with avocado and upgraded to the sweet potato fries! The fries are so good. This spot is a little hidden gem away from the hustle and bustle of the big mall eateries. Macys is the worst place to buy furniture. They have constantly dropped the ball on delivering the right furniture to me. I purchase a cal king mattress and they deliver a twin mattress. I've been waiting 4 weeks for this mattress and now who knows when or if I'll get my mattress. I do not recommend Macys for any type of furniture purchases. Save your time and go elsewhere. If I could give them negative stars believe me I would. If a company ever deserved to close or go out of business it's Macys home stores, there service is horrible. I would say a 2-3 star only because they have a nice selection and super sales, but beware of not being able to get it professionally delivered no matter how much you pay or if you use their recommended service. Within 3 months we've now officially paid close to $3,500 for furniture, but to get it delivered the biggest frustration imaginable to the point were I feel my elderly mother and now I have been treated rudely and disrespectfully. Maybe Macy's doesn't respect women clients? If that's the case there's a big problem with this business practice. I'm still patiently waiting to hear the outcome. They were supposed to be here with my couch and ottoman between 12-1. Then, by 2. I cannot have them from 2:30 to 7, but out of no where I get a 2:45 to 3:15.... the reschedule is another hassle and now nightmare. Really disappointing as I just expect more from a Macy's. Yesterday we went in Macy's Home to look for pillows for my living room. We found two black and white floor pillows that seemed like a match. With so many employees standing around, you would think that there would be help right away BUT no.... After tracking down an employee, he called someone else to help and after a long time waiting, she came. Unfortunately provided little help because the pillows didn't have a tag and she couldn't find the price. After a few minutes of searching on her iPad, she told me that she could sell them to me because she didn't know how to price them. I asked if there was a manager or someone to help and she said no. Seemed like she really didn't want to help and it seems like Macy's should have items on their floor unless they can sell them. 2 words: SHADY and UNETHICAL! I will never ever shop here or step foot in another Macy's again. I rather be stung with a thousand bees than to shop at Macy's because of their shady business practices. I purchased a leather sectional from Macy's and it arrived a month later due to back order. On the second day of receiving the sofa and upon a closer inspection, I noticed a writing on the side panel of my love seat. I took a closer look and the marking read, "defect" (see exhibit A). So, I called Macy's customer service to have them replace it with a new one. A week later, I received a replacement love seat, but noticed that the color and texture was off. Since it was part of a sectional, there was no way that I could've overlooked this, so I called them again to have it replaced. I received my "new" love seat a week after. At the time, I did a quick glance and thought it was fine since the color and texture matched perfectly with the rest. I did not think to do a through inspection because I figured, heck it's a very expensive sectional and it's Macy's, but boy was I wrong! While playing with my son on the floor one day, I noticed a very faint mark on the side panel of my love seat. Coincidence? I think not! I walked over, and what do you know! There was left over markings. Macy's had attempted to remove the marking "defect" from the sofa, but did a half ass job because part of the marking was still there (see exhibit B). And when you tilt your head to a certain angle, you can see the imprint of the word "defect." I couldn't believe my eyes. How shady is Macy's trying to pull a fast one on their customers?! I called AMEX to dispute this and Macy's insists that they had replaced it with a new love seat. EXCUSE ME, the pictures speaks for itself! What a bunch of scammers! You know how that saying goes for mattresses? Well, it's been more than 8 years since I've replaced mine and it was high time that I did something about it. I did a little research online and found that end of February into March is when most stores closeout their current inventory to make room for new inventory. So since I don't like to make large purchases over the phone or the internet without extensive research, I decided to go into Macy's Home store at South Coast Plaza to test out some mattresses. You have to lay on it and see if you like it. But don't just lie there on your back unless that's how you sleep. Turn over, toss yourself willy-nilly and see if it can take the brunt of your abuse. Ideally, bring your SO to test it out too since they have to live it as well. My mattress purchase at Macy's was pretty standard. Excellent service was provided. With my purchase, I was able to get free delivery, 12 months no interest financing and they took my old one for a fee, but I was happily sleeping on a new mattress within 2 weeks. Delivery dates for weekends take longer and they will give you a 2 hour window the day before so clear your schedule as needed. read more

I *heart* this location of Macy's Home Store. You'll find luggage, kitchen electrics, pot & pans and the cafe on the 1st floor. On the 2nd floor, you'll find all of the china, crystal and silver you'd ever want or need for twenty lifetimes. And on the 3rd floor is the towels and linens. I'm still amused by the electronics kiosk near the escalator on the 1st floor. I adore this location for it's easy parking but especially for when their Hotel Collection towels are on sale. I bought a queen size mattress pillow top, foundation, mattress protector and metal bed frame. Then salesman talks me into buying Worry-no-more insurance. Waste of your money and lying salesman! After 3 years of washing and drying mattress protector it started thinning and feeling gummy. I called WNM and I had to submit a claim with pictures. They denied claim saying they could not see thinning in pics. Even though salesman had told me you could get one a year? Save your $150.00 , from what I understand very hard to get them to help. I love this Home location! It is located across Bear street from the Macy's with clothing/shoes/bags at the main mall. The whole store is so beautiful and everything is overall easy to find. Since it is separated from the other store, this one has the most amount of home inventory and selection compared to any other Macy's in SoCal. If you are doing a registry, this is the best store to do it at. After owning a couple queen sets of their Charter Club 550/800 thread supima sheets, I will never buy another brand again. In my opinion, no other brand beats it on quality and price. We recently upgraded our bed to a king and needed to buy new sets. I was afraid of the damage for a couple sets, but was pleasantly surprised to find them for $60 each! Unreal! The cheapest I thought I would get them was $100 each. Turned out they had a special sale going on that day. We also went to check out their furniture selection. The salespeople gave us space to just look around and try out everything. They had a mid-century piece that was insanely comfortable and almost comparable to an Eames lounge chair. My husband loved it, but we don't really need it at the moment.
