I enjoy coming to Crate and Barrel, as they have some nice home and kitchen products (plates, bowls, appliances, decorative items etc), and they do a nice job with their aspirational displays. My house will never look like that! They don't have a huge variety but enough to likely find something. Prices aren't cheap but they sometimes have sales. They also have a military discount. We're always greeted when we enter and their staff can only be described as classy. Plentiful parking and next to a Home Depot. read more

To anyone concerned, I have been a good customer at crate and barrel in Paramus nj for years. In the past I have purchased 2 bedroom sets and a beautiful leather chair and a custom couch and probably more than that. This year in February I purchased a couch. I was told I could not return it. Ok in good faith I accepted this tough stance. But after waiting 2 months for delivery, the chaise cushion is the wrong size for the actual chaise. My couch looks terrible. I was told to wait 6 to 8 weeks for a new cushion. It has now been 2 months and still nothing. I went into the store for help but the lady couldn't figure out the order or the problem. We also call customer service and they told me to go to the store!! Negligent treatment from what I thought was a classy store. The inventory is fine etc but the workers all think they are selling diamonds or something the way they walk around and pick and choose who they will even greet, let alone help. Ordered a sofa in May. Cushions didn't arrive until mid-July after being promised "3-5 days" dozens of times. When they finally came, they were the wrong color. I re-ordered in mid-July and again was promised "3-5 days." Weeks later, still nothing. Fed up, I canceled the order two weeks ago. Yet today, huge boxes of cushions showed up anyway -- in the same wrong color I had already rejected, even after I sent photos requesting dark grey. Customer service is awful: 20+ minutes on hold, emails ignored, and voicemails without a callback number. One associate even apologized for delays because she "took days off." Why should customers suffer for lack of coverage? This has been dragging on since May with no resolution. Crate & Barrel corporate should be embarrassed by this complete failure of service and quality control. Never again. read more

Seeking help. I am a long time Crate and Barrel customer, and have noticed a decline in product quality. I have purchased many dishes and serving dishes over the years. The last sets I ordered off of registries arrived broken multiple times. I tried to contact customer service with a safety concern. My dishes which are years old at this point, but are oven and microwave and dishwasher safe have shattered in half while washing, the last one sending my husband to the hospital for stitches. Bought a sofa with a minor customization which options were available in their portfolio.. not like special dimensions or something.. with an ETa of 1,5 months from the moment it was purchased.. fair enough. The time came and none has communicated that now the ETA was extended for an estimated additional month.. o my when calling to follow up I got the notification. My first experience shopping at this store overall was pleasant, two Latina women helped me with my large purchase and were very knowledgeable and helpful throughout my purchase since this was my first time purchasing furniture for my home. However, the moment I went to check out my small kitchen items, the "manager" on the first level named Patricia expressed deep concern about how much I was spending and wanted to make sure I, a mid 20s Latina, knew the importance of paying my bills in full and on time. This to me is a form of racist bias and truly ended my experience in an unpleasant manner. No one should be judged by their age or race, and all employees should be trained to keep their personal bias opinions to themselves. read more

I had never shopped at Crate & Barrel either in-store or online before. After striking out at all other furniture stores, this was my last resort. I was aware that this was a pricier option than other furniture stores in the area, but was willing to give it a try. So take note, if you are looking for budget furniture, this isn't your place. Upon walking into the store, you are greeted by someone who can direct you to the right area. There are 2 floors. Since we were looking for a couch, we went upstairs and were greeted by someone else, an associate named Sharon. We told her what we were looking for in a couch, and she brought us to a couch that literally met all our needs. Since we have pets, our options were limited in terms of fabric. Sharon was very, very helpful! She even told us to sign up for Crate & Barrel's email list to save an additional 10%. I have loved this stored since we relocated from Switzerland in 2018. In summer when my parents came visit I took them to the store with my daughter. A representative at the front door greeted us by telling us the clearance section was upstairs. This comment was for me an act of unconscious bias almost racism, as we are latinamericans. I came to look for furniture to renovate my daughters room and this immediately changed my mind. In the past visits I had been always accompanied by my German husband, and have never been treated this way. Easy parking, nice layout of items. There is barely any crowding in the store because of its open layout which makes it easier to stroll around. I find that some pieces are a bit overpriced, but that's the audience they are trying to get in there! By far the most mortifying experience I've had in any store, in my adult life. I came in today to return two things: a 6-piece set of copper handled stainless steel cooking utensils, and a copper Kitchen Aid stand mixer. I purchased them midsummer. But they have since been packed away, and we only just unpacked everything, as we recently moved. Because we purchase non-stick pans that require silicone utensils, and a family member bought us a mixer, we were in a position to return the two. The associate, Rick, who was at check out was understandably doing his job, but was beyond rude. He was training another associate an the cash wrap and had her shadowing my transaction. The utensils were in mint condition, as they had never been used, and the mixer, also unused, had never been unboxed and was pristine. It was visibly obvious that the box had never been opened as there were no tears around the tape, and the box appeared to be in just-shipped condition. But he proceed to check it, claiming he needed to be sure I wasn't returning "bricks," as a previous customer had reboxed bricks and returned them in the original packaging. You could tell the associate he was training was equally as uncomfortable as I was, as she nervously tried to make conversation with me. I'm sickened by the customer service, or lack there of that I've received in this specific location. So HAPPY I've moved out of the area, as I will now be frequenting a different C&B location. But, the staff here was very nice and offered a lot of help but did not pressure us to put everything on the list. We met Nancy C, who is incredibly knowledgeable and has a great aesthetic sense. She knew what I was envisioning for our living room. We ended up buying a beautifully designed and amazingly comfortable sofa (as well as some other pieces) for our living room. Nancy helped us from start to finish. She had patience and listened to our thoughts, guided us and made sound suggestions. Nancy C helped us accomplish what we could not do elsewhere. She helped us without being pushy, she didn't rush or judge us, she was heaven sent and was just the person we needed! If you're looking for furniture (furnishings or flatware or gadgets), come here! You'll find well thought out and nicely designed, quality furniture and things for the home. Have always loved this company, but there are none near me, so I usually order online. Decided to visit this location, the closest to me, because I was looking for dishes and wanted to see/touch them in person. Store is beautifully set up, immaculate, well stocked, well designed and lots of bright light. The customer service was way above average - so helpful without being pushy or annoying. Lea searched for 15 minutes to find dishes I saw online but couldn't find in the store. They only had 6 left and she found them. She also gave me a secret tip about when they run certain sales. Me and my family were customers of Crate and Barrel for around 5 years I would say. Never had problems with their furniture or customer service so far. However, this time was different. Me and my parents were looking into bigger furnitures at the second floor, nobody were receptive at us (I don't want to say that it seems racist because we are asians, but it almost felt that way). And finally someone shows up to help, however while the person was helping us, suddenly goes to take a phone call, we waited for about 15 min and still nothing, so we ask another person to help, but it seems that they can't change once someone is helping. The person wasn't apologetic for making us wait nor a receptive or kind salesperson for such expensive and renowned brand. After we made the purchase, the delivery was not ready to made because one table that we want it was not available in their warehouse, the estimate was mid-July, when someone says that is flexible by 3 days 12-18 that's ok. But, the person never followed up, we had to keep emailing the person about it, and replied very coldly with simple 1 lines on emails, professionally that's just wrong. Anyways, the eta was 20th says the person. Afterwards, changes and asks if we could wait till August? If the person's attitude was different from the start, maybe things were different, but we had to cancel that table. Very unacceptable customer service. Also, I just noticed some negative reviews about customer service in this store and I think it should bring into attention, I don't want to mention names, but things need to change. Michael helped us purchase our dining room table and Boston helped us purchase our sofa and tv console during two separate occasions. The service and ordering process in general tends to be slow but it's really because they take their time and give you personal attention on your design ideas and purchases. They even helped us map our measurements in a software to figure out if items fit in our room. read more

We bought a rug from Crate n Barrel in June. We were told the rug was on clearance and not returnable. When installed the rug did not lay completely flat along the center where it had been folded. We contacted the company hoping they could send someone to steam the wrinkle out. We were told since it was not returnable they could not do anything to solve our problem. Selling a product on clearance does not mean the product is not first quality merchandise. Very disappointed with the level of customer service provided by C & B. Let me start by saying that I love Crate & Barrel and have found their customer service to be amazing at my local store. But I was shopping with a friend and we visited this location for the first time where I purchased some dishes. There was an issue with my order and when I returned to ask for assistance I was met with pretension and rudeness. The associate offered neither assistance nor an apology for the issues, instead saying she couldn't help me and that I needed to call customer service. When I visited my regular store, they quickly corrected the issue, which involved having to call the Paramus location to get them to correct the bill because only Paramus could fix it - the opposite of what the Paramus associate told me. Overall, I am disappointed to see the Crate & Barrel name represented in this manner. read more

I think it is a really well stocked store and they recently changed their hours to be open till 9 which is a great thing. It is expensive, but I have noticed that of all the items in my house I have purchased over time, the ones from Crate and Barrel are the items that have stuck around, even after 8 or 9 years. I recently went to the store and tried out many of the mattresses and found one I really loved. I am deducting one star because sometimes it can be hard to get someone to help you. You end up wandering around for a while, maybe if there was a sign in for help or a list? Otherwise cool store and great quality (though pricey) items. read more

I am a fan of Crate and Barrel. We own several pieces of furniture for our home from them and we agree that the quality is worth the price, in most cases. However this last trip on February 25th we were given some condescending attitude from an employee while we were looking at a media console. Yes ma'am, we understand we have to order the product through the store and we don't buy the furniture off the floor. We were looking at the openings in the back of the console. It would be a roughly $1200 purchase so forgive us for looking at it thoroughly. While I suppose we look young, probably her children's age, we are in our 30s and C&Bs target demographic. I really don't want to take my business elsewhere but the employees cannot treat paying customers like children just because of age discrimination. Please round them up and explain this or we will stick with West Elm. read more

I had the worst shopping experience in my whole life. To the point, I am determined not to purchase anything from Crate barrel ever. Tonight, I brought some items which I purchased online. I knew that these items were perfectly returnable (within 90 days from the purchase date). The associate who later turned out that she knew that their computer system had been shut down, scanned the receipt and said that my items are not returnable because computer is not taking them !! Then she claimed one of the items, a table runner, had some food stain. I knew that it can't be true since I never used it. While she stepped away, I took a closer look at it and found some tiny dust on it (who knows? could those dust were on the store counter?). So, I dusted them off. When she came back and saw that the dust had been removed, she was clearly upset. Then, she claimed the table runner had a strange odor next. Which was not true. Because I was not buying any of her bullshits, she finally went to back of the store to speak with the store manager. When she came back, she told me about the computer system being down and that I had to come back next day to return. (Which means another one hour drive....) She never admitted that the items are returnable. Instead, her attitude was patronizing. I wouldn't been so mad if she told me the truth from the beginning instead of making feel doing something so wrong. read more

This is not review of the store itself, but online order experience. Crate and Barrel takes orders in without being able to fulfill them. Give unreasonable estimates just to make you to place an order and then shift due date every week and after 2 months sill can't give a definite answer and yet online that product has same est delivery to get others to order. Beautiful standalone store. Talk about #housegoals. My fiancé and I went here for their private registry event, which they host almost every Saturday morning. The event starts before the store opens so couples have an opportunity to browse without the crowds. They provided a few pastries and coffee, as well as those provided by vendor demos (fresh popovers!). You can download their app to scan items or borrow their scanning tool. I was impressed at how fast the app picked up the scans and added the items - in just a few seconds. I appreciate the wide variety of items and prices depending on your budget, from a plate at $2.95 to kitchen table at $2500. At the end, they provided a nice goodie bag to each couple. read more

Below is the exact review I posted...or should I say tried to post. This is a review for the Winnetka Dining Table. If you want a table that is made poorly and shifts and moves than this is the table for you. As the delivery guys were installing the table we noticed the amount of movement in the table. After they finished it was wobbly and actually rotating! They took it apart and tightened all screws and put back together but still same issues. The floor model in the store was the same but the sales guy told us it was just because it had been moved around a lot. This was not the case. We refused the order and are very disappointed that a table that costs as much as this one does is so poorly made. We are also extremely disappointed that no one at C&B seemed to care. I would not recommend this table to anyone looking for a good quality table. read more

How gorgeous is this place. I'd never stepped foot in a C&B before. It is decorated so perfectly. Just the right amount of colors in each display, arranged just so. The table settings done up in variety so you can better visualize your potential dish ware :) the staff was friendly and full of smiles.
