Excellent Thai food, our group was pleasantly surprised with how much we loved this place, especially for the area (not heavily populated with Asians). Our group of 9 went for dinner during our stay at Crystal Springs nearby, and this is now going to be our new go-to spot every time we return to the area! All of us ordered different dishes and each one was unique and delicious in its own way. From the classic pad Thai, to the Thai burger (never saw that on any menu before), the portions were generous, yet we left wanting to come back again soon for more. I ordered the pineapple fried rice and even my picky 3 year old scarfed it down with no hesitation! Thai iced tea was also spot on. Well well well.. what do we have here ??? Located in Hamburg New Jersey, not normally noted as a hot bed of culinary diversity... Cravin Thai is an unexpected find. It was warm and welcoming. The menu had all the standard Thai dishes. We started with duck salad. It was supposed to be crispy duck but it was not that crispy except the skin. We find this is often the case as very few places make the duck truly crispy. However, the slices of duck were ample and the skin had a nice sear on them and was crispy. The other ingredients were fresh and good. A good dose of lemon grass always does the trick. N/ice sized serving. I had my standard Thai "litmus test" dish beef pad kra pow (beef basil). It was very good. The beef was not chewy which I've experienced at other places. There were a lot of green beans which is more like pad prik khing style but still very good. I ordered the dish spicy and it indeed came out spicy which does not always happen at other places. That was a plus in my book. My wife had beef green curry which also was very very good. Some other features to note: A really nice wine list including a Syrah and Shiraz plus house selections. Fully stocked bar. That may be considered a negative to all your BYOB-ers out there. Portions are very generous. They know what they are doing with spice level. none, mild, medium, hot and Thai hot.. Attentive service staff. Even with a liquor license, our bill was very reasonable. Nice décor and a good buzz and vibe.. place was packed on a Wednesday night in Hamburg. Would love to give it 4 and a half. Weird location. I walked in and was immediately confused. I ordered fried rice for takeout (as you have to) and as I was taking it, I noticed the woman handing it to me was maskless. She smirked at me and immediately coughed without covering her slimy mouth. I dropped the food as I ran out and heard the short woman laughing behind me, loudly. I got out as quick as I could and showered. Instead of that, I cooked some eggs at my house for dinner. Hoping I'm not sick. #traumatized. The only reason I gave it 4 stars was because parking is challenging but not impossible. Plan to drive around to find a spot. But it's so worth it! The food is fresh, colorful and delicious. The signature cocktails were equally exciting. Our servers were incredibly informative and flexible. Looking at all the plates coming out of the kitchen made it so hard to choose. Our table started with the sampler appetizer - a yummy intro to Thai cuisine! Then we had a curry dish, a pad cashew nut dish and a milder noodle dish. The plates were so generous we each had take home bags. The desserts looked fabulous too , but we had no room for anything. The decor is cozy and warm. Love this place! My expectations were low going to a Thai place in Hamburg. But I was more than surprised at the quality of the food we received at Cravin Thai. The service was lacking a bit as we waited a while just for water, but the food was absolutely outstanding! We started with the Thai wings which were good. We then split a plate of the Pad Thai and Drunken Noodles. I'll tell you the Pad Thai was really good but the Drunken Noodles were AMAZING! I'll be back just for that!!! Placed an Order for PICK UP -they said a 1/2 ( half ) 30 minutes not an HOUR .for Pick up..it was about 45 minutes later ; they needed to clarify again the order even when I had the hostess repeat it when order placed ..The experience was about a 2 .. We drove by this place several times over the last couple of years and tonight we had the chance to stop in and have dinner. From the moment we walked in every aspect of this place was top notch. I have lived in several places with Thai food. Never had I had such a wonderful, and relaxing and dining experience. From the quaint little street next to the art gallery, the convenient parking out front and out back, I enjoyed eating here even more than I did eating at the resort I came to visit. Proof of that is that I saw other resort guess at the same restaurant! We set a Nkosi little table next to the window. Our waitress came to us right away to get our drink orders. She made recommendations, was knowledgeable about the menu, and enticed us to hold out for after dinner drinks! They have a cute little menu with drinks you should have after your meal! Who does that!? I was tempted to go for the Pad See Eew but I went for Pad Thai. All the nuts and vegetables in a noodle based meal with awesome sauce at the bottom! My friends brought me here the other day - we were in the mood for Thai and they wanted to introduce me to a new Thai place (there is only one other Thai restaurant within an 30 mile radius). However they did tell me before we came here that I was not allowed to read the reviews on yelp, because they thought it would sway my opinion. And what was my option - well you asked for it :-) The decor is nice; nothing out of the ordinary, but nice. The staff is friendly, but extremely slow and a little disorganized. We had to flag down our waiter a couple of times to remind him to refill our drinks and he messed up our order giving us shrimp instead of chicken in one of our dishes. The food is good depending on what you get. Let me explain. We started off with chili Thai wings, which were delicious. They had just the right mixture of sweet and spicy. They were not those wimpy wings that restaurants have been serving lately. They were large in size and cooked to perfection. Crispy on the outside and moist in the middle...just how a wing should be. We then had Drunken Noodles - one spicy and one regular with a side of spicy fried rice. The dish that was regular tasted kind of bland - lacking flavor; however the spicy dishes (which I could only take one bite followed by a half gallon of milk) was packed with flavor. I wanted to keep eating the spicy, but I couldn't handle it. If only they could kick up the flavor on the regular Drunken Noodles without making it overly spicy...then I would be a fan! read more

Went here tonight with some friends because someone bought a groupon deal for 4. It's located in a weird spot and easy to walk right by. Once inside the ambiance is nice though. It was quiet when we arrived, only one other table. It got a bit busier while we sat and when we left there were probably 4-5 tables and a handful of people at the bar. The groupon entitled us to a drink each, 2 apps, an entree each, and 2 desserts. It was a great deal. I ordered the st. Germain cocktail.... I wouldn't order it again. It was way too sweet for me but maybe others would enjoy it. For apps we got the spring rolls and the chicken satay. Both were quite tasty and I really enjoyed the sauces. For an entree I had the red curry and asked for it extra spicy. They definitely delivered on this request! So thankful! I love spicy food and usually food that is deemed "spicy" seems fairly tame to me so I appreciate a place that will actually make me sweat. For dessert we split the coconut custards and the chocolate mousse. Both were okay. Not bad, but nothing incredible. All in all I was happy to have tried this place. This area is not known for great restaurants so having another place to visit while up here is a definite bonus. I would definitely enjoy going back and trying some new dishes. read more

I consider myself to be very fair when I give reviews. Thai, Tom Kha Gai soup is one of my very favorite meals that I seek to enjoy when a decent Thai restaurant is available. That meal as a dinner is typically served in a metal round ring bowl with generous amounts of mushrooms and cost $9.50 to $10.50 appx. I ordered a double serving here for dinner off the dinner menu at the suggestion from my waitress because she did not want me to be disappointed. The portion I was served is about one third the size of the typical dinner portion for this dish and cost $12.00 here. Needless to say, I will not come back here for my favorite true Thai food. I really miss True Thai restaurant I ate frequently at in Seward neighborhood in South Minneapolis. If you honestly do not know what a good Thai restaurant is like, this place will probably be ok for you since you will not know what you are missing. read more

I've been going here for 3 years... I have never been let down. The service is wondrous and the food is even better. There is a very wide variety of flavor ranging from sweet slaty savory and spicy. It exceeds my food expectations very much. I am happy to say that I will soon be getting married to this restaurant she just that great. I cannot express the love I have for this place. Even the atmosphere is great, but there's is one thing...the music choices. Country and Pop. It doesn't pay homage to the roots of the restaurant itself. I was visiting my sister this last weekend in Vernon. She texted my on my drive over to ask how I felt about getting Thai for dinner. I love Thai so I thought the idea was great. I got there earlier than expected so we had to wait on my brother-in-law to get home from work. By then I was good and hungry and couldn't wait to dig in. I just had Chicken Pad Thai and we split a couple orders of spring rolls. They were great as was the dipping sauce. The Pad Thai could have been very good but the chicken was bland and sorta old tasting - like it had been poached but not seasoned then left in a refrigerator for 3 days. Anyway, had I gone meatless I probably would have loved it. But I didn't so I can only give it an average score. read more
