New from their seasonal offer - Affogato served with Onyx coffee and Fosselman vanilla Ice cream (famous local ice cream maker in SGV)
    Hans L.

Stopped by Craving yesterday, a new coffee and pastry shop in Hacienda Heights, and had a great experience. The service was excellent, and everyone was so friendly. The barista was awesome--I really enjoyed the pour-over coffee and their seasonal affogato. They serve Onyx Coffee, which was excellent. Their fresh Chinese pastries, made daily, were so good that we even bought some to go. I'll definitely be back! I noticed some reviews saying the owner was mean, but that wasn't my experience at all. He was very friendly, talkative, and took the time to chat with us. We really enjoyed the conversation, which made the visit even more enjoyable. Highly recommend checking this place out!

This cafe is such a unique concept that offers Chinese pastries!! I love that they have a really wide variety of coffees and matchas that pair really nicely with both the American and Chinese pastries! My favorite was definitely the pecan cookie latte. The cookie paired so well with the coffee, and I highly recommend dipping the cookie in the cream. I also tried the blue matcha coconut and yuzu tonic. My favorite pastries that I tried was the crispy pecan cookie and the blueberry kouign-amann. Also, parking is super easy since they're located in a strip mall. Theres plenty of seating so you can come hang out with friends or get work done!

If this review was only on the drink I got, this would be a 5 star review-- because wow!!! But I did get 2 pastries, the almond croissant which was good and the ham and cheese croissant that was warmed up, but surprisingly hard and chewy. The flavor was there, but it was difficult to bite into. + The space is clean and open + Black Sesame Matcha was FANTASTIC. I will be back to get it again! + Friendly employees + Plenty of the seating + Parking is easy since its in a shopping center - super hard/chewy ham and cheese croissant

Taste :4.5/5 Environment: 4.7/5 Service: 4.5/ 5 This place combines coffee, matcha, and traditional pastries under one roof, and somehow it just works. Drinks I tried Guava Matcha Pistachio Latte Pastries * Wife Cake * Golden Red Bean & Pine Nut Tart * Kouign Amann * Strawberry & Pineapple Pastries * Crispy Pecan Cookies One thing I really like is that they focus on fresh daily baking with minimal additives and no preservatives. And they're open until 11PM, making it a great late-night coffee stop with friends and family.

Lots of seating and pretty friendly staff. I got the black sesame Matcha and it is so aesthetically pleasing, but it is slightly impractical because you have to use the straw just kind of scrape the black sesame. You also have to mix it quite rigorously. The black sesame is quite prominent compared to the matcha. Still a good specialty matcha. Great place to work and have a sweet treat!

Having moved to the 626 from OC, one of the things I missed most about Orange County was its excess of cute aesthetic little coffee shops to have little dates and friend meet ups at. I love all the boba shops we have in the 626, but I still love myself a classic coffee shop menu with lattes, americanos and a good strong matcha. We first came to Cravings when they'd only been open a few weeks. Everyone was so friendly, and I was greeted warmly by the owner Benny, who was happy to walk me through their menu and their most popular drinks. Since it was my first time, I had just a regular vanilla latte, and it was perfect! Not too sweet, fantastic espresso flavor. I loved my coffee so much that after meeting my family for dim sum next door, I brought them all over after for an afternoon coffee too! They ordered a pour-over Eclipse coffee, a Tiramisu Latte, and one of their matchas. They also might have switched one of our drinks with another on the bar, which was an honest mistake and we didn't mind at all. They remedied the error, and Benny came over to explain they were still training their baristas and gave us a few of their house-made cookies (very good and so nostalgic!) I'll be back again and again. This is my new 626 coffee shop, and I love the little promos and updates you get when you sign up for their rewards program. Usually I think those kinds of texts are annoying, but Cravings doesn't send out too many texts and every time they do, it's usually a pretty decent promotion. Perfect for frequent customers!

This is my new favorite cafe and matcha spot in Hacienda Heights! GET THE BLACK SESAME MATCHA (if you love nuttiness)! Upon entering, I can already see why this place is a popular cafe spot - this cafe has did an amazing job of transforming its compact space to be the ultimate study spot. There are plenty of tables with outlets, and the seats are comfy. I came in the afternoon and there was no wait, customer service is very friendly and love to recommend you drinks if you are unsure. The decor is very sleek and I love how there are tea blends and freshly baked pastries for sale! DRINKS: -Black Sesame Matcha -Iced Rose Latte -Iced Tiramisu Latte FOOD: -Pastry of the day - forgot the name but it was a chocolate pastry My absolute favorite was the black sesame matcha!! I love matcha and black sesame but never thought of mixing the two - and I have to say the idea is GENIUS!! The nuttiness pairs well with the grassy and creamy matcha. The tiramisu latte was also so delicious! We also loved how flaky the pastry of the day was and how chocolatey it was. I am definitely coming back to try more of the matcha and pastries!

Black sesame matcha. Really good but the size is pretty small for $7
    Yvette P.

Delicious Black Sesame Matcha! Size is pretty small though :( Not to be a big back or anything but their sizes are pretty small for the price it is (~$7 for the black sesame matcha). But I will say it is definitely one of the best matcha I've had around this area! Parking pretty straightforward and not difficult. Service was great. The workers in the front were great at explaining top favorites and that they had wifi for people coming in with laptops. Overall, seems like a great quiet place to catch up with folks or study. Sorry didn't get a chance to see if there's outlets!

Finally checked out Cravings Coffee and it honestly exceeded my expectations. The drinks tasted super fresh and balanced. It's not overly sweet like a lot of trendy cafés lately. We tried the Tropical Weather, Strawberry Matcha, and Rose Latte, and each one had its own unique flavor profile. The pastries were the highlight for me. You can really tell everything is made fresh in-house with quality ingredients. The egg yolk puffs were rich and flaky, the pineapple cake had the perfect texture, and the crispy pecan cookie paired so well with the drinks.

    Eileen F.

The staff and owner here are really kind and helpful. They took their time to explain everything in the pastry case and the different drinks that they had. We opted to try a few of their pastries and a cup of strawberry matcha. The food was outstanding - everything was crispy, flaky, and flavorful. The drink was ok - the matcha wasn't as strong tasting as I usually prefer, so if you like a more mild matcha, this place is for you. There's also plenty of room to sit and work, and the actual ambiance was peaceful.

I've just unlocked my new favorite spot to get work done in Hacienda Heights. Finding a cafe that's open late, has fast WiFi, and actually has plenty of available outlets is a rare find, but Cravings hits all the marks. The space is super spacious and setup perfectly for studying or WFH. On top of the great work environment, the menu is fantastic. I tried the Black Sesame Matcha and it's honestly one of the best I've ever had--perfectly earthy and nutty. Service was also wonderful. We also loaded up on snacks: the Duo Matcha, Tiramisu Latte, and a mix of pastries including their Wife Cake, Pineapple Cake, Golden Tarts (Red Bean and Lotus Seed), Crispy Pecan Cookies, and a Kouign Amann. Everything was fresh, flaky, and--crucially for Asian pastries--not too sweet. Definitely coming back next time I need to lock in and study. Highly recommend!

We wanted a sweet drink after dinner. Went to this new place. We had seseme matcha and mango matcha. It was so good. Wished the cup was taller. Wanted more of it. We would suggest requesting less ice. The cup was approx. 3 inch tall so not much drink. Service was good. Very clean with soft slow music in background. I prefer classical music if possible. Go check this place out.

    Iced tiramisu latte
    Christine V.

I'm always on the hunt for a tiramisu latte because it's my fave and the best I've had is only in Temecula. Went to Cravings coffee shop right when they opened on a Sunday morning at 9am. A few people have dropped in. Service was quick. If you love a bright, airy, and minimalist coffee shop, this is the place to be. It's clean and calm, making it a perfect spot for working, studying or chatting with your friends. Obviously I only tried their iced tiramisu latte. It was smooth, creamy, not so sweet; but, unfortunately did not taste like tiramisu at all. -1 star for that. I would come back again and give their other drinks a try.

Very friendly and welcoming service too. For my visit, I got the: 1) Milk Kream Kube: -I wanted to get something basic since it'd be my first time trying a cube shaped pastry that wasn't a huge hulking brick toast and this is honestly a great and perfectly sized sweet baked good to share with someone else as a snack, or perfectly sized if you want to get full with one swoop. -Flaky crisp exterior resembling that of a croissant but not soggy nor dry in the slightest. It's also bready as well. Reminds me of the Asian style breads or the "hotel bread" that they have in Japan on the interior. Went perfectly well with the generous amount of not too sweet milk cream inside. Make sure to have napkins ready! 2) Peach Grapefruit Slush: -Refreshing and sweet taste of peach with the slightly tart and slightly bitter after taste of what I feel like grapefruit tastes like. The employee said the blue color of the latte comes from the sugar they use. Unfortunately the Coco Cotti was disappointing. All I could taste was a faint hint of the coconut milk, barely any coffee flavor. I already suspected that the drink would be milked down when I opened the lid and saw how pale the drink was. I went home and pulled a shot of espresso and added it to my cup and luckily that improved the drink. The next time I stop by I'll be trying the Toffee Hazelnut series - that looks good!
