I am glad I finally went to LADD. It is located next to Haven City Market. The menu includes various assortment of matcha, signature drinks, classic drinks, summer special, and more. They also have uncaffeinated drinks like strawberry milk and cinnamon toast crunch. Their donuts look very interesting, unfortunately they ran out of most of them by the time I went there. The shop was very clean. The young man barista was very professional and friendly. We orderd: - Iced choco latte 5/5 - Cinammon Toast crunch cream top (CTC) with oat milk 5/5 They charge for milk substitute. - Donuts chocotella 5/5 The drinks were very refreshing and delightful. The sweetness was just right. The service was excellent. There is plenty of outdoor seating at Haven City Market. I recommend LADD COFFEE. I will stop by soon to try their delicious donuts and new drinks from their menu.
~ Get the Strawberry Matcha! ~ Because you deserve to drink a matcha latte topped with a strawberry matcha foam with strawberry bites on the bottom that does not taste artificial!! Outside of the new haven plaza! Nice and fast service. There's lots of benches outside the cafe.
PARKING Free parking at Haven City Market! Does get really packed on weekends so may need to drive around a couple of times to find a spot. SERVICE Amazing service! Super kind and helped explain the ingredients in each drink. Also made sure for non caffeinated drinks that there was no cross contamination. :) INSIDE Clean little shop, basically a grab and go. Plenty of outdoor and indoor seating in the Haven City Market. FOOD Tried their banana milk cream top (CTC CREAM TOP) No coffee. It has Cinnamon Toast Crunch on top as well. Banana is made of a puree that isn't too sweet and was pretty good! Their blueberry cream donut was great as well delivered fresh daily from a Korean donut shop in Ktown/LA.
Located right next to haven city market. If facing HCM it'll be on the right hand side. No inside seating but plenty of indoor seating at haven or patio space out front. Grand opening weekend! The line was still going strong around noon. DJ and water misters kept things cool and fun. Great service by all the staff here. Classic choices are espresso, americano, Cappuccino, Latte, S.O. Kyoto Cold Brew. Cold foam toppings and intriguing combinations of concoctions. Great new addition to the block. Would return to try more of their menu.
Stumbled across this spot a few weeks ago when I was at the Haven City Market. I was initially disappointed that it replaced the previous coffee spot that it was there. However, considering the line was out the door, I wanted to give it a fair try. With the waiting it was ~8 minutes to order and for the drink to be ready. I found out they were still in their soft opening phase at the time. As far as interior, it's a very small store. It's not a coffee spot with seating but there are plenty of options over at the Haven City Market. For the drink, I got the TYS cream top and it was a really good. It wasn't too sweet. Their menu was simple but had other drinks that I'd be opened to coming back and trying. I'm curious if they'll expand their menu over time.
Have been waiting to try this place! Food/Drink: I got the matcha einspanner and my partner got the cinnamon toast crunch with an espresso shot. My matcha einspanner was delicious! Probably the best matcha in this plaza, considering there are 2 other matcha spots here. My partner said his drink was okay and would probably opt for a matcha next time instead. Service: Great! The lady who took our order was super nice and gave us amazing recs all with a friendly attitude! Amazing girl :) Ambiance: Super small inside so not really much! Overall, coming back for the matcha!
Stopped by Ladd Coffee and picked up a matcha latte and a strawberry doughnut. The matcha was really good, smooth, and the latte was around $7, which I think is pretty reasonable. The strawberry doughnut was delicious too! The shop itself is very small, so there isn't really anywhere to sit and enjoy your drink inside. Luckily, it's right by Haven City Market, so there are plenty of outdoor seating areas nearby if you want to hang out. The customer service was friendly and everything came out quickly. My only complaint is the parking. Since it's located in such a busy area, the parking lot gets packed, especially on the weekends, so it can be a little frustrating if you're just stopping by for a coffee or matcha. Other than that, I had a great experience and definitely want to come back to try their coffee next time!
The matcha here is so smooth and delicious. I subbed the matcha cold foam that it normally comes with by getting the regular cold foam. It did have a lot of the cold foam that's why I feel this drink is a 4/5. My recommendation would be if it's possible to ask for a little bit of the cold foam. (Service was quick. Several seating available.)
This place is right next to Heaven city. Ordered matcha einspanner with light ice and half sweet. The guy who served me the drink suggested to sip it before I mixed it with the straw. Very delicious ! The matcha was very smooth. I probably would've added an extra matcha scoop. Upon sipping it, of course I first taste the cream top which was not too overly sweet and complemented the matcha perfect. Tried their filled donuts. I should've asked if they add the matcha cream but I didn't. I assumed the creme brûlée was with the matcha filling (seeing a prev post). So was disappointed when I bit into it and it was the regular creme filling. Regardless, the filling was not too sweet and tasted like a cloud of vanilla. The cookie one was also good except it didn't give me that cookies and cream taste. Just more of a subtle chocolate cream. Friendly staff and served quickly. Would return if I'm in town.
I went shopping at the Asian market next door saw that Ladd Coffee opened up in the shop that was previously Local Coffee Roasters, next to Junbi Matcha & Tea. Looking at the menu, I saw that Ladd also offers matcha drinks, not sure if Junbi would be happy to have matcha competition next door to them.... The menu is not big but does offer an interesting selection of drinks options, as well as fresh cream donuts. After speaking with the employee, I ordered her recommendation of the TYS Cream Top and the Strawberry Milk Cream donut. When I picked up the drink the barista said that it was better enjoyed without a straw, but the straw was available if I wanted it. He was right, the TYS is so good, great flavor and definitely a treat. So so good! 5 stars. As for the donut, I do-nut like it. Honestly, I LOVE donuts and I rarely ever not finish a donut. But this donut had a weird texture. Like chewy and gummy, kind of tasted like cake texture, but not really. I took a bite and immediately was turned off by it. I took one more bite to give it another try and I still didn't like it. Gave it to my kid because I didn't want to throw the $6.25 donut away. He said it was ok. I would definitely go back for the TYS (or to try another drink), but I'm staying away from the donuts.

Looks like they recently started using a rewards point system as well, just have to enter your number! So far, I've tried their Matcha Einspanner, TYS Cream Top, Banana CTC cream top, Matcha Creme Brûlée donut, and S'mores donut. Overall, my favorite was definitely their TYS Cream Top, the quality of the coffee was spectacular and this is the drink I'd keep going back for. Definitely 5 stars for this drink. Their donuts all looked unique but I think flavor wise and texture could be improved. Lots of open tables outside. Would be a great place for large groups to grab coffee/matcha and sit outside to chat. Huge parking lot. Probably not the best place to study. Can get crowded outside, busy plaza. No wifi or charging outlets.
Ladd Coffee is the latest addition to the Haven City West Covina. They are currently in their soft opening and I was able to check them out. The drinks on the menu all sounded delicious and the donuts on display all look so decadent. The spot had staff working hard during this soft open. It's a small space with standing room only for inside. The staff mentioned their menu is current and almond and oat milk are offered. However, they were still awaiting their shipment for oat milk. I ordered the Match Einspanner & one of the s'mores donut. The drink was made quickly and the staff working said their drink was best enjoyed without the lid on. I tried it and that first sip was fire! The sweetness of the cream paired with matcha was delightful. Each sip was better and better. As for the Cream Donut, that's S'mores one was flavorful with great texture from the toasted marshmallow and Teddy Grahams. I was impressed by the drink quality and would return again to try another drink item. I left there happy and my sweet tooth was happy too. Come by to Haven City WC and give Ladd Coffee a try! First time coming as I came for a bite to eat at Haven City Marketplace. I got the TYS Cream Top. Not only was the caffeine a good amount but the cream top was perfect! The people there were so nice too! The register girl so polite and the one that gave me my order, a gentleman. Lovely place! Thank you! I'll be back!

Stopped by for a work break, was greeted by the staff immediately and the girl at the cashier was pretty patient with answering my questions. The barista guy in the yellow hat and glasses was also super nice and informed me on how to drink the TYS coffee. Drink is sweet, but not incredibly sweet and I was pretty surprised by how good the foam tasted. I find most foams just ok, but this one has a nice spin to it. I thought the coffee was actually a pretty good brew so props to the guy! I also got the blueberry donut, and it was pretty tasty! Feels like a healthier donut haha, so I don't feel as guilty and it was pretty refreshing for a hot summer day. Love the decor and colors going on. Ladd Coffee (West Covina) genuinely surprised me. It's one of the BEST. I ordered the TYS Cream Top ($7). At initial sip, it tasted a tad too milky and a little weak, but as time progressed, I felt AWAKE. This dainty drink lifted power and carried addictive strength. (Quick Note: They're currently at their soft-opening with a promotion of a free specialty donut for the first 200 customers. Expect a lengthy line if you're visiting June 5 to June 7.) I arrived at Ladd Coffee (West Covina) on Friday (around 10:45AM). Parking is at the popular Haven City Market. When I'd arrived that afternoon, parking was easy; however, that same BIG parking lot can easily become a competitive nightmare at peak times. Luckily, I was literally the first customer, so I had no wait. Shockingly, a HUGE line appeared moments later the doors opened. Customers order at the counter; there's no self-service kiosk. Staff is very welcoming and friendly; however, Staff is also very new since it's the Soft Opening. For example, the Staff member at the register was still receiving training on how to fully work the register. My wait at the register was longer than the drink's time. Once entered, my order took 42 seconds. FAST!! As mentioned, I found myself genuinely liking the TYS Cream Top ($7). It's not a gimmick/trend drink; rather, there's good quality ingredients in that cup. The coffee roast is smooth (not bitter), and the drink came creamy but not too sugary. My only nitpick is a slight adjustment to the milkiness, but the coffee flavor eventually breaks free. It's lovely. If they can maintain the quality, West Covina finally has a proper, quality coffee shop. In addition, I received a S'mores Donut from the Soft Opening promotion. It's cute! The Teddy Graham Crackers are soft; the Marshmallow Cream is fluffy; and the Chocolate is rich. If I would nitpick though, the donut itself tasted chewy and a little hard. On ambiance, Ladd Coffee (West Covina) is cramped and small. It's an order-and-leave spot. However, this business is fortunately next to the Haven City Market which has A LOT of clean tables. The Haven City Market even had customer internet with password, but you need to read the hanging signs within the building for details. Although there's no gender neutral restroom in this business, the neighboring Haven City Market has all those amenities and much more. Overall, I found unexpected delight at Ladd Coffee (West Covina). As a local Covina resident, I am happy to welcome them to our neighborhood. It's always a pleasure to discover a genuinely good business. If you enjoy coffee, this is a very easy recommendation. 4.8 out of 5 read more
Stopped by during their soft opening to try out their matcha! It's a tiny spot with indoor/outdoor seating shared with the food hall. Parking may be hard in the large plaza if you're coming on weekends. Service was quick and friendly! I got the matcha latte with banana cream top, half sweet w/ oat milk. The matcha itself was a good strength and the cream top was delicious! However, there was no banana flavor so I'm confused if I was given just the regular cream top? I didn't mind too much because the drink was done well regardless. Oat and almond milk are available as alternatives for an extra dollar. My friends got the strawberry milk and one of their lattes and reported that regular sweetness was quite sweet. Really glad we got to try their donuts. They're done really well and are light and fluffy. read more

I went opening day and lined up at around 10:55 am. There was a bit of a line but it's worth the wait! The place is rather small and is definitely a to-go cafe. The staff was kind and the owner handed me my drink and thanked me for my patience (I always appreciate it when the owner is present and assists the staff). I got the matcha latte and matcha creme burlee doughnut. The latte has a strong matcha flavor which I love and isn't milky at all. Although, the cup wasn't filled all the way which I hope isn't something that they'll be doing since I've been noticing other cafes not filling the cups all the way. I usually don't like filled doughnuts but the cream was light and so was the flavor; the matcha flavor in the cream was subtle but the doughnut was overall sweet since it has the sugar layer on top. The dough was very soft and didn't have that greasy texture some doughnuts have. Definitely will be coming back and looking forward to the full menu! Update: I went back the next day and got the strawberry matcha latte and pecan cinnamon roll doughnut. The strawberry matcha is now my favorite matcha drink! The matcha flavor balances well with the slight sweetness from the strawberry. Comparable to matcha drinks I've had in LA! The pecan cinnamon roll isn't heavy at all; it's light and not too sweet and the dough is nice and chewy. My friend got the vanilla bean latte, which was really good. She also got the smores doughnut. The chocolate tasted like semi-sweet chocolate which was a pleasant surprise since most doughnuts have frosting. And the whipped cream was so good! I was glad I finally got to try Ladd but my experience made me sad and I felt like I've been had. Damn I should've gone to Rad but then again this place wasn't too bad. This shop made me feel like I was walking up to a friendly human coffee machine if that makes any kind of sense. No seats inside but some sticky ones outside that belong to the Haven City Market. We ordered their signature Vanilla Bean Latte and the TYS Cream Top. The Vanilla Bean drink was off with coffee to sweetness flavor and the espresso didn't hit me like I wanted it to. The TYS was pretty good as Most of them are. It's a trend and I totally get it but when you have a shop like this, it's just disappointing to me that people are just in it for the quick buck. This coffee spot is located just outside of Haven City Market in West Covina, in the same connected plaza. The drinks were flavorful and not overly sweet, which I really appreciated. We also tried one of their cream-filled donuts, and it was definitely a guilty pleasure packed with sweetness. I met up with my run club at Haven city a few weeks ago and noticed the sign for LADD coffee. I was in the mood for some matcha but when I got in line to order I was told it was sold out. I decided to try the TYS and when I picked up my drink I was asked if it was my first time trying it and I said yes, they do recommend you sip from the cup. I loved the coffee so much I ended up coming back a few days later. I'm going to keep coming back and trying all the other drinks but I highly recommend you order online since they are new to the area the line tends to be a little long. read more

LADD Coffee is located outside of Haven City next to JUNBI. I went this morning and noticed a line already.. Their menu has a really fun mix of classic coffee and specialty drinks with cream tops. I tried one of their specialty drinks (TYS Cream Top) and it was so smooth, flavorful, and perfectly balanced--not overly sweet but still super satisfying. If you're a matcha lover, their strawberry matcha is good but I substituted w sweet cream instead of matcha cream. Strong matcha but the cream helped balanced it out. Excellent customer service throughout the whole team! Loved that they welcome you and at the end, the barista talks and suggests how to drink their coffee. There's no inside seat but plenty outdoor and also inside Haven City . Overall, I highly recommend and my go to now for coffee! read more

I have to admit I was a little disappointed when this shop took over another local coffee spot that I liked. But I wanted to give them a fair chance, and I'm glad I did. Their coffee is delicious and their cold brew is easily the best in the area and consistently well made. Their matcha is great and I'm not a big fan of matcha either. I guess I'm a snob when it comes to coffee and I genuinely get upset when my coffee taste like buns. There's no good coffee in the la puente/West Covina area, so I'm glad their cold brew is on point. The staff is friendly, and the atmosphere is welcoming. While I'll always miss the previous cafe, they've done a great job, and I'll definitely be back for the cold brew. I always find it funny when someone leaves a glowing review "Amazing coffee, friendly staff, I'll definitely be back!" and then gives 4 stars instead of 5. Love this place I went on a Wednesday there was no line the matcha einspanner is soo good they do the cream top so right especially with the salt on top .So glad I Dont have to travel far from home to get matcha this great !! Glad to have another matcha/dessert spot option in West Covina! The service was quick and friendly. The store has no inside seating but there are plenty of outdoor seating in the patio area. The store was clean with cute little wall decor. The strawberry matcha was solid. The donuts were cute but could skip. read more

I loved their service, their latte and their donuts! Love their TYS and their high grade matcha drinks! All the employees are always giving me good vibes, and my mom loves that there are outside sitting ALWAYS available! Every time I go, I see that DJ is always perfecting my drink with much detail. This shop can seem like a dessert focused cafe, but DJ really knows his coffee. Solid team that are professional and attentive. Highly recommended to everyone! read more

New coffee shop in the Haven City Plaza! I must say, it did not disappoint. Wait was not too long, about 15 mins. I ordered 2 matcha einspanners and wow - the cream top was delicious. LOVED how creamy it was and the matcha was earthy, umamai, and not overly sweet. The store had very aesthetic and modern vibes and dare I say it lowkey reminded me of Out of Ordi! Came for the soft opening, free cream donut for every drink purchased. We got the TYS (treat yo self) latte and the matcha einspanner. Both were super good, the cream toppers were thick and salty in a very good way. The matcha could've used a little more powder but it was nice and creamy. The line was very long for the event but they got through it pretty fast and I was impressed with how quickly drinks were coming out. Staff was friendly. The place is cute and fits in well in the area, a coffee shop was needed. Minus one star because alternative milks (oat or almond) are $1.50 extra, INSANE mark up. read more

A new Korean specialty coffee shop located inside New Haven City Market. This spot reminded me of all the fun cafes in Korea and I'm so happy SGV's coffee scene has a new addition! They have a lot of fun drinks on the menu, and one of their most popular ones is the Strawberry Matcha. It's topped with a matcha cream top and made with real strawberry bits. I also tried the TYS, and the cream top was definitely the star. It had the perfect balance of sweet and salty. And i thought the Key Lime cream top was a fun twist on a cold brew. They had lots of donuts to choose from, but my favorite was the matcha cream-filled donut. The outside had a nice crunch, and the inside was packed with matcha cream.
