    Strawberry matcha
    Katie R.

I'm absolutely in love with this new coffee shop! It was love at first taste when I tried the strawberry matcha with oat milk. It is perfectly balanced with a hint of their house made strawberry syrup and the high quality matcha is able to shine through without that aftertaste of bitterness. I've also tried a whole bunch of different flavors of their scones and my favorite is the blueberry! It's crunchy on the outside and so soft and buttery on the inside. The blueberries give it the perfect amount of sweetness and moist texture. My family and coworkers also love it here too! I'm not much of a coffee drinker but they really praised the Hold Cream Latte and the Black Cocoa Biscotti Latte. And honestly, I think the whole neighborhood loves it here too because there is always a line no matter how early or late I show up during their soft opening hours! I've visited maybe about 5 or 6 times and each time is consistent with the fast service and great staff. The coffee shop is clean and has such a calming, cute and chic aesthetic. I love how it's Asian women owned too! I can't recommend this place enough and I am excited for when they finish their soft opening if that means longer hours, weekend hours, and more blueberry scones!

I felt old because this is in the old Blockbuster, iykyk. I AM IN LOVE WITH THE COVINA LATTE. It's a blend of coconut & cinnamon. The lemon poppyseed scone was delicious too. Inside space is very open and clean, staff and service were extremely friendly. I will be returning for sure!

New coffee/tea and matcha spot in Covina. Hold Coffee operates on a soft opening hours per their sign at the entrance. I believe they are open Mondays - Friday from 8am-3pm. The ambiance of the spot is very mellow. It's more of a grab and go type of vibe. They have benches and stools to sit and enjoy your drinks. There are no tables for seating just an FYI. They offer coffee, lattes, matcha and lemonade. Scones and other pastries are also on display. Most of them looked really delicious and appetizing. I had to pass as i was there to grab a quick drink. I ordered a Coconut Matcha as that is my current go to item. The drink was delicious and ready within a few minutes. I like the refreshing nature of the coconut matcha and it wasn't overly sweet. Customers filtered in and out during my short time in the location so they are clearly building a good customer base. They are a nice addition to the city and I'd find myself coming back again to try another drink and definitely try a scone. Check em out and support this new business. ( ^_^)bb

This place is solid! Amazing drinks, amazing scones, and the sister team that own it are friendly. Parking lot is small and a line usually forms before they open at 8. I was headed to work and needed my morning caffeine fix. I went with their hold cream latte. Just the right amount of sweet for me and ohhh sooo good. In a last minute decision I also went with a house made scone and boy I did not regret it. The corn scone with jam was amazing. My one wish is they were opened just a little earlier than 8. Since I usually need to be at work by then I happened to go on a day I didn't need to be there by then. But it makes it a non option for me on any regular work day.

I have been driving past this coffee shop but the hours were limited and closed around 3pm I came one morning and noticed the parking lot pretty full. The cafe is amazing. Variety of drinks and fresh patties made in house by the shop owners mother. Korean inspired coffee shop and bakery. I can't wait for the hours to expand so I can come back and enjoy the drinks and pastries again

Longgg overdue review for my new favorite coffee shop - the name Hold Coffee is so suitable because it's got quite the hold on me! The interior is bright, clean and fun, with charming blue details throughout. The good thing about a late review is that I can say customer service cleanliness and drinks are all consistent! My go to is the Hold Cream - the praline is sooo light and the perfect texture/consistency I never feel guilty after because it's so worth it. I also like the Covina latte - I don't usually like coconut flavored things but loveee it in this it's not overwhelming at all, quite refreshing - and also named after the town they're based in, how cute. The matcha is also beautiful in color and quite yum, I watched as it was whisked in front of me. All the drinks are strong and not overly sweet. I will literally go out of my way to grab get Hold! The girls are always friendly and welcoming, and I'm excited this is looking like Covina's neighborhood cafe!

My new favorite coffee shop in West Covina! I drive out of my way for this coffee shop. The coffee is amazing and their menu is amazing. I try and try something new every time I've come. My husband loves their Coldbrew and it's consistent every time. My favorite is the Pineapple Matcha, it's perfectly balanced in sweetness and flavor The scones are to die for, they are made in house and if you're lucky enough to catch them right out of the oven, you're in for an experience. The blueberry scone is my favorite. My only feedback is that their "cream top" drinks are not nut allergy friendly, I hope to expand their cream top options to include a nut allergy friendly option.

i tried their black cocoa biscotti, and loved it!! the cream top especially is very tasty. i'd love to come back and try their other drinks there was still quite a line despite arriving ~40 mins (weekday) before closing. the line moved pretty quickly though. also, the parking lot is very small so it can be difficult to park

I got two drinks - a strawberry Matcha latte with oat milk and a strawberry latte with oat milk. Both were very delicious, light, and refreshing. There was a perfect balance between the espresso/matcha and the strawberry flavor. I went after 12pm so unfortunately they were out of pastries. However, I love the aesthetic, drinks, and customer service so I will be coming back soon! FYI, there's no actual tables/seating.

I finally got to try one of the newest coffee shops in the area. Plenty of parking was available. I went in the early afternoon and there were several people in line. The inside is nice and minimally decorated. Customer service was friendly. I was recommended the black coco biscotti latte. At the time, they also had a soft opening 10% off discount on all drinks. They were unfortunately out of scones for the day. There was a matcha black sesame scone that sounded good that I wanted to try. The drink was ready within five minutes. The latte was good. I got it minimally sweet and it was just right. The flavor of the coffee shined through. I definitely need to come back again to try their matcha and scone. Overall, a nice coffee shop to grab and go for a drink fix.

Cute little spot. Still in soft opening mode. The scones though.... Sooo good. Tried the corn and the ham/jalapeno one. Corn is my fave. Also tried the vanilla latte and strawberry matcha. My husband is a strawberry matcha snob and he actually liked it. I do want to try other menu items so will be back soon.

Loved the simplicity of this spot after a rough morning. I went with a strawberry latte & the Applewood Ham + Jalapeno scone. Both were delicious. Could have had a little more strawberry to the latte, but I would definitely order it again. Gave me the pick me up I needed.

Strawberry Matcha, black cocoa biscotti with a coconut, scone and cinnamon, walnut scone
    Alma H.

I truly have been wanting to try this place since it launched it soft opening, but the hours unfortunately do not align with my work schedule. Finally was off on Friday and did not waste any time heading over there. The place is small, but quaint and welcoming with friendly staff a.k.a. I believe the owners. I ordered the iced strawberry Matcha, which is made with in housemaid strawberry syrup. I was concerned to drink would be too sweet as I normally drink my Matcha unsweetened, but very pleasantly surprised how balance was and how you could taste. The syrup was not artificial my husband had the iced black cocoa biscotti which he absolutely loved as it was chocolatey and smooth We shared a coconut scan in the walnut cinnamon scone. Both of them were perfectly golden brown with crispy buttery edges, and absolutely delicious scones do tend to be dense, but these were well balanced. We both did agree that our favorite was the coconut one. Overall, this is a solid place for coffee and look forward to their full regular hours

You order everything through a tablet, so there isn't much customer service or interaction. I also thought the add-ons were pretty pricey--around $1 for different milk, 50¢ for sugar-free options or syrups, plus extra for other customizations. My double matcha latte with almond milk, sugar-free sweetener, and lavender syrup came out to around $10. The matcha itself was actually really good! I'd give it an 8.5/10. My sister tried one of their espresso drinks and gave hers a 7.5/10. The biggest downside for me was definitely the price. I understand my substitutions add to the cost, but $10 for a standard-sized drink is a little too much for me to come back regularly. As for the atmosphere, there are some wooden seats, but it didn't really feel like a place to study or sit and catch up with friends. The back area had plants, boxes, and other items, so it definitely gave me more of a get your drink and go vibe. Overall, the matcha was delicious, but between the pricing, extra charges, and limited atmosphere, I probably wouldn't return. Worth trying once if you're curious though!

Someone has spent a lot of time creating such a detailed space. I'm not into anime, Pokémon, or fighting card games, but I still enjoyed seeing everything. I ordered the blueberry matcha. As the worker was making it, I noticed they used a matcha whisk. It was fresh, not from a squeeze bottle or premade, which made me happy. I feel that when matcha is made fresh it tastes better and more care goes into the drink and the craft. I will say the cold foams were in a squeeze bottle and premade. The worker said they're made fresh daily, which does add some comfort, but I still prefer them made to order. Anyway, I received my drink and gave it a taste. The matcha itself was very good--nicely blended and refreshing. I could taste the blueberry nicely. I believe the oat milk enhances the flavor and gives it more depth.
