The egg rolls were ready first. These were excellent, perfectly fried with a nice fish sauce. There are four pieces in the order so easy to share and nice to enjoy before the main course. The chicken and rice dish is rice fried with corn and green onions, with a dark quarter chicken deep fried (not breaded) on top. An interesting presentation but a little hard to eat. All components were cooked just right--the rice was just a little crispy and chewy with the corn, which is perfect when these are done together. Not much seasoning. The chicken was fried just right, so I could pull the leg and thigh apart easily. The chicken was juicy. It was not seasoned, so the salt, pepper and soy sauce had to carry that load. I would say the great cook on it made the dish. The milk tea was OK but again difficult. It was served with lots of boba and a lot of syrup, so the syrup went down into the boba and was hard to stir. I actually don't like boba and was for some reason not expecting it, so next time I will specify and that should go better. The truck is new and still getting its legs under it. There was one guy to cook and serve. My food took 30 minutes, which is understandable for cooking the chicken properly but a bit of a lag. I think it is promising and worth a try.

The Nomad grilled lamb chops and Nomad grilled wings are to die for, the flavor of the charcoal with the marinade is just fantastic. Their grilled chicken shawarma is by far the best chicken shawarma I've had in Texas! And I've tried a lot! And the Grilled Beef kebab is an absolute joy! All of their wraps are incredible and very filling. They've also got fried chicken tenders and loaded fries which are fresh and delicious! For something to drink you have to try their special juices, the hibiscus and the mangonade are tasty and so refreshing! The service is great and the workers are nice. The area is also family friendly if you have kids or just want a chill spot to eat at! Definitely recommend!

The wings come highly recommended and I can confirm that they are delicious. The truck has a flame grill (they say charcoal, but the cook was cooking inside the truck and I hope they are not using charcoal that way) and the wings were cooked just right on it. Tender with a nice char. We got all four sauces with our meal and they each bring something different to the food. The harissa sauce is aggressively spiced, you really taste the harissa. The Nomad Sauce is a spicy mix that I believe also has some harissa in it, though not as much. The garlic sauce has plenty of garlic. And there's ranch for the rest of you. The chicken shawarma was cooked very well with authentic spices, topped with the harissa and garlic sauces. It's a nice big portion so you can share or save some for later. Both of our orders came with saffron basmati rice. It was nicely cooked and quite delicious. You can mix the sauces with it and enjoy it that way too. The truck has a nice selection of Mediterranean foods. They have lamb on skewers and as chops. They also have a burger and chicken tenders for those wanting comfort food. They have some specialty drinks on the menu (hibiscus, Mangonade, and a Nomad tea) but those were not available when we came. Service was friendly. The food is cooked to order so be prepared to wait a bit. Definitely worth a try.

They have Connecticut (warm) and Manhattan (cold) versions of the lobster roll, a Big Texan with lots of extra lobster, and lobster mac and cheese. I've gotten the medium lobster roll and the lobster mac and cheese. The medium roll is a nice portion on a toasted bun with a dill pickle. The lobster I got was fresh and tasty, chewy as lobster should be but still tender. Beautiful flavor, they do not mess it up. The lobster mac and cheese is fine, not so much lobster but the client didn't mind that. They have an option to upgrade from chips to fresh-cut fries, which I did, but you should do that being aware that it's not possible to make fresh potatoes crisp on the first fry (maybe if you thoroughly burn them, I guess). Places that make great fries, from McDonalds to fancy restaurants, cook them twice. They must be frozen in between and cooked from frozen to have a crisp exterior and tender interior. I don't mind limp and greasy fries (it's a nostalgia thing), so I went for them. Lobster is pricey stuff, the lobster rolls are market price and that evening for a medium that was $34. The truck has other items at a variety of price points, including crawfish, burgers, and a split beef hot dog for $9. Service is enthusiastic. Hope they do well.

BRUTALLY HONEST…read more Stopped here to kill some time since I was super early for my nail appointment. The service and food at best is mediocre. The hostess/server greeted me when I walked in. I asked if I could sit at the bar and she said it was fine. Immediately she gave me a menu. I ordered a Margarita and shrimp empanadas. The drink was average. I've had better. The shrimp empanadas were okay, but lacking seafood flavor which is strange because it was full of shrimp. They just didn't possess that flavorful seafood pizazz. The server checked on me periodically to see if I needed anything which was cool. However, I didn't feel welcomed. There was an odd vibe in the atmosphere. I sensed that all eyes were on me watching. The owner walked past me about three times without so much of a hello or how are you. He had plenty of time to greet his paying customer. It's not like the place was out-of-control crazy busy. I definitely do not recommend this restaurant to anyone. However, if you think you are interested in this establishment, please dine at your own risk.

The meat was definitely a flavor I couldn't really replicate or compare to any other restaurant. It's a one of kind of flavor of beef. Definitely highly recommended this plate . For the people that want to eat healthy after work this is the most elite food truck to eat healthy and lean out . Looks small but it was definitely a two people portion. 10 out 10

Because I really enjoyed these tacos despite extenuating circumstances…read more --- --- --- Months ago, I heard the owner of Bar-A-BBQ mention Solo Tacos on some YouTube video, when he was asked about his favorite restaurants in Montgomery, other than his own shop. They did not even have a Yelp page, but Bar A is great, so I knew Solo must be pretty good for him for mention it. I followed them on Instagram and gave them at least a half hearted consideration to visit nearly every weekend since then. Finally, on this day, I decided to do a little taco truck food crawl and try three different places. I hit up the other two at lunch, and really didn't feel like getting back in the car to drive there, so when I saw they were on Uber Eats, I was never so happy to pay the delivery fee in my life. See, the weekend prior, I drove all the way there, only to learn that they had to close early that day. There was no phone number to call to confirm that history would not be repeating itself, so Uber Eats seemed like such an easy choice. Anyway, despite that early closure annoyance from the week earlier, and despite the fact that I did not get these tacos fresh off the grill, they were awesome. Of the three taco trucks I patronized on this day, they were the best. I went with Beef, Carnitas and Al Pastor. The Al Pastor were fine, but the other two were excellent. I even added an avocado and cheese to the beef and that was an excellent decision. I also added grilled onions to all of them, which was another big win. The beef ended up being my favorite. I'd love to come back again and eat it on site. I'd also love to try a burrito. But today was taco crawl day. For research. And my findings were that Solo Tacos wins the gold medal.
