Large, fairly easy to peel, end of season crawfish.

We at the very end of crawfish season (they'll end their sales on Sunday here). Some friends really wanted a crawfish fix before leaving on a trip, so we researched some prices in the area, and by far, these were the most reasonable. We added some potatoes to the order. Service was quick and friendly. We got home and dug in. For end of season crawfish, they were still pretty sizeable, not too hard to peel, and not too tough. There were a few in there that maybe hit the point where they were past their prime, but man, so many great ones! I don't know who they harvest through, but they're a great source! They were spiced perfectly. It was the best crawfish to end the season with!!!

We've been sampling our way through the available boiled crawfish to go around Baton Rouge I-10 area. So far this mobile trailered operation on Perkins has hit it out of the park for us. I stopped over about 5pm tonight and found a fast efficient operation with a simple menu to put together a quick dinner selection and run home with it. The transaction and handover to take home took less than 5 minutes. The crawfish were well seasoned, immediately getting our attention. (I eat daily spicy food involving jalapeño and Serrano peppers) These crawfish items immediately got our attention. Together with the corn and potatoes, it was a great spicy meal. So far this business has provided the best crawfish yet for us in Baton Rouge. Great job!

Came back to BR for a few days and of course I had to get me some crawfish.. So I was in search for a new place that was a little closer to me and I came across this fantastic place. This place sits on Perkins Rd in the same lot as Purple Cow Across from Trader Joe's and I was a little skeptical since this was a mobile thingymajig and from recent bad experiences in Memphis with crawfish.. but omg this place made up for it.. I've gotten a little better with determining how I like my crawfish and these are Def better than Capital City. However I think this place is in comps with Prescott's grocery. ( My nose was running eating those mudbugs and that's what I want!) I only got 1lb Of crawfish and oh my do I regret not getting more! They were nice n hot! The spicy level was amazing my lips were slightly burning. My nose wasn't running but OMG they still tasted amazing and weren't salty AT ALL! A few of them were on the small side but I'm cool with that because I thought the flavors made up for the size. I will definitely be a return customer. Is there a way for me to get them extra spicy?

Let me start by saying that I'm from NOLA where the crawfish is the best (or so I thought). I came across crawfish on the Geaux and was skeptical at first due to myself being a loyal customer at a former beloved place for almost 25 years. I was very impressed! Not just the flavor but the size! If you're looking for really good flavor that can have you nose almost start running than this is it! The sides were great as well. Everyone is so pleasant and they are fast serviced. I've gone back every week (sometimes even 2-3 times a week ).

Worth the wait in line (pro tip: always ask the window if they're going to run out by the time you get up there before waiting in line, not their fault if they run out, but still a time saver for you) I love this place. I eat way too much crawfish. I pick up from here probably once a week or so. they have never let me down. Always juicy and seasoned perfectly. Idk how he does it but he always has the best selection. Magicians. Angels. Xoxo

Good service and crawfish were good. The 3 pounds was a good value for me. We also enjoyed crab legs.

Honestly the best crawfish I've had in Baton Rouge. Every time it's a perfect batch. Seasoned perfectly, right amount of juice.

Ask the Community - Crawfish on the Geaux

I'm planning to order on waitr and the only info it has about the boiled crawfish is the price which is 7.29 but is that per pound or per a different amount?

That's per pound. I came by last week to pick up and it was almost 7$ a pound.

Do note I live in Los Angeles, so we don't typically get crawfish boil readily and at $5.

The carne asada taco was okay, too many onions for me, but still quite tasty. Some would probably be intimidated to eat here because it is a run-down food truck located next to a gas station near the Home Depot of Coursey & Cedarcrest. The service was friendly and fast. Eating there is not really recommended because there are just folding chairs, no tables. I would say the food was pretty authentic and I plan on going back, especially for those yummy pupusas. This might not be your first choice, but at least make it a choice; step out of your box and try something new!

Everyone has heard about my deep rooted love and obsession for tacos and food stands, so I wanted everyone else in Baton Rouge to find out about this gem of a shady but delicious food truck! The meat is charred crispy to perfection, without being dry. The doubled-up HANDMADE a corn tortillas are definitely the best tortillas I have ever tasted. (Hmm, wonder if I can get a whole pack to go?!) The pupusas are delicious too, and come topped with a pickled cabbage. My friend did order the pork tacos, thinking it was carnitas, but it was actually chicharrones (pork rind) and we didn't like that one so much. I TOLD her to let me order for her in Spanish, but she insisted on the pork before I had the chance to people rly ask WHAT type of pork...... And yes, it's best to order in Spanish. Just say "taco de carne asada" (beef steak) and "taco de pollo" (chicken) and how may and you should be set. I usually order 3. They are small but very filling. I could literally eat these everyday. There are 2-3 chairs to sit out at while waiting for your order, and the wait time is 4-8mins or so depending on how much you order but it's so worth it. They even give salsa to go. Ladies, please wear your wedding rings (or a fake one while you order) because there will most likely have a plethora of men ordering authentic Mexican food, waiting to propose to any unsuspecting lady who just wants to get her foodporn on and immediately dash to the comfort of their own home to indulge in these tasty treats. It is parked at the gas station near the Home Depot on Cedarcrest & Coursey. Coming from bluebonnet (with the CCs coffee house on your left) you will cross over working onto Coursey, and it's the second gas station on the right. If you're in the Home Depot parking lot, the gas station is directly in front of the store.

I ordered the ropa vieja, and it reminded me of a really well-made pot roast that's been braised until it's fall-apart tender. It paired perfectly with the rice and beans. What impressed me the most wasn't actually the beef, it was the congrí. I honestly expected the rice and beans to be more of a filler side, but they were packed with flavor and were enjoyable all on their own. To me, that's the sign of a kitchen that pays attention to every component on the plate instead of focusing only on the main entrée. That's something I really appreciate. A great meal isn't just about one standout item. Every component should be seasoned and prepared with the same level of care, and Elisa's does exactly that. The food isn't trying to reinvent Cuban cuisine or impress you with flashy presentation. They're simply focused on making authentic, delicious food consistently, and it shows. The interior was beautiful, the portions were satisfying, the prices were reasonable, and the service was excellent. There are several other dishes I already want to come back and try, which says a lot after just one visit. If they continue serving food with this level of consistency, Elisa's will definitely become a regular stop for us.
