Last night in Baton Rouge and was looking for a place to have a nice meal before a travel day…read moreahead. The reviews looked promising so I thought... why not? When I arrived it was honestly dead inside. Maybe one other customer and I had to ask if they were still open because it was oddly slow. But you want to know what was not dead? Their food! I ordered a glass of wine and the beef tenderloin cooked medium rare. He steak came with fingerling potatoes and veggies. The steak was seasoned and cooked perfectly, the veggies had a slight crunch and not overcooked and the fingerling potatoes were the perfect add to that dish. I sat at the bar and had the place to myself but overall really enjoyed my food. Friendly staff and very happy with my experience.

The tuna salmon carpaccio was good, little thrown off as it was warm which had me worried. But it was very good and balanced. The rice puffs were addicting. lobster roll was good even Though it was cold style which is not my favorite but the bread was delicious and they filled it nicely. Just need to provide more butter. Their fries were airy and consistent. The only not good part was the tiramisu and the colada drink. The cookie wafers were too much and too dense. All in all will come back.

Geaux Fish Market…read more 9958 Burbank Dr, Baton Rouge, LA 70810 #tonylameats This was my 1st time pulling up to @Geaux Fish Market and I'm not gonna lie, this concept is Brilliant! You can literally pick your out fish and have them cook it right there. Like how fresher can it get?? I chose the Louisiana Red Snapper since it's one of my favorite fish to eat. I had to go crazy with it: * Fried Seafood Sampler: Fresh-cut US catfish, jumbo shrimp, and Louisiana oysters. That catfish?? It's easily the meatiest I've ever had; crispy on the outside and juicy on the inside. * Louisiana Red Snapper this was my "foodie victim" but man, it was super tender, light crisp, just melts when you bite into it. Lowkey, it's one those hole-in-the-wall spots you don't expect to hit like this but it does, on a whole another level. I'll definitely be back. What I liked the most about going there to pick up my food was the cleanliness and the customer service. I loved loved loved the flavor of the fried red snapper. 10/10. And while I did think the grilled fish was good, it wasn't as seasoned as the fried one. I think the side worth getting is definitely the yellow rice. You should definitely check them out if youre looking for a place to buy fresh fish to cook at home also.

They have all the fixings for a boil from the corn down to the sausage. The service is great the people who serve you the fish always give you what you ask for. Now the ambiance is to be desired. It's on the Infamous Plank Road. So shop with caution on that street. They always have a sheriff or two on the property to help keep down problems but still be cautious. I will continue to shop for my fresh fish and shellfish from this local home town staple.

Tony's does not disappoint. They have a variety of frozen items as well as a full steam table, steamed /boiled seafood and fresh fish. We went in hungry and left out with 3 bags of stuff. We got hot plates of fish, shrimp, smothered steak, jambalaya and boudin. They should really make a sign that explains the ordering process at the steam table. So many items to choose from and you can't be sure what's an entree versus a side. Options are plentiful and everything was good. I was disappointed that they sold the potatoes corn and turkey necks along with the boiled crawfish and shrimp but no sausage nor boiled eggs. We also left with a package of the best pralines I have had ever! The stuffed pork chops and stuffed whole chicken was a hit at our Memorial Day bbq.

My fiancé ordered a catfish poboy and a side fry. I order a side house salad, stuffed potato, and crawfish étouffée. He got back and immediately realized my salad was missing. **the whole reason we ordered here**. Anywho, I wait for him to get back and we set up to eat and realize his fries are also MISSING. I previously worked at Mike Anderson's in Gonzales and our host and take out team were on point. I believe management needs to brush up their team in this area. It's a very easy mistake to fix. I understand being busy and having a million task at hand but a simple bag check can make all the difference. I wish we would've checked before leaving the restaurant. Sometimes the simplest mistake can make or break the meal. Will forever continue to eat here. Just a hungry pregnant woman and her tired, hungry, blue collar fiancé.

But, I did like the fish tanks that were everywhere and tvs so it was nice to watch something while we waited. One of us got the restaurant week deal which was the shrimp sampler for an appetizer, the surf and truffle for an entree, and cheesecake for dessert all for like $40! Very big portions, so we were impressed. I got the oysters, which were amazing, and my dad got the tuna steak, which he said was delicious. Service was great, and my oysters came out the same time the rest of the entrees did. My mom said the wine she got tasted old, so I wouldn't recommend getting that here. But, overall it was a pretty good seafood place. Not much on the menu other than seafood though.
