What a gem for the neighborhood! Service: 10/10 - super attentive, fun and helpful! Ambiance: 9/10 - it's gorgeous, the fake flower wall isn't exactly my vibe but it's still a great setting that you want to stay a while in! Food: 8/10 - I got the filet which was cooked perfectly to my specifications, would absolutely get again. My husband got the fish special that I think was a sea bass and it was a tad undercooked to his liking. We got the chocolate cake for dessert which was divine! Overall it's such a good addition to Conejo Valley, we live 5 minutes away so it's a great date night spot that not in westlake or Ventura!
The food that was catered for the bday party, was completely delicious, from the salad, to the charcuterie board, to the fingers food apps, to the main course to the desserts. The setting on the patio was very elegantly put together, and the flower wall was perfect for photo opportunities. The service was top notch, and the cherry on the cake was it was our servers bday also on the same day as my friend's 50th celebration. The experience for the 1st time at Selvin's was worth making a return visit and advise everyone that in the area, to stop by and enjoy the same experience I had here, you won't leave disappointed.
Atmosphere is super cute and trendy, unexpected in this location but cute patio and covered outdoor space. Food was all good and the drinks were delicious and cute as well!
The food and ambiance was spectacular. Unfortunately I had a very unpleasant experience with the staff. When I first arrived the manager (we were told), Courtney, was on hostess duty. She was very rude. Just awful. Couldn't find our reservation for brunch and made it seem like she was going to turn us away after an unusually length back and forth durning a very dead brunch hour. She did soften up when her manager came over and greeted us. Then we were sat promptly with his mindful eye. The brunch itself went great with our waiter, it was said he was the head waiter. Very friendly and knowledgeable. But you could hear Courtney in the background advertising her dating life and how she turns men down, just bizarre for a manager in my eyes. The general manager came over to see how we were doing at the end of our meal and acknowledged our bizarre interaction with Courtney, that was appreciated. He said she is not a routine employee there? He did take our bill to run my card. The waiter came back with our bill and before we received it he noted the "complimentary" $15 fruit that offered for our marriage celebration (that we did NOT order or even implied we wanted) was charged but his manager took care of our two drinks instead for the initial interaction with Courtney. We left feeling very icky from the experience. How did we pay for this $15 fruit bowl for we never asked for. It's not about the actual price. I understand the two drinks were taken off for the bad service, but it seemed very crooked to charge us for, what was told, an already complimentary surprise gift to us. Something that would and should have never even been on the bill in the first place. Just weird. I don't think I could bring anyone here after our experience.
First time visiting this place. Indeed it's a fancy and cozy place to spend time with family and friends. It was a busy time, luckily a reservation was made. So it's better to rsvp just in case. The food was presented in a lovely way. It's beautiful and delicious. Definitely a thumbs up for our community. Must try.
Was looking for something near our hotel that wasn't a chain and came across Selvin's! I was immediately sold by the pictures of the cocktails and pizzas, then sold once again when I saw that they had quite a few reasonably priced items. First impression was the atmosphere, it was fabulous! Loved the lounge vibes, it felt upscale and swanky without feeling stuffy or like we weren't dressed enough to be there. Also loved the flower wall in the patio room, and how they had the same florals in the main dining room, really tied the two rooms together. To eat the four of us ordered in pairs, we each got caesar salad and pizzas to share. The caesar salad was great, I loved that it was grilled, something you don't see too often so when you do get it, it's a nice treat. The pizzas were good, and the crust was great. My mom and I shared the funghi and thought that it needed a little more flavor or salt to help cut through the richness of the cheese and caramelized onions. But, we still enjoyed it. The other pizza was a margherita but with the addition of pepperoni. My dad loved this and said it was one of the best pizzas he had in awhile. He liked that it wasn't too heavy, especially since we were eating fairly late. A few of us got drinks, my mom loved her cosmo, my cocktail was fine but not one I'd order again. I liked that they had some more innovative cocktails as well as the classics, I'd probably go with a classic next time.

That Selvin's Restaurant & Lounge in Thousand Oaks, California was 1000% worth the wait and is exactly what this city needed. A Classy, Elegant, & Upscale destination where locals and tourists alike can experience the cities newest IT spot that I guarantee will not disappoint. ---------------------------- The backstory: We had been to the previous eatery years prior that occupied this same exact space (previously Brendan's Irish Pub & Restaurant) which was just another bar with bar-like food that matched the atmosphere of the hotel it was once attached to. Fast forward years later and a new vision was on the horizon! And after months and months and months and months of construction, Selvin's finally made its debut (June 2024??) and it was literally blowing up my social media marketing the newest lounge and boutique hotel in town. Between the... Revamped boutique hotel & The new restaurant & Lounge... I knew it was just a matter of time before we went and checked it out for ourselves. Well 4 months later, which I think is the perfect amount of time for a new restaurant to work out the kinks and get into their groove... We finally made our own debut and boy was I nothing, but short of impressed. Let me tell you, Nothing and I mean Nothing was left to chance. The exterior decor, the perimeter lighting, the signage on the outside of the building is Perfection. The seating layout, the cool bar setup, and the vibe inside transforms you to a different time and I totally dig it. The amount of detail that they put into each of their menus, the pure magic that's coming from the kitchen and the precision of how each dish is beautifully plated tells me.... Selvin's mean business and they are in the business of hospitality! Hell, if you don't believe me... Just go and check out their restrooms! Even their restrooms have class & style! A menu that will appease everyone's palate and has something for all. Entrees are all reasonably priced... Smaller plates, including Pizzas, Salads & Appetizers to share all also available. A wide variety of fun cocktails, spirits, beers on tap and a hand selected wine list are at the ready... When you are ready; Are you ready? All I can say is... Compliments to the Chef's making culinary magic from the kitchen. Bravo to the Owners and Management team who brainstormed to bring this little gem to life. You were definitely worth the wait! And we will absolutely be back soon!
Selvin's has a great ambience for date night. It's upscale and has beautiful decor with lots of floral details. The cocktail menu is creative. I had a fruity mango cocktail and my husband had the strawberry lemonade. We shared the Caesar with crispy capers. It could've used a little more dressing, but no one came to check following the delivery. Our entrees were delicious. Pappardelle bolognese with burrata was creamy and flavorful. My fish tacos with mango salsa were tasty, but a bit skimpy on the fish.
Came for a light dinner & drinks before a comedy show. We live almost 2 & half hrs away! The Caesar salad w/ shrimp was perfect! With a side of truffle fries. The dip was delish. Im a fan of lemon drops & Christopher recommended a pomegranate lemon drop So delish! Refreshing!!! Topped it all off w/ a slice of chocolate cake. The atmosphere was relaxing. Visually beautiful. Where do eight friends go for Christmas Eve dinner when not in the mood for Chinese food? Selvin's was open and honored our reservation despite being pretty crowed when we arrived. Our server was at our table very soon after we arrived with a big smile and upbeat attitude. Great service throughout the evening. We started with 2 shared appetizers - the fried calamari ($15) and the cauliflower symphony ($19). The calimari was good but the cauliflower was OUTSTANDING!! I'm usually not a big fan of cauliflower. This dish could make me a convert - it was soooo good. For my entree, I got the penne alla vodka with shrimp ($32). Large portion of penne with 4 grilled shrimp. Excellent dish. My wife got the brick chicken. She thought it was the best chicken preparation she has ever had! Great service, lovely ambiance, and terrific food - we will definitely be back - often!
We went here last night for the hubby's birthday. It was incredible! From appetizer to the espresso martini at the end. I had the lobster roll special and it was incredible. Service was spot on. Everything was great. Thank you for an incredible night.
There's nothing I love more than a dining experience that completely makes you feel like you're somewhere special, that's what this place did for me, it has a modern but classic Hollywood nostalgia to it, felt like I was in a movie with all of the holiday decor, The egg nog "secret Santa" drink was delicious! Everything tasted great, staff was on point w great service and were very attentive! I got prime rib which tasted great and was tender,

Huge thanks to Tommy, Melissa, Jackson, and Makenna -- their service was simply flawless, the kind you wish every restaurant had. The food was beautifully fresh -- the chicken in the salads was so succulent it could win awards. You never have to wait or wave your hand here -- the staff moves like cheerful little bees, always right there when you need them. The coffee was heavenly (I'm completely obsessed ), and their Aperol Spritz? Let's just say it could make an Italian bartender jealous! Five stars -- easily! Thank you all for making our brunch not just delicious, but genuinely joyful. Can't wait to come back -- our office is already plotting the next excuse!
As a Yelp Elite Squad member, I'd been fortunate enough to attend a special event at Selvin's many months ago. I'd been wanting to go back and take Dear Hubby to enjoy this very special re-imagining of the previous space, which had been an Irish pub incarnation. When our sister-in-law and two nieces were in town, the five of us were able to spend a quick evening together at Selvin's. We had been working on a project at our house, and by the time we got finished and ready to go out there wasn't a lot of time left as we went on a weeknight and they close at 9:00. I'm surprised that having a full bar, and being attached to a hotel property, that they would hang it up so early - even 9:30 or 10:00 would make more sense. It's such a charming place; seems a shame to have to call it a night so early. The ambiance is absolutely divine, especially out here in suburbia. It's very innovative in its layout. The lighting was carefully planned and is very effective in creating a special mood. And, what can be said about the wall of roses? It's tailor-made for snapping fun photos, that's for sure. The chef is sending out creative and Dee-Licious dishes from the kitchen. Yes, I know how to spell delicious, but it is worth adding the accented flair to stating the fact that this is a cut above many other dining establishments in the Conejo Valley. Dear Hubby and I shared Pappardelle Pasta and a Tuna Tartare appetizer. Both were excellent. One of our nieces ordered the taco platter. Wait till you see the photo. The only thing that was disappointing, menu-wise, was that bread wasn't included, so we ordered some as a side. Two little slices. I've forgotten the price, but I recall that it turned into sticker shock when we saw what was served. I'm tickled that they offer a nice array of zero proof cocktail options. They aren't inexpensive - apparently spirits without alcohol aren't any less (or maybe only slightly less?) than the full-spirited options. Still, it's nice to have the option. Our out of town family members LOVED Selvin's; it was a big hit with all of us. As an added bonus, there was a guitarist playing beautiful acoustic music when we arrived and were seated in the lounge area. Major extra credit! read more

Selvin's is serving up the epitome of "girl dinner" so the bestie and I had to make a trip to check it out for ourselves. What is girl dinner you may ask? It's the perfectly curated trio - Dirty Martini, followed by a well dressed crisp Cesar salad, and perfectly hot Truffle French fries. That's girl dinner in a nutshell (trust us on this combo). On their speciality menu it's called "Martinis and Munchies for Two" for $49. An amazing deal split between two friends. Dirty Martini: Some of the best ice cold martinis on this side of town. These cocktails were crafted to perfection and were always a sucker for the blue cheese stuffed olives. Tossed Cesar Salad: A Cesar salad during these hot summer months always hits the spot. Crisp, cold and fresh. The dressing was solid but I must highlight the lightly scattered capers on this salad - so smart and so tasty! Truffle French Fries: After a few martinis these French fries come in clutch. Crispy, hot and perfectly salted - who doesn't love a French fry and an aioli with a kick. Honorable Mention: PASTA. I was very impressed with my pasta dish here. Ordered the pappardelle bolognese and this pasta was a 10/10. Perfectly cooked ribbons of pasta with a hearty meat sauce and the Stracciatella topping sealed the deal for me on this pasta. We had a fabulous girls dinner from start to finish. The ambience at Selvin's is truly magical and we just love the decor and bar area. We had a cozy little booth to ourselves and the service was top-notch from start to finish. Extra kudos to Claudia for being a bubbly, lovely girls girl who was super attentive to us during our meal and made the night A+. Can't wait to come back soon. read more
My girlfriends and I had brunch here on Saturday, November 8, 2025, at 11 a.m. We loved how open and clean the restaurant was, and it wasn't busy at all, which made the experience even more enjoyable. I ordered the Gemini Rights cocktail, the Funghi Pizza Flatbread, and the Chopped Caesar Salad everything was delicious. Everyone at the table really enjoyed their meals and cocktails. The bartender and our waiter were very friendly and provided excellent customer service. read more

Came for a family dinner with 5 of us total and overall had a nice experience. We ordered a *ton* of food so I'll give feedback on all. The inside is designed beautifully, and our waiter (I believe Octavio) was great especially putting up with an excited and silly group. We started off with appetizers: - Whipped goat or feta dip on the specials. 5/5 SO good taste wise, however it didn't come with many crackers for dipping and we easily used all of them. I asked for a couple more crackers to eat the remaining dip and got charged $3 for a couple of crackers... thought that was lame and cheap of them to charge for that. - Cauliflower symphony - 3.5/5 - very yummy but nothing unique. I love cauliflower so I'd order it again but it could've used much more sauce, kumquats, etc. to make it taste like more than JUST roasted cauliflower. - Arancini bites - 3/5. Prepared well but was served over pesto which isn't listed on the menu and none of this preferred this over traditional arancini served with marinara sauce. - Homemade sourdough focaccia - 3.5/5 Bread itself was very yummy but again, nothing unique or memorable. I really didn't like the seasonal butter it was served with which is rare. I don't think I've ever had a speciality butter that I've disliked. Mains - Duck Confit pizza: 5/5 so unique, yummy, and filling! - Burger and Hamachi Crudo: I didn't personally have these but my group seemed to enjoy both! - Golden Coast Spring Salad: 2/5. We ordered the large which is $25 thinking we could all share, and it came in a regular sized salad bowl. For not coming with any meat, this is extraordinarily expensive. There were way too many endives in comparison to the rest of the salad ingredients. Not a balanced dish, not filling, not large, and overpriced. Overall, I would absolutely come back. There are very few actually good restaurants in Newbury Park. Some of the dishes were a miss but overall we enjoyed our meal and the ambiance. read more
This is the place hands down for any special event. We wanted to take grandma to a lovely meal for her 91st bday and we absolutely loved the last visit we had. It started off hands down full of love with a specialized seating arrangement on the patio with a beautiful happy birthday message on the table! To make things better grandma is a die hard dodger fan and the game was on and she got to relish in the whopping of the Yankees! Staff made it extra special recognizing grandma and really going above and beyond with the cake we brought and slicing and serving! The food always phenomenal but the service top notch! read more
I rarely give 5 stars but every time this place never fails to impress! We visit whenever we're up here running trails in Thousand Oaks! The food is phenomenal, the drinks are unique, the atmosphere can't be beat and the service is always so friendly! A few of our faves include the harvest salad (add shrimp or steak!), the pizza and any pasta. They update their menu seasonally so we always try new things. The desserts are also top notch. I can't say enough good things about this place! Plus they have entertainment -- live music is always a plus. This place is a VIBE! read more

What a gem in the Thousand Oaks neighborhood. I'm so glad this restaurant is attached to Palm Garden, cause it was really easy for me to walk from my hotel room to this restaurant. The food here is superior. I loved everything I had here -- the salad, cocktails, tiramisu, and oh my goodness... the bread!! Definitely recommend coming here for a night out with friends or family. I want to come back sometime to try the pizza as it looked delicious as well. read more

Vibey place for a date night or girl's night out! The space is gorgeous and the hostesses and servers are top notch. We had made a reservation for an event night for two, but ended up having two additional friends join on arrival. The hostess was great and immediately found a spot for our group. Our server was incredibly friendly and even brought over a complimentary birthday dessert. We ordered appetizers, each came out quickly. The food was good, but would say the drinks were the standouts. Overall a nice experience, however, this is my third visit and each time, the drinks are so.slow. to arrive. read more

We absolutely loved our experience at Selvins! The sea bass was incredible--perfectly cooked with a rich, creamy sauce that was just excellent. The chocolate mousse was delicious, and the mango margarita with a splash of mezcal was amazing! My husband got the sliders and thoroughly enjoyed them. I even tried another margarita where the waitress lit the lime on fire at the table--such a fun and memorable touch. We'll definitely be back! read more
Our 3rd time at Selvin's but finally had the opportunity to have dinner and let me tell you 805 people if you haven't tried Selvin's yet you are missing out. Ventura County is truly blessed to have this amazing classic restaurant at our fingertips. Service was first rate, the evening ambience made it even better but the star of the evening was the amazing food. We wanted to try so many dishes and we were lucky enough to be dining with another couple so we made lots of choices. Well done Selvin's, or as I say in Italian; Bravissimo e delizioso! Love the vibe at Selvin's and love that we have this excellent fine dining experience in NP. Highly recommend reservations. Our server was very attentive without hovering. Love that their cocktail menu has little images of what the drink will look like. And having been here once before - it's safe to say that any cocktail you get is going to be excellent. Pizza Oven Blistered Shishito 3/5 - Fermented Black Bean Vinaigrette, Scallions, Sesame Seeds- these weren't well blistered - no crinkle, and a bit soggy. The flavors weren't entirely balanced between tart/sweet/salt- rather they tasted one dimensional. 5/5 Steak Frites - Prime Hanger Steak topped with Chimichurri Sauce - fries were a touch under salted but had a great texture of crisp on the outside and creamy on the inside. The steak was cooked and cut perfectly (although could have done with a touch of char) and the chimichurri sauce was delicious. 3/5 Ahi Tuna Poke with a soy glaze, avocado puree, and daikon radish, then topped with scallion curls, furikaki, and crispy wontons - the tuna had no discernible flavor at all. The crackers (not what I'd call wantons) didn't complement the flavor of the dish at all, so I didn't really bother with them-- which made the dish very one-dimensional. I hadn't paid attention to the fact that it is avocado puree - instead when I saw the little dollops I thought that it would be wasabi puree which likely would make for a much better bite. Finally, and this is just a personal peeve, I really dislike sitting at tables where the neighboring tables are so close that you feel like you are having a meal with them. The people next to us had a champagne bucket and in order to get up, I felt like I had to shimmy sideways or risk bumping into their Veuve! Overall a good experience. read more
I'm from DTLA so I was a little scared to drive more than 1.5 hour but it was soooooo worth it. From start to finish. The appetizers were so dang delicious. We had the ahi tuna poke and arancini balls. Only thing I would recommend is to add a little kick to the tuna? It's Asian inspired so I was sad it was missing some sort of spice. The arancini balls were perfect!! Absolutely love the concept of having the protein on the side. Well balanced. For our mains- we had the salmon and napa half chicken. Presentation? 10/10!!! And The salmon was probably the best I ever had. Very different. The sauce and corn underneath. Yummy yummy. The drinks? Listen... if you like strong strong drinks, THIS IS YOUR SPOT! :) Our server was Alissa. She was the sweetest! Never felt rushed or unwelcome. She was also funny so it was a whole vibe. Selvin's is such a dreamy, romantic, and just vibey place perfect for birthdays, date nights, or just treating yourself to a dinner and drinks! Walking inside, the ambiance was 20/10. There is indoor seating at the bar, lounge areas, and themed dining rooms in addition to the main dining area. There is also an outdoor covered patio with seating and a huge rose wall for pictures. They know their audience! Just a beautiful location. For drinks, I highly recommend the Spirit for Spirit (it was so good I had two), Gemini Dreams, and the Pink Panteress. Best cocktails ever by far and each drink has a unique presentation. For food, you can't go wrong with anything! From the cauliflower, the smash burger, to the pizza...everything was so delish. I was just told that they will start their brunch service soon so I cannot wait to come back and bring the girls! read more

I've been here a couple times now, for brunch and dinner. I can't believe how much the place has changed from the previous restaurant. The restaurant is almost unrecognizable, they did a really nice job with the decor. Thankfully parking hasn't changed, still easy and there is plenty of it! I will say one downside, while we were having brunch, they have the music blasting quite loudly. Food 4/5: *Fried Chicken & Waffles $24. Whipped Maple Butter + Chipotle Syrup... The chicken was cooked perfectly! The portion was just right, however I do wish it came with a little something more on the plate given the cost. *Selvin's French Toast $22. Berry Mascarpone, Berries, and Whipped Maple Butter...I could just eat the Mascarpone alone! It really elevated the dish quite nicely. *Salmon Eggs Benedict $22. Canadian Bacon, Poached Eggs, House Made Hollandaise, Served With Selvin's Crispy Hash Brown... You can never go wrong with Eggs Benedict and this dish was no different. *Avocado Toast $17. Cherry Tomatoes, Pickled Onions, Feta Cheese, Balsamic Drizzle, Toasted Multigrain. Add Egg $3 / Add Bacon $4... I love Avocado toast! However, the dish was a little messy to eat, but nicely packed with flavor! However, I do think the cost was a bit high given it was an extra $3 for an egg. *Butternut Squash Risotto $36. Risotto, Mushroom Conserva, Parmesan Truffle Foam, Toasted Hazelnuts, Fried Sage VG. Choice of Prawns 45 or Scallops MP... I really enjoyed this dish, the flavors were spot on! The scallops were cooked perfectly and so was the risotto. *Arancini Bites $16. Bacon, Peas, Pecorino, Crispy Prosciutto... *Tiramisu $12. Espresso, LadyFingers, Mascarpone Cream, Cocoa Powder... I found a new favorite restaurant in the area. The food and cocktails that I ordered except for the bread were all so delicious! The server (Cory) was so attentive and taking his time explaining things thoroughly. This place is so beautiful and great for a date night out or hang out with friends/family. Hope they are making some improvement for the bread they serve. It was a bit hard or chewy to my liking with some odd taste. Overall, it's definitely a come back for me in a near future. read more
This is definitely going to be the next hot spot! They have everything you would need for any occasion. I saw two parties celebrating their birthdays, couples on date nights and solo people who just wanted a quick meal at the bar. Not to mention; it's absolutely gorgeous!! I came here with my fiancé Tam, and I'm so happy to be her plus +1. Haha I enjoyed my time! The half chicken- highly recommended! Ask for Alison if you can. She was great. I booked an early dinner reservation for my husband's birthday dinner on a Saturday evening. There's lots of parking at the Palm Garden Hotel. We were greeted right away and got seated in the outdoor patio side for 2. Everyone was very attentive, especially our server Kendall. The weather was perfect for outdoor dining and viewing the open windows facing the palm trees. My husband ordered the Madman drink which comes with a pack of candy cigarettes. We shared an appetizer of fried calamari, which was good. For our entrees, we shared the seared scallop risotto and the spicy shrimp pizza. There's a lingering spice flavor to the shrimp pizza so be warned if you can't handle it lol There's a strong flavor to the risotto that balances well with the bread of the pizza so they pair well together :D For dessert, we shared a tiramisu which was light and not too sweet. It was my husband's favorite. We also received a complimentary birthday dessert which is 2 scoops of gelato in either chocolate, vanilla or hazelnut flavors (he chose chocolate so I could help him out haha). The gelato had a deep chocolate flavor and was my favorite :) Thank you Selvin's for a memorable birthday dinner. The rose wall is very instagram-worthy and the service was exceptional. read more
Came in for a drink and dessert. Hostess said they were fully booked, but we could sit at the bar. Bar chairs with backs, yay! Purse hooks . Bartenders were friendly and took the time to recommend their favorites. We both ordered the Gemini Rights. One with tequila, one with mezcal. Delicious! I came on a Thursday night around 7pm to grab drinks and a dessert with my bestie and this place was packed! We had to find seating at the outdoor patio bar and I did not expect it to be so busy on a weekday. The place is super cute and I like how the crowd is mixed with all ages and you can dress up or down - no dress code. The red ropes outside the entrance door is too much for me as it doesnt fit the vibe of the surrounding area (this place really belongs in Westlake Village), but that's just my opinion. The tiramisu was fluffy and amazing along with the drinks we got with it too. It was the other yelpers who posted pictures that drew me in to check it out. I also appreciated that they offered mocktails. The food coming out looked good and I will be back to have date night with the hubby. read more

What's the dress code..casual or dressy?
I would say elevated casual. It's not super dressy but I've seen people be both.
Do you allow dogs on the patio?
Our patio is considered a true outdoor patio, so dogs are welcome as long as they are well mannered. Also, they must enter through the patio doors that face Ventu Park Road.
Is there a dress code?
We do not have a dress code except we that do not allow pool attire. Thank you.
Does Selvin's have a happy hour?
We do not have "Happy Hour" at the moment though we may have some interesting offerings in the future.
